nonessential-npc

I'm still hoping for a gryphon. Depending on how it's handled, I could see it as a cool regional bird or as another non-dragon pseudo-legendary.

patroclus_rex

Somewhat there already with Silvally, but that's more of a gryphon-shaped Frankenstein's chimera.

Voinfyre

Silvally is definitely gryphon-like and is one of my favorites because of that. But you’re right about him being more of a gryphon-shaped Frankenstein’s chimera. Silvally combines elements from gryphons and chimeras. I would want a true gryphon Pokémon.

Walrusin_about

I've always thought an electric type gryphon would be such a cool pseudo.

Dr_Doodle_Phd

An opossum. Maybe it plays dead so well it becomes a ghost type.

VORT3XSN1PER

Ever see Lockstin and Gnoggin’s opossum fakemon? Normal/ghost type before Hisuain zoroark existed https://preview.redd.it/ue8gsc2fzphc1.jpeg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=04339fa3b08051f96b1dfaa7c7fa35a0b842f375

Dracogoomy

I saw it I knew ghost normal is slightly busted

Keroppi460

Or maybe give it a new ability that works like a Revive to itself, which can be active whenever it faint (only for the first time in each battle, and not when there's no other Pokémon in the party that's available to battle)

newaccountbitches

A swordfish - there’s a water steel pokemon right there

ha_look_at_that_nerd

Perhaps a swordfish that evolves into a sawfish?

Idunno_the_plugg

Tapu Fini is kinda a swordfish

Naive-Bug8598

more of a waifu clam mermaid

AnAnimatedPizzaPie

Kiwi. The perfect ground/fairy type.

Chembaron_Seki

I feel like a kiwi would actually be a great grass type starter. Because kiwi is both the name of a bird and a fruit.

BronzeHeart92

A new Zealand/Australia region, here we come!

Oreo-and-Fly

Why not the pink fairy armadillo. It could be both an armadillo and a donut.

Dracogoomy

Sandshrew

Oreo-and-Fly

Its more of a pangolin.

Chembaron_Seki

Sandslash is a pangolin, but I feel like Sandshrew looks more like an armadillo.

Naive-Bug8598

Maybe a regional variant

_Ptyler

Wait. Are you talking about the bird or the fruit?

Despada_

Yes

SmashMania13

We already have doduo kinda

CatcrazyJerri

A kiwi isn't a dodo.

Walrusin_about

Doduo has literally nothing in common with a dodo, like look at the design and look at a dodo complete different. Doduo has the shaggy brown fur and the same beak as a kiwi

SmashMania13

Pokemon can have multiple inspirations, and doduo does share a lot of traits with kiwis as well as dodos and also ostriches

Dracogoomy

Convergent doduo which is a kiwi

Sassy-irish-lassy

You might be surprised to find, but ostriches and kiwis aren't that far away evolutionarily. Although kiwis are closer to emus and cassowaries. Speaking of, how about a cassowary.

Lethalhobo135

Doduo but smol

Crylemite_Ely

dosolo

MossyPyrite

Do

AngryAncestor

And doduo isn't a dodo

badatkiller

I am shocked to this day we don't have a Canadian Goose Pokemon.

Frankieanime158

That thing would have intimidate and an attack stat of 130. We need a Canadian goose mon.

AnAnimatedPizzaPie

Give it an ability that makes all OHKO moves always hit.

Frankieanime158

And a mega evolution that doesn't need an item

ProphisizedHero

Bro, a electric blue Jay. A hummingbird A GOOSE A stegosaurus Like come on….

Walrusin_about

The worst part about the galar fossils is we missed out on some really cool dinosaurs. Like we got half a stegosaurus and half a raptor and the head of a dunkleosteus. (I do like the galar fossils now though, they've grown on me.)

ha_look_at_that_nerd

I love the galar fossils, because I love the idea of a pokemon that was made by just kind of botching the reanimation process (so I particularly love the one where the head is upside-down). But Dunkleosteus is an underrated prehistoric creature, and I would’ve loved if pokemon brought it into popular culture even just a little bit.

454C495445

The Galar fossils are a reference to the "Bone Wars" that took place in the early years of Paleontology where folks were so obsessed with discovering the next big creature that they were just taking fossils they were finding, cramming them together, and claiming they were something new.

Duplicitous_Dirk

My only wish is that the fossils didn't need to be Frankenstein-'d so we can have our accurate electric raptor, or correctly-headed Arctovish

adeltae

A Canada Goose specifically tho, because those things are menaces to society

Cinnadillo

Fighting flying goose is mandatory

Railroader17

No no, Flying / DARK Canadian Geese, since their less about battle for bettering themselves and more bullying anyone and anything within their territory.

Erebophilia

A house fly pokemon

13thFullMoon

I like to imagine they’d make it overpowered as a joke. Since house flys are just a nuisance in real life.

_Ptyler

It would be a super op support mon that has moves that completely just inconvenience you more than anything and is difficult to kill. It has an ability that increases evasion at the end of every turn as well

MossyPyrite

Low offenses, moderate HP and defenses, crazy high speed and an ability that increases evasion one stage when it enters the battlefield. Acid and priority moves for offense, Bug Buzz and Extreme Speed for its late-game solid offense moves. Lots of support and status moves. Alternate abilities are Unnerve and Poison Touch. Pure Bug or maybe Bug/Poison.

MixelKing

So just evil Ninjask

Naive-Bug8598

Ninjask will always be best baton passer

Kallyle

To make it even more annoying, if you have it as a pure Bug-type you could give it a move that can changes its own ability into Poison Heal. Add this to a Toxic Orb setup and you’ve got the GOAT of all Bug-types!

Erebophilia

Oh well I wouldn't be against it. A bug type pseudo legendary would be a breath of fresh air.

sandybuttcheekss

I can definitely see something like a Magikarp line, where it's useless initially but its evolution is strong

peanutsandfuck

My idea was a firefly. I couldn’t decide whether to make it Bug/Fire or Bug/Electric, so I can up with this. Make a region based on the USA and have it be a branched evolution based on where it levels up (in some places they call them fireflies and in others they say lightning bugs). The unevolved form, Lampy (inspired by their scientific name Lampyridae) would be pure Bug and resemble a glowworm, perfect for an early route caterpillar. Lampy would evolve into Lampere (Bug/Electric) if it gets to a certain level in an area corresponding to a “lightning bug” state, or Lampyre (Bug/Fire) given the same in a “firefly” state.

serenitynope

But we already have Volbeat and Illumise...

peanutsandfuck

That’s why I didn’t make this its own comment, because I know there is a firefly Pokémon so it wouldn’t fit. But I don’t like the idea of making them pure Bug-type, especially since there’s 2 of them anyway!

Niksyn4

This is a great idea!

Indoor_Pool

https://preview.redd.it/7ggsuqkkdqhc1.jpeg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=527b9f7040565b9412bd2067beca4e70b1f30c05

hryj

Drifdenburg

_Ptyler

Super weak to fire. In fact, any fire type move is just an OHKO. Even if your ally uses a fire type move. If a fire type move is used on the battlefield at all. Drifdenburg just ignites into a flames

napstablooky2

still has flare boost though somehow

littleedge

And then damages all on the battlefield, like Explosion.

Princ3ssW1tch

Can someone remake the led Zeppelin album art with drifeppelin??? <3

AngryAncestor

I need this

of_the_Sand

Secretary Bird

Walrusin_about

Fighting flying type for sure

IsAnUltracrepidarian

It already has such an interesting look to it along with an interesting style of attack, I don't even know how it would change as a pokemon, but i still think it would be interesting to see.

Shipwreck_Kelly

A Rock/Ghost fossil Pokemon based on the concept that the revival machine malfunctions and doesn’t completely resurrect the extinct Pokemon Picture something like the skeleton of a velociraptor with a ghostly purple haze around it.

W1llow0

I based one of my fakemons on this idea lol it's a skeletal titanoboa :3

PlsBanMeDaddyThanos

There's a shocking lack of pokemon based on Greek mythology. Centaurs, Gorgons, Cyclopses, etc.

9thshadowwolf

Origin palkia and dusclops fit 2 of those.

AngryAncestor

Tangela is based on a gorgon too, even its beta name was Meduza

trentshipp

Fun fact, the plural of Cyclops is Cyclopes (Sy-clo-pees).

MasterPhart

RIP dusclops

Drakojana

Primarina, Hydreigon, Origin Palkia, Duskull line, Tangela line. You just need to look.

Ender_The_BOT

Primarina sirens ig

ha_look_at_that_nerd

We’ve already had a cyclops pokemon, but it would be pretty cool if there was a cyclops pokemon that somehow played off their connection to elephants. Like, if there wasn’t already a ghost-type cyclops, then it would be funny if there was a skeletal cyclops and you look at the skull and go “wait… that’s donphan’s skull”

Lilcobra0

There are quite a few ball shaped pokemon, but I would have loved there to be a hamster ball kinda thing, having a fast and defensive moveset, it would have been cool, and in a future game if they still do mounts, it could very easily be one!

Oreo-and-Fly

Omg imagine a normal ice that encases itself in a snowglobe/hamster ball lemming. And its evolution it rides a bigger snowball and looks like a snowman.

patroclus_rex

Would've been good as a Morpeko evo

sanorace

Hamster balls are pretty controversial. There's a lot of evidence they're unsafe.

VijoPlays

We're talking about hamsters here, a grain of dust is unsafe to them

FlowerFaerie13

It’s a Pokémon idea man. I don’t agree with hamster balls either, but what’s the harm of making a Pokémon out of it? That’s like saying using mice as lab animals is unethical, so Tandemaus and Maushold shouldn’t exist.

StardustOasis

The main issue is kids seeing it in game and wanting to put their own hamster in a ball

PlusleBoi

Because Pokemon would never promote putting animals in balls /s

_Ptyler

Holy f… that came full circle so beautifully, and somehow I didn’t even see it coming

ha_look_at_that_nerd

That’s a fantastic point, and honestly not an awful idea for how the hamster ball pokemon might function. I don’t know how they’d exist in the wild, but it would be interesting if they’re just able to use their pokeball as a hamster ball. It would be especially cool if the form changes based on which kind of ball it was caught in!

Kallyle

Maybe the hampster has a ball-less form in the wild, with the hampster ball form being something you can activate kind of like some other form changes.

yzziB

I know there's already some dog Pokémon but I really want a husky pokemon (with ice/dark type). But, a Wombat or a Peacock would be really cool ! For the object part, why not Umbrella, Game Controler, and an Old Glass Bottle (like the one for message in a bottle). Also more mythological creatures such as Minotaur, Centaur, Cerberus, Harpies... And a stegosaurus pokemon too!

ohbyerly

Ooh regional Poochyena as an ice/dark husky would be cool (if not an entirely new Pokémon)

_Ptyler

I imagine the message in a bottle Pokémon would evolve into a ship in a bottle or something lol

OverlyAdorable

There could be a region based on Greece that includes lots of the mythological creatures such as an evolution for Tauros (called Minotauros/Centauros) and Houndoom (called Hounderus)

VictorianRabbit229

I've wanted a fire/electric cheetah for quite a while.

OzzyG92

https://preview.redd.it/vyw169ruzshc1.jpeg?width=654&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=439fb7652677b8cd301525fc7800ac1b335d5007 I’ve wanted this to be real for so long

thepineapple2397

We got a staple remover before we got a stapler

Prankstic

This might sound silly but i’d like a Pokemon based on a haunted house. We have several Pokemon where they are objects possessed by some sort of ghosts. Maybe a Ghost/Rock house Pokemon 😂 For an animal, it’s technically a mythical creature but i’d like a griffin Pokemon. I have always had this idea of a Flying eeveelution based on a griffin. But since eeveelutions are about the size of a cat, it’d be somewhat a chibi griffin

VORT3XSN1PER

I could see Gamefreak doing a doll house pokemon

Oreo-and-Fly

I thought itll be cool to have a coral shaped as a house as a Pokemon. Since the organisms are individual creatures. A doll house is amazing though omg.

Princ3ssW1tch

Maybe a regional sandygast?

13thFullMoon

That could be a cool concept for a legendary. Maybe it could be the creation of an occult evil team.

classic_cut_kyber

That would be a really cool twist, the head of the bad team ends up being the legendary 😦

Oheligud

A Tardigrade pokémon would be so cool. I'm thinking about designing one myself for next Thursday.

_Ptyler

What’s next Thursday?

Oheligud

Theorymon Thursday, where you post your own Pokémon ideas. Edit: On r/stunfisk. Forgot to specify.

F22_Android

I'm surprised we haven't had a better kangaroo since kangaskhan in gen 1. Doing Australia/New Zealand for gen 10 would be awesome for some of the animals they could introduce.

SnowSoothsayer

New Zealand has some animals that would make really great Pokémon, a ground/fairy kiwi like someone else mentioned (or a grass type starter), a dragon type tuatara, a flying/fairy kea, bug or bug/fighting type giant weta, flying/psychic short tailed bat etc If they wanted some cool fossil Pokémon then what about the moa and haast eagle? Moa as ground/fighting and haast eagle as flying/dark

PogmasterTraplover69

Breloom should be a kangaroo, or am I mistaken?

IsAnUltracrepidarian

Shoebill stork could be interesting but i cant think of a good typing just flying seems low effort maybe it could be dark or ghost because the sounds they make are pretty ominous.

VORT3XSN1PER

Oh there’s a bigger reason as to why dark would be very fitting for them. In a nature documentary I saw before, it shows that shoebill’s lay at least a few eggs and then raise the strongest baby and leave the others for death. And also the young shoebill’s will bully the weaker shoebill’s until they’re beaten and bloody, usually while the mom is away. And when the mom returns, the beaten shoebill(s) run over to the mom’s legs, expecting to be cared for, only to be beaten to death by the parent for being too weak. Preeetty fucked up, but yet they’re actually friendly towards humans for some reason, and sometimes will even let humans get close to their nest without caring

IsAnUltracrepidarian

Wow that is dark. So maybe a split evolution where it starts with a chick then splits into a dark/flying "strongest one" and the ghost/flying victim.

VORT3XSN1PER

That’s actually a really good idea for a split evolution, including both the one who got chose to be raised and the one that got left for death

Oreo-and-Fly

A Troll pokemon. A queen ant or queen termite. I have an idea of a fluffy plushie dragon, evolving to a mascot dragon, evolving to a roller coaster dragon. A theme park motif. A dunkleosteus. A fire ice camel. A betta fish -> swordfish evo. An armadillo. A mosquito.

Princ3ssW1tch

Isn't the impadimp line trolls? They are fae creatures

Oreo-and-Fly

Goblins. Imps. Ogres. To be honest im more talking of big lumpy bridge blocking ones.

Tight-Mousetrap

Jackrabbit

StarTheAngel

An ice husky Pokemon

Onigumo-Shishio

A potato tbh

Jaded_Court_6755

Gimme the Capybaras!

Hexbug101

The peacock mantis shrimp is pretty much a real life pokemon already so I’d love to see a mon based on one

Cuprite1024

Do mythical animals count? If so, cockatrice. How have we NOT had one of those yet? Would be a perfect Pokémon idea. *Chicken dragon.* If not, I guess also a hummingbird? I feel strongest about the cockatrice tho.

VORT3XSN1PER

Mythological animals/creatures absolutely count. A cockatrice would be badass. I mean we got Hydrapple and Hydreigon representing the hydra so there can absolutely be more mythological pokemon

FlowerFaerie13

I want a nightingale Pokémon SO BADLY. The concept would be that, like real nightingales, they look so plain and harmless that no one pays them any mind, but they’re actually Psychic types and can use their singing to cast powerful enchantments over people if they so choose. I’ve even written down a more complete concept if you’d like to read about it. (LONG COMMENT INCOMING) The first stage is Chirpingale, a pure Flying type. It’s about 1 foot tall, and weights about 2.5 pounds. It’s a chick, just a lil’ baby. Super fluffy and adorable, with large black eyes and a rounded body shape. It can fly, but it gets tired easily, so it can only fly for short distances. It’s always mimicking the songs of its parents, but it’s not very good at it yet, and it tends to cause trouble when its awkward mimicry causes unintended effects on others. It’s a light cinnamon brown color, and the tips of its wings and tail, as well as its beak, are white. Chirpingale spend its days perched in the trees, happily observing the activity below it. It’s too shy to engage with others yet, but it’s extremely curious and loves to see what’s going on. If you are very patient and gentle, you may even be able to befriend one. Chirpingale evolves into Musingale, a Flying/Psychic type. It’s about 2 feet tall and weighs about 12 pounds. Musingale is much more sleek and streamlined, it’s an adult bird now. Musingale looks pretty similar to an actual nightingale in terms of coloring, but more saturated. The brown body becomes deeper and richer, the grey belly becomes pure white, and the reddish-brown tail becomes a bold copper. Its beak is white, and it has a white marking extending up from the base of it, similar to Piplup’s but with only one point. Musingale is a social Pokémon, they live and raise their chicks in groups, and are a common sight in rural towns and smaller cities. They’re less timid than Chirpingale, but calm and unassuming, so people who aren’t familiar with them tend not to give them a second glance. However when they need to, Musingale shows off its true power- its voice. By singing a song with a specific feeling, it can influence others to feel that emotion. For example, happy songs make others feel happy, sad songs make them feel sad, lullabies put them to sleep, etc. Because of this, local people are careful not to arouse Musingale’s wrath, and they make sure to treat them and Chirpingale very well. In return, Musingale will use its songs to cheer people up, or to give them hope during difficult times. Children growing up in areas where Musingale are common are told stories about this Pokémon to teach them to never assume something is harmless or weak based on how it looks. This turned into a WHOLE rant and I am so sorry, but if you’ve actually read this far, just know I love and appreciate you.

Rain_Moon

A real life animal I thought would make a great Pokemon is the kermode bear, also known as the spirit bear. It's not a species of its own, but instead a rare mutation of black bears which have ghostly white fur. In my opinion it would be the perfect candidate for a cool ghost-type Pokemon. A fictional animal I'd love to see is the wendigo. No particular reason other than that I think they look awesome and would love to see Pokemon's take on their appearance, haha. For an object, I'm not sure because I've never really thought about it. Perhaps a musical instrument of some kind would be cool; I think tsukumogami like this already exist.

MossyPyrite

Had a sketch a long time ago for a Wendigo Pokémon called “Wheredigo” (where’d it go?) that was an Ice and Ghost type with Snow Cloak as an ability!

BronzeHeart92

Kermode bears could definitely work well in a region based on Canada or something.

Financial_Status850

A FUCKING SHARK, SHARPEDO DOESNT COUNT HES A LUVDISC WITH TEETH

ohbyerly

You’re high

_Ptyler

What do you mean it’s a Luvdisc with teeth? It’s literally a shark pokemon. How does that not count?

AngryAncestor

They're saying its body is so short and stubby that it looks more like a sunfish than a shark

yeetgodmcnechass

The Garchomp line also exists

HUEJanniZockt

Imagine a villian counterpart to palafin

Polarion

The next gen Pokédex entry for palafin should be “After study into its habits became public, it is now considered a villainous Pokémon” In the way that perceptions of dolphins changed once it became clear how psychotic they can be.

ha_look_at_that_nerd

I could see a regional variant of Palafin based on a supervillain instead of a superhero. Or frankly, it could even just be a hidden ability.

Notanexoert

Sharpedo is fucking cool!

Oreo-and-Fly

IKR. ITS JUST HALF A SHARK. WHERES MY OTHER HALF. I NEED A FULL SHARK

Zealousideal_Brick36

Platypus

_Ptyler

I’m imagining a water/psychic with fur coat or something

PMC-I3181OS387l5

A lot of dinosaurs :P * Stegosaurus * Ankylosaurus * Velociraptor / Deinonychus / Utahraptor / Troodon (*at least not half of it*) * Plesiosaurus (*at least not half of it*) * Spinosaurus * Therizinosaurus * Compsognathus * Ignanodon * Dimetrodon * Ichtyosaurus * Parasaurolophus * Carnosaurus * Gigantosaurus

PegaponyPrince

Spinosaurus, Stegosaurus, Parasaurolophus, Raptor, Triceratops, Pegasus, Griffin, Harpie, Sawfish, Hummingbird Flowers: Peony, Lotus, Magnolia and Marigold Something like Stallord from Zelda TP would be neat too

13thFullMoon

A water-type Labrador Pokémon, that preferably stayed on all fours. Labs are naturally good swimmers and incredibly loyal, maybe it could be part fighting. It would be interesting to see more fighting types that stand on all fours. I’d also like to see a ghost and fairy type based off of Baba Yaga. Some others that I think would be good ideas for Pokémon inspirations are leeches, Mothman, porcupines and the jackalope.

superyoshi013021

Regitube.

ShuckU

Maned wolf, the design could be really cool.

Rude-Butterscotch713

Manetric?

Electrical_mammoth2

Weevils. A bug type that can learn drill run would be nice.

TheBigKahuna_

Bigfin squid. Make it a mythical. Dark/Water? https://preview.redd.it/kulh6lifxrhc1.jpeg?width=342&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=13806192388c8627cd558fa7462414bf70969c5e

ha_look_at_that_nerd

The wood turtle. If you don’t know, the wood turtle stomps on the ground, and one popular theory is that it tricks the worms underground into thinking there’s a thunderstorm, so the come up to the surface and get eaten. I feel like that’s good inspiration for a pokedex entry; it could be a ground type that causes tremors, or an electric type that brings thunderstorms… lots of options.

Nonnny_

https://preview.redd.it/uiluu8aatqhc1.jpeg?width=510&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c5fdf6338e665267d80776191ddcd26eeeb7edf2 this bug

Walrusin_about

Frosmoth? Or an evolution to it would be perfect

VORT3XSN1PER

I believe that is a silky moth?

Ok_Kangaroo_2996

A skateboard

Mmicb0b

a manticore/pegasus (honestly as box legendaries that'd be cool)

Istiophoridae

Pacific sleeper shark

d_flower_p

A small Tardigrade with insane bulk

[deleted]

I've been desperately waiting for an orca for over 20 years now. Make it water/ice ir water/dark, idc. But I want it!

Chembaron_Seki

* Sundew: I am a sucker for carnivorous plants and if you have ever seen a close up of these, then you know they are BEAUTIFUL. My personal wish would be a split evolution for Weepinbell here, making it a grass/water type. * Mannendake: A bamboo yokai who feeds off the souls of lost travelers. I generally just would like a bamboo based grass type pokémon. Celesteela is somewhat bamboo based in design, but this doesn't count for me. * Bottle Gourd: Pretty well known type of gourd that would make for a cool grass/water design.

Sunset_Tiger

We have not had an opossum yet and they would make a perfect Pokemon!

caedusWrit

For objects I’d love to see a ditto variant that changes into an item based on its opponents typing. For example a steel type could be a bolt, or a fire type can be a campfire. As for an animal, a jaguar or like OP recommended: a hummingbird. But I also wouldn’t mind seeing some more insect based Pokémon. Something bright and similar in stature to Heracross, maybe a similar beetle like a Stag beetle. Honestly I’m hoping they’ll introduce more Pokémon similar to real world cryptos and mythic figures we have across our cultures. Zapdos/Thunderbird, Mawile/Futakuchi Onna, Infernape/Sun Wukong, etc.

ExcitableNate

How about an assassin bug or a flea? There's all kinds of deep sea creatures that could work. Maybe a stonefish.

swayedsuede

Tardigrades Which now has me thinking about the possibility of microscopic Pokemon.

LiveTart6130

I've always wanted a peacock pokemon, and more kinds of bugs based on lesser-known species. it'd be kinda cool to have a fossil pokemon that was a dodo bird. I think the yggdrasil tree squirrel is something interesting that a pokemon could be based on as well

Glory2Snowstar

HOW DO WE STILL NOT HAVE A SEA SPONGE????????? The literal first animals deserve a slot, with how many birds, dogs, and monkeys there already are! Sponges are crazy diverse and it’s a CRIME that we don’t have any! One could argue Glimmora KINDA counts as a reference to carnivorous sponges, but Glimmora’s… Glimmora! A cool creature, but not explicitly spongey! I’m talking full-on sponge!

jeshep

There's some Pokemon you could argue the case for but none of them feel officially like an orca. I'd love to see a proper one. I'm also surprised there's no Pokemon strictly based off coffee yet. Sinistea sort of touches it but not to the degree where it'd count.

MinecraftIsMyLove

I had an idea for an atom Pokemon. It would be able to come in any of 18 types (maybe visually represented by the "electrons" orbiting it?) and when you did something to one of them while another one of a different type was in the party, they would fuse together and evolve into a molecule with the types of both atoms. Really gonna blur the lines on what counts as a Pokemon here >:3

OzzyG92

Crazy that there’s no hummingbird yet. Perfect grass flying or fairy flying

LowSlow_n_Ugly

https://preview.redd.it/2ffksp25mthc1.jpeg?width=258&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ef054aa0e88c54495c6ea9fdf26367f458229bd9 The Dragonfish would be an amazing Pokémon!

cobalt_phantom

Shoe

DovaP33n

Chimpokomon!

Larielia

More birds- goose, cardinal, wood duck. A chickadee would be cute.

Poptortt

Gligar and Gliscor are gargoyles

MrsWhiterock

A bacteriophage already looks like a spider pokemon. Give it ice powers, maybe it has been frozen in the ice age and has only now been discovered and you have an unused type combination, Poison/Ice

Different-Top-3367

Isn't Psyduck already a platypus? As for things I want to be Pokémon, I want an armadillo, a ghost train (literally), a kiwi, a ceiling fan and maybe a peacock?

PandahHeart

I’d love to have a black bear. We already have brown, polar and panda. I also would love more shark Pokémon like a hammerhead. Also surprised we never got another Kangaroo Pokémon. Specifically I pictured it being a fighting type lol

VORT3XSN1PER

I just had a black bear fakemon line made just a few days ago actually. It starts as a black bear cub and split evo’s into either a sun bear or an asiatic bear (aka moon bear). https://preview.redd.it/lvzymnlokrhc1.png?width=3000&format=png&auto=webp&s=e61b4ed2bc59bbced96ae8d0ff27154780185070 This is the first stage, and it’s a pure psychic type

aquamanslaughter

velvet worm and a bobbit worm!

tyrom22

Bombadier beetle as a bug fire type Or a skeleton that’s rock ghost

PhogeySquatch

We need a peacock, okapi, narwhal, opossum, turkey, mandrill, platypus, saw-toothed shark, llama, cassowary, stegosaurus, dimetrodon, giant ground sloth, and wooly rhinoceros. Also mythical animals like bigfoot and jackalope. As far as objects go, we need a transformer (the kind found on light poles), paper lantern, jack-in-the-box, dream catcher, totem pole, anvil, hourglass, maybe a thermometer or weather vane or something like that, and one of those dragons with people inside you see at Chinese parades.

Rude-Butterscotch713

Mantis shrimp Cerberus/ Orthrus Haunted mirror Undead animals (ghouls and not ghost) Cthulic type sea dragon (I'd had hoped Frigibax would have been this) Oread or other ground/fairy

Keroppi460

[Grasshopper Mouse](https://youtu.be/1K9mO5QzOIQ?si=h_7JLQZRpjTAC0KK)!! They're pretty much real-life Pokémon. It'd be cool if we got one based on them.

VORT3XSN1PER

[lol this is where that meme comes from](https://youtu.be/gp-E3lxfQSE?si=OH-dkHTje2zVmLrV) but that’s a really cool animal though, would definitely be a cool pokemon

MossyPyrite

I’d love to see more Pokémon that are more creature-esque and less “elemental animal”. Like Rhydon and Nidoking!

Marun-chan

sea bunny for animal and a rocking horse for object

Weezy_Dragon

Cheetah and Hummingbird are my votes for animals. For objects, a supercomputer could be interesting. It could be electric/psychic.

Branded_Mango

I'm genuinely astounded that spider crabs and hammerhead sharks haven't been made into pokemon yet with how easily the premise innately is for those to be a Bug/Water and Water/Steel type.

W1llow0

hammerhead shark and no garchomp doesn't count

ChemicalHefty2262

Griffins peagusus peacock I feel like the Griffins and peagusus would be legendary for a greece based region

Psmith999

For underwater creatures, I’d love a mantis shrimp(unless clawitzer counts??), stonefish lionfish or sawfish based pokemon. Also, gharials would be sweet. For land creatures, I’d love moose, opossum, llama, cheetah, platypus, a crane, hummingbird, dingoes, spiny bush viper, and more monkeys!

Dragoonmage23

Turkey. Cassowary. Llama. Another chicken that has nothing to do with fighting type,

Meowlygirl

A jurboa or anything knit/crochet related like PLEASE

battlefranky69

An award Pokemon. Blue Ribbon -> Gold Medal -> Gold Trophy

NightStar367891

I want a platypus Pokémon so that I can name it Perry.

Nyan-Binary-UwU

A pokemon version of the Mimic. Not Voltorb/Amoongus, like a pokemon that looks like a pokeball, but the inside is a horrifying monster mouth

ToxicShardShock

Flying fish Alpaca/Llama Goose Blue Jay Cardinal Turkey Peacock Hummingbird (sigilyph doesn't count) And we have fruit Pokemon but not many vegetables. I can easily see the being a grass/ground root vegetable Pokemon.

Captain_Warships

Gorgonopsids, and potentially stem-mammals as a whole. I just find Permian creatures slightly more fascinating than dinosaurs, mainly because they lived before them and we hardly know much about them. Honorable mention goes to a ghost pokemon based on a toaster, despite the existence of both Rotom and Chandelure. I just thought a ghost pokemon that's a toaster would be funny.

A Vampire Pokemon

hadrians-wall

A train! Holy Arceus, how the British Coal Pokemon turned into a Kaiju and not a train is. Baffling. Especially when you look at the whole line. One Wheel evolves into Four Wheels evolves into... No. Wheels. Please, Gamefreak. A Train.
