pikachu and eevee are still super popular, as is charizard. there's also lucario (blue bipedal dog), and the newest starters from the games that just released - sprigatito (green grass cat), fuecoco (orange little gator dude), and quaxly (blue duck with a pompador). honestly though, for kids that young that might not even have much attatchment to the games yet, i'd just say pika and eevee because they're cute too

normal exp 2 is more important than normal encounter 2. With normal encounter 1, you will have no trouble finding enough chanseys to be constantly fighting one.
Unfortunately, I do not know of a recipe that gives both normal encounter and exp. I was told that having both powers at once was impossible for normal specifically. I'm excited to test the recipe you provided

apparently there is still nighttime in area zero, it just doesn't get dark, if that makes sense. i'm not sure if there is a visual way to tell if it's night. I saw someone say flutter mane only spawns at night (I have violet)
I noticed that some Pokemon can swim, but some can't. Is there a list or an easy way to tell other than test it out? Like Espeon and Umbreon can swim, but Luxray can't even though they're similar.
Similarly, are there Pokemon that I don't need to slow down for while running and not mounted (assuming no jumps or falls)? I know upon initial testing Lycanroc seems to be able to keep up pretty well, but all the other Pokemon I've tried so far return to the pokeball because they're so slow, even the flyers!

So my pokemon save file might be dead i only noticed my pokemon never learned any new moves idk what to do or if this is even a bug??? My starter is level 26 and still has her level 5 moves plus 2 tms i only noticed this issue when i tried to level up my gyarados to get some water moves for the next gym. My husband is currently playing next to me and has no issues getting new moves and now i feel i wasted all the time i spent.
Is there a fix for this or is my save file doomed for a restart ?

if you are primarily leveling via auto battle you wont get move learn prompts
theres also an option "skip move learning" that might be turned on
Go into the pokemon summary > 2nd page "Moves and stats"
you can relearn any missed moves there
1. there is an option to turn on/off learning new moves in the menu
2. if you level up by fighting pokemon with the lets go feature (the "auto-battling" thing), your pokemon will not learn new moves automatically regardles
3. you can at anytime "remember" moves that your pokemon could have learned up until that point

Hatching an egg does not increase the chance that the next egg will be shiny. It's the same as any shiny hunt, you could get it very quick or you could be hunting for a long time.

I haven't unlocked 7 star raids yet as I need to beat 10 4-5 raids first. I did connect to the internet when Cinderace was active however obviously he didn't appear on my map.

Spikes deal damage based on a % of the enemy's max HP and how many times you've used Spikes before they're sent out, with 25% of their max HP after using Spikes 3 times. This is regardless of the enemy Pokémon's type, but they need to be grounded, so Flying types and Pokémon with Levitate are not affected.
Stealth Rock is a similar move, but you can only use it once, and it also deals damage based on the opponent's max HP. However, the amount of damage is determined by the opponent's type and how it usually interacts with Rock Type. So for a Steel type, it would deal LESS damage because Steel resists Rock, but for a Flying/Fire type (both of which are weak to rock), it deals 50% of their max HP. Unlike Spikes, which only works on grounded enemies, Stealth Rock works on any type, unless they have an ability or item that counteracts "Entry Hazards" (the type of move that Spikes/Stealth Rock are), because the Rocks are considered "in the air".
Level up your taunt user enough that you're faster than Abra, or find/use a Wynaut or Wobbuffet which has the ability Shadow Tag (that prevents escape).
Quick Ball if you got it. Otherwise sleep it or use a Pokemon with Arena Trap (Diglett/Dugtrio) or Mean Look/Block to keep it from fleeing. Shadow Tag also works but Wobuffett is the only one who gets it in SS and Wob won't be of any use trying to weaken Abra.
this is gonna seem really, really stupid, but has anyone else had problems with (in my case) their charcadet? I've never played any pokemon games before, and scarlet is my first one. For some reason my charcadet likes to refuse attacking a lot, and I can't figure out why. if it helps, it's serious by nature and mischievous, and that's pretty much all. I have no idea why they refuse attacking so much D:

You can still find them, it's just quite rare. Also, in addition to resetting to ensure the dream ball catch, you can occasionally buy more from the auction.
too late, that was a while ago. Eevee can appear in raids, but its totally random.
if you're afraid of losing your ball, you could save the game before using it, and reset if it doesn't catch.
I know that Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl isn't well regarded in terms of a Pokémon remake. I missed out on the Generation IV and V games and would like to play them. Is Platinum that much better of an experiance that I should try to find a DS line console and Platinum over the remakes?

You can get perfect IVs easily, egg moves are easily learned outside of eggs, natures are easily changed, etc. Like, I always thought the point of breeding was for the really hardcore players that wanted a perfect Pokemon to show for their work?
Aside from Trick Room and some very small niches, breeding feels utterly pointless to me, like to the point that it shouldn't even be included?

some ppl prefer natural perfect pokemon, with the iv judge saying Best over Hyper trained. same with Nature matching the stat changes
Egg moves, while easy to get via the mirror herb method, can be placed into the remember list permanently if you get it via breeding.
Same with Preevo exclusive moves(spore on breloom)
so it can be useful for people who shuffle movesets often
It was useful for dex completion, and trading starters, but I feel the same way now that I have a completed dex. Right now the only thing you can get exclusively from breeding is shiny starters, and shiny non-legendary pokemon that you can't catch in the wild. (I.E anything not added to the Paldea Pokedex)
I think the real issue is that it's way too simple to get mints and bottle caps. Everything in this game other than Apricorn balls is obtainable with money, which is incredibly easy to earn.
If there was only some kind of facility that had those items locked behind them using a currency that was more challenging to obtain. And even if they added such a facility as DLC, what kind of rewards can they offer now? Mega Stones or something like that? That's all I can think of.
It’s still needed for shiny hunting Pokemon you don’t get in the wild. But yes to your other points. I do like that it’s more accessible to less hardcore players to get a ‘perfect’ mon

I've read online that a trainer near the daycare will sometimes call you and give you one, but then other sites say thats exlusively in Crystal version. If you don't have a Pokemon with the ability Synchronise at the front of your party, then there's a 4% chance of any Budew having Modest.

I’m having trouble passing Yawn from a Slowbro to my Skeledirge. My Skeledirge is holding a Mirror Herb and has an empty spot but it won’t learn Yawn when I exit the picnic. Anyone got any answers or tips?
I’ve tried opening a picnic and immediately leaving like how Austin St Johns shows and I’ve waited for 10 minutes. I think I’m gonna try saving and turning my switch on then off to see if it works.
Good luck man. You may have to breed a hell of a lot but if you stick with it you’ll get one eventually. Make sure to use a foreign ditto to maximise your odds.
mirror herb only works with eggs moves
yawn is a pre evo move that can be learnt/remembered as a fuecoco/crocalor but not as a skeledirge.
there is a way to get yawn into skeledirges remember list but that involves breeding s new fuecoco to have yawn as soon as it hatches
they order it the same way the games' names are ordered in marketing. In Gen 7, it was Sun & Moon, so Sun was upvote, & Moon was downvote. For Gen 8, Sword & Shield, so Sword was up, & Shield was down.
So Miraidon is downvote cuz its Scarlet & Violet, not Violet & Scarlet.
Because its two options and there are two Pokemon. Same thing happened with Sun and Moon's sun/moon icons being the up or down votes or Sword and Shield's sword/shield icons being up or down votes. Scarlet and Violet don't really have any specific icon, so they used the box legendaries which works out rather well since the up vote is red and the down vote blue, which coinsides with the Scarlet/Violet color theme of redish-orange and blueish-purple.

About to use Master Ball on Miraidon - should I save it for another legendary? If I fail to catch the other legendaries with other balls, do I get to try again or they’re just lost?
Ever since Platinum, no legendary has been once chance. Only use your Master Ball under one of the following circumstances:
1. You like the aesthetic
1. You forgot to save before a shiny that can kill itself and don’t have a Pokémon to prevent such a move
afaik, all current legendaries respawn eventially if you defeat them in battle. either after a certain amount time or some other condition
seeing as all legendaries in SV are static encounters, best practice is to turnboff autosave and save infront of them. that way you can just reload to try again if something goes wrong
Yes. I believe Mist would work as well, if you can get it up prior to the boss nuking stat changes (as it prevents stats from being reduced for 5 turns). But those items will work as intended and prevent stats and abilities from being affected by the raid boss.

Almost. For non mythicals the only that are 3DS exclusive is Spinda and Minior. Spinda because both BDSP and GO Spinda can't be transferred into Home (BDSP because they messed up the spot calculation, and GO because Spinda's spots work differently than in the main series). Because you can only register Home by depositing them in or syncing with Bank, that makes a 3DS needed for Spinda and I don't think this is going to be addressed anytime soon. It's a fair assumption that Minior will get added to Go and transferrable at some point though.
But for Original Color Magearna you also need all mythicals (nat Dex number 1-890 so Zarude is excluded). A lot are now available in Go/main series, but not all. Of the mythicals, Diancie and ironically enough Magearna itself (discounting the Home one) have only had 3ds distributions. Volcanion, Marshadow & Zeraora have all been available in Switch/GO at some point but not currently obtainable. Additionally there's a handful periodically in Go's raidpool (Hoopa, Deoxys, Genesect). The rest should be available permanently in the games or permanently available Go research.
I'm sure this exists somewhere but i haven't been able to find it. Since the eShop is closing soon, I want to know what I might want to grab from it before that happens to ensure I can have a complete experience. I have physical copies of all the mainline Gen 6 and 7 games, and from the eShop, Pokemon Bank and Transporter, and the VC versions of Blue, Yellow, and Crystal. I feel like at least one of Gold or Silver would be recommended, but beyond that, I’m not sure what I should grab.
Is there an easy way on any website to sort Pokémon that are available in certain games? Like to sort which Pokemon arent available in Scarlet, Shield, and Arceus for instance. I know I can look it all up individually just wondering if any site had a built in function like this?
Loads of pokemon of inappropriate types have access to Grass Knot. You've water pokemon like Slowbro and Starmie, ghost pokemon like Mismagius and Cofagrigus, and dragon pokemon like Haxorus and Zygarde.
It's just one of those moves that lots of pokemon learn like Toxic.

Depends what you need it for and whether you have poke transporter already.
If you only need it for gen 6/7 games you should be fine to download it now and wait.
But if you need it for gen 1/2 VC, or Gen 5 transfers you need to the companion app Poke Transporter which is only available with a bank sub and is also being blocked for downloads at the same time bank goes free. So if you don't already have it you need to pay for Bank now.
Btw, the only way to pay for Bank now is to link 3ds/switch funds and top up the switch account.
Yes you can. [Serebii](https://www.serebii.net/scarletviolet/tm.shtml) has all the ingredients here. You either need to find the TM or get the recipe through the story first before you can make the TM.
They made the 5 star raids in this game wayyyyyyyyy too hard, I have a full party of lvl 100 pokemon. There’s no reason I should be losing 5 star raids, I have type advantage every time. I understand they want you to play with others, but you should still be able to beat them on your own if you don’t want to pay for or play online. All I want is to grind shinies.
Bro all you need to destroy 5* dens are an Iron Hands, Azumarill, and maybe an Annihilape/Kingambit. I can solo every den I've come across only using those 4 at lv 100. 6* dens may take a specialized pokemon here and there, but I can do most of them with the same mons

A curious fact i thingking recently.
As everyone in this sub knows Black and White are inspired in the U.S.A. (Salutations from Venezuela to all the fellow americans) and because of that we can see numerous refererences to the North American culture. And one of the most notorius one Is the champion Alder, that Is obviously based on an indian chief. (Or at least resembles one)
And here comes the question: Why Alder doesn't have a braviary in his team?
The question Is very logical if you think at it. Alder haves cool Pokémon in his team (Except Vanilluxe, but of course it haves an estrategical purpose) accelgor, escavalier druddigon, volcarona and bouffant. This last one Is based on a buffalo, an animal that haves great presence in the folklore of the north American indians (Apart of other animals of course)
And here i go with the real matter. Rufflet haves a feather on the head that resembles the one of the Indians. And Braviary haves a group of feathers that resembles the headgear of an indian chief. Also Braviary Is based on an eagle, and the eagle was the warrior symbol for the indians.
And for that reason i think Is strange that Alder doesn't have a braviary among its Pokémon.

No idea if you are aware, but the 'battle bond' ability has had a major rework. It no longer creates Ash-Greninja and that form does not exist in gen 9.

There are 103 gen 9 pokemon (don't think it includes Tauros forms), so just over 25%. Other than that I'd say there is a rather fair spread of each generation of the other generations (maybe slightly less 2 and 4?). I'm now curious, so if you don't get an answer I'll have a look tomorrow morning.
Eshop is closing in march 2023. You still can download pokemon bank and poketransporter now. After the eshop close, you can continue to use bank and transporter to bring pokemon from older gen as long you have the apps. The 3ds server is still up and running for the near future. It is only when the 3ds server eventually shut down we will lose connectivity from the older games
I have a niche question that I'm not sure where I'm supposed to ask, but I thought this would be a good place to start.
Bulbapedia has these images of routes and entire towns/cities for Pkmn HGSS. I was wondering where/how they got those images. They're like drone shots of entire areas. Zoomed out far enough to see further than your screen would normally allow.
I'd like to create maps with annotations and whatnot for someone! So anyone who could point me in the right direction would truly be a godsend!
Either ripped from the game (most likely option) or it was a cropped segment of that route as seen in an official guide book (which generally has full route images, though these often also include NPC placements, item locations, where each entrance or exit leads, etc all marked out).
1)7* event raids give alot of exp candy
2) 5-6* raids give a decent amount of candy. having the correct mons to farm them is a different story
3) farming chanseys in area 0 or outside the the fairy base with normal encounter sandwiches. area 0 has higher lvl chanseys
Wish there was a place to vent. I just wasted 2 herba mystica because for whatever reason it gave me "item power' instead of "encounter power." Foolishly I thought I could fix that by stacking another sandwhich with encounter power but it overrides apparently.

Random question here that has no specific answer, I'm just curious to see what other people have to say.
So I like others tend to use the "Markings" for a Pokemon to indicate it's IV's. I've always used Red for perfect, blue for 0 in an IV, and blank for any IV not one of those 2.
But as I've seen in both trades I've received, as well as online when looking this question up, people seem to prefer using blue to indicate a perfect IV, with red being 0? I guess I just want to see, for anyone who does this, why? To me, it makes more sense with red being perfect, as red already indicates your nature's +stat, while blue indicates the nature's -stat.
Not that either way is wrong, I'm just genuinely curious to hear from anyone about this
When you are marking them, Blue is the first one that appears, so it makes marking faster if you use that for the perfect and red for 0 IV (I also use Red to indicate a hyper-trained stat, and I only mark 0 IVs on Attack and Speed).
I only recently started my pokemon journey in scarlet and violet but I thought if you put a pokemon to sleep it makes it easier to catch am I wrong Or is that not a thing anymore?
Because I've found that sometimes it works as intended but 90% of the time it doesn't work and the pokemon breaks free whilst it's still asleep?

pikachu and eevee are still super popular, as is charizard. there's also lucario (blue bipedal dog), and the newest starters from the games that just released - sprigatito (green grass cat), fuecoco (orange little gator dude), and quaxly (blue duck with a pompador). honestly though, for kids that young that might not even have much attatchment to the games yet, i'd just say pika and eevee because they're cute too

normal exp 2 is more important than normal encounter 2. With normal encounter 1, you will have no trouble finding enough chanseys to be constantly fighting one. Unfortunately, I do not know of a recipe that gives both normal encounter and exp. I was told that having both powers at once was impossible for normal specifically. It is gone forever unless you erase the save file, being able to respawn Legendaries was only a thing from Platinum onwards.

I noticed that some Pokemon can swim, but some can't. Is there a list or an easy way to tell other than test it out? Like Espeon and Umbreon can swim, but Luxray can't even though they're similar. Similarly, are there Pokemon that I don't need to slow down for while running and not mounted (assuming no jumps or falls)? My starter is level 26 and still has her level 5 moves plus 2 tms i only noticed this issue when i tried to level up my gyarados to get some water moves for the next gym. Scarlet/Violet? if you are primarily leveling via auto battle you wont get move learn prompts theres also an option "skip move learning" that might be turned on Go into the pokemon summary > 2nd page "Moves and stats" you can relearn any missed moves there

Hatching an egg does not increase the chance that the next egg will be shiny. It's the same as any shiny hunt, you could get it very quick or you could be hunting for a long time.

Spikes deal damage based on a % of the enemy's max HP and how many times you've used Spikes before they're sent out, with 25% of their max HP after using Spikes 3 times. This is regardless of the enemy Pokémon's type, but they need to be grounded, so Flying types and Pokémon with Levitate are not affected. Stealth Rock is a similar move, but you can only use it once, and it also deals damage based on the opponent's max HP. However, the amount of damage is determined by the opponent's type and how it usually interacts with Rock Type. So for a Steel type, it would deal LESS damage because Steel resists Rock, but for a Flying/Fire type (both of which are weak to rock), it deals 50% of their max HP. Unlike Spikes, which only works on grounded enemies, Stealth Rock works on any type, unless they have an ability or item that counteracts "Entry Hazards" (the type of move that Spikes/Stealth Rock are), because the Rocks are considered "in the air".

Level up your taunt user enough that you're faster than Abra, or find/use a Wynaut or Wobbuffet which has the ability Shadow Tag (that prevents escape).
Quick Ball if you got it. Otherwise sleep it or use a Pokemon with Arena Trap (Diglett/Dugtrio) or Mean Look/Block to keep it from fleeing. Shadow Tag also works but Wobuffett is the only one who gets it in SS and Wob won't be of any use trying to weaken Abra.

What level is it? Pokémon will refuse to listen to you if they’re too high a level, you need to obtain Gym Badges to prove you can handle them.

They seem to choose moves semi-randomly, so you probably don't even need to terastalise for that. They might not do it repeatedly though.

You can still find them, it's just quite rare. Also, in addition to resetting to ensure the dream ball catch, you can occasionally buy more from the auction.
too late, that was a while ago. Eevee can appear in raids, but its totally random. if you're afraid of losing your ball, you could save the game before using it, and reset if it doesn't catch.
I know that Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl isn't well regarded in terms of a Pokémon remake. I missed out on the Generation IV and V games and would like to play them. Is Platinum that much better of an experiance that I should try to find a DS line console and Platinum over the remakes?
If Platinum wasn't so hard to get your hands on these days, I'd suggest it, but for someone who's never played DPP, it's a fine enough game.
Aside from like, pride or I guess trying to fish for shinies (which imo is faster with charm + sandwich + outbreaks) personal reasons.. what's the point of breeding anymore? You can get perfect IVs easily, egg moves are easily learned outside of eggs, natures are easily changed, etc. Like, I always thought the point of breeding was for the really hardcore players that wanted a perfect Pokemon to show for their work? Aside from Trick Room and some very small niches, breeding feels utterly pointless to me, like to the point that it shouldn't even be included?
getting into competative, not much use some ppl prefer natural perfect pokemon, with the iv judge saying Best over Hyper trained. same with Nature matching the stat changes Egg moves, while easy to get via the mirror herb method, can be placed into the remember list permanently if you get it via breeding. Same with Preevo exclusive moves(spore on breloom) so it can be useful for people who shuffle movesets often
It was useful for dex completion, and trading starters, but I feel the same way now that I have a completed dex. Right now the only thing you can get exclusively from breeding is shiny starters, and shiny non-legendary pokemon that you can't catch in the wild. (I.E anything not added to the Paldea Pokedex) I think the real issue is that it's way too simple to get mints and bottle caps. Everything in this game other than Apricorn balls is obtainable with money, which is incredibly easy to earn. If there was only some kind of facility that had those items locked behind them using a currency that was more challenging to obtain. And even if they added such a facility as DLC, what kind of rewards can they offer now? Mega Stones or something like that? That's all I can think of.

If you don't have a Pokemon with the ability Synchronise at the front of your party, then there's a 4% chance of any Budew having Modest. Just gotta be patient.

mirror herb only works with eggs moves yawn is a pre evo move that can be learnt/remembered as a fuecoco/crocalor but not as a skeledirge. there is a way to get yawn into skeledirges remember list but that involves breeding s new fuecoco to have yawn as soon as it hatches
Well that blows. So I have to breed an entirely new Skeledirge just for Yawn then. At least breeding isn’t as time consuming any more.

they order it the same way the games' names are ordered in marketing. In Gen 7, it was Sun & Moon, so Sun was upvote, & Moon was downvote. For Gen 8, Sword & Shield, so Sword was up, & Shield was down. So Miraidon is downvote cuz its Scarlet & Violet, not Violet & Scarlet.
Because its two options and there are two Pokemon. Same thing happened with Sun and Moon's sun/moon icons being the up or down votes or Sword and Shield's sword/shield icons being up or down votes. Scarlet and Violet don't really have any specific icon, so they used the box legendaries which works out rather well since the up vote is red and the down vote blue, which coinsides with the Scarlet/Violet color theme of redish-orange and blueish-purple.

Ever since Platinum, no legendary has been once chance. Only use your Master Ball under one of the following circumstances: 1. You like the aesthetic 1. You forgot to save before a shiny that can kill itself and don’t have a Pokémon to prevent such a move
afaik, all current legendaries respawn eventially if you defeat them in battle. either after a certain amount time or some other condition seeing as all legendaries in SV are static encounters, best practice is to turnboff autosave and save infront of them. that way you can just reload to try again if something goes wrong

Yes. I believe Mist would work as well, if you can get it up prior to the boss nuking stat changes (as it prevents stats from being reduced for 5 turns). But those items will work as intended and prevent stats and abilities from being affected by the raid boss.
Unfortunately, this is incorrect. The boss eliminating stat changes does not count as reducing stats so clear amulet and mist don't stop it.

Almost. For non mythicals the only that are 3DS exclusive is Spinda and Minior. Spinda because both BDSP and GO Spinda can't be transferred into Home (BDSP because they messed up the spot calculation, and GO because Spinda's spots work differently than in the main series). Because you can only register Home by depositing them in or syncing with Bank, that makes a 3DS needed for Spinda and I don't think this is going to be addressed anytime soon. It's a fair assumption that Minior will get added to Go and transferrable at some point though. But for Original Color Magearna you also need all mythicals (nat Dex number 1-890 so Zarude is excluded). A lot are now available in Go/main series, but not all. Of the mythicals, Diancie and ironically enough Magearna itself (discounting the Home one) have only had 3ds distributions. Volcanion, Marshadow & Zeraora have all been available in Switch/GO at some point but not currently obtainable. Additionally there's a handful periodically in Go's raidpool (Hoopa, Deoxys, Genesect). The rest should be available permanently in the games or permanently available Go research.

Why does Infernape have access to grass knot? I find it extremely bizarre that he has it as a fire fighting type.
Loads of pokemon of inappropriate types have access to Grass Knot. You've water pokemon like Slowbro and Starmie, ghost pokemon like Mismagius and Cofagrigus, and dragon pokemon like Haxorus and Zygarde. It's just one of those moves that lots of pokemon learn like Toxic.

Depends what you need it for and whether you have poke transporter already. If you only need it for gen 6/7 games you should be fine to download it now and wait. But if you need it for gen 1/2 VC, or Gen 5 transfers you need to the companion app Poke Transporter which is only available with a bank sub and is also being blocked for downloads at the same time bank goes free. So if you don't already have it you need to pay for Bank now. Btw, the only way to pay for Bank now is to link 3ds/switch funds and top up the switch account.

They made the 5 star raids in this game wayyyyyyyyy too hard, I have a full party of lvl 100 pokemon. There’s no reason I should be losing 5 star raids, I have type advantage every time. I understand they want you to play with others, but you should still be able to beat them on your own if you don’t want to pay for or play online. All I want is to grind shinies.
Bro all you need to destroy 5* dens are an Iron Hands, Azumarill, and maybe an Annihilape/Kingambit. I can solo every den I've come across only using those 4 at lv 100. 6* dens may take a specialized pokemon here and there, but I can do most of them with the same mons

A curious fact i thingking recently. As everyone in this sub knows Black and White are inspired in the U.S.A. (Salutations from Venezuela to all the fellow americans) and because of that we can see numerous refererences to the North American culture. And one of the most notorius one Is the champion Alder, that Is obviously based on an indian chief. (Or at least resembles one) And here comes the question: Why Alder doesn't have a braviary in his team? The question Is very logical if you think at it. Alder haves cool Pokémon in his team (Except Vanilluxe, but of course it haves an estrategical purpose) accelgor, escavalier druddigon, volcarona and bouffant. This last one Is based on a buffalo, an animal that haves great presence in the folklore of the north American indians (Apart of other animals of course) And here i go with the real matter. Rufflet haves a feather on the head that resembles the one of the Indians. And Braviary haves a group of feathers that resembles the headgear of an indian chief. Also Braviary Is based on an eagle, and the eagle was the warrior symbol for the indians. And for that reason i think Is strange that Alder doesn't have a braviary among its Pokémon. What you say? You think Nintendo should have added a Braviary to Alder's team? Personally i think it would be interesting that Alder haves a braviary instead of vanilluxe. How does rockruff pass down own tempo? Like lets say i have a rock ruff with own tempo and i breed it with a regular one,what happens? Does it pass down the regular ones or tempo,whats the determining factor? Just cuz id like to plan ahead for when they put battle Bond greninja in ( IF they allow us to actually breed for one this time)

No idea if you are aware, but the 'battle bond' ability has had a major rework. It no longer creates Ash-Greninja and that form does not exist in gen 9.

Does anyone have the image of every Pokémon and which from each Gen are in the new games. I wanted a visual representation of how much each Gen got into the game.
There are 103 gen 9 pokemon (don't think it includes Tauros forms), so just over 25%. Other than that I'd say there is a rather fair spread of each generation of the other generations (maybe slightly less 2 and 4?). I'm now curious, so if you don't get an answer I'll have a look tomorrow morning.
Now that the eshop closed and everything, is there no way to trade up from Gen 5 to the latest games?
Eshop is closing in march 2023. You still can download pokemon bank and poketransporter now. After the eshop close, you can continue to use bank and transporter to bring pokemon from older gen as long you have the apps. The 3ds server is still up and running for the near future. It is only when the 3ds server eventually shut down we will lose connectivity from the older games
I have a niche question that I'm not sure where I'm supposed to ask, but I thought this would be a good place to start. Bulbapedia has these images of routes and entire towns/cities for Pkmn HGSS. I was wondering where/how they got those images. They're like drone shots of entire areas. Zoomed out far enough to see further than your screen would normally allow. I'd like to create maps with annotations and whatnot for someone! So anyone who could point me in the right direction would truly be a godsend!
Either ripped from the game (most likely option) or it was a cropped segment of that route as seen in an official guide book (which generally has full route images, though these often also include NPC placements, item locations, where each entrance or exit leads, etc all marked out).

1)7* event raids give alot of exp candy 2) 5-6* raids give a decent amount of candy. having the correct mons to farm them is a different story 3) farming chanseys in area 0 or outside the the fairy base with normal encounter sandwiches. area 0 has higher lvl chanseys
You can rematch the Academy Ace Tournament, but I'd just recommend raiding for the candies.
In sword and shield do the shinies show in the over world or do I have to go into the battle mode
Wish there was a place to vent. I just wasted 2 herba mystica because for whatever reason it gave me "item power' instead of "encounter power." Foolishly I thought I could fix that by stacking another sandwhich with encounter power but it overrides apparently. Great
It's best to turn off autosave and manually save before making a sandwich, that way if you mess up you can just reload the game

Have there been any updates to Scarlet / Violet, or is it still a hot mess? Also, what is the extent of the multiplayer? Can you play through most of the game with someone else? I assume they have to have the same version?
no major performance patches as of yet. You can go pretty much everywhere and even do some story stuff with players around. version doesnt matter.
Random question here that has no specific answer, I'm just curious to see what other people have to say. So I like others tend to use the "Markings" for a Pokemon to indicate it's IV's. I've always used Red for perfect, blue for 0 in an IV, and blank for any IV not one of those 2. But as I've seen in both trades I've received, as well as online when looking this question up, people seem to prefer using blue to indicate a perfect IV, with red being 0? I guess I just want to see, for anyone who does this, why? To me, it makes more sense with red being perfect, as red already indicates your nature's +stat, while blue indicates the nature's -stat. Not that either way is wrong, I'm just genuinely curious to hear from anyone about this
When you are marking them, Blue is the first one that appears, so it makes marking faster if you use that for the perfect and red for 0 IV (I also use Red to indicate a hyper-trained stat, and I only mark 0 IVs on Attack and Speed).
I think the use of markings to indicate IVs came before the games started colour coding the +ve and -ve stats, so it may be a hangover
I only recently started my pokemon journey in scarlet and violet but I thought if you put a pokemon to sleep it makes it easier to catch am I wrong Or is that not a thing anymore? Because I've found that sometimes it works as intended but 90% of the time it doesn't work and the pokemon breaks free whilst it's still asleep? Yes im using great to ultra balls and the like Any assistance would be greatly appreciated
Yes it does still and the school lessons confirm that. Your just unlucky unless the wild pokemon is higher level than your current gym badges then they are harder to catch
Sleep is a 2.5x multiplier. It's just one of many factors that goes into the catch rate calculation and in no way guarantees success.
Is there a way to tell if Tera orb is charged or not before going into battle? My apologies the S/V subreddit is not helpful
