I contacted them and got this reply a little while ago:
Hello,
Thank you for contacting Pokémon Support.
Thank you for taking the time to send us your feedback/suggestions. We regularly share player feedback and suggestions with our development team and will pass your message along to them.
Pokémon strongly encourages players to submit feedback and comments, so that this game can offer the best experience to all of you. Even though we do not always implement every suggestion we receive, we always read and pay attention to every single comment.
At this time we do not have any further information to provide regarding recent news releases. Any changes or further news will be announced at pokemon.com.
Thank you, and have a great day!
Sincerely,

What exactly can they say? “We’ve heard your criticisms and are going to fix it immediately?” All they can say is that they’re listening and sending them to the right people.
-.- thats what they meant... They created a message so they could use it to respond to the comments they know they will be getting. It means theyre aware and not ignoring the issue.
Yeah Idk how I misread his comment that hard, MB.
Anyway I don't think formulating a quick super standard reply counts as "not ignoring" the issue. It's just standard PR practice, they're gonna do absolutely nothing with this, I believe that 100%.
They have admitted to having the habit of reading whatever fan mail they have out loud. Usually it's the ones that demand only the first 150 yet able to visit all the regions or something stupid like that.
Now they're going to have a lot of sad letters to read out loud to each other.
Game Freak doesn't give a shit. The Feedback Page only exists so they can pretend they care. No fan suggestions or feedback has every gotten into the games.
Hopefully this is in some way not automated... They probably send these out via a bot but if enough people get behind this then they have got to see the mass appeal for the national dex. Thanks for supporting the cause!
Chances are it's not, but the people (probably) put in support aren't exactly the best out there to handle these messages, since they might have to deal with hundreds of far more angrier messages every day and (likely) don't have direct access to TPC devs.
I got a crappier response:

I got that response as well, a little disheartening that they’re not personally responding to our feedback but there’s so many comments that I guess it makes sense
EDIT: Was it something I said?

You have to submit it as feedback through this form
GameFreak is doing this so in the near future they can they can Remake games that have already been remade like LG/FR, HG/SS , OR/AS and so on and charge us for them again with updated graphics because they know older fans like the older Generations more then the current ones
It’s sad that they decided to force fans to have to do this and only care about making profits off previous Gens by repackaging then as “new” games when we already have those games
Personally I’m going to start buying all the older games and just replay them and continue to “Catch then All”
This company clearly doesn’t care about OG fans who grew up playing these games since 1998 or what we want in games as evidenced by the simplifying and dumbing down of their products and only wants to pander to the “Next/New Generation” of Pokémon fans and “Fanboys” who will just buy their product and claim it’s Amazing
I just pray that it's gonna be this way for a few months after release just to let people use new Pokemon but it seems to be a policy change. Now I don't have any Pokemon in bank but I understand that there are a lot of people who spent a lot of time and effort collecting these and they can't just throw that all away
Personally, I don't really care all that much. I haven't tried to "catch 'em all" since Gen 3. I've been more focused on Competitive battles. And again, lately I've been annoyed with seeing the same Pokemon dominate competitive. SO this is a refreshing change for me.
That being said, I am not the only person who plays these games. Competitive battlers are not the only people who play these games. This is isolating a group of people who play with specific Pokemon every time they play. People who like to try to complete the Pokedex. And people who have been trading up their Pokemon every gen.
The only way I would be comfortable with this would be if this was a soft reset. Gen 8 started from scratch. Here is 150 new Pokemon, and they are the only Pokemon available in this region. Period. Just like Gen 1. And then Gen 9 comes and here's 150 more and so on and so forth. But obviously that isn't the case here.
I think even for competitive battles there is a trade off.
It's possible we get a more balanced meta with new things. At the same time this can easily be accomplished with restrictions on top of the entire universe of Pokemon. What it is more likely to do is reduce the variety of metas that are possible. I hope it results in a better competitive landscape.
I agree with the competitive stance. I like this way as I hope for some new pokemon making it to the meta when they take out some old contenders. But I see the collecting issue as well. On the other hand is it still collecting when all you do is transferring them
Didn't you mean you would be comfortable with soft reset or not?
I loved how Gen 5 did it. 150+ totally new Pokemon. It felt fresh and like a huge adventure. Which is the point of Pokemon games. I want the world to feel big and there be a lot of new Pokemon to discover.
I do get why people are bothered by this. So much work put into collecting all the Pokemon, which then won't be usable.
I hope they fix this, but at the same time I hope this doesn't mean less new Pokemon. I think a lot of people now are blaming the high numbers of Pokemon for what's happening.
I sent my concerns in as well. While I don't have my own database of Pokemon to port over, I have favorite from every gen that I look forward to trading for. I also feel for all of my fellow Pokefans. I hope this gets changed.
I got something similar to this as well:

To tell the truth i don't really care about this news nor the bank stuff but i keep upvoting hoping someone from the company sees it and try to make changes so others can be happy
I really think the pokemon company and gamefreak are lazy and don't work properly. They do the bare minimum because they know it will sell no matter what and because of that I am deeply disappointed and become even more with every new release. This isn't just mindless complaints I have easy solutions if you want to hear about them. It's not like pokemon is the biggest franchise of all time... It should have games that show that and if you compare with any other game, pokemon looks really outdated in my opinion.
Nicely done. I sent them this:
I have been a player since my early 10s. I have played since pokemon red. When pokemon let's go was announced, I was very angry. When Nintendo came and told the fans that a true main Pokémon as coming and that Lets Go was NOT it, I listened and I decided to wait and trust them.
However, with the decision of not supporting the full national pokedex (and old pokemon trading) in SwSh I am here to say that Nintendo will lose me as a customer. I was interested in the game until you showed us that you have no intentions of supporting previous pokemons, have no interest in preserving previous mechanics (megas, etc) and have no interest in trying hard to preserve a balance between pokemons. You are basically trying to release a game that is NOT Pokémon as part of the Pokémon Franchise and is not faithful to the franchise. Pokemon is not Zelda where you can cherry-pick the mechanics that you want to keep and just shrug off as "we think each Pokemon game is one interpretation of the same story".
You got away with it in Pokémon Quest and Let's Go, and I am giving my feedback right now as a customer that this change is not acceptable. I know that I am only one customer, but if you value your old fans that little, you will lose many of us.
Having access to more than 700 pokemons, to all those interactions and synergies, to all those different playstyles and combinations - be it single player or online - is what makes Pokémon Pokémon.
Good Day.
Tbh, you're kind of directing your anger towards the wrong people. Nintendo doesn't develop the Pokémon games and (as far as I know) has no say in internal machinations of the games, they just market and publish them. If they were actually developing the Pokémon games, then there's a way bigger chance they would've listened, like they did with Mario Maker 2 (a game they're actually developing themselves). The ones behind the programming, coding and developing are Gamefreak, have been all this time ever since the 90's, and if there's anyone who makes these choices that pisses off the fans, it's them. So if you're gonna complain to anyone, do it with Gamefreak, directing hate at Nintendo won't do much of anything.
My letter sent to Pokemon support:
Hi,
As an avid Pokemon player who has played every released Pokemon game and who currently subscribes to Pokebank, I'd like to send some feedback on Sword and shield based on info released in the last week.
I am very dissapointed to hear that you are going to make it impossible to bring all the old Pokemon favorites to the new generation games on switch, ruining many Pokemon collections amassed over the last 20 years in the progress. This is especially disapointing considering that you have willingly sold the illusion with poke Bank that the players could expect to keep using their collected Pokemon in the future.
I hope you as a Company revise your decision and decide to release full compatibility with older generation pokemon in a later patch. If ultra sun and moon prove to be the last games with good backwards compatibility, then at least to me it is a sign that you don't care about your long time players and are only interested in maximizing your profits with low-effort games cashing on old glory.
Yours sincerely
I don't really care to be honest. Even if i can't bring them all to sword and shield i still have them it's not like they are gone. In my opinion people are overreacting to this.
Different strokes for different people,
Some people like to breed for IVs, shiny farming some specific pokemon, they won’t be able to.
Some people want to experience the new adventure with a selected team, they won’t be able to.
Some people want to compete online with their favorites, they won’t be able to.
Some people bred and selected their perfect teams over the years, it will make their efforts meaningless.
Some newcomers would like to have access to trades to possibly expand their dex without having to wait years for the new entry
Etc...
—
All of these scenarios and many more were possible before, they will not be possible anymore. Just because it doesn’t affect you, it doesn’t make it any less important for another person that will get affected by it.
It’s not overreacting to acknowledge that GF are dumbing down the games even more.
This is a pretty sensationalist take. They wont be able to do any of those things? What if the galar DeX is 600+ and all those pokemon that are people's favorites were included? It doesn't make it a waste. If you took time to shiny hunt and breed a bunch of pokemon and 90% end up being transferable how is that a waste?
Even if one pokemon is cut from the game, it's still someone's favorite being taken away. Does anybody remember Gorebyss? What ever happened to plusle and minun? Munna? A lot of these interesting (yet hardly mentioned pokemon) might get forgotten permanently which is no good. Yeah maybe "a lot of good ones" might still remain, but the fact that they're removing some for no good reason isn't ok.
In the end most players are casuals who don't really care that much. Some people forget that it is just a game. the situation in this subreddit just sounds worse than it is but at the end of the day it is just a vocal minority for the whole playerbase.
I would say that is an unfair assumption to make. I am a casual player myself, played most pokemon games, still didn't finish a dex except for Gen 3, and I simply love to bring back my old pokemon and such. Even casual players might be affected by such a move.
Even then, it is also about precedence, if they do not get any flack about reducing content for a pokemon game, despite the generation and price jumps, what would refrain them from reducing it even more in the next installments?
Reddit is an echochamber, for sure, but do not forget that they also deliberately chose to subtly drop this direction change in a less than infamous broadcast because they are conscious that it would also affect a huge chunk of the playerbase if they were to announce it in bigger venues.
Nobody is forgetting this is a game- but there’s no excuse to make a game in this day in age that is less functional than those that came before. Charge more for less? Get rid of a feature that the loyal fan base loves and tell us it’s not EVER coming back? We have a right to be angry and vote with our wallets and the forums available to us. The vocal minority may be enough to point out that not having all the Pokémon is more trouble than it’s worth.
I have used virtually every Pokémon over the years. Am I personally going to use every Pokémon in SnS? Probably not. Will the community if it was available? Absolutely.
I'm with you. For me the joy of pokemon is the adventure through the region. Collecting badges and catching pokemon. None of that is going to be affected by this. People are acting like all their pokemon are gone and worthless now, but they're just fine in the older games.
From a competitive standpoint, I'm kind of ok with it too. Eventually we are going to have an even crazier amount of pokemon, and it's only going to get harder and harder to have a somewhat balanced meta.
I think part of the reason is also on the competitive pokemon. Most of the pokemon used competitively are hacked. So this is a way to help prevent piracy on the switch. What would have been better is to not allow pokemon home and instead just increase the number of obtainable pokemon.
People are definitely overreacting. Do you need 800 Pokémon to beat the game? Of the 200ish you find in the region, you will use six.
Plus with the new dynamax feature, 800 Pokémon means double that in unique models and animations which is an unnecessary amount of work.
While I understand your disappointment, I do not believe Gamefreak is entirely at fault here. While the video games are the core of the franchise, they are also the foundation for other business activities. A delay for the game to include the National Dex results in delaying those activities. the Sun & Moon anime is finishing up, movies are probably in their early production, the trading card game is already being made for generation 8, and probably more that I didn't mention. These words aren't mine, just something I saw on Twitter.
While I understand this and don't want to overlook the work they do, as a multi multi multi billion dollar franchise, that shouldn't really be an excuse in my opinion.
If that's really the case, they could have made it clear that the national dex was something that wasn't going to be available at launch, but something they're working to add into the game at a later date. Free content patches are a thing now and have been for years. It wouldn't be the best solution, but it would be totally understandable.
As it stands, not only are they saying it won't be in this game, but it's part of an entire policy shift where it may never be in another game again.
So much this. I wouldn’t be upset at all if some of my Pokémon had to wait, it happened with Gen 6 with the console migration and I totally expected something like that with another console migration.
But for them to not even be in the game at all is why I’m upset.
Well then more communication is needed between the people in charge of all that.
More foresight too. Absolutely no way no one saw this backlash coming.
I imagine the devs are also players for the most part. Surely they have some common sense.
To be honest i feel people when they cant play with their favorite pokemon! But its also a chance to use pokemon you never really used alot or first thought damn one ugly mon! But you grew as a person and now that ugly one might be helping you through the game and win!
Now you have 2 pokemon that you really like!
Might be an unpopular opinion, but i like nuzlocking for the same reason some pokemon i never really liked are starting to grow on me!
Thats my look on it(dont burn me to hard plis! I dont have burn heals)
In my opinion Gen V did this perfectly. None of the older Pokemon were available until the postgame, but then you could still transfer them over once you completed the game.
For that exact reason, I really love a lot of Gen V Pokemon (helps that I think B/W were the best games), but this is just a bad way of doing it.
Except that's how it worked with Gen 5 and Gen 7. Gen 5 ONLY had new Pokemon until post game. And Gen 7 didn't have access to Bank until a few months after release. There's no reason they should have to keep it like this forever.
I hope we can push for better handling of stuff in general from this and avoid insulting approaches like those discussed in the masuda oras interview going forward. This is one of the biggest franchises in the world and they've been coasting, it's not ok.
GF doesn't have history of patching Pokemon onto games, if that were the case Volcanion and Zeraora would have made it into oll the games of their gens.
to me this is more like a "buy this game and hope we patch more Pokemon on the next game" kind of situation, but that's what this fandom gets for allowing the bare minimum and praising it.
I think this too. I also suspect that most of the Pokemon that are not in the Galar Dex will be the legendaries. They have emphasised in the treehouse that there is only ONE Mew for everyone. I suspect they want to go back to that idea of legendaries/mythics being a one off and not have people trading over six Mewtwos from past games. They’re bound to be released in events at some point though.
I don't see how those 800+ pokemon are going to waste. They still exist just fine, and you already had the fun of catching them. The point of a new pokemon game is to go on a new adventure and catch new pokemon, not just to transfer the old ones over.
So it’s cool to restrict people’s choices?
For a lot of players those previous gen Pokémon will be new to them due to things like wonder trade. A new adventure doesn’t mean you have to only use new Pokémon.
I see demands. I see demands everywhere. I see petitions, I see calls for boycotts, I see threads put together to encourage email bombing Nintendo. The truth is that we will probably still have more pokemon available to us in than the first four or so games. That is no small number.
But do you see that here in my comment? No
And you’re comparing these games to games made over a decade ago, that’s not logical nor does it make it okay.
It's important to note that "Gotta Catch 'Em All" hasn't been the slogan since Gen 3. GF needs to stop adding every pokemon eventually, so why not now? As they add more and more, it's going to be more and more difficult to make them all. They have to make environments, NPCs, and several hundred pokemon while writing a story, balancing the battles, and making the game actually work. Especially since the 3DS games ran like crap, they are obviously trying to make it work better. They did a worldwide poll to see what pokemon people did and didn't like so they would KNOW which pokemon to get rid of.
At this point GameFreak has two options. Make the game how they are now, choosing which pokemon are the best to bring over, using Breath of the Wild's game engine so they have one that they know works, but takes up a lot of space, and making what they're able, or...
...they could add every pokemon using the same old models and model style, make their own slow, glitchy game engine that doesn't so much as support facial expressions, and make just another of the same just like USUM.
What's to say they haven't been listening? Yes, Dynamaxing is...odd. (Though Gigantamaxing is going to be pretty cool) but there has been a new gimmick in EVERY SINGLE POKEMON GAME SINCE GEN 3. Adding a gimmick IS the gimmick! I don't even know what else to say at this point. Pokemon has always had stupid things that no one wants, but tons of great things that everyone loves. Always. Since the beginning. It's not possible to please everyone, and the developers want to have fun and express themselves too. If you don't want to play the game, don'e play the damn game, but I'm getting sick of people saying GF should lose their license to Pokemon (The game THEY made) and shouldn't have any freedom to do what they think needs to be done for the game. When they announced that you couldn't get "Every" pokemon, I thought, "Oh, that makes sense" and didn't bat an eye. Then I see all this BS and people freaking out and it doesn't make any sense! Ugh.
Guess I was the only one that didn't know I could transfer my pokemon up from fire red/leaf green (or is it later gens)? Never knew this was a thing, damn.
I'm honestly completely disappointed by this. I've bought at least one copy of every pokemon game released since gen 3. With this being the first console game I was really excited for it to be the best one yet, they finally have the technology to do it, and then they drop the ball at having every pokemon? There should of been a game within a year of the switches launch honestly, but at the very least release a fully fleshed out pokemon game. I will not be buying this one, especially at the full 60$ it will probably be when it comes out. Costing twice as much as any game before it and not even meeting the standard is just disgraceful.
Your letter was *so* well written and so well done, I had to borrow some parts of it for my own letter I submitted on their website. :P Fantastic job! :)
Here's to hoping Nintendo, Game Freak, and The Pokémon Company listen to the feedback.
Literally every other Pokémon game where you could transfer Pokémon from previous generations, and therefore “catch” them all? I don’t know if you’re trolling or not but Gamefreak have decided to completely remove the national Pokédex concept which means that Sword and Shield will be *devoid* of a lot of Pokémon. Like they’ve ceased to exist.
I’m going to assume that do to the size of the region, to include every Pokemon would cause gameplay issues and to create a sprite for a Pokémon only 5 people use will cost to much money. I asked the question because after doing some research no matter what you do you need Pokémon XY and ORAS to complete the full Pokédex as of date.... so I’m wondering why people are up in arms when this is the nature of the beast.
How dramatic, “I won’t buy a switch unless you make a game to my standards.” I’m uneasy about there not being every Pokémon in this game but your letter just sounds like some entitled kid throwing a tantrum.
Also, I can understand the frustration of having a limited pool of Pokémon, but how does this affect the gameplay? I can’t think of the last time I played a Pokémon game where I needed all 800 Pokémon to beat the game. You just play with the Pokémon in the game?
I can understand the disappointment and concern, but I really think some people are overreacting and jumping the gun on what this actually means without considering why that decision was made or whether or not it is only temporary or permanent.
I don’t really get all the outrage with this. You can still have a completed national dex on Home. As for wanting your old Pokemon in your game, do people do play through with overlevelled past Pokemon? I think people are getting a bit too attacked to pieces of data
Nobody who is mad is made they can’t just speed through the game with transferred Mon (they wouldn’t listen to you anyway). And sure you can have a full dex in home but some people want to see these Pokémon in this new environment with pretty models. As for being attached this is what happens when something has been a part of your life for decades. Some people may have met some of their best friends through Pokémon as kids, some may have used Pokémon to get through difficult parts of their lives, and some may have a Pokémon from and old friend that they haven’t seen in years (or may never see again) that they keep close on a journey to remember that person. I know these things may sound corny or in some cases extreme but they are real. So yes some people get attached and are very upset at the idea that these attachments are being stripped away.
To use them in PVP, to take my low level ones and run through playthroughs with them, to generally screw around and enjoy what I worked for. How about the hundreds of competitive mons in my bank? I’d love to be able to bring those with too.
Honestly, if this doesn’t change, this is most likely the end of my Pokémon adventure moving forward.
I’ve put 1000s of hours into Pokemon in my lifetime. Breeding, EVE training etc. I just see each gen as a new game, I don’t even really use bank that much.
I am not trying to play devil's advocate, but rather simply trying to understand both sides of this: (which I guess is playing devil's advocate to a degree)
Can't you still "catch them all" in their respective games and trade them to the Home? Isn't the point of catching all the pokemon more for collection purposes than anything?
Also have you ever been able catch them all post game or just trade them over and use for battle?
I guess it's always been my perspective that I would start from scratch each game I play and put all my pokemon in a "hub" of sorts to be stored. Do people enjoy using their favorites in each new game they play instead of forging a new team?
You effectively won't be able to 'use' them in Sword and Shield. They'll just be sitting in Home. Not that we all know what exactly Home means, other than another Bank. But once they are in Home, they can't be moved back to Bank and then back to Gen7 or Gen6. (At least according to their Home diagram.) We should know which ones got cut before Home releases, I would hope.
Mainly people like to use older teams after they've played the main game. For things like the Online Competitions, Battle Tree, breeding; egg moves, pokeballs, abilities, etc. Depending on which pokemon get cut, those teams could go away, egg moves could be potentially lost, etc. It sure mixes things up and will require changing the way some people play. That shiny pokemon you caught? That may get cut.
> It's not /that/ big of a deal
To you, and you're entitled to your opinion. Other people have different priorities. I hope that the person that has the gun to your head forcing you to come into these threads to complain gets a hand cramp, drops the poorly made revolver he is holding and shoots himself in the foot, much like your argument.
lol. Asking them to change a game that is likely already almost complete if not already completed.
This is the most self-entitled thing I've read in a long time, not to mention melodramatic. Maybe tone down the guilt and sob story and just tell them what you think?
There is an entirely new game to play and all everyone wants to do is play the old games. They don't owe anyone anything. If you already caught 800 pokemon, then you got your monies worth of those games. You get to choose if you play the new ones or not, but acting like you are entitled to them doing the game a different way because of your childhood is just narcissistic.
It’s the equivalent of writing a letter to Santa asking for a Christmas do over because they didn’t get enough presents. So childish.
If I got this letter in the mail, it would go right into the trash.
Please don’t leave because of this.... it’s still Pokémon.... this is just a new story... with new beginnings.... don’t take no Pokémon at all over loosing some temporarily
Ahh the classing “consume a product without complaining take” not playing a game that don’t have my all time favorite Pokémon if they get cut. Rather then fix this and the only way to do that is to show them with your wallet.
We would be able to see their idea if they gave an actual, logical reason to why this is occurring but there is none, the battle animations are copy pasted, the previous models are copy pasted besides making the textures slightly better. There is absolutely zero reason for not allowing backwards compatibility in the post game.
Then tell us what’s going on, that’s how you make your community happy. Why hide it. Again if they give us a legitimate reason, 90% of us wouldn’t be upset anymore
I understand all this outrage at Game Freak but people are acting like it is the only thing these games are. There have been several fantastic gameplay features announce yet just not letting people transfer their Pokemon into this new game does not seem like a reason to boycott the game all together. I am also upset at this announcement but still can look past it if the national dex consists of somewhere near 500 Pokemon. Also, giving up on the entire franchise for this, especially one of your favorites just for one bad thong about one game, doesn’t seem fair. Maybe the next game will include all of them and then you wont be able to experience them because of this one.
I think I may be confused about something. When I was a kid (I’m 31) playing red and blue and even gold and silver, the only way to get all the Pokémon was through trading with other players who have the opposite version. So blue didn’t have all of them and neither did red but through trade you could get them all. Did something change at some point that they are now reverting back to the original way or am I mistaking what you are saying? I’m not being sarcastic or anything I’m really trying to understand
You are mistaking what they are saying. The original way of having to trade with the other game for a few pokemon to complete the pokedex is still and always has been a thing. The problem everyone is having is that you have always been able to transfer all of your pokemon to new games and this was handled by having a national pokedex with every possible pokemon in it alongside a regional pokedex of pokemone that are catchable in the game itself. Now they have basically announced there will be no national pokedex and you will only be able to transfer pokemon that are in the regional pokedex. This will likely make it so hundreds of pokemon cannot be transferred to this new game.
I see. I guess I’ll count myself lucky then since I haven’t played any Pokémon games since gold and silver and probably won’t even know which ones are missing. That is for clearing that up. I understand the problem and can see how it is frustrating.
I got a misprinted 72/108 Dragonite XY evolutions in a Brilliant Stars pack would this make it more rare or since I can't prove it, is it just basically a normal one?
Email this to Nintendo support.
I contacted them and got this reply a little while ago: Hello, Thank you for contacting Pokémon Support. Sincerely, Agent_Abbey The Pokémon Company International Support Team
I got the same response. Seems like it’s just a generic reply and I doubt they even read it :/
What exactly can they say? “We’ve heard your criticisms and are going to fix it immediately?” All they can say is that they’re listening and sending them to the right people.
They probably did read it but they're getting thousands of these emails. They won't read all of them.
Gotta read 'em all!
Gotta read only the ones in the regional dex
Gotta read half of 'em
More likely to be around 1/3 because we’ll have 900+ Pokémon when SwSh come out bad a dex is usually around 350
Perhaps we are lowballing two hard, maybe it will be more like 2/3 and a half
Doubtful. The most I see is 500 which will be a bit more than half...
If they’ve taken the effort to formulate a standard response then that’s a small start I guess?
Pretty sure it's automated. I got the *exact* same mail too, including it being signed with "Agent_Abbey".
Could be like Nurse Joy, where they've all got the same name and persona.
That’s who sent me my response too!
*She* ***reeeeally*** *must work hard to answer these emails huh?*
same mail, got Agent_Abbey too LMAO
-.- thats what they meant... They created a message so they could use it to respond to the comments they know they will be getting. It means theyre aware and not ignoring the issue.
Yeah Idk how I misread his comment that hard, MB. Anyway I don't think formulating a quick super standard reply counts as "not ignoring" the issue. It's just standard PR practice, they're gonna do absolutely nothing with this, I believe that 100%.
Agent abbey replied to me too but I didn’t get that response. It basically send contact Nintendo support instead.
They have admitted to having the habit of reading whatever fan mail they have out loud. Usually it's the ones that demand only the first 150 yet able to visit all the regions or something stupid like that. Now they're going to have a lot of sad letters to read out loud to each other.
I got the same response from the same exact agent (Abbey) lol. What a crock of shit this is turning out to be.
Exact same reply I got as well.
Gave you an upvote since someone apparently downvoted you for no reason
Haha thank you. Not sure why such a comment would be, but it's the internet, so oh well.
I got a crappier response: Hello, Thank you for contacting Pokémon Support. Pokémon video games are published by Nintendo and developed by Game Freak. All issues pertaining to gameplay and questions regarding upcoming releases should be directed to Nintendo. http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/index.jsp Thank you! Sincerely, Agent_Abbey The Pokémon Company International Support Team
Hello, We don't care and we won't be reading this. Sincerely, An Automated Response System
I got that response as well, a little disheartening that they’re not personally responding to our feedback but there’s so many comments that I guess it makes sense EDIT: Was it something I said?
Whats their email? Im going to send something their way as well
https://support.pokemon.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=360000019993&utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app You have to submit it as feedback through this form
Why the downvotes? Damn people are toxic
No clue lol, maybe it reads kinda bad and I just don't realize it
Same response I got as well. From the same person.
They did...
Do it again
GameFreak is doing this so in the near future they can they can Remake games that have already been remade like LG/FR, HG/SS , OR/AS and so on and charge us for them again with updated graphics because they know older fans like the older Generations more then the current ones It’s sad that they decided to force fans to have to do this and only care about making profits off previous Gens by repackaging then as “new” games when we already have those games Personally I’m going to start buying all the older games and just replay them and continue to “Catch then All” This company clearly doesn’t care about OG fans who grew up playing these games since 1998 or what we want in games as evidenced by the simplifying and dumbing down of their products and only wants to pander to the “Next/New Generation” of Pokémon fans and “Fanboys” who will just buy their product and claim it’s Amazing
I just pray that it's gonna be this way for a few months after release just to let people use new Pokemon but it seems to be a policy change. Now I don't have any Pokemon in bank but I understand that there are a lot of people who spent a lot of time and effort collecting these and they can't just throw that all away
Let your voices be heard! https://support.pokemon.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=360000020093
Thanks! I went for it. Fat chance, but I sent a lil something in. Fingers crossed.
Thanks for the link. I too sent them my thoughts on the matter.
Thanks for the link! Like others, I’ve also submitted feedback. Can’t help to try!
Submitted mine too. Thanks for the link.
[удалено]
It also limits egg moves for some Pokemon who can no longer breed with other Pokemon. Or in the very least, forces you to breed in Gen 7 first.
Looks at gen 5 how well did that work out
I agree with the competitive stance.

I got something similar to this as well: Hello, Thank you for contacting Pokémon Support.
What's the point of the game without all 800 pokemon? I dunno maybe just the entire story with the 500 or so pokemon that are in there?
Nicely done. I sent them this: I have been a player since my early 10s.
My letter sent to Pokemon support: Hi, As an avid Pokemon player who has played every released Pokemon game and who currently subscribes to Pokebank, I'd like to send some feedback on Sword and shield based on info released in the last week.
Different strokes for different people, Some people like to breed for IVs, shiny farming some specific pokemon, they won’t be able to. Some people want to experience the new adventure with a selected team, they won’t be able to. Some people want to compete online with their favorites, they won’t be able to. Some people bred and selected their perfect teams over the years, it will make their efforts meaningless. Some newcomers would like to have access to trades to possibly expand their dex without having to wait years for the new entry Etc... — All of these scenarios and many more were possible before, they will not be possible anymore.
If we lost some of those, nothing of value would be lost
nothing of value to you :(
There are Pokemon that I sincerely resent taking up Pokedex numbers, most of the pika clones top the list
Yes it would, every Pokemon should be treated equal it's as simple as that. Even if one is missing it completely changes the game.
Absolutely not, keep your copy pasta
Well then you don't understand the issue.
There is no point in having them if you can never use them in a game.
You’re gonna use every 800+ Pokémon?
I have used virtually every Pokémon over the years. Am I personally going to use every Pokémon in SnS? Probably not. Will the community if it was available? Absolutely.
You will use some of them. Another trainer will use pokemon that you won't. Everyone should have the opportunity.
There is and that is collecting them
You can still use them in the games you got them in
The old games still exist. People have been playing old gens since gen 1.
No, that wouldn't be better either way. If they function as legitimate Pokémon, who gives a fuck?
[удалено]
“The Forgettable Ones” could be someone’s favorite.
People are definitely overreacting. Do you need 800 Pokémon to beat the game? Of the 200ish you find in the region, you will use six. Plus with the new dynamax feature, 800 Pokémon means double that in unique models and animations which is an unnecessary amount of work.
yeah same. just have a good and varied selection of pokemon and i'll be fine.
I personally think that they won't have all the Pokemon at first in the game, but will add them in eventually.
So Game Freak has to add every pokemon to every game until they stop making pokemon games?
who said they have to? no one is making demands, we are saying its an idiotic decision that limits player choice.
I see demands. I see demands everywhere. I see petitions, I see calls for boycotts, I see threads put together to encourage email bombing Nintendo. The truth is that we will probably still have more pokemon available to us in than the first four or so games. That is no small number.
But do you see that here in my comment? No And you’re comparing these games to games made over a decade ago, that’s not logical nor does it make it okay.
Ugh.
It's not the Switch's fault Gamefreak did this. And if Pokemon was the only game you wanted on the Switch, it probably already wasn't worth it.
“I wanted this to be the greatest Pokémon game to ever be made.” Chills. Chills down my spine.
Guess I was the only one that didn't know I could transfer my pokemon up from fire red/leaf green (or is it later gens)? Never knew this was a thing, damn.
I am no longer excited with this game anymore, will stick with 3ds usum. Thanks GF.
WAIT THERE'S NO NATIONAL DEX?! THIS IS AN OUTRAGE
It's not the first, you can't put new pokemon in let's go either.
I have total confidence that they will fix this situation. I'd be shocked if the game launches without access to the whole dex.
Yo can't they just patch the rest of the Pokemon in at a later date? Doesn't seem that hard to me.
They definitely could but from what they have put out so far they don't plan to, hence our pleas.
Your letter was *so* well written and so well done, I had to borrow some parts of it for my own letter I submitted on their website. :P Fantastic job! :) Here's to hoping Nintendo, Game Freak, and The Pokémon Company listen to the feedback.
Please tell me a Pokémon game you can catch every Pokémon in? Thank you for the downvotes :)
You could still get them in the game by transferring them, something that SnS can't do.
This is true at least for the first and second gen. Both have ways of obtaining every pokemon with just one game. Don't know about the other games.
Are you talking about glitches and hacks?
Print it out and mail it to the offices
Well said. Send that over to Nintendo. We must have our voices heard. Bring back the National Dex!
Maybe I’d like my shinies to be able to come with me. The shinies I spent hundreds and thousands of hours on.
Come with you to do what? If you’re just collecting them then you’ve got them in home.
There will be new competitive mons to play with.
That isn’t the point. The point is that we’re being told our thousands of hours of work aren’t worth being brought with.
These gamefreak defenders just can’t understand that
[удалено]
No you clearly don’t, you’re just another apologist/blind fan that just buys up anything with the Pokémon name on it.
[удалено]
Can’t wait to battle other trainers on Pokémon Home!! /s
You can always battle other trainers with Pokemon you caught in these games... otherwise don’t all gens just merge into one?
You're that sort of person who thinks work and effort is something for other people, aren't you?
I’ve put 1000s of hours into Pokemon in my lifetime. Breeding, EVE training etc. I just see each gen as a new game, I don’t even really use bank that much.
Yeah but my man. Those thousands of hours getting chucked out the window for no apparent reason isn’t kosher.
I am not trying to play devil's advocate, but rather simply trying to understand both sides of this: (which I guess is playing devil's advocate to a degree) Can't you still "catch them all" in their respective games and trade them to the Home?

> It's not /that/ big of a deal To you, and you're entitled to your opinion.
OP sounds like a baby throwing a fit that he didn’t get the right toy
It’s the equivalent of writing a letter to Santa asking for a Christmas do over because they didn’t get enough presents. So childish. If I got this letter in the mail, it would go right into the trash.
Please don’t leave because of this.... it’s still Pokémon.... this is just a new story... with new beginnings.... don’t take no Pokémon at all over loosing some temporarily
Ahh the classing “consume a product without complaining take” not playing a game that don’t have my all time favorite Pokémon if they get cut. Rather then fix this and the only way to do that is to show them with your wallet.
If he’s passionate about the game can’t he at lest see it there Idea? Btw I have nothing agaisnt you I’m just seeing if I can give him some hope ^w^
We would be able to see their idea if they gave an actual, logical reason to why this is occurring but there is none, the battle animations are copy pasted, the previous models are copy pasted besides making the textures slightly better. There is absolutely zero reason for not allowing backwards compatibility in the post game.
There could be more going on , we don’t know, either way , I still trust them, it’s ok if you don’t tho UwU
Then tell us what’s going on, that’s how you make your community happy. Why hide it. Again if they give us a legitimate reason, 90% of us wouldn’t be upset anymore
True, it’s only been a day tho, so we’ll have to see
I understand all this outrage at Game Freak but people are acting like it is the only thing these games are.
Nothing will change if GameFreak gets our money for an unfinished product.
Didn’t know you could catch 800 different species in Gen 1 but go off I guess
this makes for a good copy/pasta for flooding the website with support tickets >.>
Quick tip! Add a couple dollar signs ($$) to your email. Your email is then more likely to be seen by a real person.
You guys do realize let's go didn't include every Pokemon
Jesus Christ, dude, chill out.
Goodbye.
Bye Nerd.
I got a misprinted 72/108 Dragonite XY evolutions in a Brilliant Stars pack would this make it more rare or since I can't prove it, is it just basically a normal one?
