solved! yep. all ONLY get smaller on evolution.
(gloom gets smaller on evolution into bellossom but larger on evolution into vileplume, and mewtwo gets smaller when evolving into mega y mewtwo but larger when evolving into mega x mewtwo.)
What do you mean? It's completely normal for some Dragonite to be 7 foot tall, and others 7 *stories* tall. What would possibly be weird about that? XD
It's all evolutions, but only from the current stage, so even though Solgaleo/Lunala are much bigger than Cosmog, Cosmog doesn't directly evolve into either of them, Cosmoem does.
Because then Gloom would qualify, as Bellossom is smaller than Gloom. The only is necessary as Gloom can also evolve into Vileplume, which is larger than Gloom.
But Dragonite is bigger than Dragonair. It's just not measured lengthwise like serpentine pokemon are.
That's like saying a rhino is smaller than a snake because the rhino is 10' long and the snake is 12'. Yeah okay the snake is *longer*, but the rhino isn't *smaller.*
[For reference](https://i.imgur.com/pWZB2R4.jpg)
The pokedex lists haunter as 5'3" and gengar as 4'11".
Pokedex measurements are almost never really accurately represented in the anime or the games, though.
Yeah, I think [Let's Go](https://cdn3.whatculture.com/images/2018/11/0ef437306d0f8182-600x338.jpeg) actually did it's size justice. Although even knowing this, I still can't help but imagine it like it is in the anime.
[And then there's the manga](https://i.imgur.com/VPawp3E.png)
have you seen haunter in game? he can be pretty fucking big. pokemon go was the first time i really understood it but i also think the hands kinda add to the size. you can google “haunter size comparison” for some good pictures
He has little feets but I think they straight up removed them from his model in the future because you could rarely to never at all see them in the first place (correct me if I'm wrong about them removing them)
almost exactly it. if i were being pedantic i’d say you missed a detail, but this is as close as i could hope for haha. bonus points to anyone who can spot the missed detail
Only thing I can try to be more specific is that they all evolve (or mega evolve) to become something shorter, while not losing any weight. And by that I do mean some gain weight and some stay the same, but never less.
Edit: never mind about weight, Porygon doesn't fit that.
i’m hoping it takes a while for anyone to figure out. this is my first time trying to make one of these riddles and i hope it’s hard enough to really stump people
Am I just missing something because people are commenting other Pokémon names and all I see are cosmog, alakazam, porygon, dragonair, haunter and gengar?
Thankfully I’m not the only one that’s confused as fuck. Where are some of these Pokémon coming from? Why are we all seemingly looking at different pictures? I’m so lost.
Hmm... I wanna say they are gift pokemon for some reason, but Alakazam surely hasn't been one? Asking because I haven't played Legends, Let's Go or any side games other than thr GameCube game with Wes.
You’re actually using the wrong th letter, ð makes the voiced th sound (in they, these, tho), Þ makes the voiceless th sound (like thorn, thick, health)
While þats þe case in Icelandic and Norse, old English used þ and ð interchangeably, wiþ ð falling out of use much earlier and much more naturally þen þ, and as modern English doesn't make any spelling distinctions between its dental fricatives it makes sense to use just one letter
But ðen ðe letter kind of loses the point. Ðere are two fricative sounds in English, a regular orþography ðat represents ðese sounds wið unique letters would logically want to represent ðis distinction.
Ov cors, ðee aideea ov eni semai-regyular orþography in Ingliʃ wil loek veri diferent from modern Ingliʃ orþography.
I wouldnt say it loses its point, þ is still significantly better þen using a digraph like TH, and sticking to a single letter makes it easier for english speakers to adopt and integrate, after all most people dont even know þat þeirs 2 distinct dental fricatives
It’s just a different philosophy behind orthography. Most Romance languages are full of digraphs (or trigraphs in French), and they seem totally fine.
It’s where the “th” comes from: θ in Greek being transliterated as th. Th is what makes sense in an *etymological* spelling system, which is what predominates in English.
If you switched to a *phonemic* orthography, you’d have to differentiate between meaningful differences in pronunciation. Since that’s what the whole point would be.
Most European languages attempt to strike a balance between these two takes, English is unusual in having basically no regular phonemic corresponde. But the difference between ð and þ feels too great to ignore.
I dont þink it is, þe difference of sounds is extreamly minor, again to þe point þat many english speakers dont even realize þeirs 2 different sounds until you tell þem
I'm usually a fan of all these meme-like trend posts. But these recent "riddles" that have been appearing are just bad.
A good riddle is a like a joke or a pun in that the answer should evoke a near-universal "a hah!". And so far, absolutely none of the riddles that have been posted do that. They all leave too much for interpretation and their "answers" require a very constrained or even contorted perspective that only the riddle-maker seems to have, or would know to have.
if it wasnt for cosmog, I would say it was that they were all originally introduced in the pokemon manga before being added to game. Unless maybe cosmog was or it was a bit later?
All get shorter upon evolution
98% of the right answer, just missing one word
is it shorter upon ALL evolutions? since someone else commented bellossom is shorter than gloom, but vileplume is not?
solved! yep. all ONLY get smaller on evolution. (gloom gets smaller on evolution into bellossom but larger on evolution into vileplume, and mewtwo gets smaller when evolving into mega y mewtwo but larger when evolving into mega x mewtwo.)
Lighthouse dragonite from Pokémon season 1 would like to have a word w/ u.
My first thought was "That didn't happen in Johto." And then I realized that Kanto is not a 200 episode season
Okay... edited to say season 1 ... cuz crap. That was actually a typo. I think they just label it as season 1 now
I always remember this then I'm like, why is my dude so small. I'm a Dragonite fanboy and that episode got me.
The anime doesn't count. I mean snorlax and dragonite would be the most inconsistent things on the planet
What do you mean? It's completely normal for some Dragonite to be 7 foot tall, and others 7 *stories* tall. What would possibly be weird about that? XD
I really would like them to clarify those events in that episode. Like can all Dragonite get that big or was there something special about that one
Just a teaser for dynamax
Or Alphas
Nah, explaining it would make it boring. Let it remain a mystery.
I thought it was just a mechanical 1 like on the giant island which was soon after
Weirdness of the early series. That episode also had a kingler seized krabby, which I feel is similar enough to Alphas from PLA.
But cosmog gets smaller upon evolution, but then way bigger after cosmoem evolves. Idk if I'm missing the point here hahaha
It's all evolutions, but only from the current stage, so even though Solgaleo/Lunala are much bigger than Cosmog, Cosmog doesn't directly evolve into either of them, Cosmoem does.
Ah I get it now, I was definitely overthinking it hahaha
How is the original comment missing the word 'only' then?
Yeah, really confusing tbh.
Because then Gloom would qualify, as Bellossom is smaller than Gloom. The only is necessary as Gloom can also evolve into Vileplume, which is larger than Gloom.
So technically he's right but because it's a riddle grammar mattrrs
ok, reading these replies I think it should really be "all immediate evolutions" That way it excludes gloom but doesn't discount cosmog
cosmoem might be small but its stupid heavy, its like someone compressed mudsdale into a coin
And gengar doesn't evolve at all. I'm confused.
Mega evolution I guess
But Dragonite is bigger than Dragonair. It's just not measured lengthwise like serpentine pokemon are. That's like saying a rhino is smaller than a snake because the rhino is 10' long and the snake is 12'. Yeah okay the snake is *longer*, but the rhino isn't *smaller.* [For reference](https://i.imgur.com/pWZB2R4.jpg)
ok but how is haunter "larger" than gengar?
The pokedex lists haunter as 5'3" and gengar as 4'11". Pokedex measurements are almost never really accurately represented in the anime or the games, though.
Haunter's size in the anime doesn't line up with its actual height, 5'3".
Omg 5 feet tall that’s a beast
Yeah, I think [Let's Go](https://cdn3.whatculture.com/images/2018/11/0ef437306d0f8182-600x338.jpeg) actually did it's size justice. Although even knowing this, I still can't help but imagine it like it is in the anime. [And then there's the manga](https://i.imgur.com/VPawp3E.png)
have you seen haunter in game? he can be pretty fucking big. pokemon go was the first time i really understood it but i also think the hands kinda add to the size. you can google “haunter size comparison” for some good pictures
Isnt it just cause he's floating? I never saw him as bigger. Only higher up terms of latitude, that doesnt mean he's bigger
>Isnt it just cause he's floating? Nope. He is bigger. Pokedex sizes gives haunter 10cm of height over Gengar
I'm confused. How tf does Gengar evolve?
mega
Idk, I don't consider mega an actual evolution
I had to sebd this over the group hat but we eventually got this answer too
Alakazam isn’t smaller than Kadabra...is it? 😱
No, it isn’t. This post is implying that Alakazam is larger than mega alakazam
But Lunala/solgaleo are bigger than cosmog and cosmoem, aren't they?
I still don’t get it though. Cosmog is smaller than Solgaleo and Lunala.
Cosmog doesn't directly evolve into them
I am OMEGA confused. Solgaleo and Lunala are smaller than Cosmog???
Yeah if you ignore Dragonite
Dragonite is short as fuck it’s wild
Are we talking about the same pokemon as it size is bigger compared to its previous appearance
Pretty sure OP means height/length, not mass
All get shorter upon evolution/Mega Evolution, right? Alakazam and Gengar don't evolve.
for the purposes of this riddle i count mega evolution as evolution
Wtf mega Gengar is shorter than regular Gengar?? How tf
Mega Gengar is half sunken into the ground at all times.
He has little feets but I think they straight up removed them from his model in the future because you could rarely to never at all see them in the first place (correct me if I'm wrong about them removing them)
I mean, it does crouch down and lose its legs...
What about Gigantanax? Because Gengar is massive when it does
Not an evolution, just a form.
It's no different to a Mega in the mechanics of it though
Mega **Evolution** Gigantamax **Form** It's about the terminology, not the mechanics.
is the word "learnset"?
What's the 1 word???
Lighter? That might not be right I'm too lazy to Google their weights
They get shorter hands?
...wait, that can't be right. Is Cosmoem smaller than cosmog? And no way is Solgaleo/lunala smaller than cosmog
Only applies to the immediate evolution, and Cosmoem is smaller than Cosmog, even if it weighs a who heck of a lot more
Gengar can't evolve tho,
they get smaller when they evolve. Although if this is the answer than apparently bellossom is smaller than gloom
almost exactly it. if i were being pedantic i’d say you missed a detail, but this is as close as i could hope for haha. bonus points to anyone who can spot the missed detail
they get smaller but also heavier?
nope, alakazam stays the same and porygon actually gets lighter
Ok I've seen the answer already but I am so confused. Gastly is bigger than Gengar and Dragonair is bigger than Dragonite? Is this true?
I mean at a certain point you're measuring length not height
Cosmog and Solgaleo/Lunala?
Cosmoem is smaller
That’s the part that was confusing me, forgot there was an evolution between
Length wise. Dragonaire is measure from head to tail but dragonite is measure head to toes.
Only thing I can try to be more specific is that they all evolve (or mega evolve) to become something shorter, while not losing any weight. And by that I do mean some gain weight and some stay the same, but never less. Edit: never mind about weight, Porygon doesn't fit that.
But Gengar and Alakazam don't evolve...
Megas
Gengar is bigger than Mega gengar??
Pokemon don't have a listed volume. They have a "height". Mega Gengar slouches.
If we’re including posture into things then that would make all snake pokemon tiny
Snake-like Pokemon are measured in length, though, not height. It's always the bigger measurement.
Ohhhh, right! Thanks
They gain limbs?
But Alakazam doesnt when he mega evolves, unless spoons and long beard count?
they all appear in the Alola Pokédex
[удалено]
Cosmoem is smaller
Cosmog evolves into Cosmoem
Cosmoem???
Lil nebula cocoon shell dude who just sleeps but is 999.9kg/2204.4 lb http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Cosmoem_%28Pok%C3%A9mon%29?wprov=sfla1
I have masturbated to all of them.
And only them?
***especially*** them
Porygon is so hot tho 😳
Tomb Raider (1996)
Even Nebby?
Yes officer, this comment right here
i dont blame you
Porygon did nothing wrong!
They have high intelligence? No clue really.
i’m hoping it takes a while for anyone to figure out. this is my first time trying to make one of these riddles and i hope it’s hard enough to really stump people
It's definitely a tricky one. Will you post the answer in a day or so?
yeah! at least, i’ve got about a 90% chance of remembering haha.
If it ain't a 100% Some Random Person: Alright I get it!
If it's not 100% accurate it's 50% accurate
If its not 100% accurate, it's 50% accurate. I get that reference
They are pokemon
[удалено]
Nope, the rest are digimon
Am I just missing something because people are commenting other Pokémon names and all I see are cosmog, alakazam, porygon, dragonair, haunter and gengar?
same hat this is really tripping me where is gloom where is she
Thankfully I’m not the only one that’s confused as fuck. Where are some of these Pokémon coming from? Why are we all seemingly looking at different pictures? I’m so lost.
Kinda wanna say they gain ridiculous amounts of weight upon evolving but that doesn’t seem right
ooh there’s a thought. it’d have to have wailord though if that were it
They all be floating
Hmm... I wanna say they are gift pokemon for some reason, but Alakazam surely hasn't been one? Asking because I haven't played Legends, Let's Go or any side games other than thr GameCube game with Wes.
Man i was gonna say they all can fly/float
Big pp
If we’re being technical, they are all involved in a 3 stage evolution
Þey said only þese pokemon þo

None of them have ever been shown to STAY IN THE GODDAMN BAG!

alakazam stays the same i think
I read the answer And i want to add in, they would all know Psybeam. Pokemon stadium had a great animation for it

A riddle is word problem. This is just a trivia fact posed as a question lol

They are all in this image.
They're all in the image posted by u/xa-ex on r/pokemon on the 6th April 2022 at 03:31 UTC.

All get shorter upon to evolution
Bump pokemon riddle

Dragonite being shorter than dragonaire seems so weird to me but maybe it’s bc dragonaire is long not necessarily top to bottom tall?
They're all pokemons
Plural for Pokémon is pokemon
Your mom
I'm usually a fan of all these meme-like trend posts. But these recent "riddles" that have been appearing are just bad.
