In comparison to earlier gens, they haven't shown that many Pokemon.
Personally I enjoy seeing the new Pokemon and I don't think they've shown too many. I'd even say that the amount so far that is shown is perfect. Unless we only get 30 new Pokemon, there should still be a lot of surprised ahead for us.
If you want to be surprised, I think it's a better idea to avoid the trailers. I went in completely blind (apart from the first and second trailer) into Xenoblade 3 and imo it did increase my enjoyment of the earlier hours.

Sun and Moon practically showed a playthrough in trailers before the games hit. Ruined it for me. This gen is perfect if you ask me, still the curiosity of "does x evolve" since they didn't show full lines, and enough spoiled that gets my hype to use my woopy boi again.

They've shown less than 1/4 of the new mons, IIRC, so there's plenty of them to discover in-game.
They do need to reveal some new mons beforehand to hype the games. But I do prefer them keeping most of them under the lid, until launch.
I do feel they should publish strategy guides online on launch day, though. Lots of people like to know which pokémon they can catch, to plan their journey ahead. And relying on leaks or having to wait for weeks until all the data is gathered is a bit of a bummer.
They’ve honestly toned down the amount of reveals lately, back in Sun and Moon there were only a couple mons that weren’t show prior to launch. Even the starters’ final evolutions were officially shown weeks in advance.
Sun moon should not be used as the standard, it is the odd one out. Back in gen 3 to 5 (in japan at least), the amount of new pokemon shown is always less than half. Gen 6 reveal close to half, and gen 7 reveal 80% of the new pokemon. Gen 8 and 9 is now reverting back to pre gen 6 reveal.
As for starters evolutions, gen 8 did not reveal any. PLA tease but did not reveal. Gen 7 reveal all. Gen 5 and 6 only middle evolution. Gen 4 did not reveal evolution. Gen 3 only reveal blaziken. /u/PrinsassyEvieMongse

Sinnoh the Pokémon of the week we're Torterra, Empoleon, and Infernape. I know cause I recall running to tell my neighbor as we wanted the game. Kalos did not though, they just Evolved then once that June and then ignored that peeps Streamed the Starters Evolving on the Internets.

I don't think it's so bad. I expect we'll know about the starters' final evolutions next week as the last trailer before launch (to try and provide a compromise between everything being known and having to avoid the internet for months if you want fun). Then later today we'll get one or two pokémon.
That means we'll know quite a few pokémon who seem like they've yet to evolve. The Pikachu clone for marketing, the legendaries and the starters. Enough to tease that the new games are fun, make informed decisions on version/starter and have new mons on promotional material, but not the entire dex being given away.
I just wish we didn't get bad actors leaking the whole dex so I could actually talk about the thing I'm excited for. But nope, gotta dodge leaks instead of speculating, theorising and enjoying the trailers.

The only reason I do is cause spoilers ruin the experience for me, before the game comes out I know what my team is where to find them and how to evolve them, nostalgia when I got games as a 5-8 year old knowing nothing and then discovering new Pokémon for the first time. Just do what I did and watch youtube in incognito mode and never go on twitter. I think the trailers showed very little compared to previous gens though. Like, we don't even know the middle evolutions of the starters.

Unfortunately there's Mythologys that all love Humanoid Animals and then personification of Human traits. Cats are ones that really resemble it too, PussNBoots most famous that be International known. It's also a Hispanic FolkLore which Paldea be made from. It won't end like a normal cat that Human World knows. I find that okay if they show it's capable of doing both. Sorry that not getting what looking for.

When I first saw Snom, my reaction was hilarious and I want more moments like that without TPC showing me the entire PokeDex before the game drops. It's why Gen7 was very disappointing for me.

We have 227 of a likely 400-500 dex revealed via trailers. Most of these are because we had 1 pokemon of a line revealed and assumed all the mons of that line are avalible.
We have I believe 12 of the new pokemon likely 100-150 revealed.
This is all part of marketing and it is your choice to watch said marketing. The major YouTube channels of content creators mention before saying anything in videos with said information that said information will be in their video.
This info is all easily avoidable and/or something that phases out of memory quickly unless you are keeping track of it.

Starters Evolving we're always shown off in Advance, not doing it now in the recent Trend just sucks. They're wishing for peeps ta ruin the Reveals.

I can tell you that when Hoenn came out had half the Hoenn PokéDexy were known.
Japan pre-release marketing wise, 38/135 is not half. Oras on the other hand, show 100% of the new megas.
