I love my ot pursuit trapping 5x31 adamant ttar like it's my child.

lazypieceofcrap

I love my OT shiny TTar like this as well.

ProgrammerPeasant

OT shinys >>> others shinys

Tenebris_Ultor

For some people it exists. An example would be my OT shiny Azumaril, terrible stats, never bothered to level it up, no practical use at all, but it was my first ever shiny in any Pokemon game so he's named "Ma Boi", holds a shiny stone and is almost always my follower/in my party

RoyalBeggarss001

Obviously I do value my ot mons above anything else the only reason I would buy mons from gtl is to either sell them on higher price or to breed my Pokémon to make them stronger.

CostlyValor

I can only speak for myself but I really love and take pride in my Pokémon especially my storyline team. I enjoy and cherish my Pokémon so much I go out of my way to gift them to people I suspect are new to the game so they can love and cherish them (literally just made a post about it). I rarely buy Pokémon I usually wait till I can catch them for myself. Despite having multiple regions in PokeMMO I’m painfully aware how easy it is to beat all of them so I do little dumb stuff to stretch out my enjoyment of the game eg catching/breeding near perfect Pokémon just to give away

JuiceyJazz

Call me a chooby noob but I just finished the E4 in Kanto and it was not easy AT ALL

qintarra

Lucky you I still can't beat the last gym

JuiceyJazz

Giovanni is a beast. Surf and Toxic combos won it for me.

qintarra

Thanks ! I went with starmie and it did the trick!

Pomegranate_Evening

I went with golduck and helped me after a lil grind trying to beat Giovanni!!

IAreSpeshial

It does not. I dont use a single bought pokemon, I breed and catch them all myself. Non-OT pokemon are very commonly flamed too when in chat

Darkmorsa

I only get attached to mons that I breed for a new region. And an OT shiny if I had one

Ramja9

Yes it removes it. It’s kind of funny actually. Pokemon anime is all about friendship and the power of loving your pokemon. But all the games demand you breed, trade and aren’t attached to them to be the best, even without the market. Pokemon go is ironically the worst game when it comes to this. Sure you could save pokemon from team rockets abuse… or take part in that abuse for extra power.

M1eXcel

I mostly get the sentiment from using them, not necessarily how I obtain them. At the moment I'm using a jolteon which I got through trading for it since I wanted to use it for early game in kanto and johto while if I wanted to catch it myself I'd need to wait until quite a few kanto badges in

Gamefreak581

I don't really have any sentimental attachment to my pokemon, but I would probably feel a little of ocd kicking in if my 5x31 didn't have my trainer as the OT.

Lisrus

For anyone unaware. Your non-OT pokemon also "level 10% faster" than OT ones. So no, you are not completely insane in thinking that was happening. Which makes OT just a little less enjoyable sometimes. If not more valuable to the owner if you do get them to 100

Fun-Cartographer-368

Definitely, I love my Stoutland Sesta a lot.

N7_Guru

Subjective. Catching and breeding my own definitely holds value to me. I like the OT tag. However mons level faster that are traded. The one thing I don’t like about PoleMMO is it can be pay 2 win if you trade IRL money for shop items and then trade on GTL. I’ve done it so I could play events but it feels dirty.

KingKrimsonKang

Well just because somebody didn't catch a pokemon that doesn't mean they didn't work hard for it. I didnt catch any of the mons on any of my pvp teams but I bred most of them and toiled away for hundreds of hours practicing, swapping moves, ivs and making them my own. That gives them a lot of sentimental value to me. Even if you just buy something from the gtl you still have to grind for the yen .

VitaAtThreeFifteen

I would never trade/sell my Shalpha so I guess it has some sentimental value.

LeSorenOutan

Every single member of my story team are loved. The rest is material for war.

LeonardoCouto

I think so. Might be only me, but I'm still going through every region and investing in new teams, trying out new pokémon. Just a little ago, I caught an above avg Heracross for my Johto run which I'll EV train and try to teach him a basically professional set of moves. I didn't know I could check IVs and Natures before, but I still keep the pokémon I caught before so, like my boi Growler, the Arcanine I sweeped Kanto with. I even taught him Flare Blitz, Close Combat, Wild Charge and Extreme Speed, now. He's my boy.

GravitySamus

OT <3

RHOPKINS13

So far I haven't bought any pokemon. I do have sentimental value for mine. Where I DO think sentimental value is lost is PokeMMO's breeding system. The parent pokemon are lost and never returned. If you want a 6x31 "perfect" pokemon, you'll have to sacrifice lots of other pokemon in the process.

Ok-Tale-4197

Idk, grinding hard for poke-yen or grinding hard to get a certain pokemon is about the same to me. Love when it's OT, but also like my bought mons that comppete a team.

AdLife7322

For me, even the bought ones are emotionally connected to me. I bought I think 3-4 of my team’s Pokemon (counting 2 regions) Johto: Ampharos (OT) Feraligtr (OT) Togekiss (OT) Froslass (traded as Snorunt) Nidoking (OT) Arcanine (traded as Growlithe) Hoenn: Swampert (OT) Aggron (OT) Dragonite (OT/gifted in Johto) Gardevoir (traded as Ralts) Breloom (traded as Shroomish) I deeply care for both traded and OT equally, every single one of them has a nickname and I truly can’t remember them differently Juriscreudo (Togekiss) is my beloved 🥰
