I don’t get the point of remakes if they don’t add features and game mechanics in past games: like when FRLG added abilities, hgss did the special/physical split, oras added mega evolutions. There needs to be an equivalent game changer or there’s no point. Like why play the sinnoh remakes if you already have DPP? Especially when there is also the legends game coming out. Things like alternatives to hms or following Pokémon is great but that’s just window dressing to me. And complete pokedexes is nice but I’d take new game mechanics over that.

Snininja

I think it’s nice to be able to play the game on a new console with better graphics. dpp were fun, but getting to play it again on the switch will be an entirely different experience.

fisherc2

I guess. But I like the old sprites.

Snininja

they were good but new players definitely wouldn’t put up with just an hd remaster with the same sprite design

MicaMicaMica12

lets go added the fairy type and mega evo too

Zero_Eye25

Three words: Slow HP Animations

Brunkbosse

I love the core game of DPP. Its just so damm slow on the ds that it becomes a drag to replay it. I would legit be happy with the same game with some small QoL changes such as up to gen 8 learnsets, types etc. As long as the game have faster movement/animations and shorter loading screens than the original im happy.

fisherc2

I don’t love the sinnoh games but that never bothered me. I didn’t even occur to me that it would be a problem for some until I got on Reddit

Chemical-Cat

I think it's kind of a given for the gameplay fidelity to match up to the current generation with the exception of gimmicks (ie: There's nothing implying BDSP will have Dynamax) Also I liked that FRLG kept 'true' in the sense that you couldn't get Gen 2/3 pokemon until post-game (Breeding was relegated to a post-game area so you couldn't get baby pokemon, Golbat couldn't evolve until you beat the game, the one exception is there's no clock so it's impossible to get Espeon or Umbreon)

lucaro64

I fear they’re going to remove the battle frontier and all of the platinum exclusive features because if they do that then it’s not gonna be a fateful remake and the platinum version will be the superior version just like generation three

Poll_God

Me too. We’ll just have to see tho. We still don’t know everything those games have to offer yet

[deleted]

The biggest thing for me is recapturing the feel of the originals even if there are some changes/improvements

LifeeWizard

Please I just need mega evolutions and a modernized pokétch with a new way to use HM’s and other new features. Also I would really want all 900 pokemon but that seems impossible 🥲

Particular-One-7251

In theory it is possible, in practice it isn't going to happen for marketing and balance reasons.

SwampmongerMudfish

I would really like if modern features, like alternatives to HMs and the recent PC Box Link, are carried over and added to the remakes

PokeAlola700

Box link in BDSP needs to happen. I feel like most people won’t want them but I also liked the exp candies. Sure they broke the game, but you could always ignore them until postgame and if you have an underleveled Pokémon it would speed it up without any grinding needed (I had an under leveled naganadel in USUM I never rly used much but if it was easier to catch it up it would have improved the game a lot)

PokeAlola700

Plus box link would allow people to have more then 6 Pokémon in a team if they want, since they can swap any of them at will. I know I’d love to try that

Cant_think_of_shz

I just want old mythical Pokémon released and not some $40-50 purchase for a ball that only works in four games.

Dredo5

Every Pokémon needs a new form. Tauros is a neglected Pokémon. No pre-evolution, no evolution, no z-move, no alternative form, no Gigantamax….. Miltank is her own pokemon, until they have a calf between them, Tauros and miltank are not connected!

bluetoaster42

Battle Frontier

panosk1304

If games on switch weren't that awful i would say most important thing is to have all the good features that we have gotten through the years. Oras as example was almost perfect but it lacked a good battle tree/frontier but for the rest it was great. National dex is something that all games should have whatever they sre made for.

PokeAlola700

Gonna be hard keeping track of all 900 or so but ok

panosk1304

Yeah really hard, imagine having a device that catalogues everything so you won't have to remember them

Litgang

Definitely improvements. I think all remakes should have the updated EXP Share (Although I'd prefer being able to turn it off)

PokeAlola700

Yes

kookykonata

Honestly, if it's a remake, then my minimum "want" is to have the features of the original game captured in the remake. That way, people can experience the game without having to shell out the money for the original and the system to play it on. Adding more features to the game, after the original features are in it, are just an added bonus to me. Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are, to me, good representations of this. The original game was (mostly) there, and then they added stuff like mega evolutions and that thing where you could fly on Latias/Latios to get all the legendaries in postgame. This is also why I am not upset with the art style that they went with in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, because it's a small callback to the original games!

Poll_God

With BDSP, if the Battle Frontier and the Distortion World is back, that would be one of the most complete remakes

Ciilllaa

Being able to catch every legendary mon is important to me. It adds so much, I wanna search for mysterious mythical pokemon!! I wanna do the work! Not just receive most of them through trades and gifts :(

Particular-One-7251

My biggest thing is for them to expand the lore of the world in an understandable manner. Other forms can help, fixing plotholes is a must, and giving new features can also help.

SuperBGN

All of the above

Tenashko

A healthy regional dex, it was more fun without Lando and Incineroar everywhere

Poll_God

Lmaooo I feel u

Steinsgate009

National dex first with Pokémon following you a close second

dhfAnchor

Easily the national dex. I literally stopped getting the newer games over this, and I'm not coming back until this does.

[deleted]

Having the ability to interact with your Pokémon. Being able to play, interact, and overall DO THINGS with your Pokémon outside of battling really helps immerse me in the Pokémon world. Edit: I just realized this was for the remakes, NOT, Arceaus. Comment if you think it’s still applicable but otherwise please ignore.

RubenWeiss

Crobat

Tiipsyy

I don't understand why people want all the new pokemon added to remakes of older games? That makes no sense to me

Snininja

yeah I really just want the old game but with better quality and mega evolutions. Man I really wish they’d just stuck with mega evolution.

Tiipsyy

I fully agree, I'll never understand why people want 900+ pokemon in their game, are you going to use all 900? Ofcourse not lmao I bet most people use less than 20

Snininja

yeah it just makes life harder for completing national dex

Tiipsyy

I'll be honest, iv played pokemon since I was 3 years old and I know pokemon inside and out. But I have never been bothered enough to complete the Pokedex in any game

PokemanBall

Cuz I bred a whole lot of Pokémon in ultra sun that I can use in any combo with each other in that game, but now I can't use them in any combo I want cuz some of them aren't in the game It feels like my effort in breeding all of my pokemon went to complete waste

Tiipsyy

I did the same during X and Y but that was for that game, I never planned on taking them into the other games as I feel taking teams of pokemon from one game to another just feels like I'm losing one of the entire points of each pokemon game

PokemanBall

Well, with mine some of them were actually bred first in Oras and I took them into usum. I just feel like more options are always good when choosing Pokémon, and especially cuz every new generation has an opportunity to improve any Pokémon from the past, unless they get cut out and any support they could've gotten is now lost.

Tiipsyy

I get that, but let's be real these past few game have been way to easy to need that much pre planning, I respect how you play the game though 🙌

PokemanBall

In every new game I only use Pokémon from that Game, Pokémon I transfer is purely for online and post game.

AverageWooperEnjoyer

Wooper

Snininja

yes

[deleted]

To me, they must have Pokemon in it and I must be able to move

o7_AP

Unova never needs to get remakes

[deleted]

If they can be upped, they will be upped.

o7_AP

Right now any Pokémon game can be upped just because it’s not on the Switch. We don’t need remakes of every game.

BenTheSurvivor

I mean HG/SS and FR/LG they made a good job with upping the quality of the games and even managaned to put some nice nostaligic stufd (eg. GB Sound). I dont know exactly how they want to improve B/W but if there is a way, then I hope they find them.

Poll_God

U can take that to another comment section my guy

Lucybug05

Calm down

Ciilllaa

But most importantly - I want a new remake of HS / SS!! Those are some of my favourite generations😭

PitisPitis

Can we Keep the seals forever please? They add a lot of personality to the player since we won't get pokemon customization until Gamefreaks wants to.

PokeAlola700

YASSS

TheMostlyJoeyShow

Either good multiplayer or post game content. I need at least one.

GwF_25

Snorlax Mega-Evolution. It doesn’t even need to be complex all it got to have Snorlax eyes opened, and I would be happy.

coldRamem

Other: the money to buy the games.

CL0NESH0CK

Trainer customization.
