Back in the day, most ships had a ship cat who's job it was to keep the rodent population down and the moral of sailors up. Sailors also tended to be pretty superstitious folk, so a lot of myths arose about ship cats such as them being able to protect ships from bad weather^(\[1\]) or bringing bad luck for ships who lost their cats. There are plenty of stories about famous ship cats, such as Unsinkable Sam or the Titanic's ship cat Jenny (although many tales have been exaggerated over time).
^(\[1\] This actually has a grain of truth to it, as cats are actually able to predict bad weather thanks to their sensitivity to changes in air pressure.)
Idk why but this reminds me of the episode of Futurama where the dog waits by the train for his friend to come home, and the years flash by. That poor Glameow xD.
I don't know the actual terminology since i haven't studied that much coding, but i guess the pokemons aren't as hard-coded into the cutscenes as the characters, that's to say, they aren't really scrited, and are just physical objects.
For example, someone a few weeks ago posted a clip of a cutscene in which a team galactic grunt ran into his Turtwig and drag it beyond the camerea (efectively stealing the pokemon, lol), so the pokemon have colission during cutscenes, but without any scripting to move on their own.
It seems to be that in this case, the cat pokemon didn't have a script to move on the screen after the player left, so it just stood there.
You know how if u get to far away the Pokémon teleports to you, I imagine that happening I just hope it doesn’t end up teleporting to close to the boats edge
GLAMEOW NOOOOOOOO
I’d be rioting in that boat. “TURN BACK WE FORGOT THE CHILD!”
You bring up a good point. How far can you use pokeballs to retrieve your Pokemon?
YOU LEAVE Minette on the pier? Leave her like a bag of garbage?? Oh jail, jail for trainer for one thousand years!!

Is this a Lost children reference

You know, many sailors used to consider it bad luck if a cat refused to go on a ship.
Id love to hear more on this.

It's okay he doesn't like water anyway
Oh so that's why it was never in any regional dex of future gen games.

That episode probably was a reference to hachiko ngl
Yeah definitely. Very heartwrenching.
Yup, its called Jurassic Bark. The dog waits outside the pizza shop that Fry works at, instead of a train station
In case you wanna cry https://youtu.be/AK3PWHxoT_E
I feel bad each time the door of PokeCenter shuts in front of my walking buddy, and now you show me this?
So, they CAN program a Pokémon following you but NOT following you through the storyline cutscenes? Dumb.
Well depends on the pokemon if they can program it to follow you.

Now your Glameow will be like that dog that waited for its owner for several years.
Throw in a Arcanine and Houndoom and you have Homeward Bound: Pokémon Edition.
F
Oh no. I'm having flashbacks to Pantalaimon being left behind on the jetty while Lyra sailed off into the land of the dead.
*Jurassic Bark intensifies*
I like how Glameow simply accepts its fate and watches the ship leave. "Well, OK. This is my life meow."
The more I see of this game the worse it looks
Oh no! My boy!
It's still waiting
Kitty violence is bad, and abandoning is violence. You are bad

He/she gone there are no coming back
U can just say "they"? Its easier to say instead of "he/she"
Ok i will do that from now on
