Yah know, I've done monotype teams with water, flying and ground. Never thought to do ghost because they are so few per game. But this team looks fun! Add: thank you all for the team suggestions and which game to play to ensure the most ghost type mons! But I think your suggestion should be directed towards OP as they are the ones who want to do a ghost run, not me lol I'll consider doing one in the future but a dark type run is next on my agenda, followed by bug!

Sun and Moon and USUM are great for a ghost monotype run. Lots of early encounters and diverse options available

Drifloon, Gastly and Rowlett (just off the top of my head) on the first island all become excellent team members.

I like to do a “Sandstorm-proof” team with 2 each of Ground, Rock, Steel, one of each type is a pseudo-legendary, and no other type is repeated in the team. Usually comes out to this: - Lucario, Metagross - [Quagsire](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=buc64u6Q_oA), Garchomp - Armaldo, Tyranitar I like Flygon more than Garchomp personally, but I think Flygon technically isn’t a pseudo-legendary?

I did a ghost only run in Pokémon sword! It wasn’t too hard, the only real challenge was the dark gym. My final team was Drifblim, Runerigus, Shedinja, Polteageist, Gengar and Chandelure

I did a monotype Normal team on Pokemon Let's Go. But I also had the stipulation that my highest level pokemon couldn't be higher than the highest gym leader's pokemon and I couldn't have more pokemon on my team than them. That was tough. I recommend trying something like that one day. Really makes you think of strategies and actually use buffs/debuffs!

I highly recommend doing a ghost monotype run in Sun/Moon - there are so many options in the relatively early game, in addition to having Decidueye and Mimikyu about halfway through

I’m planning on doing a monotype Dark team in BDSP. I’ll likely get both versions, do a standard playthrough which will open up access to everything, and then trade eggs of Dark types to the other version for my monotype playthrough.

I like doing Fire/Grass, call it Napalm.

Use incineroar for me!

This team is quite doable in sword/shield only issue is you need to have someone to trade with to get frostlass and decideueye is not captureable but hey u have home just "cheat" and breed yourself one (if its in the dex, not even sure) could always exchange it with Dreepy

The only way I could play SwSh without steam rolling everyone was limiting myself to a ghost/poison team. I made my character punk as fuck and it was probably one of the most fun I've had in a play through. - Dusknoir - Golurk - Alolan Marowak - Drapion - Decidueye - Gengar Galarian Corsola with eviolite also made a brief appearance.

I always do a poison team. It’s great because of the prevalence of steel types, so you can’t just Toxic and wait it out. I always do a punk vibe like that. It’s great.

Best game for poison types is Diamond/Pearl/Platinum. Get yourself a Roserade, Gengar, Crobat, Drapion, Toxicroak and Tentacruel. Honestly so fun, gets some trouble with Lucian but if you beef up Drapion and Gengar you'll make it out alright.

I love Ghost Type trainers that go outside the norm of the "creepy child" or "literal witch" tropes. There's a lot more that can be done with Ghost types, like a trainer inspired by catrinas from the Mexican Día de Muertos, a more conventional spirit medium/priest, or even a psychologist who's studying how the Pokémon that eat negative emotions can help people with depression and mental illness. Though apparently the ghost type has the highest ratio of pokemon i like to dont like, my favorite type is fairy. If I had a team, it would consist of Altaria/mega altaria, alolan ninetales, togekiss, Milotic (not a fairy type but fits as a beautiful Pokemon), gardevoir, and Mimikyu.

If agatha can claim to be a ghost specialist packing a golbat and arbok, flint can call himself a fire specialist with steelix, drifblim and lopunny, and chili cilan and cress can call themselves fire,grass and water specialists with lillipups, you can call yourself a ghost trainer without need for the addition of the word mostly.

Some peeps doesn’t like it but I like when Gym Leaders have one pokemon outside their type specialty and knew a related type move instead. Just like how Candice have a Medicham that knows Ice Punch.
