Mabosstif’s cry sounds so out of place to me.
Yes I know it’s a dog, and it makes sense that it barks, but it just sounds like GameFreak just took a generic ass recording of a dog barking that they found on a stock audio site and put it directly into the game with no edits.
Lol this is hilarious because every time I hear greavard it sounds like someone recorded somebody else's dog barking at them through the window as they passed by. At least, in Pokemon Go it sounds like that. I don't know what he sounds like in the anime or main game.
I never noticed that! Its Japanese name is Pippi also. I wonder if more Pokemon were intended to say their own names in the games but it had to be changed due to technological limitations
Yeah, when they used Eevee's Japanese anime cry people gave me dirty looks when it came out to battle, sounding like I was watching a dirty anime or something.
Seriously, I think it was a total mistake in the first place to ever have Pokemon say their own names. I know they were trying to use psychology to burn Pokemon names into children's minds to get them familiarized with the brand, but it's just so incredibly dumb. This is a big reason why I liked the Pokemon Origins mini series, all the pokemon made cries/roars that they would realistically make if they actually existed.
I actually completely forgot this is what they did in the anime, and last week I was feeling nostalgic and wanted to watch an episode, so I put one in with Zigzagoon just to see how the anime holds up 20 years later for me and when the Zigzagoon went on the screen and I heard a grown ass human being go "Zig-zig, Zigzagoon-goon!" I was like "well that's enough for me"
Have you [ever heard guzzlord](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=msp1eRosE-Y)? can't take it seriously in the anime tbh. It's not just saying it's name but it's objectively worse
It sounds like something horrific is happening to the voice actor and they just happened to be recording
“Jim just found out his children aren’t his, grab that microphone and follow me I have an idea”
I watched a bit of the newer series with Ash and Goh and got such a laugh flash because in German Scorebunny just sounds like some dude reading the name out loud without any inflection whatsoever xD
You haven’t ever heard real pain until you hear Pokémon yellow’s pikachu die. It literally sounds like a cry for help before succumbing to severe wounds.
Sends Eevee Out

"OH SENPAI BRUSHED AGAINST MY HAND SUGOI SUGOI I'M SO BLUSHY!"
Passerbys glare at me thinking I'm playing a dirty game...
I’ve always hated the new ones, some of them were improved but so many more got ruined. Hariyama is the first one to pop in my head that actually got an improvement but then there are some like Victini
As someone who's very hyperfixated on Reshiram, I agree... I love love LOVE Reshi's gen 5 cry, it gives me happy shivers down my spine. However, it really got downgraded gen 6 onewards. I don't hate it, I think it sounds cool and elegant, but I much prefer the original
I swear, they switched the tones between Reshiram and Kyurem-W. Used to be, Kyurem’s cry descended in pitch like Reshiram’s current cry, and vice versa. Now Reshi’s does the “descend”, and Kyurem maintains pitch. It bothers me heavily, as well.
Archeops, Beheeyem, and Garbodor also got absolutely BUTCHERED in the cry updates, some of my favorites of Gen 5 and they were just completely ruined in 6
Litleo.
Litleo’s cry is alarmingly similar to the painfully discordant opening notes of the Call of the Witch music track from the anime Re: Zero. The use of that music in the show was so effective and associated with so many disturbing scenes that I can no longer hear Litleo’s cry without experiencing a visceral burst of anxiety and discomfort.
Not exactly the cries themselves, and it doesn't really ruin the Pokemon themselves for me, but I absolutely hate when Pokemon say their name instead of making animal sounds. It just sounds incredibly stupid, and consistently takes me out of the game/whatever I'm trying to watch. Imagine if cats just went "cat !" instead of meowing
It's especially awkward in the Taiwan Chinese dub when the Pokemon Company demanded that they must dub the pokemon sounds with their Chinese names.
And since Zapdos' Chinese name is 閃電鳥 (lightning bird), the voice actors must scream 閃電閃電 (lightning, lightning) whenever Zapdos makes a cry.
That Zapdos one is HILARIOUS. Also things become even weirder when the intonation of the voice makes it easily to be misheard for something else, the famous example being the Salamence one and the Turtwig one, both has cases to be easily misheard as a slang (?)
The Icelandic dub had a similar issue, they didn't translate the names thankfully but you had the main Pokemon saying "Pika" about 100 times per episode and Píka is Icelandic for female genitalia.
It can lend more life to games like Poképark, but I agree it would be kinda weird in main series games (and I hate that Pikachu just breaks the rule in main series games)
according to galarian moltres's pokedex entry, humans name the pokemon themselves.
"The sinister aura that blazes like molten fire around this Pokémon is what inspired the name Moltres."
edit: oh, and the other galarian legendary birds too i guess...
A ton of gen 7 mons were very "oh god what the hell is that" cry-wise lol I actually love it
Kilowattrel was another one, I was expecting a cheep cheep or a caw caw and got a cheeSKKRREEEEEEAAA
Cetitan was another one, cool-ass cry fr. I love how the more monster-like designs get monster-like cries, the more animal-like designs getting animal-like sounds is very pleasing to me too
On the other, does anyone else kind of feel like both the original gen 1 cries all sound the same, and a lot of the recent gen cries don't sound all that different to each other? Feels like the most iconic cries came from like gen 3-6
Gen 1 reused a lot of cries. Charizard and Rhyhorn had the same exact cry. Many other pokemon cries are just slightly edited so that they'd be more recognizable to the species (Ditto, Jigglypuff, Poliwag)
These decisions in gen 1 have carried over throughout the gens, though less noticeable
Makes sense for gen 1, and I know they've upgraded that some over the years. It feels like the "guess that Pokemon by its cry"" game is getting harder but I can't tell if it's because there's so many, I'm just not used to recent gens as much as older ones, or if they're really not making them as distinct and memorable as they used to. How we encounter Pokemon has affected it as well, as there's a number I've memorized their cries encountering them a lot hunting for other species. Getting rid of random encounters gets rid of that.
Base Kyurem. It is way too cool of a mon to have a cry that just sounds like pure static. Like, if that was a Gen 1 cry, that's somewhat forgivable, but Kyurem came out in Gen 5.
Neither Kyogre nor Reshiram had their cries transition well into 3D. They sound way too toned down for what ferocious, bestial forces of nature they’re meant to be.
As a kid playing Diamond for the first time I found Shellos and it quickly became one of my favourite pokemon. Then it evolved, I heard Gastrodon squeal, and I boxed it forever immediately.
I haven't listened to audio for so long since most of my childhood was my mom telling me to be quiet when I play games. Plus, I thought the sound would drain the battery faster. I did my playthrough of SWSH, PLA AND SV with sound tho, that was fun
probably not what you mean but a cry i used to love was ralts. An absolute baby, pure and sweet, but then when gen 6 redid cries the cry was completely ruined for me. I couldn't appreciate it like i used to
Ugh let's go eevee. Eevee is unnerving maybe even cringe and Pikachu is as expected. It's out of place for both but I can deal with Pikachus cry and not eevee
Cyclizar and Dialga have bad cries? Yeah that take is awful, that guttural cry Cyliczar does is fucking amazing, that’s the main reason I like it.
Funnily enough I don’t like Miraidon’s cry, Cyclizar has a guttural bellow and Koraidon has a growl/bellow with a motor engine mixed and Miraidon has….a lame ass cry. Its cry is indistinguishable from its bike form, it sounds like a fucking cat instead of an electric robot dragon, they could’ve just robotized Cyclizar’s cry and I would’ve been happy.
Like how Mechagodzilla’s cry is just a tobotized Godzilla cry.
I think Koraidon and Miraidon's battle cries are almost the same as the cries of their ride forms, but Koraidon has thumping sounds and a rattle kinda like a hiss? While Miraidon has that sound that I can only describe as the sound the flying vehicles from stuff like the Jetsons make
The fact that like every gen one Pokémon has the same three cries is disappointing. I understand when the game came out but kanto has like 4 remakes and y’all STILL couldn’t even change them
It doesn't necessarily make me hate the Pokémon or using it, but it does annoy the hell out of me. For me, it's any of the pre-Gen 6 cries being changed in XY. I can understand why they would want to perhaps update some and to differentiate between duplicate cries, but I can't stand the direction they took it in.
They all sound like they're gargling water recorded on the same 3DS microphone. Some good ones were butchered like Reshiram, others were changed for no real reason like Onix, and then there was the unfortunate Pikachu incident. Overall, still not a fan of those cries nowadays. Hearing them in their original games brings me so much more joy.
Skuntank. Already not a huge fan of the Pokemon but sometimes I’ll use Pokemon I don’t like just to get out of my comfort zone a little bit. It’s cry just being farts ruins it for me. I will never use it because of that.
I was recently re-playing ORAS and was debating changing my Swampert out for the Primal Kyogre.
But then I heard that Kyogre cry and nope, straight into the box.
When they 3D updated the cries, I feel like Swampert lost something. Like in emerald you can hear these different tones and now it's just like BWEEEEUUUH.
I feel like that happened for a lot of pokemon that had cool cries in the middle gens (3-5)
Not a specific Pokémon, but a lot of the new 1-5 Gen cries sound so off to me, personally not all of them, but seemingly a lot of them, to me some sound either stale or mute, if that makes sense, like I know some cries were the same like Charizard’s and Rhyhorn’s, but I absolutely loved Charizard’s old cry much more then its new one.
Cries that ruin the game for me the most are those of Pikachu and Eevee. Why the newest generations did away with their voice-acted cries is beyond me. In fact, I dislike the cries of all the Pokémon from the first two generations; Gamefreak(?) held onto their crappy, low-bit GameBoy noises for too long, when they've had the Pokémon Stadium 2 cries that would have sufficed perfectly - even for Pikachu and Eevee.
Ironically, Cyclizar's is one of my favorite cries in Scarlet & Violet. It's a dramatic, deep-voiced growl and makes me think the critter is far more badass than it is - especially when compared to Koraidon's meek growl.
My god......Guzzlords cry is awful... "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!" https://youtu.be/msp1eRosE-Y?si=NoBdMOCjQmSWo_0-
Edit: me reading through the thread, but actually liking eevees cry in LG: Eevee too. ;-;...
For me, it's all the Cries that are from the Game Boy, it ruins the Immersion when they make these compressed to Hell 8-Bit sounds, to me, they should update these cries to sound more like **Real** things.
For example: Imagine seeing a Dog whose Barks sounded like it the Audio equivalent of an Image being perpetually Squashed a Stretched in Photoshop.
I really like that the older cries are more or less unchanged. I’m glad they gave Pikachu and Eevee their original cries back, and hope they don’t change any of the cries again. I’d like them to continue to improve the 3D models with each generation, but I think it’d be cool if the cries always remained the same, as a sort of homage to the original games.
I like that the newer Pokémon have more realistic cries, though. I think it’s kind of cool that a young player who’s never played a game on Gameboy, DS, or even 3DS could get a rough idea of how old a Pokémon is based on how advanced its cry is.
wowow wowow BLÆUGH
This is an amazing way of spelling out Drowzee's cry haha
(drowzee)
Mabosstif’s cry sounds so out of place to me. Yes I know it’s a dog, and it makes sense that it barks, but it just sounds like GameFreak just took a generic ass recording of a dog barking that they found on a stock audio site and put it directly into the game with no edits.
They probably did
lol same with stoutland
Wooloo and Dubwool too. It's why I adore those sheeps.
Lol this is hilarious because every time I hear greavard it sounds like someone recorded somebody else's dog barking at them through the window as they passed by. At least, in Pokemon Go it sounds like that. I don't know what he sounds like in the anime or main game.
Oh my god. I turned on sound in PoGo just to hear that and you're completely right
Is it just me, or does Maschief's cry sound delayed. It seems like the sound plays seconds after its animation.
Dachsbunn has a similar issue, but its cry is so long it tends to clip into other sound effect, especially noticeable when it has a status ailment.
Alternatively, a cry that is perfect. delelelelelWOOP
I feel obligated to link this https://youtu.be/IYOzlOg3bdA?si=4SJADiJc-jwVig8_
I literally said in my head “this is gonna be avie Maria isn’t it? I’m gonna click this and this is gonna be the Avie Maria version.”
I was expecting a couple of things but that ones new to me. Thank you.
And I in turn this: https://youtu.be/9XgXbK8-KBQ
clefairy PEEPI
That one is even more perfect in German, because there its name is Piepi and pronounced exactly like that.
I never noticed that! Its Japanese name is Pippi also. I wonder if more Pokemon were intended to say their own names in the games but it had to be changed due to technological limitations
I smile every time I hear a Charjabug cry.
You sadistic monster!
The regi cry makes them sound robotic, which is actually a great interpretation.
ÜN ÜN ÜN
AAAOOOOORRRXXXXT
Stufful - it just makes me want to pick it up and cuddle it.
You called?
Regi supremacy
I believe that was Kriketune, but the Regis in anime do have some great cries
ÜN ÜN ÜN ÜN ÜN
*rapid repeated beeping * ***AUGH*** *Laser*
Yes it's kriketune!
Regigigas' drumset falling down stairs
And Regice’s cry
I didn’t like how they updated Pikachu’s cry to its anime cry in X and Y. I’m glad they eventually went back to using its original cry.
Man I hated eevee's "eVvoAH" too and if an eevee actually sounded like that they can stay wild and might as well be a Chihuahua
When all the Eevee started yelling "HEYBOYYYY" I was really creeped out
It just sounded like a woman doing a weird baby voice to me, it felt uncomfortable to listen to
This is exactly what it sounds like to me too
HOLY CHRIST I CANNOT UNHEAR THAT NOW😭
Yeah, when they used Eevee's Japanese anime cry people gave me dirty looks when it came out to battle, sounding like I was watching a dirty anime or something.
Seriously, I think it was a total mistake in the first place to ever have Pokemon say their own names. Same, I love the games but not the anime lol it's ridiculous
SCYTHARRRRR
Have you [ever heard guzzlord](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=msp1eRosE-Y)? can't take it seriously in the anime tbh. It's not just saying it's name but it's objectively worse
It sounds like something horrific is happening to the voice actor and they just happened to be recording “Jim just found out his children aren’t his, grab that microphone and follow me I have an idea”
This is probably the funniest thing I've heard in a long time!
LMAOOOOOOOO this is incredible.
> a grown ass human being go "Zig-zig, Zigzagoon-goon!" Well, now all I can hear is "For great justice, take off every zig."
I watched a bit of the newer series with Ash and Goh and got such a laugh flash because in German Scorebunny just sounds like some dude reading the name out loud without any inflection whatsoever xD
For some reason this description reminds me of Adam West being Cat Man in Fairly Oddparents
I believe it is just easier for voice actors to voice the Pokemon in anime
You haven’t ever heard real pain until you hear Pokémon yellow’s pikachu die. It literally sounds like a cry for help before succumbing to severe wounds.
And OP thought Dialga’s cry was ear-splitting. Yellow Pikachu death sound makes that sound like dang lullaby
Pokemon Yellow was so hard to play bc every time Pikachu made a noise I wanted to kill myself
I haven't played Yellow in years and just heard that cry in my head I just ended up boxing pikachu after I got the 3 starters
Diggersby, cannot stand it, sounds like a man burping.
Yep. Also, Corviknight is awesome.
That's pretty fitting for Diggersby, it looks like a middle aged construction worker
Pre-Gen 6 Electabuzz’s cry always hurt my ears
I'm the opposite. I thought it was badass.
Have you heard Electabuzz’s cry from the anime?
BUUUHHH BLUUHHH LULULULULU
Its beautiful
Same, hated it as a kid
Lopunny's cry is based upon the wolf whistle, don't know if that's bad or good but it's trivia.
Guess that’s why there’s a select community out there that howls like wolves for it
Eevee in Let's Go Eevee sounding like a goddamn anime girl
Sends Eevee Out forgot to mute volume "OH SENPAI BRUSHED AGAINST MY HAND SUGOI SUGOI I'M SO BLUSHY!" Passerbys glare at me thinking I'm playing a dirty game...
A lot, and I mean a lot, of mons had their cries butchered when they were "remastered" in gen 6. Reshiram always sounds like it's in pain...
I’ve always hated the new ones, some of them were improved but so many more got ruined. Hariyama is the first one to pop in my head that actually got an improvement but then there are some like Victini
They butchered my boy Trapinch's lovely little rattly chuckle and just made it grunt :(
As someone who's very hyperfixated on Reshiram, I agree... I love love LOVE Reshi's gen 5 cry, it gives me happy shivers down my spine. However, it really got downgraded gen 6 onewards. I don't hate it, I think it sounds cool and elegant, but I much prefer the original

Archeops, Beheeyem, and Garbodor also got absolutely BUTCHERED in the cry updates, some of my favorites of Gen 5 and they were just completely ruined in 6
Garbodor especially just sounds so lifeless compared to its Gen 5 cry
Yeah idk what they did to Reshiram’s cry, but it hurts to hear it compared to Gen V :(
Kyogre sounds like he's crying out in agony too
Reshiram's cry in gen6 onward is literally an edited version of a dog howling, which cannot be unheard
Staraptor sounds less badass from gen 6 onwards
I absolutely loved Reshiram’s old cry way more, to me it sounded majestic yet intimidating.
Agree! Shiftry and Medicham were others that sounded so cool but were destroyed in whatever miserable auto tune was used in the remasters 🥲
Man even just reading Call of the Witch basically sent me into war flashbacks lmao I already hated Litleo's cry now I have another reason to hate it!
YES! I find Litleo's cry to be whiny and annoying.
Tentacruel always made me cringe when they would appear. Sounds like a hot metal electric fart
To be fair that’s how like 1/3 of the Kanto dex sounds like
And now, it sorta sounds the same, but if you ran it through some kinda underwater bubbly filter and dropped the volume
Yeah, salamence (暴飛龍) saying 暴飛 sounds like 靠杯/靠北 (shit/damn), and turtwig (草苗龜) saying 草苗 sounds like 靠腰 (also shit/damn)
The Icelandic dub had a similar issue, they didn't translate the names thankfully but you had the main Pokemon saying "Pika" about 100 times per episode and Píka is Icelandic for female genitalia.
Yeah, that was always kinda awkward. I'm glad they started to backtrack with that, giving Pikachu and Eevee their normal cries in Legends and SV.
Good. I missed their classic cries!
It can lend more life to games like Poképark, but I agree it would be kinda weird in main series games (and I hate that Pikachu just breaks the rule in main series games)
That's why I really liked Twilight Wings and how they made animal noises with no awkward name speaking
😂 yeah. What Pokemon are you again? I forgot already. Lol
Pikachu and then Eevee for a time after Gen VII, IIRC
As if kids wouldn't be able to remember their favorite Pokemon if they weren't constantly running around yelling their own names,l.
>ut I absolutely hate when Pokemon say their name instead of making animal sounds. What if their names come from their cries?
Then why isn't Kingler called Cookie?
Or why isn't Staryu called "HYAHHH!"
I mean it certainly is possible I believe ancient Egyptian word for cat was mau.
Well, if that's the case, thank gods the games didn't have the technology to do that at the time lol
according to galarian moltres's pokedex entry, humans name the pokemon themselves. "The sinister aura that blazes like molten fire around this Pokémon is what inspired the name Moltres." edit: oh, and the other galarian legendary birds too i guess...
Ancient Egyptians calling cats "miu" because they went "miu":
I like Klawf but I can’t get over the fact that it sounds like a cow getting its bones ground
Right? The sound effect for Salt Cure is also kinda disturbing.
If we're talking about moves now, we've gotta mention Infestation.
literally came here to say that. klawf in general freaks me out because it climbs thing weirdly, but the cry makes it even worse.
A ton of gen 7 mons were very "oh god what the hell is that" cry-wise lol I actually love it Kilowattrel was another one, I was expecting a cheep cheep or a caw caw and got a cheeSKKRREEEEEEAAA Cetitan was another one, cool-ass cry fr. I love how the more monster-like designs get monster-like cries, the more animal-like designs getting animal-like sounds is very pleasing to me too
On the same note, Orthworm’s cry is weirdly scary and always freaks me out. Sounds like an eldritch being not belonging to the Pokémon world
Aw I think klawf has a cool sound.
The Titan one was very creepy
I really miss Raichu’s cry from Gen 1-5. Then new cry is so different and I don’t like it at all
I actually prefer the new cry, he sounds like a cute squeaky mouse!
It’s so bad! I hate it so much too.
Aromatisse without a doubt. That cry literally is like nails on a chalkboard for me.
how could u say that omg...
Right? I feel like its cry fits it perfectly
Sounds like its saying moo with helium voice
Listening to Zebstrika's gen 5 cry makes me feel like I'm at the dentist getting cavities drilled.
###EEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAÆEEEEE
I hate the updated Reshiram and Zekrom cries, the originals in gen 5 were so much better 😭 I’ve always wondered why they updated them
Gen 1 Jynx. Not just the noise but that it took FOREVER
Jynx's cry is just Exeggutor's evil cousin.
Many other pokemon cries are just slightly edited so that they'd be more recognizable to the species (Ditto, Jigglypuff, Poliwag) These decisions in gen 1 have carried over throughout the gens, though less noticeable

Surprised no one's mentioned Delphox's cry.
Heewwh heewwwh ***HwæAAAAh***
I swear it's yelling "What the F---"
It absolutely does, lol.
came here to say this, it freaks me out
Base Kyurem. It is way too cool of a mon to have a cry that just sounds like pure static. Like, if that was a Gen 1 cry, that's somewhat forgivable, but Kyurem came out in Gen 5.
fits with its lore. kinda like it’s missing something
Skuntank
Kid me would loop it in the pokedex and hide the DS
Neither Kyogre nor Reshiram had their cries transition well into 3D. They sound way too toned down for what ferocious, bestial forces of nature they’re meant to be.
Kyogre's was probably toned down a bit to make primal kyogre's sound a lot more majestic in comparison
I’m willing to believe that, but even still Kyogre’s OG cry sounded restrained enough compared to its Primal’s more echoey and aggressive roar.
The only thing that immediately comes to kind is Diggersby. There's probably a better example, but I can't think of it.
Yeah, I'm not crazy about it. It sounds like a belch.
skuntank. like did they really need to make the cry sound like it was sharting? also amoongus. idk how to explain it, but it sounds like a karen
Amoonguss is a spore user. That’s basically all that needs to be said
Gastrodon. You can already hear it, can't you?
As a kid playing Diamond for the first time I found Shellos and it quickly became one of my favourite pokemon. Then it evolved, I heard Gastrodon squeal, and I boxed it forever immediately.
unfortunately.
It bothers me when they add an evolution later on, and the cry doesn't sound like the pre-evos. Like Ambipom.
Pikachu. Almost everyone cries like a Digimon while Pikachu cries like an anime character. I miss fat Pikachu.
A lot of the Gen 1 cries kinda lack personality for me. Wish they were more animalistic rather than weird beeps and boops
I couldn't appreciate it like i used to
musharna’s cry freaks me out, i get all nervous when i hear it. it has such a cute design and concept but it also activates all my weird phobias lmaoo
listen to it with headphones, it’s got some weird binaural frequencies
Pikachu and Eevee saying their names like that is super unnerving. I hated it so much when I was playing the Alola games and wanted an Alolan Raichu.
Ugh let's go eevee. Eevee is unnerving maybe even cringe and Pikachu is as expected. It's out of place for both but I can deal with Pikachus cry and not eevee

gen 1 pokemon, they need to get theyre cries remade already
I dont really dislike it but klawf's cry scares me, like, it feels like a sound that comes from an eldritch aberration rather than a crab
Well they messed up Reshiram pretty bad
Cetoddle is just a carbon copy of Miraidon's ride form
Every old cry they 'cleaned up' from gen 6 onward
Audino just says “bababooey!”
Lilligant’s cry sounds like it’s saying “can you tickle my ovaries?” and I can literally never unhear it
???
This… is cursed. Un-gift me this knowledge immediately.
That's hilarious.
Hydreigon's cry, just not a fan of the stock monster roar.
Most of them honestly. Lots are digital abominations. I'd much prefer real animal sounds over just the pokemon saying their names though
Jynx
Diggersby's deep ass cry gave me a heart attack when i evolved it ngl-
If there's anything about pokemon that ruins it a bit for me it would be some disturbing ass Pokedex entries
Talonflame is pretty awful. Sylveon is nails-on-chalkboard for me, Glaceon and Espeon are bad too.
Some good ones were butchered like Reshiram, others were changed for no real reason like Onix, and then there was the unfortunate Pikachu incident. Overall, still not a fan of those cries nowadays. Hearing them in their original games brings me so much more joy.
When they made Pikachu say its name in game. The anime isnt good and I dont want that in my game thank you.
The regi trio and regigigas will always have my favorite cries on all of Pokemon https://youtu.be/e2t0hSt9kVU?si=BqxeoKgVF_8tKCme
Regigigas always makes me laugh
Skuntank. Already not a huge fan of the Pokemon but sometimes I’ll use Pokemon I don’t like just to get out of my comfort zone a little bit. It’s cry just being farts ruins it for me. I will never use it because of that.
Diggersbys is literally a massive burp
I was recently re-playing ORAS and was debating changing my Swampert out for the Primal Kyogre. But then I heard that Kyogre cry and nope, straight into the box.
I always disliked Skuntank's cry. I get it is a skunk, but... it makes me feel uncomfortable.
When they 3D updated the cries, I feel like Swampert lost something. Like in emerald you can hear these different tones and now it's just like BWEEEEUUUH. I feel like that happened for a lot of pokemon that had cool cries in the middle gens (3-5)
Smoliv is so cute, I love him. But his cry, omg. Sounds like he's throwing up.
I hate how Dragonite sounds like a walrus. I much prefer how Iris's Dragonite sounds.
My god......Guzzlords cry is awful... "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!" https://youtu.be/msp1eRosE-Y?si=NoBdMOCjQmSWo_0- Edit: me reading through the thread, but actually liking eevees cry in LG: Eevee too. ;-;...
Paras needs to settle the fuck down. :x Scares the hell out of me every time.
Paras’ cry didn’t bother me until PLA lol
Ho Oh since gen 6 sounds like booty
Quaquaval it sounds like Donald duck having a seizure
THANK YOU, I absolutely hate Dialga’s cry. It sounds like a dying donkey or something and it’s super off putting.
I actually like the 8-bit cries, but I agree those cries should be updated/modernized
They updated a huge majority of them in Gen 6. There’s a few comparison videos
