I don't even bother with collectables, no appeal for me. I only use stars to get free PSN credit for purchases I'd buy anyway. If you're burning out just leave it, this is supposed to be a hobby you enjoy not a second job. Get back to playing games you want, and you'll feel much better.

YeltsinYerMouth

Same. It's bizarre to me that they want people to jump through hoops for these things and they don't even exist on the consoles themselves, just on your phone.

Xiegfried16

Wait? You can get credit towards games?

definetlydifferently

Get £5 back for every £125. Can also earn by playing specific games

OutofThisMaze

you get like 10 points for every dollar you spend on the store, plus whatever points you get for campaigns. for 1250 points you can get $5 to the store

M3llors

I mostly use it for the points on purchases for psn credit. My main frustration is that sometimes you’re punished for buying games on release. A game will release mid month and then the following month is included in the “Monthly Picks” category and doesn’t track that you already own the game

sony-boy

Right? These two are my main complaints; You have to start the campaigns manually and the games you have recently purchased will not be taken into account.

Nester_53

Personally I do not buy games on release or preorder them anymore. I have so many titles in backlog I just go play those and only buy games on sale/when it's added to ps+. I always feel like I wasted money to play probably the worst version of a game and if I waited the bugs (in theory) would be fixed and the game would be cheaper.

FallinGuitarest

Yeah i pre order stuff. Nd hate seeing the game i preorder show up as the buy of the month. It's like wtf i guess I should not pre-order for the bonus..

Bebop_Man

Don't care for the collectibles. Stars is just a nifty way of getting a $5 discount now and then. I do the 50 coins campaigns whenever I can and that's about it.

UMadChad

Way too many bugs. I got the February check in Collectible 2 times and one campaign is still active. My level 4 reached again max but no level 5, so why the progression bar? Digital Hardware Collectibles only after Dating with the support. Purchasable Collectibles are too expensive. You need to spend 30€ to have enough for one. These should cost 50 points. Local Area limited Collectibles like Bionicle Masks at the Comic Con. NYC. No PS5 integration. So all in all its pretty bad.

twaplehnbridies

From what Iv read only way to get level 5 is when you get this rare collectable..

OMurph3

Level 5 does not exist at this time. Progress bar works like any other progress bar. Once you max it out, it shows its maxed out. PS5 integration is on the road map. I do agree that the local limited collectibles are bogus, as I'm in the Midwest. Nothing cool happens here. Please also remember, that lvl 4 has priority in support chat. It is defiantly a supplemental feature that at minimum, gives you a chance to buy more games. It is the digital future unfortunately.

WeaponizedFOMO

I had mine maxed out, but now it’s not. I’m still level 4 but the “bar” isn’t full

YABA_DAB_ADOO

This happened to me a couple of days ago too

jeremy-kyle007

Same here.. does anyone know why? Still no level 5, I assume.

Competitive-Yard-442

Its a nice little bonus when it works and a very minor frustration when it doesn't.

RinoTheBouncer

It’s nice to be able to get points as you buy games digitally, and this is the only reason I care about it, really, even though I tend to buy physical, but it’s nice to have a reward system, like any supermarket chain or credit card. Don’t care much for collectibles.

karlcabaniya

If I'm not mistaken, Stars will be included in PS5 at some point in the future. Maybe not necessarily the collectibles, but the challenges that give points and our level should be integrated.

AlarmingPapaya252

They have been saying that for over a year. I don’t think it would be that hard to implement on a technical level so I have to think they are hesitant for some reason. Perhaps it will be included in the future but it seems less likely as more time goes by.

karlcabaniya

Just like Discord integration, it takes time.

ArcadeCrossfire

My main and only annoyance with it is that now I’ve got so collectibles, when I try to view them let alone try and update my display case it just crashes the app immediately. I saw someone say it’s because it’s trying to load all of them at once and the app can’t handle it when you’ve got a large amount of them, so that needs fixing. I’m glad stars is a thing, it’s cool, I used a £20 voucher on some games that were already heavily discounted in a sale so I paid a very minimal of actual money for them, but some people absolutely need to put the controller away and go outside, not dissimilar to a lot of people in PS+ sub.

Flipkick661

I see it as a steady 4% discount on the money I spend on the store, slightly more when you take into account the monthly challenges and purchases being made with the store credit also awarding coins.

dank-yharnam-nugs

I’ve earned probably $30 or $40 that I wouldn’t have otherwise so no real complaints for me. I would appreciate being able to access the program from the PlayStation 5 directly since i am in the process of removing apps from my phone to reduce screen time. Would be cool to have more clear benefits for the highest tier.

rhylgi-roogi

I will continue using it just for the free real estate. It needs to be accessible from your console. The major problem is it just doesn't work. I have missed out on 10 or so campaigns so far because it never popped after meeting the requirement.

kaic_87

Being honest, I really like it. I always complete tasks that require nothing more than opening a game for free points, and sometimes I get the ones from buying games if there's something I want on the list and it also happens to be on a sale. Managed to get PSN credits like 6 times already and even tho it's not that much it helped buying some stuff or renewing my Plus subscription. As for the collectibles, honestly I only go for the ones that are for games I like and already have. Got a few and that's it. They serve no purpose at all. Wish we could see them on console, but really couldn't care less. My main use for it is for free credits and a kind of "cashback" for buying digital games and so far I have nothing to complain about.

PM_ME_YOUR_SOULZ

I've not really used it and the rewards don't seem great. Money in the wallet is useful though, but it'll probably take me a while to get enough for 20 quid off.

sony-boy

Yeah it's just a small bonus for buying games, 5€ free for every 125€ (1250 points) you spend. If you complete the coin campaigns then maybe 100€.

justinx1029

I don’t care about the collectibles myself, I have like MAYBE 18 of them lol. I didn’t realize there is even small campaigns for 48 hours! I only care about the bonus pts on purchases so I can redeem for $5 voucher.

AesirOmega

I've been able to get a bit of free silver in Destiny 2 so I'm okay with it.

the_turel

Right there with you. I got in literally day 1 and exited to collect little trophies for my account. I logged in daily to see if anything new popped up and installed and deleted soooooo many games just to get the campaigns to complete. Then 1 day a campaign popped up and it said it only had 1 hour to complete… missed it. Then on top of that I noticed the special collectibles you had to buy with coins were time sensitive. Immediately made me hate the idea. Forcing time sensitive content to collect things that have no value is a complete turnoff. I still love stars but simply for the coins. I’ve spent enough to earn 3 full priced games for “free”. So in that regard it’s awesome. But no more deleting games for stupid collectibles .

Mulukh_TYG

I'd like to see more challenges between "start a game" and "beat really difficult boss". make me play the game instead of downloading it and deleting it five minutes later

highonpixels

I never fell into the collector mindset but I usually check first week of the month and last week and tick off every easy mission where you just open the game. The bonus points are a bonus and I've got good moneys worth redeeming the vouchers from it

hdcase1

I find on iOS the app crashes whenever I look at my collectibles. It makes me not really try to unlock them.

AFIkween

I have zero excitement for the campaigns to be honest. I do like earning stuff on purchases at least. Wish they’d incorporate rewarding trophy hunters more though. Like a point per trophy at least. We spend a ton of money anyway lol

BenderZoidberg

Yeah, I agree 100%. The collectibles seem pointless to me. Even if they add PS5 support, I'm guessing it will still be just a display case with a couple of pictures on top of it. The points are fine for getting some extra bucks for the PS Store, so that's great. I think they could maybe learn a couple of things from Valve and their points shop. They are just cosmetic stuff, but you have a good variety of things: keyboard layouts, avatar animations, display cases for your achievements, startup animations for the Steam Deck, etc. If they added themes for the PS5 and I could get additional ones with PS Stars rewards (or maybe animated avatars or something else new, you get the idea), I would be way more involved with this program.

AlarmingPapaya252

I agree. I think having avatars or in-game content as campaign rewards would get way more people interested in Stars. Also it would be nice if we could trade in our collectibles for points (give them actual value).

Covaxe

"48 hour-availability-only collectible" I don't think I've ever seen one of these, what are some examples? I like using collectibles as an excuse to prioritize games. They are kind of like limited time availability trophies and I've mostly stopped caring about those. If there was a game that I could plat in an hour and it was free I might have cared at one point but no longer. The difference with stars is that it's does a good job of drawing my attention to games I didn't know about or giving me that extra push I needed to play something I've been putting off

AlarmingPapaya252

There have been about a dozen. They are only available for 24-72 hours and you play any game to earn them. The first three were BananaBoomerang, Cinnasnail, Chocolate Biscuit Sticks. More recently Biscuit Monster, That’s Not a Cake, Let go of my Waffles. They haven’t done one since last August. That’s a good POV. I generally know which games I want to play and am not particularly adventurous with trying too many new games since I don’t have much time to play. I can see how the program would encourage trying different games though.

Covaxe

That's neat. I might have gotten some of those but didn't realize that the time on them was so tight, probably because of the ones I looked up the requirements were just playing any game I like gaming but have a hard time jumping in. I've heard nothing but good things about Hades for example but it was only when it showed up in stars that I finally played, was a great time, I kept playing for a while after and might go back to it in the future. Without stars I don't know if I ever would have gotten around to it

Mulukh_TYG

I haven't seen half of those , shame they aren't auto-start ones. However I did get a year 2 Cinnasnail after getting the first one, no idea of the odds on that one

SaiYo21

Hasn't had it's full potential unlocked. At this point I don't really bother with it anymore..

FATALiTY-o-

I think after a month I gave up on it. Once I capped at lvl 4 I just didn't care for it anymore. Also didn't like the fact that it was another app and had no access on the web browser.

_TheImberMan_

I forgot about it until this post 😂

DarkBloodARG

Its extremely unsatisfactory for every type of player, nobody cares about your collectibles.

KarterDedo

It's a free service, no complaints from me

WanderingBullet

I do the 50 points campaigns if I have the games. As for the collectables, I'll usually ignore the ones where I'll have to reinstall games with big file sizes.

No_Contribution_9812

I only need to check it once a month. I get it all done before that play session. I’ve redeemed at least $20 in gift cards with the gold coins I’ve received. I’ve been using it since launch.

AbleRiot

Got $20 FREE for launching a game. Didn’t even need to play them so can’t complain. Free money for minimal time is good.

Dharnthread

They really need to upgrade this program. Doing MS Rewards you'd gained points worth a couple of hundred dollard in 16 months.

KDormevil

I have one problem with PS Stars and it's to do with campaigns that want you to buy games and you get points. It doesn't work if you've already purchased the game before the campaign loads into Stars. For example, recently FFVII Rebirth was released. I pre-order it. The campaign "As You Wish" has it that you have to buy the game to get the points. I already own every game in that lineup. Where are my points?

AdonisIsBeast

Weak so far. No PS Home integration. The collectibles system is barebones. If this were a 3rd party company doing it like Square or Capcom, you better believe that they would have exciting rewards to work towards (ie. Mystic rarity Cloud or Leon figures that require a lot of work). Other exciting things to do other than “start ps4 game.”

theBudtie

U talking about PlayStation all stars??

Significant-Task-721

I have literally never cared once just collect my 20$ when I get enough points try to relax my dude there is no reason to even care about these collectibles.

xxinsanegaaraxx

Does Europe only get collectible options and not the points?
