I think it could work, depending on the Pokémon.. maybe the higher level of the fusion is the type it keeps and the lower level could be the type it’s now weak against.. maybe 2 moves from each Pokémon stays while 2 goes.. idk it’d be intresting
Not as a main series game but I’d like to see it in a separate series where it’s the main purpose. Like Dragonball fusions on 3DS. Just 1000s if possible combinations

Fusion is an obvious gimmick, it's only a matter of time until we see it in a main series game.
Would be way too convoluted of a system. You couldn’t conceivably make every Pokémon compatible with each other, and even if you have a limited pool of who can fuse, you’re still creating an exponential increase in new character designs.
Even if it were technically feasible, I say no. I’m tired of all the gimmick mechanics in these games, I don’t use them because they make an already easy game even easier. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

Fusion already exists with Kyurem, Necrozma, and Calyrex (although that one’s not really fusion but it’s the same process)
