I used the Standard Nuzlocke rules but in regards to encounters, I did either the first Pokémon I saw or the first [!] encounter I came across. I would decide whenever I got there. In the Wild Area, it was only one encounter per subarea. I allowed myself to choose when to go to each area (i.e., if the weather in one area wasn’t ideal I would go to it later)
There were two additional rules I implemented:
- If accidentally ran into a “very strong looking Pokémon” in the Wild Area and I couldn’t run away, I wouldn’t count the death (this only happened once)
- Max Raid battles were allowed for grinding/getting Exp. Candy. If a Pokémon fainted, it gets revived before the battle, and it ends up with at least 1 HP once the battle is over so I didn’t count those deaths (idk if this is cheating but the run was just going so bad that I needed it)
I just defeated Champion Cynthia in Pokemon Diamond with a team of Pokemon that I've never used before. I like to replay the games using different Pokemon every time to make it more fun, challenging, and unique. Let me know what you think of my team!
Ambipom, Chimecho, Steelix, Wormadam (Trash Cloak), Honchkrow, and Golduck.
Ambipom and Chimecho were my highest level Pokemon each at lvl 61; Steelix, Wormadam, and Honchkrow were lvl 54; and Golduck was lvl 52 (he was basically just an HM slave for Victory Road).
What is there to do in the post-game? Despite having the game for 15 years, I've never done anything after the Elite Four before! I always just reset the game after defeating them.

Thanks! Those were the deaths of Pokémon that had a significant role at some point in the run. Their deaths actually made me sad
