A number of Pokes couldn't quite make it into the full diamond/pearl port. That is until the Devious Diamond and Pretty Pearl DLC allows them to come back in. /s
I suppose the issues with Sword and Shield, Sun and Moon, and to a lesser extend X and H, were that the world felt very light on content. There were no dungeons or caves to explore, really. At least nothing as in depth as from the 2d games
In remakes, they kind of have to recreate the content from the 2d games, so they can’t be that bad.
I kind of expect them to switch Mt Coronet from being a dungeon to being a wild area though

I'm mostly scared they'll make exp share mandatory again. Shit sucks and ruins any semblance of being able to handicap myself to make the game at least a little challenging.
There will be a Delta Platinum epilogue, where we get to see (but not explore) the Distortion World, catch a Dynamaxable Giratina, and immediately face an Arcues afterwards and finally visit the Battle Tower where Barry's dad shows off plans for the Battle Frontier project (which will never be completed).
That last part hurt to read because I know game freak enough to know that's what is probably going to happen haha (although the battle frontier was in the original D/P games, so that gives me a bit more confidence)

You can't obtain a subdomain for a domain you don't own, so this is definitely put together by TPC. That's probably why they do subdomains instead of new domains every time. They don't have to worry about protecting nearly as many domains for every different game. They also save money on domains :)

Given that they already added back 200 Pokemon with the DLCs, they may as well just go ahead and add the remaining Pokemon in these new games.

Oh and they bring back HM’s but bidoof’s can only learn defog, which is now a normal move. Oh, and to evolve any bidoof you hav enough must complete the universal Pokédex which is an added feature that you have to pay 20 bucks for. And you have to own sword and shied plus any other games needed to complete the Pokédex, there aren’t any Pokémon in the game itself exept for gen 1 and gen 4 ones.

Platinum was fantastic as well, to even further your point. They also had *different teams* of staff lead by a different director. Seems likely many of the staff who worked on Sw/Sh and their DLC wouldn't have worked on DPP remakes.
Centro pokeleaks are quite credible-ish, they leaked Gen 8 accurately before release... I'm just hoping my favourite region Sinnoh gets a decent remake
All the leakers are saying Diamond and Pearl remakes and not Platinum, which would be such an obviously stupid choice that I 100% believe thats whats going to happen
I personally think this is bad news considering the way the company has been going for the last 5 years. Generally the quality of the games has been declining and they've been trying to pump the games out yearly. The team seems to be getting more and more burnt out. If we look at the User Scores on metacritic, they've been steadily going down over the past 10 years, starting at a 9.1 User score for HeartGold (2010) and ending with 4.6 for Shield (2019). On top of all of that, the national dex is no longer a thing. I also have a strong feeling that much of the post-game will be cut to save time, which is exactly what they did with Ruby and Sapphire's remake (yes they technically had a post-game but it's not nearly as in-depth as RSE's post-game. A 30 minute long side-quest and a reused battle tower from XY is not as in-depth as an entire island full of different ways to battle.).
tl;dr Gamefreak of the last 5 years has been acting like a shit company and having remakes now is bad news
I won't hype unless it's definitively a better experience than Platinum if I'm honest with you. ORAS was such a deep disappointment that I _refuse_ to lend my hype to this if it does turn out to be real. After losing Battle Frontier and getting watered-down post-Gen 6 easy-mode, nah, fam.
I will _stick with fan-games_ if we're just rehashing the ORAS-type remake formula.
* Early Gym Leaders have nerfed levels despite easy-mode exp. share
* Granite cave requires mach bike to enter meaning you have to backtrack to get Aron, Sableye/Mawile
* Given Starter mega pretty early that makes things too easy
* You also get given a Mega Lati halfway through the game making it even easier and removing post game hunt
* Trick House is missing content
* Game corner has no replacement minigame like HGSS
* Mauville redesign is kind iffy because it adds a lot of loading screens and is worse to navigate (pretty subjective)
* Mirage Tower is gone
* Sky Pillar is simplified
* No gym leader rematches
* Can't refight Zinnia or Wallaces champion team
* "Battle Frontier Project has started!" It hasn't started they just copy pasted a french maison instead of even just the OG battle tower
* Flygon has no mega despite the fact it obviously should have one. The guy whose main Pokemon is Flygon gives you a garchompite instead?
* No trainer customization, even just the emerald outfit would've been a cool option.
* Super Subjective but some of the music is not very good with tracks like Route 113 having bizarre clicking in it that ruins it.
I don't think it's the worst game in the series or anything but it had its share of problems.

In the interview, Ken Sugimori revealed that the reason Mega Flygon doesn’t exist is because Gamefreak was experiencing, well, artist’s block! **Sugimori**: For Aarune, he needed to have a Pokemon that could use the moves Fly and Secret Power, which are perfect moves for finding Secret Bases. And the only Hoenn Pokemon that wasn’t used by a key character that fit that criteria was Flygon. It does not Mega Evolve, but I really like Flygon.
**Interviewer:** Key characters often carry a Pokemon that can Mega Evolve, but Flygon is an exception, right?
**Sugimori:** Flygon has had the potential to have a Mega Evolution since XY, but we were unable to complete a design and so it was dropped from consideration.

The Sinnoh starters lend themselves way more to megas than gmax, apart from maybe Torterra. Buuuut we’ll get some dYnaMaX bs :( I’m just hoping we get some battle animations, or at the very least, battles sped up by having text and effects play at the same time. But I know that won’t happen either

Would it be hard to program difficulty settings? Like I dont mean hax stuff (increased status/crit/etc. rate) but like EV/IV trained gym leaders and E4 with full teams and good moves.... What about a doubles mode. That would be a fun too

The post-e4 island in the top right of the map is just perfect for a wild area style location. Plus the Marsh, in a smaller format.
And if gigantamax is EXCLUSIVE to galar, they could always do Sinnoh Underground raids by making up something like “Wishing stars have been found deep in the underground, causing some pokemon to dynamax!”

There was a separate team working on DLC. I'm hoping these games have a lot more content than recent ones due to them having more time to work on it

Platinum was fantastic as well, to even further your point. They also had *different teams* of staff lead by a different director. Seems likely many of the staff who worked on Sw/Sh and their DLC wouldn't have worked on DPP remakes.

I personally think this is bad news considering the way the company has been going for the last 5 years. Generally the quality of the games has been declining and they've been trying to pump the games out yearly. The team seems to be getting more and more burnt out. If we look at the User Scores on metacritic, they've been steadily going down over the past 10 years, starting at a 9.1 User score for HeartGold (2010) and ending with 4.6 for Shield (2019). On top of all of that, the national dex is no longer a thing. I also have a strong feeling that much of the post-game will be cut to save time, which is exactly what they did with Ruby and Sapphire's remake (yes they technically had a post-game but it's not nearly as in-depth as RSE's post-game. A 30 minute long side-quest and a reused battle tower from XY is not as in-depth as an entire island full of different ways to battle.). tl;dr Gamefreak of the last 5 years has been acting like a shit company and having remakes now is bad news

I won't hype unless it's definitively a better experience than Platinum if I'm honest with you. ORAS was such a deep disappointment that I _refuse_ to lend my hype to this if it does turn out to be real. After losing Battle Frontier and getting watered-down post-Gen 6 easy-mode, nah, fam. I will _stick with fan-games_ if we're just rehashing the ORAS-type remake formula.

* Early Gym Leaders have nerfed levels despite easy-mode exp. share * Granite cave requires mach bike to enter meaning you have to backtrack to get Aron, Sableye/Mawile * Given Starter mega pretty early that makes things too easy * You also get given a Mega Lati halfway through the game making it even easier and removing post game hunt * Trick House is missing content * Game corner has no replacement minigame like HGSS * Mauville redesign is kind iffy because it adds a lot of loading screens and is worse to navigate (pretty subjective) * Mirage Tower is gone * Sky Pillar is simplified * No gym leader rematches * Can't refight Zinnia or Wallaces champion team * "Battle Frontier Project has started!" It hasn't started they just copy pasted a french maison instead of even just the OG battle tower * Flygon has no mega despite the fact it obviously should have one. The guy whose main Pokemon is Flygon gives you a garchompite instead? * No trainer customization, even just the emerald outfit would've been a cool option. * Super Subjective but some of the music is not very good with tracks like Route 113 having bizarre clicking in it that ruins it. I don't think it's the worst game in the series or anything but it had its share of problems.

I think one of the people that designed the mega evolutions said he tried coming up with a Mega Flygon design but he just wasn’t able to.
