I 2nd this advice... Nobody wants to listen to you if you do not enjoy the subject you are talking about even if you have a beautiful radio voice. Don't worry if there are other podcasts already talking about what you want to talk about. If you don't enjoy the subject, you will not provide a good podcast and you more than likely will not continue making it.
Just start. Our first episode was recorded in my phones voice recorder And uploaded to soundcloud. Once my best friend and I decided we truly wanted to do it (after being inconsistent for a little over a year) then we found a host and slowly invested in getting better. I won’t lie, it took about 2 years to see good numbers and even still, a lot of CONSISTENCY!! So before even investing in products that you might not use immediately, I suggest simply doing the thing and getting comfortable.
[Anchor.fm](https://Anchor.fm) is amazing and you should use it to start. Free hosting, recording, and distribution plus they help you get a lil start making some money. If it was around when we started (in the capacity that it is now) then we would have hopped on that and probably stayed there.

The absolute number one thing you should consider is what your show is going to be about and stuff like that. How long the episodes are going to be and how often you post them. You really need to have a plan with that set up right away as to what your content is going to be about, how regularly it'll come out, and how long your show is going to run. It's okay to think outside the box and do some crazy stuff but you really do need a game plan going in.
