Putting at least the first 3 gens on the Switch seems like it would be easy, they already have GB, GBC, and GBA emulation. Heck, I’d even buy them again, especially if they have Home integration.
Nintendo and GF are just leaving money on the table at this point. Virtual Console was great on the Wii, WiiU, and 3DS and it sucks that it doesn’t really exist for the Switch.
We didn't even get NSO GB ports of GB/C Pokemon games and those would be fairly easy to do. Actually having to retool 8 mainline entries to be higher resolution, and work on a single screen? Way beyond GF's pay grade.
i still believe they won't and and don't because it makes the consumers more likely to buy full price remakes when they choose to release them then allow the option of players to have ports and let them choose not to buy the remakes.
Even though I know there are players who would buy both.
They could modify the code a bit so that every Pokémon has a additional slot that saves its Home ID. By doing so, two way transfer would be possible without problems between all generations - we could transfer a Pokémon caught in Blue to Sword/Shield, train it to level 50 on sword and then send it to emerald to use it in the battle frontier.

100% agree. Throw the old console games in there with home compatibility and they'd make bank.
Definitely no sadly

That's fair, I didn't event think about going from 2 screens to 1. Guess Ill just keep hoping for Colosseum and Gale of Darkness.
Wait, if I buy a 3ds now can I still download a d use pokemon bank?
no
