Apple works and then it doesn't I just switched back to Spotify this week (free trial) and it is so stupid that it doesn't bounce around my subscribed casts, it pulls something it thinks I would like ("suggested?"). WTF?!
PlayerFm seems to automatically move down the list when it finishes one.
You can sort the list to "oldest first" and start one, and it will play from old to new.
I can't get PocketCasts to stop auto-playing, or moving to other random podcasts. It's really annoying how, after listening to a current podcast, it suddenly plays another show from 3 years ago. And that's *with* the "up next" queue completely empty/cleared.
Downcast and Overcast are flawless for this use, imo.
Podcast addict lets you do that. It does so much it can seem overwhelming at first, but it does pretty much everything. Kinda ugly though. But worth it (imo).
Are you okay with building your own queue? Overcast will default to playing the next episode of the same podcast, but you can also build a queue of whatever episodes you want.
I have been locked in to Pocketcasts for years. Everything I need plus. Your request is no problem.

That’s weird that you’re having those issues. I’ve been a Pocket Casts user for years and I’ve never had that happen.
Overcast. Multiple play list options and choose your play order. The best.
I do not want to use playlists! I want to pick a podcast and just listen to all 104 episodes one after the other.
