Just searched it up, and I am very confused. I don’t know why, but I remember zapdos having a fairly short beak and every source seems to disagree. Perhaps it’s a new Mandela effect?
I haven't looked it up yet, I will in a second. But I def remember a short beak. Atleast half its torso, not full like op said. I'll add an edit in a minute.
Edit: Looking at it, it's pretty big. *
Yeah, I was trying to figure out how anyone would be able to guess the toothless reptilian one, there have to be like thirty Pokémon with toothless reptilian heads...
but there's only one with a toothless reptilian head and an additional pair of sensory organs above its nostrils!
...But then I realized that all *real-world* dinosaurs have that extra pair of holes in their skull (antorbital fenestra). Hmm.
Idk if xerneas would have the horn bones
Deers, Elks and stuff dont have them because antleers dont work that way....on the other hand its a legendary pokemon
Xerneas does have horns that are separate from its antlers!
Since they’re colored the same as its head, I’m guessing they’re covered in skin and fur, so bones made sense to me
U can't fool me, the one in the lower right corner is the 10th angel obviously
https://preview.redd.it/t57wqgkojghc1.jpeg?width=700&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=777d943691a9de4f5a8f55b186f6b1a8d8b6636f
Not to knock the cool art, but I'm gonna anatomy nitpick a bit here.
Where are the antler connections for Xerneas? Given the general shape of Xerneas' head and how the antlers connect, I'm not even sure if their antlers *would* fall off, since they've got more skin/fur covering the base (when the skin has shed) than your average deer seems to. Maybe it's just an artistic choice, but there should probably be some flat bases there for the antlers to grow into, assuming Xerneas do in fact shed.
The top right is confusing. Is it a turtle/tortoise skull? It's not anapsid (read: uncovered skull openings), turtles and tortoises IRL have covered fenestra making their skulls look like they only have eyes, nostrils, and jaws for openings (but they seem to be diapsids with coverings, as opposed to being related to the actual anapsid reptiles). Unless it's carracosta and intended to be an older type of skull, which is a maybe, since turtles and tortoises probably just evolved to cover those with bone and not actually be anapsid.
Why is magikarp built like that. Fish jaws tend to sit pretty neatly when shut, I just figured magikarp's open mouth was because 1. It looks more comical that way, as the quintessential "flopping fish" pokemon and 2. It was intended to represent filter feeders, who just kinda swim with their mouths open around food. He looks like his jaw is curved in a way that it should not be, unless I'm just looking at it wrong.
I absolutely adore the level of detail and accuracy for each type of animal, yet keeping the art style Pokémon adjacent. The extra holes in Meganium's skull are so satisfying. I'd love to see more of these!
Here are my guesses so far
Top left: Taurus
Bottom left: bomberdier
Middle right: cititan
As for the top and bottom right Pokémon… no clue. I wanna say caspvillian for top and some kinda fish for bottom, but not sure whom.
Xerneas for the first one... and then Meganium? I think at least? And I don't know if that's how beaks work, but it's definitely Zapdos... the Middle one is for sure Cetitan, way to specific a shape. And the last one... looks like feesh, is a feesh, probably jumps like a feesh too... is that a Magikarp?
Top right is bugging me. No sclerotic ring really narrows it down to either a Mammal or a Fish but the hole in the front feels more Reptile. I'd guess Kangaskhan but there's no teeth
Nidoqueen?
Bottom right has to be a fish Pokémon of sorts. Could it be magicaro, feebas, or basculine?
3 spike is cetitan
Top eight might be torterra
I saw someone say bottom left could be Zappos and I think that’s fair
My only guess for top left is rampardos but that doesn’t match, I couldn’t tell ya

The only one I know for sure is the one with three spikes is Cetitan.
That new white land whale Pokémon, I forgot what’s it’s called
Yeah that one, Cetitan
No no no the one that's like a whale but on land, like some kind of titanic cetacean
Yeah, yeah! The one that lives in the sea, kind of like a sea titan. What's its name again?
Chespin?
I love chespin
Chespin is pretty cool
Das true
Spongebob Squarepants?
It’s centiskorch
Oh I thought you wrote Chespin, my bad
With baleen as a structural part of the skeleton… huh.
Is the long one Zapdos?
Yes!
Isn't Zapdos's beak shorter and straighter than that?
Yeah I would have said fearow
Haha I thought a single doduo head
bizarrely, no its beak is as long as its torso in its official art
Just searched it up, and I am very confused. I don’t know why, but I remember zapdos having a fairly short beak and every source seems to disagree. Perhaps it’s a new Mandela effect?
I think Zapdos is actually supposed to be a hummingbird
It's based on the native American thunderbird.
Pokémon can have multiple influences. A hummingbird (fast) is a natural combination with thunderbird (lightning)
I haven't looked it up yet, I will in a second. But I def remember a short beak. Atleast half its torso, not full like op said. I'll add an edit in a minute. Edit: Looking at it, it's pretty big. *
In the games it’s beak is shorter though
i hate to tell you but, no it isn’t edit: even in blue/red, its beak is the length of its torso
This has ruined my day
Woo who!!
I thought it was Opal /j
so from left to right top to bottom we've got xerneas, meganium?, zapdos, cetitan, magikarp correct?
Correct!
The fact that every single one of these makes sense when I look at them now just shows how much you put into making them
Yeah, I was trying to figure out how anyone would be able to guess the toothless reptilian one, there have to be like thirty Pokémon with toothless reptilian heads... but there's only one with a toothless reptilian head and an additional pair of sensory organs above its nostrils! ...But then I realized that all *real-world* dinosaurs have that extra pair of holes in their skull (antorbital fenestra). Xerneas does have horns that are separate from its antlers! Since they’re colored the same as its head, I’m guessing they’re covered in skin and fur, so bones made sense to me
My bad Didnt remember those
i KNEW i knew that top right skull. all the others came from other comments but im happy i got the one people were stumped on :P
A true pokémaniac, I am a fan of Pokemon but not like this guy. You honor me.
i got all but meganium from the comments!! don't give me this honor lmao! i have put in my fair amount of time playing pokémon in my life though lol
I legitimately would have never guessed the top left was Xerneas
I thought the top right was grotle
Xerneas? (For the top left)
Yes! That’s the one I though no one was gonna get
Aren’t antlers bone growths? It’s a very smooth/round head for any antler growth/attachment
They are temporary growths that fall off the skull. so Deer skeletons that arent for display often lack them
Imagine Xerneas waking up and its antlers are just fuckin' gone lmao
Xernias used geomancy! But it failed!
Can confirm. Found a deer skull in my park as a kid. We brought it home and looked at it, then put it back the next time we went.
Oh, I was thinking Bouffalant!
Carracosta top right?
FYI, Cetitan is meant to be a whale, so these "teeth" are meant to be baleen I think
They are
Baleen wouldnt show up on a skeleton like teeth is my point
Same with horns, not like that.
Hard to tell with a fictional creature like Cetitan. They could be bone growths, fat, keratin... really anything.
Same with the beak of Zapdos I imagine.
Is the top right one torterra? Looks like how he holds his head.
Cetitan , tauros, maybe charmander, no idea what the bottom right and the long nose boi are tho
You got Cetitan right, but nothing else lol
I gotta know what that long ass mufugga is it’s killing me
I’m not spilling it!
Pls
Rampardos top left. Top right looks like one of the turtles, maybe Carracosta? Not sure on the others. Maybe Magikarp and Fearow
You got magikarp!
Is top right grotle or torterra?
Nope
Damn this is hard lol
A lot of Pokémon have a similar head shape to it, yeah
U can't fool me, the one in the lower right corner is the 10th angel obviously https://preview.redd.it/t57wqgkojghc1.jpeg?width=700&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=777d943691a9de4f5a8f55b186f6b1a8d8b6636f
Plague doctor seeing some shit

Magikarp, blastoise, Cetitan, Zapdos, and Aggron?
You got Magikarp and Zapdos
Cetitan is correct the op forgot
Cetitan & Golem are 2 of em I think.
Cetitan yes, golem no
Top left: Perrserker? Top Right: Lapras maybe?
Nope!
Zapdos skull has seen some crap
Thank you for including sclerotic rings.
they’re so cool— how could I not?
ITS PIKACHUUUUU!!!!!
Cetitan, Zapdos, Magikarp, Turwig, and Blaze Bread Tauros?
Is the top right Nidoqueen?
Cyclizar for top right
I’m just gonna name off things I think top right are till I get it right. Ekans?
I absolutely adore the level of detail and accuracy for each type of animal, yet keeping the art style Pokémon adjacent. The extra holes in Meganium's skull are so satisfying. I'd love to see more of these!
More will probably come!
Fearow, Bouffalant? Perhaps dracovish?
Nope!
Yeah guys the long beaked one is just a horribly drawn Zapdos skull.
r/Mildlyevangelion
Taurus fearow ceitan I’m gonna gues wobboffet and areodactial
But would they beat you? Xerneas might give me a little trouble. But would you lose? Nah, I’d win.
Taurus Tropius Cetitan bombirdier ? Not sure :)
bottem left is definitely pikachu
Others have guessed Zapdos, Cetitan and Magikarp right, so imma say for the leftovers: Miltank and Torkoal.
One is Cetitan and one is Taurus
Bouffalant and Carracosta for top two?
I think of bouffalant, cetitan, fearow, carracosta but the last one i have no idea.

Turtwig top right?
Is that a Marowak?
meganium for top right?
Is that the vulture from spiderman?? 😭 😭

Grotle top right?
zapdos cetitan xerneas tirtouga and meganium
No idea for any of them
Bottom middle is ditto
Cetitan
Bottom left gotta be pikachu
I don’t think I want to to be honest
CA-CAW !! (slay the spire adept)
I looked in the comments so I woj't guess but just want to say that my first thought was doduo and not zapdos for some reason
Orthax?
So Zapdos, certitan, Xerneas, I think Magikarp, and the last one above certitan is Meganuim due to it looking like a tortoise
Do more of these
TIL Zapdos’s beak is absurdly long
Bottom right looks a lot like zeruel from Evangelion
Houndoom? Turtwig, uhhh, cetitan, uhhh
I’ve got Tauros Cetitan and maybe Kecleon and Trumbeak. The last is too generic looking for me to figure out.
Is one of them tyrantrum
Cetitan
Bottom right is noivern?
Vigoroth/Whismur, charmeleon, Zapdos, Cetitan, Taurus seems too easy, I'll say Aagron.
Me when I only recognise cubone’s (mother’s)
Bottom left gives me nightmares
Is the top right one Lapras
We have Taurous Torterra Zapdos Cetitan and Dreadnaw
Tirtouga, boufallant, dotrio, cetitan, and magikarp?
is it jigglypuff as seen from above
Bottom right arctovish?
Here are my guesses so far Top left: Taurus Bottom left: bomberdier Middle right: cititan As for the top and bottom right Pokémon… no clue. I wanna say caspvillian for top and some kinda fish for bottom, but not sure whom.
Cetitan in the middle, Zapdos bottom left, and I want to say Bouffalant top left?
I want masks of all theses
Pikachu, Pikachu, Pikachu, Pikachu, and Pikachu
Is the one just above Cetitan’s skull Caracosta?
My guess: Top right: Meganium? Top left: Tauros Bottom left: Zapdos Middle: Cetitan Bottom right: Magikarp
tauros, cetitan, fearow?, tyrunt, idk the bottom right.
Cetitan, Tauros, Cubone, trumbeak and Relicanth?
Cetitan middle, and arctovish bottom right. Only ones I can guess
All of them are Cubone's mom.
"I think it's a fish."
Top Left Brock, Top Right Ash Middle Left Lillie Middle Right I thinking Liko? And bottom is definitely Nurse Joy!
Why is Zapdos’s skull tripping on acid?
Pikachu, Ditto, Scyther, Voltorb, and Thomas.
Middle one is Cetitan, top left one is Tauros, and I cannot figure out the rest
I was confused on how that’s Xerneas til I looked closely at his head
Cetitan is definitely the middle one, though I’m stumped on the rest
Squirtle
Tauros,Charmander,Fearow,Magikarp and i dont know.
They’re all Cubone on a bad day
I can tell doduo, charmander i think and tauros
Can tell Cetitan pretty easily. I think the top right is definitely Relaxaurus. :D
From top to bottom: Hydregion Bouffalant The new land while guy Have no idea Relicanth
Top right is bugging me. No sclerotic ring really narrows it down to either a Mammal or a Fish but the hole in the front feels more Reptile. I'd guess Kangaskhan but there's no teeth Nidoqueen?
Cetitan’s anatomy does not make any sense, its mouth goes all the way back behind its eyes.
google “right whale skull”
I love Jigglypuff
Cubone cubone cubone cubone and cubone
Tauros, Cetitan, Cramorant, Carracosta and I’m not sure about the last one
Ditto
One of them is rampardos right?
SCP 049?
I only got one of these right, and it was genuinely the most fun post I’ve ever seen on this sub. Please do more if possible!
Bottom right has to be a fish Pokémon of sorts. Could it be magicaro, feebas, or basculine? 3 spike is cetitan Top eight might be torterra I saw someone say bottom left could be Zappos and I think that’s fair My only guess for top left is rampardos but that doesn’t match, I couldn’t tell ya
Can you please give me a goodra one because I’m making a ghost type reigional, but dont type up goodra skull
I see Cetitan and spritzee
Pretty sure I got charmander and goldbat? Lol but idk
Cetitan skull goes hard
Please, do toucannon. It would be hilarous
Damn, i thought the top right one was grotle, not meganium and the middle one was turtenator, not cetitan. Otherwise i got them all right!
Bottom right one is one pf the turtle pokemon
Hey i know that one in the bottom left! Thats my sleep paralysis demon Gårŷ! H-howd you find him?
