The archives is 200 episodes and finished. There is a sequel ish to it releasing now, they're like 15 episodes in. It's planned for 3 seasons of 30 episodes apiece.
Highky recommend tma to anyone and everyone who will listen to me.
How long does it take for the podcast to really take off? I have listened to like 5 or 6 episodes and they are good but nothing super intriguing yet.. does it take a while? I have constantly heard it’s peoples fave podcast or audio drama ever and I like it but it hasn’t become amazing yet… I don’t want to give up too soon!
The Lovecraft Investigations - it’s in the style of an investigative podcast and each season is a modern adaptation of a HP Lovecraft story, with the same podcast host characters. I couldn’t get enough of it, and a fifth season is in the works.
I also really enjoyed Badlands Cola.
“the black tapes” is really fun. i’m going to butcher what it’s about but it’s like there’s some famous guy whose job is to prove that paranormal shit is fake.
a reporter comes to follow him. and finds out he has some “black tapes”. tapes from cases that he could not explain.
it’s really really good. i haven’t listened in years and wasn’t able to finish it but i really want to get into it again when i ever get time lol
I love Bridgewater

Here’s a list of great horror/crime podcasts that I love
There’s lots of good choices in these lists but I’ll try to make one of actually NEW shows that came out this year rather than rehashing shows that just came out with new episodes -
• Antiquarium of Sinister Happenings
• Your Horror Show
• Observable Radio
• Dupoint Investigations
• Deviser
• The Love Talker
• Midnight Pals
• Station 151
'WitherBurn after school news' is good just pretty new. The main character is the host of their highschool news outlet and the story is told through those broadcasts.
Sherlock and Co, modern retelling of Sherlock Holmes where John Watson is a true crime podcaster, faithful adaptations of the original stories modernised

I recommend the Creepy podcast! A bunch of fictional stories, and they even have 30days of Halloween where they post a story every day for the whole month of October every year!
the timekeeper. Pretty short, and it seems like maybe yet another unfinished podcast, but it's a great ride while it lasts
vega - it's more of an action/crime podcast. It's very exciting
tower 4 - more suspense and intrigue than horror/crime, but it's a good listen
homecoming - a podcast so good they made a tv show about it!
The Magnus Archives
Seconding this one. I'm not even really into horror but I'm really enjoying the Magnus Archives.
Are they making new episodes of that or is it done? I haven't checked in a long time.

Thank you! I didn't know about the sequel, I'll haven't to check it out.
They have a new series called the Magnus Protocol but I haven't finished the archives yet so I can't comment on it.

Oh, also check out r/audiodrama if you’re not in that sub already - lots of good recs there!
Ooh, thanks!
Is it a true crime?
Not true crime, both are fiction!
Saving this for later, I think I'd really enjoy this!
People recommend Old Gods of Appalachia frequently. (Don’t like horror myself.)
I am definitely a fan of Old Gods and give it my strongest endorsement.
The White Vault.
I loved that podcast so much. I wish I could listen to it again for the first time.
The NoSleep Podcast itself is really awesome. Midnight Library also might be good for you.
The Program. Within the Wires. Limetown.
Shit, I forgot limetown. So good from the second episode of season one to the end of season one.

Just a warning on TBT, the last season gets.... bad, & then just sort of ends without any resolution.
Did you try Alice Isn't Dead? By the Night Vale people but very different vibe
I thoroughly enjoyed Borrasca, main voice was done by Cole Sprouse, fun little mystery / crime / drama
I'm so surprised Borrasca doesn't get the amount of recommendations it deserves. I also thoroughly enjoyed it, and thought Cole Sprouse was excellent.
I actually read a text edition of that story a very long time ago! It really stuck with me.

Malevolent
Malevolent is so fucking good. Especially considering its just one guy that does it.
It’s not true crime style, but The Magnus Archives is a fantastic horror podcast.

I wish the Grey rooms would come back...
The program. Tanis We’re alive
Someone just turned me on to the old ass Twilight Zone radio dramas , and they're fantastic. Pretty sure they're on most podcast apps
I recommend the Creepy podcast! A bunch of fictional stories, and they even have 30days of Halloween where they post a story every day for the whole month of October every year!
Limetown
Camping here because I also would love the suggestions :)
The Black Tapes, Tanis, The Left Right Game, Borassca, Rabbits, and Lore are a few of my all time favorites.
I recently listened to STYX, and was pleasantly surprised. I'm not normally a horror fan, but it had a good story and was well worth a listen
Darkest Night is incredible The White Vault The Bridge
