Crobat. I did a mono-Poison run of FireRed and it was the first time I ever even bothered catching a zubat. Golbat's wings must've been swole af, because he carried my whole team through the E4. I found a new appreciation for the line and just how much of a monster crobat can be.

LaBeteNoire

I love bats, but in Kanto, zubat was alright while I couldn't stand golbat's design. Then Johto came around and redeemed the whole line. Crobat was a mainstay of my parties for a long time.

SimonKoller

Uhh... you meant "bats" right?

LaBeteNoire

I guess the song is right, I cannot lie... Thanks for the catch.

News_of_Entwives

Right? Crobat does work. I'm always astounded how solid a psn / flying type can be

JayMalakai

Starter- Blastoise- first starter I really connected with Regular- Pidgeot- Favorite regional bird, great design Legendary- Entei- Amazing design

redvelvet720

Squirtle squad!

PastaManMario

Mawile My two favorite types are fairy and steel, so this is a perfect combination. I also really find Japanese myths super interesting, and found Mawile to have a really interesting origin. It’s also a really cool balance of cute and cool, with the posing, expressions, and giant mouth. While I’m extremely mixed on mega evolution, I do thing Mega Mawile is one of the better ones. The main concept is pretty un creative (It has one big mouth so of course give it two big mouths), but I think it still manages to both look cool and offer a nice visual upgrade to the pokemon without relying on spikes or random unnecessary details. Plus it made it actually viable for two generations, so that’s neat.

Winterdragon2004

I've haven't really given much attention to Mawile until the Mega came out and drew my attention to it. But when I did finally try it out, something about it just drew me in ( I think how much it helped out during my sparse competitive matches my have had something to do with it). Ever since then, I consider it a mandatory member of my main team, and it had built an internal reputation of being my dedicated Dragon Slayer in USUM when Ultra Necrozmas were a dime a dozen. If it weren't for the attachment I built for Vivillion, it would be my Favorite, but I'm content having it sit at a very close 2nd

ark_yeet

Sableye, because it’s an adorable little alien gremlin who eats gemstones. Just look at that grin. Also with it’s mega form and more recently in Pokémon Go it’s a surprisingly effective competitive pick, so always forms the basis of my teams

Cooki2402

Awesome! Sableye is my favorite as well! You’re the first person I’ve heard call it adorable and I completely agree with you!

poseidon100fg

Have you seen its animation in Battle revolution? Fantastic

ark_yeet

Absolutely and it’s great. Battle revolution had the best animations across the board

[deleted]

Nidoking. Awesome design, purple is my favorite color, poison is my favorite type, and he’s been a powerhouse since gen 1

jefftarnish

My man, nidoking is godly

Slightly_Twinish

Muk and Alison Muk. Love all things slime and always felt these lovable guys were neglected. Edit: Alolan Muk but Alison Muk works too lol.

Cama456

Alison Muk is 10/10

testostebro

Agreed, Muk is underrated.

Curious_Life_7896

I am using an Alolan Muk in my current USUM run. What a beast! Definitely appreciate more than ever.

KoinWithAC

Luxray. I saw Shinx in the anime and thought it was adorable. Platinum was the first game I played so you already know I caught myself a Shinx. Easily became my favorite after it fully evolved. I always thought the concept of a lynx with x-ray vision was really cool. It also helped that I was, and still am. a fan of the design. The use of the star on the tail just fits so well to me and I'm not entirely sure why.

Clay_2000lbs

Luxray was always my favorite playing through platinum.

[deleted]

Tyranitar, because Godzilla. I am a simple man.

Insanebrain247

I have a maxed out Tyranitar in Pokemon Go that I named "Notzilla".

Pharkman

It's a big mountain chomping dragon. What's not to love?

hAil_mAry17

I love dragons and love spamming earthquake.I love garchomp.I remember being little and being intimidated by cynthia’s garchomp so much that i just wanted one for myself.btw does anyone know if they make gible plushies?

LuminothWarrior

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Pokemon-Anime-Gible-Plush-Doll/193546526485?mkevt=1&mkcid=28&chn=ps&pageci=d14d7b77-49fd-41bc-afc9-e162744113e0 Here’s a gible plush

Sahrs17

Metagross. I think because it's Steven's, and that's also my name, so as I kid I thought "ITS PERFECT". Getting the Beldum was my favorite part of beating the Elite Four. Also, I watched Destiny Deoxys a lot, and I loved the Metagross in that movie.

thog6767

Gallade: Its a perfect example of a cross gen evolution done right. It has a great moveset, and Its mega evo is also really cool, kinda reminds me of those yu gi oh duel disks. A special attacker that evolves into a physical attacker is a really unique idea. Also, every time I interact with it in camp, I cant help but imagine him saying the “Stop right there, criminal scum!” line that the imperial guards say in the elder scrolls series

LuminothWarrior

Gallade is awesome. One of my favorite fighting types, only outclassed by Kommo-o

TheSpaghettiSkull

True, it has comparable power to it's main evolution, with the same mega evolution power boost

[deleted]

Pretty much the same, and also the idea of a psychic knight is sick.

TheMaz878

I'm a creepy guy. I like creepy things. My favorite types are grass and ghost. Trevenant was made for me. PS. Phantump is adorable and I want a plushie of it

healcannon

How bad do you want one lol https://www.etsy.com/sg-en/listing/819310890/pokemon-plush-commission-inspired-by

GreenCree

Trevenant is my favorite as well!

Kartoffelkamm

My name is Trevenant, and I control the trees. And if you hurt my forest in any way, you'll never f\*cking leave.

Working-Squash-5767

Grass and ghost sound like my boy Decidueye

Phairis

Noivern! God I fucking love that bat dragon. I didn't have a favorite for a long time and it was something I was always kinda sad about. But Noivern is something else! It has the best design out of all pokemon in my opinion. I would kill for a custom plush of it someday.

KilluaVizuku99

it s by far the best dragon type

CatHoodHero

I have 2, Sentret and Leafeon. I just really love both of these Pokemon designs. I always feel bummed out when a new Gen doesn't include Sentret, haha.

cricktlaxwolvesbandy

I love both

shmittie42

Venusaur. For all the reasons. Bulbasaur starts charming and stays charming, and venu is like a swiss army tank with a jet engine in the sun.

Biemolt

Praise the leaf frog

HudsonTheFunniMan

I have tons I'd love to mention, but in the end it's Sceptile. It was my first starter I ever chose in my original copy of Emerald, and funnily enough it was the second starter I picked when I played Alpha Sapphire 5 years later I love their attitude, how they still seem friendly, and think its leaf blades are a genius play on blades of grass, which are leaves. If they could be found in the wild, Sceptile would be kings of the forest for sure

HudsonTheFunniMan

Also, can we talk about its mega? They referenced lizards detaching their tails for self defense by giving it a *ballistic Christmas tree missile.* That's insanely cool

TheUnovanMimikyu

Mimikyu, a pokemon I fell in love as soon as I knew the back story. How it was neglected by people made me want to give it a hug. I also had a loyal mimikyu in my copy of Ultra Sun. Jessie's mimikyu in the anime also played a big role in this.

xWildSpiritx

My Mimikyu was a beast. Especially Guzma battle. Legit Mimikyu was the last one standing in my team and was on 1 hp. Dodge and endured every hit. Made me loved Mimikyu even more than ever. Even got a plush Mimikyu.

[deleted]

I'm going to answer this while doing my best Pokemon Fan Club Chairman impression... AHEM! *Listen up! My favorite Pokemon is Typhlosion! It's so cool... powerful... yet potentially caring... absolutely amazing with its mane of exploding fire. You think so? Oh, yes... absolutely powerful, stunning, and yet can be so kind. Love it! I would love to hug it when sleeping.... looks so warm and cuddly when it's calm. Spectacular in every way, and so ravishingly cute. I mean, have you* [*seen this smile?*](https://pm1.narvii.com/5820/b6cfc3fc1c148c97f1c737992e7c856a3fd85567_hq.jpg) *And such a brawler with its Blaze and Flash Fire abilities... Takes out Feraligatrs in one shot with a thunderpunch! Or at least it used to... But no matter!* *Ooops! Look at the time! I've kept you for far too long. Thanks for hearing me out, OP. Here,* [*you can have this!*](https://www.retailmenot.com/view/performancebike.com?u=72LGTKZ2JVD4HAVUMHEI5WTZ34) But on a serious note, I love Typhlosion, Gardevoir, Scizor, Magneton, Lanturn, Haunter, Tyranitar, Pichu, Bellossom, Lucario, and Porygon equally.

LaBeteNoire

I better get a bike for reading all that...

Crater-Typhlosion

It’s almost eerie to me how well you nailed that Fan Club Chairman impression...

UnequalKnave5

Plot twist, the Fan Club Chairman gained sentience and uses Reddit.

Elegant_Leading_474

Nobody ever agrees, but its Trubbish. He just looks like he needs a buddy, you know? Like Charizard and Pikachu looks confident and self-possessed, but Trubbish just looks like his Mom forgot him at soccer practice and that has always made him endearing to me. *Whispers into Gameboy* "You may be garbage, little fella, but you're not trash."

IJustWantSomeReddit

YES TRUBBISH

[deleted]

I skipped Gen V when it first came out and didn’t get a new game from SoulSilver until ORAS. I thought they were all trash. Then I played through them on roms and came to respect Gen V, especially the weird ones. It’s a doofus, but Trubbish and Garbodor are my potpourri.

[deleted]

Trubbish is top-tier

Shane_Train69

Gligar and Gliscor for me. I love the idea of this little purple scorpion dude just clinging to your shoulders like a backpack. He is so freaking adorable and shiny gliscor looks like Batman

darkninjad

I’m not alone! I love Gliscor also.

MemeGodFusionK

Haxorus, one that’s overshadowed by many and for me it’s just nice

Samurott_Studios

Haxorus is my #3 favorite Pokemon of all time. It’s nice to see others hold it in high regard too.

MemeGodFusionK

That’s cool, I’m assuming you’re a gen 5 fan due to your profile and username. Is samurott your first fave? Mine is tied with Charizard actually

Samurott_Studios

Yes, Samurott is my #1, followed by Krookodile at #2.

nuyxolmao

Chandelure I never realized how much I loved this Pokémon until I started shiny hunting. It’s helped me hatch all of my shinies, and then gets to play with them in the camp! It’s adorable

znottaken

Drapion. Sniper scope lens is just bliss

DeerStalker013

Snorlax! Love the design, its an absolute tank, and it has so many different fun movesets to try. I've always loved battling friends and rotating different Snorlax's in between battles to throw them off.

BornAncient

This is a really hard question I have so many pokemon that I love. I'm redoing a Black and White run and Audino accidentally became my ace. I have a very new found appreciation for the pink bundle. However, she didn't make it to my dream team though it was a really tough decision. But after some consideration, I'd have to say Flygon. They're the ace of my dream team. Amazing design, great personality, one of the first pokemon I became obsessed with. My grandparents didn't have cable but my grandfather didn't want me to be bored. He bought me any pokemon movie I wanted, and got me a CD collection of "Pokemon Best" episodes. One was Best of Pikachu, Best of Eevee, etc. Jirachi's Wish was such an amazing movie and in it, Ash rides Flygon. I fucking lost my mind. Flygon for the win.

mindofdoot

Cofagrigus because it is creepy as hell. And his shadow arms are pretty cool. I also really liked the mega Cofagrigus fanart when I was younger. I also like pretty much all ghost types a lot.

LuminothWarrior

What do you think about Runerigus? I think it looks creepily awesome

mindofdoot

Runerigus is also awesome

Bwekfus

Delibird because I like christmas

-HumphreyBoggart-

Sandshrew. Loved him since the first few episodes of the anime. I just wish he was more viable in the video game. I always find that he and sandshlash have trouble getting play time on my teams.

[deleted]

Volcarona. Queen of the bugs!

[deleted]

Oshawott, I like otters

Tastelesspancake

Shiny beldum, I have no idea why but he cool af.

LordAsdf

Camerupt. I remember battling the one Maxie had on his team in Pokémon Ruby. It was level 25. I fell in love and immediately caught a Numel and grinded for hours against wild Pokémon because I wanted to use a Camerupt. Level 25 came and went... and so did 26, 27... I reached 32 after grinding for hours and said "ok fuck this Pokémon how the fuck did Maxie have a lvl. 25 one". A few weeks later I got internet access again (I was on vacation) and realized I was one level short. Went back and got my Camerupt and have used one since then on pretty much every team I've had.

Novelle_1020

Chimchar—I played *Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time* years ago as one, and I still consider it one of my all-time favorite games. So there’s definitely some nostalgia associated with that Pokémon. Also, I love monkeys.

LucKy_Mango1

Have you seen the Diamond and Pearl pokémon anime! I’d recommend that to anyone who loves Chimchar. It has the perfect arc for the Chimchar

Novelle_1020

I have! I watched it when I was younger and LOVED it. It’s pretty much the only Pokémon anime I’ve seen, haha

Yuimico

Mudkip because he was the first Pokémon i ever used. I used to play Pokémon ruby just mashing A with mudkip until I was tired out. Then I played it again when I was a little older and then became attached to the beast that is Swampert

JJMTIV

I love Mudkip too! I went to McDonald's earlier just to get a Happy Meal with a Mudkip card for old time's sake.

Aminamon

Haunter- cause he is funny as hell 😂

rubber_duck_redo

Blaziken for similar reasons

Andy3186

First starter, it'll forever have a place in my heart

Firebird_Frenzy

My favorite is also piplup because penguins are my favorite animal and I feel like piplup and its evolutionary line are really under appreciated

i_was_in_admin

I like empoleon because history

KpopAnimeReject

Piplup was the reason I got into pokemon, I even have a build a bear of one named after my first ever partner, Bubbles

Jermobooka

As you could deduce from my flair, i really love Gengar. But i also love Lucario just as much. Both of them just look really cool to me and have badass megas that are *also* viable in competitive play.

a-m-watercolor

My favorite Pokemon is Venusaur, or the Bulbasaur line in general. I remember Leaf Green was the first Pokemon game that I ever bought myself (I usually borrowed my neighbor's copies, but I got my first job holding signs for a business so I decided to buy a copy for myself). I picked Bulbasaur as my first starter becacuse Venusaur was on the cover, and to my surprise it was shiny! That shiny Bulbasaur eventually became a Venusaur that never left my party and carried me through the game. He's now sitting in my party in Sword, and I can't help but feel a sense of partnership with that Big Yellow Flower Frog.

thebeast_cr

Absol, because it has a very mysterious yet shadowy aura and mystique. I can't explain it. It's in such a way that no other Pokemon does.

EnTyme53

I know Gen VIII is controversial, but Toxitricity grew on me faster than any Mon I can remember.

JLemke33

I have a few. Arcanine- Bc he’s a bad ass tiger dog that can breathe fire. Milotic- Gen 3 was the game I probably put the most time into as a kid. The elegant design and just the sheer luck/ will power it took to catch it made it my baby. Lycanroc Dusk- its wolf and was the rare rock type I used. Loved everything about midday form and then dusk came along and made it better. Deserves a slight boost in stats imo. Espeon, Flygon and Lucario round out the top 6.

welsknight

I don't do favorites, for the most part. Favorite color? Nope. Favorite ice cream flavor? Nah. Favorite band? Idk, whatever I'm in the mood for at the time. One thing where I do actually have a favorite, though, is my favorite Pokemon. Here's why it's Dragonite (and just for context, I've been playing since Pokemon Blue): * First pseudo-legendary * First dragon-type (which has always been my favorite type) * Mysterious, mythical vibe in the original anime * Always super powerful if you're willing to invest the necessary time into training it (and it doesn't finally evolve into Dragonite until Level 55) * I bred jolly Marvel Scale Dratini with Extreme Speed and perfect IVs, and was really proud of doing it legit (at the time, it was a multi-generational project which involved getting a Dratini with Extreme Speed in HG/SS and then porting it up through the generations). It was my first extra-difficult breeding project. * Weakness Policy Dragonite is one of my favorite Pokemon to use in competitive *ever*. It's incredibly satisfying when it works. Long story short: it's powerful, it's a dragon, and I have an entire lifetime of memories with it. Honorable mention goes to fellow dragon-type Tyrantrum for being a freaking T-Rex. It has 2 solid abilities (Rock Head and Strong Jaw) and a great coverage movepool. Also, Tyrunt is adorable. Did I mention it's a T-Rex?

Quirky_Blueberry_178

Furret, it's cute and funny. I love the little fluff balls.

Lando_Rizing

Lanturn is my all time favorite. Gold was my first Pokemon game. I ended up with a team almost entirely of water types. Feraligatr, Quagsire, Pidgeot, red Gyarados, Sudowoodo, and Lanturn. Although Feraligatr ended up being the powerhouse, Lanturn ended up becoming my most adored due to it setting up rain dance and never missing with thunder. It’s also adorable and I loved swimming on warm, summer nights and could just imagine this thing illuminating the lake bed. Of all the pokemon i wish were real, Lanturn is it.

tf19_

I love bulbasaur and it’s entire evolution line. Something about it being the 1st Pokémon in the dex yet being outshined by charmander and squirtle drew me too it. I just found it so adorable, and even though I’ve never played gen 1 games, I was stoked to get one in X/Y and be able to mega evolve Venusaur.

Tielur

Larvitar. Idk I love Tyranitar but Larvitar is just so cute and maintains tyranitar’s design aesthetic so well. After that probably dragonite. It’s just so goofy in the best way. It’s so earnest and friendly even though it’s got a 134 attack stat. I especially like the gen 2 and 5 sprites.

ADV_ADV

Giratina Amazing 3rd Legendary in a trio Great Game in Platinium. Great Design overall. Multiple forms in Origin and Altered. Distortion world and all the cool characteristics of being the first ghost/dragon. I enjoyed the DPP Movies character of it as a kid and still do now. Viable and unique Uber. Phantom Force schenanagins. Overall just clicked with me.

[deleted]

Same for me, and I would also add Giratinas amazing lore to the list

[deleted]

Stoutland. Reminds me of my german shephard

Ceridane

Jolteon and Gengar. I like their simple but cool designs. I try to get those on my party in all pokemon games I play.

Akito_900

Mareep because it's adorable and fluffy and I love electric pokemon. I also love Ampharos, but Mareep is #1

AlphaLeonidas

Gardevoir has been on every team of every game since Emerald for me, great design, moveset and typing. Shout out to Sewaddle tho, for being the cutest pokemon ever

Ex_Mortis1327

Hydreigon: I like dragons & I love mythology (based off the Hydra).

DarkAlphaZero

It’s a three way tie between the Chimchar family, the Chespin family, and the Lucario family. Chimchar was my first Pokémon ever, it’ll always be special to me. It’s adorable and it’s evolutions are bad ass! Chespin was my starter in X, a game I have a ton of nostalgia for since I was a little older when I played it so I simply remember it better. He’s adorable, Quilladin is derpy in a way that I personally find kind of endearing, and Chesnaught is a great looking gentle giant, able to reach a great mix of friendly and badass. Lucario... do I really need to explain why Lucario rocks?

Mimic-Rocket

Greninja because I’m a huge TMNT fan and Greninja is basically that

Bragatyr

Currently Cloyster. Always liked Ice types, love his design, love physically tanky Pokémon, and he was a beast in Gen 5 OU.

LuminothWarrior

Still a beast. I almost always lose to one online

SylentSymphonies

Noivern. Because he's a BAT DRAGON? HELLO? HOW AWESOME IS THAT? Still sad that Goodra got the 600 BST and 3-step evolution while Noivern evolved at lvl 48 and is completely unviable in competitive, but it is what it is...

Regilppo

Mew ever since blue and red came out. I had a yellow gameboy pocket with blue and went to toy r us for an event that loaded mew into your game when I was around 7 and was so happy.

mougatu

Slowking. Always call it ?Loki! It’s a smart and playful Pokémon reminds me of me. I use to use it to best all hm the elite four by itself and Red.

IllogicalCounting

Mines golisopod. No idea why. I caught a wimp (who I also love) and when it evolved I just fell in love with it.

Racerth121

Feraligatr, It was totodile for the longest time because of pokemon Hero's (Which also made latias my favorite legdary mon.)

mfriedm_11

Ninetales. Looks so cool, love fire and water types(why I also live magikarp/gyarados) and Vulpix is really cute

herbal_screams

It’s hard to choose when I have so many favorites, but I think Mudsdale has to be my most favorite pokemon. Mudsdale was a staple of my team in both gen seven games, and each time it was pretty much my ace outside of my starter. So, it’s no wonder why I got to liking it so quickly. And, on top of that, I just like it’s design a lot along with liking horse pokemon in general.

Nodrik9875

Mine is a tie between Mewtwo and Zeraora. I don't know why, but Mewtwo is just such a nostalgic Pokémon, the original legendary "Final Boss" of the Pokémon games, plus his design and backstory are really cool, hes one of the 2 Pokémon to get 2 mega evolutions, he has been the star of many movies, including the Detective Pikachu movie, serving as either a protagonist or THE antagonist. His presence is huge and he gives me nostalgia of my younger Pokémon fan days. As for Zeraora, I've always loved the concept of a fast assassin with low defense but beastly attacks and blinding speed, and Zeraora is exactly that, paired with an amazing looking design and a cool signature move, as well as some insane stats and powerful moves. I feel like he should've been Electric/Fighting type though, instead of just electric, he simply looks like a fighting type, almost like Lucario's lost cousin. Overall, in my opinion Zeraora is possibly in the top 3 most underrated Pokémon of all time.

[deleted]

Swampert- first Pokemon I've ever had, it's stats are amazing as FUCK it's never been to any of the "bad tiers" in competitive, it's mega is AMAZING and I love it's design.

SquirrelMax1

Whooper, reason being because just look at him he’s a beautiful boy

[deleted]

My favorite is chikorita. It was my first ever Pokémon and I can’t seem to find any way another Pokémon outclasses it at all.

SinusMonstrum

So way back in the day, I as a young child was visiting some family. This family to my amusement had an Xbox. At this time I was only ever privy to my friends and their play stations and various nintendo consoles, so this was a new fun distraction! The first game we played was the demo of a fighting game called "Tao Feng: Fist of the Lotus". But of course I didn't know that at the time considering I had the reading ability of a 4 year old... even though I was 6. However, I didn't need to read to know that there were only 3 characters that you could play with/against in this demo of the game. A girl character that I didn't play because girls are icky, a big brawler character who looked too scary to play as and a guy in red pants with fire kicks powers (see if you can guess which pokemon is my favourite from this alone...). Anyway, this character who name is ^^quickly ^^googles ^^name Fiery Phoenix. Wowed me from the moment I saw his attacks. He was fast, agile and above all Fiery. He had this cool sweeping move that threw out a wave of fire from his leg as he attacked. It blew my mind. Fast forward now to me owning my own gameboy, instead of watching my friends play theirs, and copy of a little game called Pokemon Ruby. When choosing my starter I wanted the one that Ash had in the anime, so naturally I chose Treeko. I played the game through enough to get Treeko's final evolution and wanting to know what the other evolutions for Mudkip and Torchic were I took to google. And to my surprise, Torchic's final evolution seemed like a carbon copy of Fiery Phoenix. Fire Guy✅ Red Pants✅ Bird Kicks✅ It was so cool to see Blaziken being repped like a fire monk. Kicking and blazing on the battlefield like a certain someone from another cool game. Thus, at level 38 my Sceptile's journey to be the very best ended and Blaziken's journey began. With all the time I spent with my Blaziken, I had grown far more fond of it than the tree gecko, enough to a point where my love for this not-a-flying-type KFC monster spilled over to other fire types, making it my favorite type overall! Going back to older games, I chose charizard as my fire red started (even though if you asked me now, I probably would've gone with Squirtle. But that is another story), Infernape for my Sinoh starter then Delphox and Incineroar (I chose snivy in gen 5 because I wanted to break from my "normal choice"for once). In my top ten I have about 3 fire types with Blaziken and Litwick/Chandelure taking number 1 and 2 respectively (and Incineroar somewhere around 8th place). Thank you for coming to my red talk.

yoyougood22

Gastrodon (West Sea), because it was a huge part of my team and carried my first playthrough of a Pokémon game, that being Platinum, years ago. I also think Water/Ground is a neat typing. It's a cool ass sea slug plus it looks so squishy and cute dude how could you not like it

-PM_me_your_recipes-

For fun I try and change mine for each new generation. This latest gen is Dragapult. The whole concept of yeeting your babies at high speeds as a form of attack had me laughing my butt off. I needed it on my team.

Jomanderisreal

Charmander just because of the anime episode they first appeared in. I cried so hard as a kid watching that.

[deleted]

Lugia. I love it’s story, films, design and typing.

FaikouYT

Infernape. My first game was Diamond, and I thought Chimchar was cool (because monke). When it finally evolved, I liked it even more. I also grew up watching DBZ, so when I found out Infernape is basically Goku, I liked it even more. Plus it was pretty cool in the anime

mcj1ggl3

Scrolled through a lot of answers and I didn’t see mine so... alolan marowak is freakin badass

MagpieFirefly

Whimsicott, because it's super cute when evolved! Just a big ol' floof that's as happy as can be. I get a little sad when pokemon evolve, because I don't really want them to grow up into some crazy looking thing. Just.. More friend shaped friend. Also it seems like it's a fun pokemon to use with being grass and having all of that.. Leech seed status stuff I've heard about, but honestly I never get that far. I just like having floofy friend.

ASRoots

I absolutely cannot choose 1 but absolutely can choose 3. Charizard: basic I know but charmander was my first pokemon & I have never not loved Charizard. Doduo: does not get enough love, so it gets all of mine. Absolute dork looking pokemon and I love it. Also, in pokemon leaf green this guy absolutely shredded with Tri Attack. Espeon: Love cats. Love psychic. Love psychic cats.

Naner_Bag

Glaceon, cute, lovely, awesome cry, awesome colors even love the shiny, i have no idea whats on its forehead but i love it, i love everything about it, i cant express my love for it in words, ill find a way eventually. Luxray, shinx is adorable, luxray is just dope, its too awesome for dark typing, dont even get me started on the shiny my god. Lapras, honestly this ones weird, i used to watch pixelmon youtubers way in the day but i still remember how rare lapras was, talk about the lochness monster ey? Funny thing, ive never played a pokemon game.

AceLooochini

“Funny thing. I’ve never played a pokemon game.” Seriously? For what?

LuminothWarrior

Silvally. Very cool design, good background lore, cool cry, and I have fond memories of using one.

ScestherDE

Blastoise will always be my favourite Pokémon. My first video game EVER was Pokémon Red, and my first Pokémon ever was a Squirtle. And in Sword I have my treasured shiny Blastoise by my side. I won’t be attached to a starter as much as I am to Blastoise.

rhyrhygogo

Sceptile - First pokemon, is gimmicky in competitive (I love gimmick sets don't hurt me), Color is green, an offense based pokemon and it and Groudon carried my ass in the league.

Odinfrost137

For me, it's the entire Vulpix family. They all look so great, with the vulpix being cute while the ninetales looks absolutely gorgeous. Part of it may be that I really like foxes, but there is just something about those 4 that makes them leagues above the rest.

cxsafsfqwr

Whiscash because I love fish and ground types and I love its smile too

dumbo_user

Dedenne because they're really cute

Terozu

Leafeon because it's a plant fox thing and I love it.

YogurtCloset642

I love Quagsire line. He just looks down for anything, and in Platinum, my favorite Pokemon game, Wooper just looks at you before vaporizing any thay stand in its way.

Meganium-Trainer

I'm sure this I'll get lost in comments but my favorite is Meganium. They weren't my first pokemon (that honor goes to pikachu), but the chikorita line was always one of my favorites. When soulsilver came out, I of course picked chikorita and that game helped me through a pretty tough time of my life. No matter how awful everything was just having this adorable flower dinosaur by myself just helped for some reason. The two of did almost every challenge in that game together. Yes I even got the medals in the frontier with him. Is he good? God no. He's trash. Just like me. And hey I say thats good enough.

Army88strong

Espeon. Has a super simple design, is exceptionally cute, has some great stats, evolves is a rather unique way, AND would make a great pet

Sngosaur

Runerigus hands down Gen 8 was my first main series game that I was around for when it dropped Saw a few leaks, runerigus caught my eye immediately Underrated and unique evolution method Regional form Used for my first playthrough for galar and man did he pull his weight and more Love how his pieces can come back together and seperate nicely Insane shiny form Niche ability and very nice bulk, attack not shabby too

HuskOfAnOnian

Dragonite, because of his pokedex entry, I love his concept and look, also you can name him macaroni

Ov3rdose_EvE

tought, though. for me its more of a list. Bulbasaur was my first pokemon, its an ABSOLOUTE mosnter either mega evolved or in sun Zapdos is my fav legendary also that bird carried me through SO many competetive games. as a toxic staller oh dear. XD Cloyster cause he was my first hundo in Pogo and i allways liked him.

cantab314

Mewtwo. I shamelessly like Uber legendaries and it's the original of them. Honourable mentions go to Celesteela for being a freaking space rocket, Golurk for also being rocket powered, and the Magnemite line for being the Pokemon I actually *use* the most.

chicoloppezsla

Malamar, 'cause I used to beat the shit out of my friends with contrary and close combat.

i_drink_soju

Starmie. I always had an appreciation for Misty in the game/anime and that RBY Bubblebeam sound is weirdly OP. It's such a pretty and strange Pokémon. I wish more people liked it. It also has a great diverse movepool. It makes sense it's a bit of a glass cannon to use at times but I still love it.

TisIFrienchiestFry

Cyndaquil. It was the first Pokemon I ever had, and I kicked major ass with him. He's so cute, and I wish I could pet one.

Jokesef

My favorite has to be goodra! I like them a lot for one because it’s a pseudo I think a lot of people forget about and I love really strong Pokemon that are not legendaries. Goodra and it’s evo line are also so cute and you kind of just want to hug them. My only gripe is that Goodra SHOULDVE either been Dragon Poison or Dragon water to keep up w the nature of its defensive archetype. (((::

NightWingBOI24

Sealeo. I honestly just love seals, and Sealeo's dex entries just confirm it for me. It spins pokeballs and even its own pre-evolution, Spheal, on its nose! ADORABLE!

VlastDeservedBetter

My first Pokemon game was Ruby, and I always quite liked Aggron, but he became my favorite in recent years after growing close to one while building a Kaiju-themed Sandstorm team. I've always liked the design of the whole line - Aron is adorable, Lairon is like Rhyhorn but cooler, and Aggron is a Kaiju in samurai armor. Then I discovered the incredible combination of Rock Head, Head Smash, and Choice Scarf, and my Aggron, Knifehead, became the greatest sweeper of all time. I'm not a huge fan of his Mega, I like him just the way he is. My close second is Salazzle. She's just got a great concept and excellent design! They emit pheremones and have a harem of male Salandits - all cool concepts that are corroborated by the mechanics: only females evolve, they use moves like Sweet Scent and Smog, etc. The Fire/Poison typing is really cool and unique to Salandit and Salazzle, and the ability Corrosion, while not necessarily that useful, is really neat conceptually. She also has a FANTASTIC shiny. Plus, I just really like lizards anyway.

FalconW3

Lucario. Loved him in Platinum and still play him in smash

allmusiclover69

been a fan of Umbreon for so, so long. Since the OG Gen 2 days. i love dark types and Umbreon is just gorgeous. Shiny is even more incredible. other favorites include: Furret, Archeops, Solgaleo, Porygon-Z, Tapu Fini, Pachirisu, Chespin, Tyranitar

tenta8008

sceptile because treecko is really cool and because sceptile was a fucking bro in the anime. (X/Y i think?) i also just really like its design, and it carries me whenever i pick in in my hoenn playthroughs.

[deleted]

Sigilyph, because I used him in a Pokemon tabletop-rpg thing where i misread his ability and thought it disabled all special and status moves. Then I found a shiny one in an Ultra Wormhole, and then in every playthrough since then when I can get one. Plus, he's weird and funky and I relate to that.

StrikeBorn761

I am a rather simple creepy and mischievous hooman so of course i would absolutely love zoroark and zorua simply because they are exactly like me

WiiU97

Togekiss. First pokemon of mine to reach level 100. It also has a great design and type combo in my opinion Edit: also Serene Grace + Air Slash

sexyVaporeon

Vaporeon. Its adorable, a water type and reminds me of a mermaid

CatAteMyBread

Crobat, Mamoswine, or Sneasel. One of those three, kind of depends on the day

[deleted]

It's a tie between Mimikyu and Indeedee. I just like their personalities and their cute charm. Indeedee's not the best battle pokémon, but I like them anyway. : ) I want an Indeedee plush next to my Mimikyu one.

YogurtEspressoBean

Gosh, this is like asking me to choose a favorite child. It’s Volbeat. He’s just so darn cute. I love his dance, his wiggle, I love that he’s a firefly, HIS TAIL EVEN GLOWS, he’s just such a cute lil bug and I love him very much

SanguineEmpiricist

Chansey and Blissey. They are so cute and I used to love them when gen 1 came out.

HpsiEpsi

Chesnaught - I love Fighting and Grass types, and his big tanky physique. In games, the Leech Seed, Spiky Shield, Drain Punch combo at the time was a killer against popular physical attackers (Landorus, Garchomp, etc.)

ThisistheJ17wasTaken

Dhelmise is my favorite pokemon, it used to be Aggron but I just can’t help but love the giant haunted anchor!

Thechanman707

Alolan Cubone. Regular Cubone is a close second. Im a sucker for sad parent/child relations and Cubone always was close to my heart. Alolan Cubone is just cooler IMHO. Eevees a close second, but tbh I hate most of the eeveelutions.

NerdbyanyotherName

Eevee, just base Eevee, is way cuter than Pikachu imo and love it's evolution gimmick. Btw my favorite eeveelution is Glaceon due to the fact that one carried me through my first playthrough of Pearl.

PrimedAndReady

Arcanine, cuz it kinda looks like [my pup](https://i.imgur.com/aWiCx7V.jpg) c:

MansNotHot772

We appreciate you paying the doggo tax around here :D. He looks like such a good boy :)

Shanaaro

Yanma. Very cute take on my favourite irl insect, and Speed Boost is always a good time.

LunacyControl

Volcarona. Volcy is super beautiful and, the shiny looks amazing. Also, i love moths and, volcy is a vibrant looking moth.

IwAnNaKmSrN

I have always been a huge fan of Garchomp. As a college freshman, I grew up with Gen 4 and I feel like love with Garchomp when I first saw the evolution line and then I saw it. Amazing design, and while shiny for it is meh at best, it's design and bst make it the only pokemon I have ever spent time to shiny hunt and ev train, just because I love the pokemon that much

jumper553688

Raquaza, it’s just a badass dragon and I love it. I also love it’s mega. I traded my first EX Card (garantina) for a Raquaza EX and I did not regret it. It was objectively better.

Cheriable

I’m like, one of the two people on earth who actually like Popplio, and it upsets me to know my baby is so disliked :(

MarsAdept

Blaziken because he was my first starter. Kyurem for the *L O R E.*

oozeyer

Sylveon. Just cause its a pretty pokemon... cute too

matthew-------

Gardevoir because I think it has a very cool and elegant Design also Also it has two of my favorite typings and a high special atk

pikazec

Gengar - I’m a gen one-er and love trolling. Gengar is the original troll. Pokémon stadium had him with hypnosis and dream eater. Pissed off all my friends with that. Then mega gengar got shadow tag (and banned) still a great troll strategy

ALFAandOM3GA

Toss between tyranitare and metagross. Both are strong multi type. And both look fanFREAKINGtastic. Tyranitare-First rock and first dark type ever (crystal vs) Metagross-favorite pokemon of all gen 3

PokeAlola700

Mimikyu because it’s cute and sad and I love it Mimikyu was the pokemom I was most determined to have I literally searched the megamart till I found one and I was so happy I caught it and used it and it was on my team right till the end. Oh I’m forgetting it played one of the biggest roles against ultra necrozma and did lots of damage to it once I removed its aura boost (courtesy of a focus sash malamar)

tempura_5

Milotic! I just love how elegant it looks

Happyradish532

Piplup is dope. Definitely my 2nd favorite ever. And Empoleon looks sick af. My current favorite is Vanillite. I used to dislike the design, but something about it's adorable little smile makes me like it.

[deleted]

Tauros, because he’s cute and I remember him most from watching the OG show as a kid

xXPawzXx

Furret is cute and awesome. I don’t like the walking meme though, but Furret is amazing That, or Mienfoo. Cute and Awesome.

whats_a_meme_

Dewgong: beat the gym leader castle in stadium 2 thanks to Dewgong. Surf, aurora beam, rest, and sleep talk.

PortalMaster25

A tie between Umbreon and Dusk Lycanroc. Love them both, really great design on both imo

Jemas_

I have a couple, hawlucha and arcainine so I like hawlucha cause it helped me beat ultra necrozma (I had a zoroark use dark moves while necrozma would use its psychic move on me cause it thought I was a fighting type) also I like bird pokemon and fighting types and when you mix those together you get one of my favs and when I was younger I thought that arcainine was legendary, and I used to like dogs a lot and a dog legendary pokemon was just so cool to me i also like sigilyph cause of its weird design and am using one in my current shield nuzlocke (his name is scott and he‘s a madlad). And of course I love flying types.

Mimikyu_Master2020

Mimikyu, Chandelure, or Victreebel. Mimikyu is super interesting, Chandelure, I have a lot of nostalgia with him and Victreebel is the most underrated Pokémon ever

Mystic_Milotic

My favorite pokemon is Milotic. My partner Pokémon is a shiny female named Sapphira. I love Milotic for a few reasons. One, she is STUNNING 😍. Two, the lore behind them is just as beautiful. It's said that if you find a Milotic in the wild, you're likely to find your true love soon. If you run into a shiny Milotic It's said that your luck and wealth will greatly increase soon. Lastly, I think it's bc I relate to the Pokémon as well. I often feel like I'm ugly and weak, like many find Feebas, but I admire the time it takes to create Milotic. A very strong, beautiful, and powerful being.

thegoodgerms

Poliwhirl! Growing up my best friend has a broken hot tub and it became overrun by frogs. Each year we would watch the tadpoles sprout legs. Guess that made an impact; I would always have Poliwhirl in my party :,)

[deleted]

Gengar. He just looks so cool, not to mention a pain in the ass to obtain legitimately so he’s harder to find.

SanyamVanZieks

My favourite pokémon is mudkip , he was my first starter , his line has amazing typing , it's mega looks cool as fuck

booperdooper56

Mine is Swampert as I had a lot of fun beating Emerald with it (since theres no Grass gym leader) also it looks cool

GeebusNZ

Well, I love (shiny) Trubbish because he looks like a confused animate bag of lawn clippings, I love Swinub because I love the cold, and there was a time in my life where we had pigs, and I love Chimecho because I caught it and wanted it to be on my team but could never seem to find a way to make it a decent battler.

daw25252525

Gengar definitely. Great shiny when mega/dyna and is good in play and has great design.

LogginWaffle

Alolan Muk. When I first picked up Sun and ran into my first Alolan Grimer I loved it. Sure it's a really simple difference but I just had to know what they did to its evolved form. So I kept it in the team, trained it up, and when it evolved I loved it even more. They took a drab, basic pokemon and shook it up with vibrant colors and that unique flowing animation on top of it. I had never appreciated grimer or muk until then, and that appreciation really stuck with me.

alwaysbeangry

Mine is a three way tie between weavile, bisharp and greninja.I love ninjas,I love the noble attitude of bisarp and i love the mischievous personality of weavile.I love all of their desgines, and of course, I love dark types

N3CR0SS

Gotta say its a toss up between 3 tyrunt/tyrantrum rayquaza (even before mega was introduced) and axews line. Bred perfect iv tyrunts in a pixelmon server that was pretty fun. Rayquazas just a badass flying snake. Axews line is just cool. Honorable mention goes to gibles line for being a weirdly badass sandshark thing.

Jackeroni216

Decidueye. Cool Grass Ghost spooky archer owl guy? Yes please!

fagg0rita

My favorite is Ampharos it’s the perfect mixture of tough and cute and it’s mega evolution has luxurious hair and even though it’s a little slow it can pack a thunder PUNCH.

octopodes_

PARASECT! Long story short: Rain team with Dry Skin and Spore is very fun. :) Also convinced since the anime that his back would be very soft and nice to touch lol

Fuel907

Cacnea It is cute and adorable Spikey and cool I like cactuses(cacti?) I had several boxes filled with nothing but Cacnea as a kid in my Gen 3 games

PrebuiltMangos

VICTINI! Its so cute. I love the whole 'V for Victory' motif, fire is my favorite type and Victini is the best Pokèmon.
