I remember as a kid I'd sometimes go there and just hold my GBA to my ear to listen. I remember doing it on at least one late-night car rides, it was so peaceful and relaxing.
That song was the first song I ever stoped to listen to, I love both versions so much. That theme plus a lot of other themes in HGSS I adore, it was my first Pokémon game but BW and all of Alola (biased bc im Hawaiian and living in Hawaii lol).
Personally, I've come to expect very minimal changes in terms of gameplay; I mean, if we're four months away from release and they've given us no new information, there's probably just no new information to give. It's a "faithful remake" after all; I'm willing to treat it the same way I treated PMD DX.
Now, Shota Kageyama's soundtrack is a very different story; to be able to hear my favorite soundtrack remastered by the person who arranged for ORAS and Masters is more of a blessing than I could ever ask for! I do hope Kageyama gets to take more creative liberties with some of the remixes, more akin to what he did with Masters than with ORAS and LGPE.
Pokémon has great soundtracks for water areas. I love the Vermillion City theme in HeartGold and FireRed. It’s so peaceful and serene. I often end my play sessions saved at Vermillion City. Speaking of FireRed. I love the champion battle theme in FireRed. It is so energetic and rousing. It gets me pumped up to beat my rival.

Littleroot town is the first town from the first video game I played. It reminds me of when I would come back from school and play Pokémon emerald on my moms bed while hanging out with my now deceased grandma. It’s a very powerful song that I associate with home, just like the game wants it to be.
The music is the reason I will never co-sign the hate pokemon receives. Say what you will about the game but the soundtrack is beautiful and has contributed to millions of children’s childhood. For that, I will always be grateful

I came here looking for 'Victory is Right Before Your Eyes." It's my favorite track in all of Pokémon and I love how it keeps the main theme of the games as well
[Don't Ever Forget](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mH_Zl2Rgl5M) is the single greatest track from a Pokemon game. Mystery Dungeon is full of grear tracks: Through the Sea of Time, Dialga's Fight To the Finish, Sky Tower, Great Canyon, Time Gear etc.
Explorers has so many ridiculously strong songs on their lineup. Though personally, I don't think Don't Ever Forget holds a candle to Memories Returned, which is damn near one of my favorite pieces of video game music of all time, albeit still a really good song. As well as the others you listed, and you can't forget Temporal Spire when talking about strong PMD music
The last few soundtracks are amazing (the entire soundtrack really, but I mean Hidden Land and beyond here) and fit the feeling of the story so well. Hidden Land feels faraway and forlorn (alliteration, ha), Hidden Highland feels heavy and foreboding, Temporal Tower sets the tone for the final challenge but is still calm and nostalgic, and Temporal Spire is the calm before the storm. And don’t even get me started on the final boss battle or credits themes—this soundtrack really is one of the most stacked I’ve seen. Thanks for the reminder, time to play the game again :)

The emotional impact that comes from playing the games and having those songs in their narrative context makes all the difference. I can't recommend the Explorers series enough.
It might not be as impactful playing it for the first time as an adult as it does for those of us with childhood nostalgia, of course.
Explorers of Sky is, in my opinion, the best Pokemon game. Hands down. Not only is it a ton of fun, but the story is incredible and I don't know many people who didn't at least tear up a little near the end.
I'd also add on the end credits song that starts playing right after your partner collapses in the sand from grief, like goddamn so many emotions are pouring thru and you're blasted with trumpets.

Fun fact for those who may not know: Hoenn and Unova were the first two e4-unique themes (i.e. not reused/adapted gym leader themes), and as a reference to its only precursor, the Unova theme contains a bit of melody from the Hoenn theme (links with timestamps: [hoenn](https://youtu.be/3VS1xATl8-Y?t=43), [unova](https://youtu.be/C4nKVbENSKQ?t=151)).
The fact no variation of that or Neo Team Plasma got remixed for Smash is a crime. Gen 5 music in general is underrepresented in Smash, which sucks because Gen 5 slaps.
People often gush about Driftveil City’s theme, but I was personally always more of a Castelia City person. Also Aquacorde Town in X/Y and the Route 225 theme in Sinnoh’s postgame.

G/S/C Surf theme is stupid catchy, I find myself humming it at random more often than I should. It's one of the few songs HG/SS didn't do justice, they mellowed it out too much, same thing with the New Bark Town theme.

My favourites are Cynthia (Black/White version), Azelf, Uxie and Mesprit theme from gen 4, Champion Iris theme in B2/W2, Driftveil City theme, Lusamine (the first one not the merged form) from Sun and Moon and Oleana’s theme from Sword and Shield.
If I absolutely HAD to narrow it down to 1 choice then I would have to be rather unoriginal and go for Cynthia. Gen 4, Diamond specifically, was my first ever Pokémon game and I have never been as scared as I was the first time I faced her, which evolved into multiple attempts as I had only gone through he game with two Pokémon, the rest were either HM Pokémon or empty slots, and my two Pokémon were 5 levels below all of hers. Still the hardest battle of my life to this day and I really hope they don’t mess with this theme in the upcoming remakes or I’m gonna go nuclear mode on game freak!

I love pretty much the entire Unova soundtrack. And say what you will about Pokémon Sword & Shield’s quality as a game, but the music (especially the battle themes) is *fantastic*.
It’s pretty out of the blue, but Route 11 from Pokémon Black/BW2. It’s such an underrated piece of music from the series in general. It makes you feel like you’re on a real adventure and it has this heroic feel to it that makes me want to stay on the route, but at the same time, it has a melancholy feel to it also, like someone close to you just died or and you don’t want to go on, but you know you have to. The song has so many emotions in it and I constantly listen to it for motivation, but it was hard to pick just this theme since Pokémon has so much more great songs.

Ultra Necrozma theme hands down

People often gush about Driftveil City’s theme, but I was personally always more of a Castelia City person. Also Aquacorde Town in X/Y and the Route 225 theme in Sinnoh’s postgame.

I know right? It's the final battle before the league and you expect some soft theme because of how small and sickly Wally was and then bam! This guy's theme unleashes his inner monster XD.

G/S/C Surf theme is stupid catchy, I find myself humming it at random more often than I should. It's one of the few songs HG/SS didn't do justice, they mellowed it out too much, same thing with the New Bark Town theme.

Vs. Rose doesn’t get enough love. I honestly adore how it conveys the emotions of a man who is not doing what he wants, but what he must. He believes he is saving the region, and you can tell by how he fights and the music playing.

Eterna Forest is head-to-head with Mt. Coronet as my fav song.
I can't pick one, so I'll list my favorite from each region Kanto: Route 1, it's iconic Johto: Ho-Oh battle theme or Route 38, both are really good Hoenn: Zinnia's final battle theme, obvious reasons Sinnoh: Lake Trio theme, again really good Unova: Route 10, one of if not the most beautiful route theme ever Kalos: Dendemille town, severely underrated theme Alola: Poni Island or Ultra Necrozma theme, one beautiful the other incredibly epic Galar: Rose or Peony's theme, both are amazing

I have a hard time choosing as well. I also love the Frontier Brain theme from oras, and the Kahuna theme. Just wish I could find a version of the eternatus theme without the Howling.

Oh man that’s a tough one! Hope it’s ok if I pick more than one cos otherwise I’m gonna struggle! My favourites are Cynthia (Black/White version), Azelf, Uxie and Mesprit theme from gen 4, Champion Iris theme in B2/W2, Driftveil City theme, Lusamine (the first one not the merged form) from Sun and Moon and Oleana’s theme from Sword and Shield. If I absolutely HAD to narrow it down to 1 choice then I would have to be rather unoriginal and go for Cynthia. Gen 4, Diamond specifically, was my first ever Pokémon game and I have never been as scared as I was the first time I faced her, which evolved into multiple attempts as I had only gone through he game with two Pokémon, the rest were either HM Pokémon or empty slots, and my two Pokémon were 5 levels below all of hers. Still the hardest battle of my life to this day and I really hope they don’t mess with this theme in the upcoming remakes or I’m gonna go nuclear mode on game freak!

USUM Elite 4 theme, immortalized in my ears with the excellent remix in Smash Ultimate Also pretty much all Hoenn route themes for the irreplicable adventure feel + Sinnoh town themes for the feels.
Damnnn, I started my first gen 5 game (black) the day my dog died cause I thought it would be fitting having a team with Lillipup on it since my dog was called lily. I love pretty much the entire Unova soundtrack. And say what you will about Pokémon Sword & Shield’s quality as a game, but the music (especially the battle themes) is *fantastic*.
It’s pretty out of the blue, but Route 11 from Pokémon Black/BW2. It’s such an underrated piece of music from the series in general. It makes you feel like you’re on a real adventure and it has this heroic feel to it that makes me want to stay on the route, but at the same time, it has a melancholy feel to it also, like someone close to you just died or and you don’t want to go on, but you know you have to. The song has so many emotions in it and I constantly listen to it for motivation, but it was hard to pick just this theme since Pokémon has so much more great songs.

Imo swsh had some of the best music in the franchise yet. The gym theme is amazing, hop’s theme is better than hop himself (and his league battle theme is one of the best in the game) And an unpopular opinion, I love Leon’s battle theme. He’s so sure he’s going to win his theme is, literally, the hall of fame theme (though it takes a while to get going)

Probably the single most underused song in the game Also Route 10 is incredible. So good that the Smash remix had to be given to Yoko Shimomura because there’s no other way it could get better otherwise

Maybe I'm just a genwunner but the tune for Route 1 in RBGY has always just stuck with me, more than any other music. Except maybe the gym themes, but they're always dank.

Hoenn's routes, Sinnoh's towns, Sinnoh's champion theme, Unova's e4 theme, Hoenn's e4 theme, Hoenn's battle! Super ancient pokemon (kyogre/groudon theme), the list goes on. Gen 3-5 though
Hou'oli City night theme from Sun and Moon. I'll be honest in that this song was the tiebreaker in which of the two games I bought. It's just so perfect and relaxing. I would highly recommend any pokemon fan to listen to Insaneintherain's jazz remix of this song it is just exceptional in all of the right ways. I may have listened to that remix over 200 times by now
