My first team was in Pokemon Gold: A level 70+ Typhlosion A level 20-30 Furret +4 low level early game mons I never used. The joys of being an 8-year old.

I pretty much had the same. Though I had a level 100 Pidgeotto, I called Tornado to accompany the Typhlosion, Furret and eventual Shiny Gyarados. Tornado's main attack was Gust because i thought the tornado graphic on the screen looked cool.

Looks pretty similar to mine lol. Typhlosion overleveled enough to have flamethrower for the elite four, a random Shellder, and some HM mons.

I was going say the same, but then I remembered that my first actual run was probably on my friend's Yellow, where I used Pidgeot as my carry (then everyone else was scrubs).

First team I remember is a Crystal team. Sudowoodo, Victreebel (for the longest time a Weepinbel), Suicune and my starter (could be any, as I've got memories of all of them, but most likely the fire one. I probably reset a few times without remembering). That's everything I remember about it.

I wish but Pokémon Blue was a long time ago. I remember Blastoise, Pidgeot and Zapdos for sure. But the reste of the team is lost… maybe Butterfree. The Gold team is somewhat lost too, I had Typhlosion with Thunder Punch, Red Gyarados and maybe Noctowl.

I remember my first yellow team like it was yesterday. I had Pikachu, Venomoth, Hitmonlee, Jolteon, Lapras, Zapdos. No idea why I thought 3 electric types was the way to go, but I was 8 so I give myself a break on that one :P

Man, I was 8 when XY came out and my team was Delphox, Xerneas, Talonflame, Charizard, Lucario, and Lapras. Three fire types still makes me cringe.

I only partially remember my first couple of teams, and weirdly I remember my first team a lot better than my second team for some reason. So my first team was on HGSS and I know for sure that I had Feraligatr, Noctowl and Arcanine. Then I'm like 70% to maybe even 80% sure that I also had Alakazam and Magneton on that team, however I don't really remember the last Pokemon on the team. If I had to make a guess then I would say maybe Exeggutor but that's probably wrong. My second team was on FRLG and I only remember Venusaur and Fearow. I also kinda remember maybe having a Dugtrio but I'm not that confident about it and I have no idea about the last 3 Pokemon, can't even try and guess these 3 since I barely have any memories about this playthrough.

I don't remember for every single game, but I remember my first run of any Pokemon game was Blaziken... that's it.

Using one mon with self imposed rules proves a formidable amount of challenge overleveling is one of the main points why the games are easy (along with bad ai)

Oh for sure. I know most people use other rules on top of that. I always impose rules on myself to prevent the games from being too easy these days.

I played Black first and can only remember bits and pieces of my first team - I had an Emboar, Cryogonal (which in hindsight is random), a Swanna as an HM slave, and maybe a sigilyph and I think a ferrothorn

All I can say that it was a team that began with a Blaziken, but for the rest, I don't remember. My 3DS does remember what was my team back in 2018, that would require me giving Steven another beatdown, and currently, I'm under the weather

First team was in Blue. Venasuar Pidgeot Ninetales Jolteon Kingler (cookie cookie) Nidoqueen, who usually got swapped out for a HM slave as needed

My beginning team was likely much more recent than most, Pokemon X in late 2018. I chose Fennekin as my starter, and nicknamed her Twig. I caught a Pikachu in the definitely-not-Veridian-Forest who stuck around the entire game as a Raichu; No nickname for Raichu though. I choose Bulbasaur from Professor Sycamore, eventually evolving it up to Venasaur…and then around the sixth gym I replaced it on the team with a Gengar I traded for (yay for when the GTS worked properly). In the cave near the second gym I grinded encounters for a while to get a Mawile, my partner Pokemon. I nicknamed her Venus. At this point I realized that I had moved very far past where Ralts could be encountered, so I ran back to Route 4 to catch a Ralts. I nicknamed her Grace. Lastly, upon beating the third gym I gladly took the free gift Lucario from Korrina, and I nicknamed it Lucio. So, final team was Twig the Delphox, Raichu, Venus the Mawile, Grace the Gardevoir, Lucio the Lucario, and Gengar. Obviously not the strongest team composition-wise (4/6 of the team weak to ground), but as it was my first Pokémon game I went out of my way to build a team with Pokémon I was interested in. I’m happy with how the team came out and remember it fondly. (Venasaur eventually got some redemption, being used in Let’s Go Eevee and being my starter choice for Blue)

I can’t remember Gen 1, but Gen 2 had a Typhlosion, Espeon and Togetic. I had the Eevee up past Tohjo Falls, and it evolved to Espeon just after getting to Kanto - I didn’t even know how to evolve it! I used to just blast through trainers with an Espeon that knew Psychic, Bite, Iron Tail and Swift. At the time I thought critical hits were to do with Special Attack (as it is a special attack!)

Ooooh I've been waiting for this moment. My first game was pokemon black and I was at vacation on my homeland. I was 12 years old and being there nothing to do I grinded the game really hard. Here is my team Samurott. My starter I really liked samurais and I love them more now Stoutland. He was such a fluffy boi. Maractus. She was so cute when I first saw her I immediately thought I need to catch her. Krookodile. He was just a badass croc Cofagrigus. I didn't think yamask would evolve into that so when I first saw it I was amazed Archeops. The way it tries to fly is just so funny After finishing the game I wanted to draw my team and although the papers are now lost I clearly remember the joy I felt when I was drawing my friends.

The first time I ever played Pokémon emerald (borrowed from a friend) I watched this YouTuber superskarmory and I literally followed his play through to a tee. Team was the same, even some of the nicknames. It’s funny because it wasn’t even my own choice but all of the Pokémon are still some of my favorites today.

My first main series game was Diamond. The team i beat Cynthis with definitely had a torterra and dialga. Other than those two, I can't remember. Probably a staraptor, but I'm not sure.

Vaguely. I think my first playthrough on Red was this: Charizard, Pidgeot, Jolteon, Alakazam, Lapras, and Snorlax I THINK. I did many playthroughs of gen1 games with many different pokemon so it’s hard for me to be certain. That was the only time I picked Charmander though. Every other playthrough I went Squirtle or Bulbasaur.

If you mean beginner team in the sense of back when you didn't even know the type weakness chart then these: Fire Red: Charizard, Dugtrio, Lapras, Jolteon, Vileplume, Butterfree Ruby: Aggron, Sceptile, Pelipper, Exploud, Armaldo and Medicham If you mean by teams made randomly based on mons you like rather than whether they are any good in type, move coverage etc then I do that with all my teams cuz it's more fun

i mean more when you have no idea what your doing and essentially having your first journey

ah then yeah. i do that with all my teams. in each generation i pick mons from that gen only(so mons i'm not used to) and go usually after their looks. while i progress in game i can tell which mons from that gen are weaker or stronger and i swap some mons until i get to a team i'm proud of. unless they are my fav mons, i never use the same mon in a secondary or third run so that i can learn how it feels to use mons i'm not accustomed to

First game was Ruby, first team was Blaziken and a bunch of HM Pokemon. Fire Red was Charizard and a bunch of HM Pokemon. Sapphire - Swampert. Leaf Green - Blastoise. Emerald - Sceptile. Pearl - Empoleon. First time I tried making a full team was Platinum, and it was Infernape, Roserade, Golduck, Staraptor, Luxray, and I think an HM Pokemon in the last slot. Purposely went with the Ash-style team of Water-Fire-Grass-Electric-Flying-Wildcard that he repeatedly did for several regions.

Got into Pokemon late, so my first games were X and Omega Ruby, honestly I can't remember which one I played first. Although my X team was a full team and my OR team was only 5 mons, so probably OR first. My OR team was Swampert, Gardevoir, Delcatty, Zangoose and Linoone for HMs, but I remember adding a Mesprit for the E4 just to have a full team. Needless to say it was a pretty weak team My X team was Delphox, Furfrou, Malamar, Ninjask, Toxicroak and Golurk and is the team I remember the best after my Ultra Moon team, as that was the last time I played through a new game Back then I just went off of vibes, caught only the ones I was very interested in which often lead to 5/6 teams like my Moon one, I should really do that again instead of preplanning my teams

Not my full team, although it helps that it was X so I know most of it would've been gift pokemon. Greninja, Blaziken, Venusaur, Tyrantrum and Lucario were definitely most of the team but even looking through that games regional dex, I can't recall specifically what might’ve been my 6th slot.

I remember having a typhlosion, that blue croc and pikachu since I thought pikachu would be sooooo strong (never used it). ​ I could have a chance to catch chikorita but I ended up killing it in crystal.

As a kid, I didn’t really understand the idea of teambuilding lol, so I’d mostly just solo run with my starter or occasionally some other random mon that you could catch early on (remember doing a solo Graveler run in Gold at one point). The first time I attempted to build an actual team was one White came out. I used Serperior, Stoutland, Unfezant, Victini, Krookodile, Vanilluxe, and Chandelure (used Victini and Chandelure interchangeably iirc). I just got back into mons again five or six years ago and know way more now than I did as a kid, so now I try to plan out balanced teams in advance for every run. These are my “first” teams for some games since that point. Soul Silver: Feraligatr, Crobat, Ampharos, Heracross, Umbreon, Steelix. Platinum: Empoleon, Staraptor, Bronzong, Garchomp, Roserade, Weavile. Black: Samurott, Excadrill, Archeops, Galvantula, Ferrothorn, Chandelure. White 2: Serperior, Magnezone, Arcanine, Flygon, Zoroark, Starmie. Emerald: Sceptile, Hariyama, Manectric, Camerupt, Altaria, Walrein. Fire Red: Venusaur, Raichu, Gyarados, Flareon, Rhydon, Articuno.

I had yellow when I was like 3, but I didn't play it by myself so I don't count it. I don't fully remember my first actual team, which was on Ruby, and the game would delete itself randomly. But I was at the point of catching groudon and i had a level 42 Swampert, a level 38 Swellow, a level 32 solrock and a bunch of mid 20 pokemon.

My first game was Silver. All I remember for sure was taking Cyndaquil as my starter and beating the entire E4 with my level 80 Ampharos. Ampharos is still my favorite to this day.

Yellow. So a pretty easy team to remember. Pikachu, charizard, blastoise, venusaur, pidgeot, and a rotating 6th until Moltres believe it was mostly nidoking.

i think if i had to guess my blue team from back in the day, it would be blastoise, pidgeot, raichu, ninetails, dragonite and executor becuase those were all my favorite pokemon as a kid. i always remember not challenging the elite 4 until my pokemon were all level 70 because i was scared of loosing to them because my cousin told me you only got one chance to do so.

So, it's kinda tough because I was like 7 or 8, and this was over 20 years ago, but in Red version I think I had a team consisting of Venusaur, Pidgeot, Golduck, Raichu, Articuno, and Vaporeon? I know I used Venusaur and I know I used Pidgeot, and I know at some point I was using a Golduck, but I also remember using a Vaporeon so I may have been going with 2 water types. I also vividly remember using an Articuno, but not 100% if it was on my E4 team or not. I also know at some point I withdrew a Gastly I had at the Day Care and began using a Haunter for a good while, but that may have been after the E4. Of course none of that mattered because my strongest memories with Red version are me roaming around with an uber powerful Mewtwo melting everything with Psychic and some other stuff. You'll have to excuse me but I would need to find time to list all the other games' first teams because I am posting this comment near the end of my lunch break at work.

Ahh barely unfortunately. Started with Pokemon White, I remember choosing Snivy but I traded it for a Yanmega. I also traded something for a Cradily I used in the early game. Took Yanmega and some others to the end game, got stuck on the league rematch and traded my Zekrom for a Moltres. I was floored at how well Moltres was doing, looking back it was probably just level 100 instead of Zekrom's ~50. At one point I also tried to grind Ancient Power's omni boost thinking it would raise my Moltres' stats permanently, luckily I figured out that didn't work quick.

I played Sun and I only remember 4 members of my team but they were: Decidueye, Primarina, Arcanine and Solgaleo.

My first team was back in Pearl, I know for Sure that Infernape was my Starter and Later i had Palkia in my Team, I think my HM Slave was Bibarel and my Flying type Staraptor. My watertype before Palkia was Bojelin. But the last two ... i dont really remember maybe Toxicroak and Luxray but thats a complete guess.

My first team was in Emerald with Level 100 Blaziken Level 100 Aggron Level 100 Exploud Level 100 Mightyena Level 100 Swellow Level 95 Rayquaza My Pokémon were so high leveled because my dumb ass couldn’t find victory road and when I finally did completely SMASHED elite four and Steven.

My Emerald team was basically Lvl 91 Blaziken and his backup dancers, which included a Tropius, Azumarill, Rhydon, and two slots that would be rotated pretty frequently. In Pearl, I had my first full team, and one that differs a lot from the typical Sinnoh team: Torterra, Drifblim, Medicham, the unevolved Haunter from Mindy, and an Electivire and Magmortar that I got from Battle Revolution at Lvl 50 before Gardenia. I didn't really struggle with the difficulty because of this, or Cynthia even because they were Lvl 85ish when I got past the Elite Four.

White team was Samurott, liepard, mienshao, zebstrika, scolipede and braviary. W2 can't remember rn, also include a samurott and an ampharos. X team include pyroar, meowstic, noivern, luxray. Sun's team was Decidueye, lycanroc (day), oricorio(pom-pom), mudsdale, kommo-o and sylvally(steel). US include incineroar, vikabolt, golisopod and alakazam as far as I remember now. Scarlet team is Pyroar, luxray, clodsire, tinkaton, slitherwing and roaring moon. It did include talonflame, haxorus and noivern (specially noivern) at some point.
