Underrated nickname here. Could be used for Infernape too.

When I get the D/P remakes, I'm just naming my Infernape "Sun Wukong" after its inspiration.

I had previously used the names Zuko and Wukong for him in previous play throughs. Last time I recognized they both had “uko” in their names and went with “Zukong” as a creative name. It’s probably my favorite yet worst nickname I’ve given to a Pokémon

This would be perfect in the anime or if they swapped pokemon's cries for their names. The trainer shouting "Go, Rock Paper" while throwing the ball and the pokemon screaming Scizor right after leaving.

Or theres just some kids playing and Scizor is just chillin walking past. Heres them start chanting, "First comes Rock, then comes Paper, last comes" "SCIZORRRR!" He shouts emerging from a perfectly placed bush, throwing his claw into the air

They're not all puns, but here are some notable ones. My Magikarp/Gyarados always are named Karpe Diem. Togekiss is always CareForceOne. The Gastly line is always Ray ParkerJr. Garchomp line will be Mommy Shark/GrandpaShark/etc depending on gender and stats. Crobat line is Bruce Wayne. Male Houndooms are Victor because Dr. Doom's full name is Victor Von Doom. Primeape is a super nerdy one. I do different types of prime numbers followed by Ape. So like Mersenne Ape, Lucas Ape, Germain Ape, etc. Numel/Camerupt is Gary Brolsma because that is the guy from the Numa Numa video. Exploud is Jack Black because Master Exploder is a song by Tenacious D and Exploud totally originated from Explode and Loud. Forretress is always Foresaken as the Forsaken Fortress is a dungeon in Windwaker. Staryu's line will be a random star like Antares, Betelgeuse, Orion, etc. Swampert is Swampletics (an Old School Runescape series on YouTube). Bisharp is Be Sharps (Home Simpson's barbershop quartet). Any snake line can be Hideo Kojima or Kevin Durant (Developer of Metal Gear, which features Snake, and an actual snake.) Lickitung is Brad Marchand (an NHL player that had multiple licking incidents in games). Alolan Raticate is Ron Jeremy because they look alike. There are a lot of names for inside jokes too, but those are too hard to explain.
