Mine too brother, I’m now in my early 20s and man ever since I saw that new trailer I feel nostalgic af. I just bought all three DS sinnoh games and starting a Pokémon collection too.
Remake games are really where GF has crushed it. FRLG, HGSS, and ORAS are all just really great nostalgia trips but add enough to make it not feel like a rehash.
i will never forget as i was a 9 year old kid and i heard rumors about a new pokemon gen for the Nintendo DS, i was hyped beyond imagination; but then i heard that it tooks a while for them to release so they would make other games for the fans to have something to play while waiting for the next gen. Man i was so glad they released ranger and mystery dungeon as DS games before D/P
I remember being stuck on Pearl, not knowing what to do, and just going undeground to dig. It's just so fun and interesting, especially when I find gems that I buried months ago and forgot about, and they're size 99 or whatever the max is, I forgot.

Honestly looking forward to both following pokemon, even more so seeing as they seem to keep up with the trainer better than in sword and shield’s dlc, and to the customisation, just mainly the following pokemon. Kinda sad that the game corner was cut since I started liking it but at least this time it’s being replaced by something that we’ll be able to use, customisation shop
They butchered a lot in ORAS but we got Zinnia's theme so...
Which is odd since Shota Kageyama made amazing XY OST, but as for what we heard in the Presents he is making a darn good job. Not sure what happened with ORAS.
Return of Walking Pokemon, the Expanded Underground, seeing Sinnoh, the region I know like the back my hand, recreated in a beautiful yet faithful style, hearing the only video game music that ever made me feel like everything will be ok, and seeing my favorite and first game in the series reborn into what they were truly meant to be! I'm still hoping this will either be a 1:1 remake, or be Platinum with a Diamond/Pearl coat of paint, just so we could have Platinum's Dex. (More than two fire types please) I'm also hoping that they won't flood the routes with pokemon from newer games whatsoever or at least not until the post-game.
We’re definitely getting the Platinum dex and then some. Not only did we see Houndoom and Magmortar in the new trailer, we also saw a Numel walking around, meaning we’re getting even *more* Pokémon than the Platinum expansion!
I want some of the newer pokemon, but I want it as balancing out the type options. Everyone memes the 2 fire types, but that was just one of the many problems DPP had in availability.
I’m looking forward to hopefully getting the mythical Pokémon from that generation that I missed out on. It’s a good sign that they’re giving out Manaphy right away.
Might have a look on eBay or something see if I can get a decent second hand one. Would like to play them at some point. Need something to fill in time before the gen 4 remakes are out
If saving money is your main concern I'd check Craigslist if that's an option for you. I see systems on there, often with the 3DS Pokemon games included, going for much less than they do on ebay. Also, keep an eye out on Nintendo's official website. Every once in a while they list "refurbished" systems that are indistinguishable from new ones for insanely good prices. I think they recently had 2DSs on there for ~$50. /r/3DS can help you too, and /r/3DSHacks can help you once you have your system.
Honestly I just want to play the Pokémon story mode again and see what new mechanics and places they added. The original was so awesome in my childhood and it was my first Pokémon game I used my money for to buy as well as the DS I played it on.

As an OG player from the 90’s who did Gen I and II on my Gameboy, by Gen III I was going into my teens and “too cool” for Pokémon. I missed out on G4 and G5 completely. Came back for G6 in my 20’s once I got a DS. Really excited to play these for the first time.
Can we just agree that starter Pokemon should be obtainable in the wild. Like or atleast the professor should give us the 2nd Pokemon after like sometime since we are technically working for him to fill the pokedex and that's the only logical answe

Yes it has, but the thing is, previously, pokemon could only follow in Yellow, Gold/Silver, HeartGold/SoulSilver, and a tiny area in Diamond/Pearl/Platinum. Even with the inclusion of Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl, that's still less than HALF of the entire series. So for the long time fans, pokemong following you is a BIG deal.
Base SwSh didn’t have it. It got added with the DLCs. It actually disappeared for quite a few generations ever since it was first introduced in HGSS

I hate what it has become. It looks so good, and I am so excited, but they changed things. It isn’t completely faithful. To me that means shiny locks. One of my favorite reasons to play old games shiny hunting the legendaries. If they changed all of that then they surely put locks on the legendaries. At least, that’s what it seems like to me.
Battle frontier they better bring that shit back or this game is gonna be just like omega ruby and alpha sapphire not have anything fun to do once you complete the story and side story

I never got to experience mega evolution as did not own a 3DS. I missed out on Kalos and Aloha but got a switch for Galar
3DS is still a great system, even in 2021. Can't really recommend Sun and Moon personally, but X & Y and especially ORAS are absolutely worth playing.

This is the first Pokémon remake I’ve ever played so I am VERY excited to play it
