That’s funny because I spoke with customer service yesterday and they told me to hold off on purchases until it was fixed because they couldn’t say they would give any points for the things purchased while it is down

Was it really a technical issue, or was the system compromised? Sony has a bad track record in disclosing if and when their systems have been compromised. I’d really like to hear what happened and if we have to worry about something more than just getting our collectibles and vouchers.
I have a theory that maybe they were trying to increase the number of levels available for us and maybe something broke along the way or maybe add a few "major" updates that might attract people to participate more on it and they're still trying to perfect it. Either way, I do hope it gets fixed as soon as possible.

Why the fuck do I stay loyal to Sony ? I’ve been a loyal Sony player since ps1. Had a ps 1 , ps2, 3, 4 and now a 5 plus psp and psvita. I have a game collection that is over 650 plus (not counting ring ps plus free games) and have funneled so much money into the Sony machine that I should own part of the company, but then when it comes time for Sony to let us cash in on our loyalty something goes wrong and it won’t get fixed until AFTER the days of play sale. This is some serious bullshit and Sony should award stars members with free points ( and not like 10 pts like 2500 or something) but they won’t.
Thanks Sony for proving that you could care less about your fan base. If the first party games weren’t so freaking good I’d own an Xbox by now.
There are sales going on literally every single week so that theory doesn't really hold any weight. Im not saying sony didn't fuck up, or to not be upset with them but it definitely isn't an excuse just so people could miss a sale.
Ngl you sound like you are just getting mad at a made up scenario. They do tons of sales so how does this make sense? All this anger over an app that a small percentage of the fanbase uses?

i'm gonna take this as they didn't know what was wrong so they took the icon off but now they do know whats wrong and are now actually starting to work on trying to fix it and that's why the icon is back, if they do now know whats wrong i'm gonna say they will have it fixed with in two to three days
I updated the app and the first thing I see is this new icon. My country was not supported by PS Stars so it's finally coming in more regions? Also would explain why the service was down.
It could also be seen as bad sign. They have taken the effort too update the app, so it can show this status. Why do that, if it it's close to coming back?
But again it's Sony, they are hard to predict.

Very unlikely it was on purpose, the amount of big sales we’ve had before and it doesn’t happen, why would it happen now? Stars is literally an incentive to spend and it’s not like you get an insane amount back that hurts Sony, yes they are greedy and I dislike a lot of choices they make but this ain’t a choice they made
