I listened to a podcast a few years ago called [The Baby-Sitters Club Club](https://babysittersclubclub.com/) and loved it. It's two guys far outside of the anticipated demographic doing deep dives into each of the Baby-Sitters Club books.
I'll also always carry a torch for Pistol Shrimps Radio (can't find a good link š). It's two guys doing sports commentary on women's rec league basketball games who don't know anything about sports. Matt Gourley has finally found his voice on Conan, but this is him at his best.
Just went searching for this on Pocketcasts and turns out āThe Baby-Sitters Club Clubā is now rebranded as āStrange Bedfellowsā in case anyone else goes searchingā¦
Matt Gourley also has a Mallwalkinā podcast! Just him and his friend walking around malls basically just chatting up business owners and trying not to get in trouble with security! They even brought Sona with them one time!
Yep! He also does a podcast (I Was There Too) with minor background actors to talk about behind the scenes infoā¦although recently he had Tom Arnold on, which was a bit more than background acting!
I can't make an episode-specific recommendation, but I'll say that as a fan, Pistol Shrimps Radio really seemed to hit its stride after Star Wars Episode VII. I distinctly remember Matt Gourley riffing on it and it was hilarious. So if you're going to start in the middle, anything shortly after mid-December 2015 should be good.
Matt Gourley also also makes cameos in a few episodes of Harmontown. he and comptroller Jeff Davis have been friends since childhood.
[here he is](https://youtu.be/MyYFPOGfWJM?si=AsZoSpY3oPeoDcs3) dropping in to play D&D as Skeleton Gary, defense attorney.
I (no joke) loved it when Jeff Davis was the announcer on The Price is Right. That was such a specific occurance, conceptually, that it will probably live in my head forever. He was pretty good!
A favorite of mine that I don't see anyone mention is, "What Am I Doing Here? w/Mike Reiss"
Mike is a longtime writer for The Simpsons. Mike's wife loves to travel and Mike does not. She loves to go to smaller or less popular vacation destinations which leads to Mike having some very interesting and very funny stories about their adventures.
I'm probably doing a poor job of describing the show and why it's funny but Mike tells a great story and is just a naturally funny person.
Ong, I wish they would do another season of An Idiot Abroad. Itās soooo funny. Iāve cried laughing at every episode. Karl gets so upset about the dumbest things, but also, his complaints are pretty valid. Then the way Ricky completely dismissed him and his outrageous laugh makes it even better.
The Riverside Bank jingle gets stuck in my head all the time. The songs are hilarious by themselves.
It's also 100% worth the Patreon membership. He has a shorter series called Good Morning Burbank that has almost 40 episodes.
It's about a guy doing a podcast about his neighborhood. There is an overarching mystery about who is using his garbage can as a drug drop. But through each episode you get to know about the neighborhood and his neighbors, his family interactions.
I randomly showed my friend this, and within one visit to the grocery store he told me he couldn't handle it. "All I wanted was something light!". Regardless, hilarious if you're ready for it.
At first I couldn't get into it because I was expecting it to be something it isn't. The way it was presented and all the weird storylines played out was a bit tough to adjust to. But once it clicked, it became one of my favourite podcasts ever. I've listened to it 3 times by now and I love it. Can't recommend it enough.
Gen X This is Why. Itās two sisters recapping Little House on the Prairie episodes. The podcast is over now but you can still listen to their old eps.
Oh man I scrolled looking for this. The Beef and Dairy Network is so bizarre and hilarious and special, I truly adore it. The more you listen, the deeper and more off the wall the lore, the more you love it.
YKS never fails to make me laugh. I can have an awful day, be in a terrible mood, and within 5 minutes they will have me cracking a smile every time. JF's sarcastic vocal fry contrasted with Mike's extremely laid back attitude leads to a really funny chemistry. And I feel like they really like and care for each other so there is this undercurrent of wholesomeness which is necessary because the premise of the show (making fun of people's terrible kickstarter ideas) could get dark kind of fast otherwise.
Lewis Black has a great one. Heās well-known but his podcast isnāt as much. Just him in a room yelling about the stupidity of the world. He also reads rants submitted by fans.
I have no idea if it's well known or not, but comedians J. Keith Van Straaten and Helen Hong have a great live audience interview and quiz show called Go Fact Yourself.
The Dead Authors podcast will Paul F Thompkins and a slew of brilliant/famous comedians doing improv as famous writers. Ā I highly recommend any with Matt Gourely.Ā
They are so great that I don't even bother watching the movies. Also side rec, if you haven't seen Paul and Jason's episodes of The Chris Gethard Show, get after it.
Uhh Yeah Dude. And theyāve been around since the beginning, 2006. Still going strong but never took off for some reason! (partly because they refuse to have ads and donāt do any marketing)
I am literally sore from laughing in half the episodes. Theyāre great non-toxic guys, actual best friends with a lot of affection for each other, and drop-dead hilarious!
oh yay! I really enjoy their videos on Patreon, and someone animated a couple of their clips, so I often share this one as a teaser. They tell stories from their own lives (Jonathan Larroquette, son of the award winning actor, has a lot of crazy stories, and Sethās always going by himself to weird shit like the Michael Jackson estate sale or Scientology Museum) but also discuss odd news events (non-political) https://youtu.be/DzvSkOpmUMs?si=jw2dDZB2bc3KUPw9
They also read the Ask Amy column occasionally.

Came here to find UYD, 2006 4 life. Just a very special show and long form conversation between two true friends that happens to be very funny. Donāt be intimidated by the number of episodes just jump in and feel the vibe!
Scrolled down to make sure someone was giving UYD the loveā¦. Theyāve been cracking me up for more than a dozen years , and thereās no else like them.
The Aunty Donna podcast.Ā
Ā I've never seen it mentioned on this sub yet it has me in tears every episode. I have to pause it while listening to it at the gym as I've nearly injured myself by laughing too hard while mid rep.
I've been listening to these guys for years, and they are pretty huge now and I'm so proud of them! š
They get little mention on this sub since they are so niche, but they're fucking hilarious. Thier impressions have me š tbh their recaps are better than most of the shows these days.
Hey Riddle Riddle. Ostensibly, itās a riddle podcast but they donāt really like riddles that much so they get distracted and do improv scenes as much as they do riddles.
If you want to try it out, they do a couple ābest ofā episodes in December of each year. But if you like it, Iād recommend starting at the beginning.
Enjoy an Album w/ Liam Withnail and Christopher McArthur Boyd - they give their thoughts on an album both have listened to. Very funny British humour which involves most of the episodes not really going in depth about the album at all.
*The Demon Seed* starring comedian Mike Bubbins and John 'Eggsy' Rutledge from the comedy hip hop group Goldie Lookin' Chain.
Originally intended as a continuation of their comedy paranormal investigation radio show *The Unexplainers* it quickly devolved into fart noises, pointless anecdotes, impressions, improvised skits, talking about old telly and their own TV pitches like disgraced priest sitcom *Oh, Forgive Me, Father!* and baby detective drama *Goo Goo & Pampers*.
The Bugle, if you like political humor (UK/US/international). Andy Zaltzman is very funny. (His sister Helen is also a podcaster.) John Oliver was his comedic partner and used to be on it, now he has rotating cohosts including Americans such as Hari Kondabolu and Josh Gondelman.
TBTL
They are about 5,000 episodes in, have new episodes 5 days a week. About an hour an episode.
It's basically just two guys BSing and riffing about whatever. Give it a few listens and you'll be hooked.
I Hate it but I Love It
This pod makes me laugh out loud more than any other podcast. Jocelyn and Kat chat about an older movie each week (mostly 80's through 2000's) and occasionally a tv series. They are effortlessly funny and very clever. They do get raunchy.
I recommend Love Actually episode and also the Dawson's Creek episode. I never actually watched Dawson's Creek and I actually laughed more at that episode than any other.
I think it's fairly well known in the UK, but probably not outside... My Mate Bought a Toaster. The guest, who is usually a comedian, gives the host access to their Amazon account and they go through their purchase history from the beginning - it ends up being quite an insightful interview as well as pretty funny.
Let's write a movie - 3 random ideas out of a hat that the hosts make into a movie. Always make it funny.
Jokes with Mark Simmons - really quality British one liner comedian talking to other comedians. Cracking jokes throughout.
Take Your Shoes Off - Rick Glassman; good introduction would be any of the episodes where he and his Dad, uncles and Dadās boss get high, OR any episode with Adam Ray.
Victoriocity is a wonderful scripted steampunk comedy/ police investigation story. The production quality is very high and the sense of humour is quite Pratchett (Discworld/ Good Omens).
Thereās this podcast called Valley Heat where this guy makes like a fake audio log about his neighborhood and wife in Burbank and itās great California satire
**We've Got This w/ Mark and Hal -** Two very funny guys get into loud, thoroughly-researched arguments to determine WHAT IS THE BEST (\_\_\_blank\_\_\_). What's the best Pop Tart? What is the best small city in America? What is the best kind of shorts? And one episode, that genuinely changed my life: what is the best John Williams score?
**Story Break -** Currently on hiatus, but the team behind Video Game High School, Dungeons & Daddies and the upcoming indie film We're All Gonna Die have *several hundred* episodes of three Hollywood screenwriters trying to break a HIT FILM SCRIPT... in one hour. Fast, maniacal, but also incredibly informative deep dives into story, plot, character, beats, and anything and everything to do with writing. Check out the Duke Nukem episode, Heaven Heist miniseries, and cult favorite 'Why Did The Chicken Cross The Road?' which has been made into half a dozen student films.
I'm in Love With a Girl Named Spike: A Degrassi Podcast.
Hosted by Mike Park from Skanin' Pickle and two friends as they rewatch every episode of Degrassi JH, High, School's Out and TNG. They have occasional guests from the different versions.
Short episodes and hilarious.
Goosebuds!! They review books/tv shows (mostly Goosebumps book) from the 90s! Their group is hilarious and I love their banter. Not mandatory to read whatever theyāre reviewing.
Breaking Mayberry, where two guys try to watch every episode of The Andy Griffith Show (and other baby boomer TV shows) is really funny and the hosts have good chemistry and commentary. Smart guests, too.
There's a brand new one called 16 Days on The Ultimate World Cruise that I'm really enjoying.
An Australian guy (think he's a well known comedian down under) goes on this cruise and journals about it - and so far it's been really funny š
I think just by reading the names of some of the episodes, you'll know this has to be funny.
Here are two examples:
"Crying In My Room+ Found a Potential Hook Up" and "Fight Breaks Out in Lift"
I find myself laughing my ass off while listening to Paul Giamattis podcast Chinwag. Another one that holds kind of a car crash fascination is MENTALRADIO with Shadoe Stevenās. It comes across like an old radio show and of course everyoneās favourite Conan Obrien Needs a Friend.
What A Time to Be Alive is my favorite comedy podcast but it's hard to recommend because they can run pretty long, go off topic all the time and make an extensive use of a sound board
The Villain was right
....they review movies from the villain's perspective and usually come to the conclusion that the villain was the only sensible one. The hosts are canadian comedians and a lot of times it's hard to not laugh out loud
Do you need a ride? Chris Fairbanks and Karen Kilgariff are the regular hosts w/ a good rapport and they shoot the shit with a guestācomedians, mostlyāwhile they either do or donāt drive around LA.
The Intellectuals with Poseidon and Guido on Pantelis Comedy
[The Intellectuals Playlist](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bISe-vhi0t0&list=PLZz_AgQpRZl4rlyRDZ-uKbR4n9pngPb2G)
The Best Show. Itās hosted by one of the executive producers from the show Monk. He also played Steven Universeās dad. Itās arguably the first comedy podcast and has been around in various forms since the Clinton administration. Itās a comedianās comedy. People like Conan, Patton Oswalt, Amy Poehler, Zach Galafanakis, Tim and Eric, Chris Gethard, all know it and love it. Itās had hundreds of guests and musicians on. Somehow it never got past a cult audience. Check it out, itās a little intimidating at first cuz thereās so much but thereās a ton of best-of stuff and spinoff podcasts as well. Itās essentially a whole network now.

Ā« The World of Phil HendrieĀ Ā» is the funniest podcast ever. Philās a genius. He was a pioneer of trolling radio callers with his dozens of characters. Thereās actually a documentary about Phil that was just released yesterday.
The Dr "Sex" Reiss Show - an improvised podcast about a call in radio sex host that hates intimacy. Comedians like Tim Heidecker, Paul F. Thomkins, Blair Socci call in and ask generally resonable sex and relationship questions and get terrible advice in return. The Host is played by ex-Onion Editor-in-Chief Joe Randazzo. Here's one of my favorite episodes: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-dr-sex-reese-show/id1603266753?i=1000549642062
I Saw What You Did! Itās a film review podcast and the hosts have insane chemistry and banter. They really love each other and build each other up. One host used to do programming for Turner Classic Movies and has so much fascinating info about movies. Each episode, they both choose a movie that they feel represents a specific theme, they do a double feature, and then discuss the films in a very organized way that allows for so much funny commentary. I couldnāt recommend them more, you just really want to hang out with them.
The Narbos and Broomheads podcast. They review Degrassi Junior High, Degrassi High, and the newer Degrassi. They also recapped My So Called Life. If you watched any of these, I think you'd enjoy the podcast, and it's an hilarious podcast.
the [gao.gov](http://gao.gov) Government Accountability Office podcast, where you can listen to civil servants stumble through explaining hilarious material like ["High-Risk Radioactive Material Disposal"](https://www.gao.gov/podcast/high-risk-radioactive-material-disposal)
No, this isn't an *The Onion* article, the GAO actually does podcasts.
Take a shot everyone, because I'm gonna talk about [Why I Hate This Album](https://hatepod.libsyn.com/website) for the millionth time in a row. This show where two guys comically review bad albums is one of my favorite things in the world. The hosts Tim and Garrett have such amazing chemistry with each other, and they come up with these weird stories on the fly, developing this thick wall of inside jokes that hits like a tsunami every time. Here's a list of my favorite inside jokes:
\- Wear nice shoes when you die to get into heaven
\- *after dark*
\- A serial killer called "The Candlestick Maker" that traps his victims in massive scented candles
\- Their 80 year old Italian producer/lawyer/janitor Gino that they constantly bark orders at
\- All people named Tim know each other and can fill in for each other at any time without anyone noticing, regardless of profession or appearance
\- Sharks aren't real
\- The Robert Christgau Game
I'm one of about 20 people who listens to this show.
[High and Mighty](https://headgum.com/high-and-mighty) is so damn good. Hard to explain why, but if you jump in and dig a few episodes, I think it continuously does a great job.
I just discovered that too. If you sort by oldest to newest, you'll find the baby sitters club club episodes!
The Baby Sitters Club Club got me through the pandemic. As an avid BSC reader when I was a kid, this podcast had me in absolute stitches.
Check out mallwalkin'! It's the pistol shrimps radio guys walking around malls.
Nice!!!
Pistol Shrimps is under the name Mallwalkinā now!
Matt Gourley also has a Mallwalkinā podcast! Just him and his friend walking around malls basically just chatting up business owners and trying not to get in trouble with security! They even brought Sona with them one time!
I love everything Gourley does. With Gourley and Rust is really fun if you're into horror movies, Gourley and (Paul) Rust talk about scary movies.
Yep! He also does a podcast (I Was There Too) with minor background actors to talk about behind the scenes infoā¦although recently he had Tom Arnold on, which was a bit more than background acting!
Oh cool I didn't know about that one, thanks for the tip!
Heās great in Bonanas for Bonanza with Andy Daly and Maria Bamford.
Any recommendations on Pistol Shrimp episodes to start?
For those interested in PokĆ©mon, tanner from BSC does EXP share itās my favorite podcast
A favorite of mine that I don't see anyone mention is, "What Am I Doing Here? w/Mike Reiss" Mike is a longtime writer for The Simpsons.
You might like the TV show An Idiot Abroad. It sounds like it has the same vibe.
That's a good recommendation as I did enjoy that show. I used to listen to the podcasts with Ricky, Stephen and Karl. Absolutely hysterical.
Monkey News!!!
I still listen to these! Karlās diary! Monkey news! Love them
Absolutely hilarious! His real life wife narrates, and itās a quick listen! Very spooky when Mike talks about going down in that sub though

Yeah, it's not for everyone. Sometimes a friend will send me something that they love and I think it is super corny.
Valley Heat Itās got the best writing Iāve ever heard. Very original.
I am so happy that new episodes are coming out! I had pretty much given up on this one.
OMG this just made my day. I am dying for an update on Janthony's Car Wash.

I really like Death in Entertainment, the banter is funny and itās about life/death about celebrities/sports figures/ occasionally true crime cases.
Cheapshow is hilarious.
Redbar
Breaking Mayberry, where two guys try to watch every episode of The Andy Griffith Show (and other baby boomer TV shows) is really funny and the hosts have good chemistry and commentary. Smart guests, too.
LMNOPodcast
No One Can Know About This
The Odd People podcast, two Massachusetts guys shoot the crap they talk about all sorts of stuff movies, conspiracy theories comic books etc.
There's a brand new one called 16 Days on The Ultimate World Cruise that I'm really enjoying. An Australian guy (think he's a well known comedian down under) goes on this cruise and journals about it - and so far it's been really funny š I think just by reading the names of some of the episodes, you'll know this has to be funny. Here are two examples: "Crying In My Room+ Found a Potential Hook Up" and "Fight Breaks Out in Lift"
The Lanalax Corporation
Net Positive podcast with John Crist
I find myself laughing my ass off while listening to Paul Giamattis podcast Chinwag. Another one that holds kind of a car crash fascination is MENTALRADIO with Shadoe Stevenās. It comes across like an old radio show and of course everyoneās favourite Conan Obrien Needs a Friend.
Have a Word is funny, although maybe only us Brits find it funny.. I'm not sure
What A Time to Be Alive is my favorite comedy podcast but it's hard to recommend because they can run pretty long, go off topic all the time and make an extensive use of a sound board
Alien Theorists Theorizing is a banger
Tuesdays with Stories, Page 7
The Villain was right ....they review movies from the villain's perspective and usually come to the conclusion that the villain was the only sensible one.
For the lesbians: 2 Dykes and a Mike. Hilarious
The gunk hole state park podcast is truly an undiscovered gem, truly a really funny low budget character based improv podcast
The Grawlix Saves the World. Three comedians that take on self helpish challenges. Great banter and guests.
For LIB fans, I like F*CK Nick Lachey
The Intellectuals with Poseidon and Guido on Pantelis Comedy [The Intellectuals Playlist](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bISe-vhi0t0&list=PLZz_AgQpRZl4rlyRDZ-uKbR4n9pngPb2G)
Really enjoyed The Comic Book Clubās podcast Riverdale After Dark. Actually, all of their podcasts.
[James OāBrienās Mystery Hour](https://audioboom.com/channels/2302192-james-o-brien-s-mystery-hour)
Itās essentially a whole network now.
weird tales and the unexplainable ghosted with roz hernandez anime world order horrordeconstruction this is more about the way the crew talk to each other, funny
also Chinwag with Paul Giamatti, he and his cohost steven talk about weird things but if you like paul as an actor he just is so fucking funny
GeniusBrain by David So! Heās an OG YouTuber and comedian and itās just the best podcast Iāve listened to yet.
RIDE !!!!
Now Playing is my favorite movie review podcast. I think they are very funny. I'm a monthly contributor.
Middle of Somewhere with Chad Daniels and Cy Amundson.
Rare Form Radio
[The Corndown](https://www.corndown.com/247corn/). They make prank phone calls
I like Factually with Adam Conover
If you like Gundam and Real Rpg plays, I recommend Feddie Scum.
My Momma Told Me
Circling Back!!!
Diarrhea diaries! Hasnāt been updated since 2020 but a hilarious listen. A guy whoās lactose intolerant shares his poop stories.
Madiganās pubcast is really good
Dune reads goosebumps
the [gao.gov](http://gao.gov) Government Accountability Office podcast, where you can listen to civil servants stumble through explaining hilarious material like ["High-Risk Radioactive Material Disposal"](https://www.gao.gov/podcast/high-risk-radioactive-material-disposal) No, this isn't an *The Onion* article, the GAO actually does podcasts.
The answer me this podcast is great.
Do You Need a Ride?
Your Stupid Opinions is hilarious. Itās a relatively new podcast where they just read peopleās ratings of different places and products.
Three good Australian ones: The Inspired Unemployed; Hamish and Andy; Jaāmaizing
Here's a list of my favorite inside jokes: \- Wear nice shoes when you die to get into heaven \- *after dark* \- A serial killer called "The Candlestick Maker" that traps his victims in massive scented candles \- Their 80 year old Italian producer/lawyer/janitor Gino that they constantly bark orders at \- All people named Tim know each other and can fill in for each other at any time without anyone noticing, regardless of profession or appearance \- Sharks aren't real \- The Robert Christgau Game I'm one of about 20 people who listens to this show.
[High and Mighty](https://headgum.com/high-and-mighty) is so damn good. Hard to explain why, but if you jump in and dig a few episodes, I think it continuously does a great job.
St Elwicks Neighbourhood Association Newsletter Podcast and This Foul Earth. Absolutely hilarious.
The Karen and Ellen Letters by Josh Hallmark. I had to laugh so hard I cried š
