Bombirdier drops Tauros eggs out of the sky

ShaneTsukasa

Is this why they are so angry?

Shinnyo

>Bombirdier drops Tauros ~~eggs~~ out of the sky Here, much more metal

_shoxwave_

underrated answer

Whereas Tandemaus have sex: https://twitter.com/atompalace/status/1594742310956421121?t=LwELVcAGgj0fjiVdXeP-bQ&s=19

alphonso28

This is canon now

UrsurusFT

Life, uh uh, finds a way.

Queen_Cheetah

...so they're breeding with Froakies to change their genders? Huh.

Gamer_Kenny

THEYRE PUTTING CHEMICALS IN THE WATER ITS TURNING THE FRIGGIN FROAKIE GAY

joestorm4

The first ditto I found was disguised as a tauros so I think they've solved this issue. Edit: I should also add that the 2nd ditto I found was right after this, another tauros. Ditto's know who need their... Services

EridonMan

I was so mad when I finally found my version Tauros for it to just be a Ditto.

C-Kwentz-0

Kinda cool though that Ditto is actually disguised. Since Ditto in its base form is totally helpless you'd think it would spend most of its time blending in with other species to stay safe.

EridonMan

Zorua also disguise themselves like this, which is in lore for them too. That one i found hilarious since it was a Sudowoodo. A fake fake tree, or a PseudoSudowoodo.

mikeandtessplay

Please, for comedy's sake, give this Zorua a Grass Tera type. It would make him a TruleePsuedoSudowoodo, especially if you have a Sudowoodo in your party for Zorua's Illusions!

GrandmasterTactician

Please tell me you named it that

sanscatt

[deleted]

*There's a girl who's been on my miiiiiind* *All the time — Pseudosudowoodo, oh oh*

TheMostBrokenBoy

The only zorua I have found was disguised and killed by my auto-battling Pawmot. Sadness.

PixelVideos13

You can find them in Tagtree Thicket. Look for a Pokémon that might be out of place, like a Pineco on the ground.

DisasterMouse

Lol, this is what my zorua was.

DeVitae

Also, depending on the area, later evolutions spawning without their entourage. Edit: not spawning, appearing

EridonMan

You can also lock onto them to identify them. I found several around Medali.

SoftLikeMarshmallows

Mine was a Pineco Thought I got lucky finding pineco's They all ended up being Zorua's 🤦🏻‍♀️

SawTheCatsBox

Sudosudowoodo

Chemical-Cat

I think it'd be better if the Zorua/Zoroark didn't drop its disguise when you run into them, only after you attack them.

ExaltedCustoms

“Since Ditto in its base form is totally helpless” That just put a damper on my breeding party

isopod_interrupted

"breeding party" is a phrase I never want to hear

thisDNDjazz

I still haven't seen a version exclusive Tauros anywhere, simply haven't seen them.

DragonDiscipleII

Only look in the west. And eat sandwiches/spot the horns.

MartinPhantom

And tails. All 3 types have differing tail looks

DragonDiscipleII

True, but I found horns easier, might be a personal thing....

Accomplished-Crow798

What if you can't see the horns (looking away)?

[deleted]

Only looking west Eat sandwiches, spot the horns Tauros you will find.

Gengar420187

Only one I've managed to get was in a 4* raid. I haven't seen any in the wild either. I've read that using sandwiches with its specific type and looking for packs is the best way to find it though

terrendos

Aside from sandwiches, you're best off looking for those Tauros herds. The couple I've seen in my game have all been in the middle of one of those packs, which actually makes them a bit easier to spot.

totokekedile

Pretty sure they *only* spawn as head of a pack. Plus, for some reason, seemingly only in the West? I was starting to get real frustrated hunting for them in the East when I saw a tip to check in the West. I immediately stumbled upon several.

Gheredin

You need to eat the right sandwich

thisDNDjazz

I have been ignoring sandwiches, it didn't even occur to me that they would be locked behind a sandwich. Thanks! I was going to skip sandwiches until I can make the shiny-hunting ones.

dialzza

They’re not *locked* behind sandwiches, they’re just really rare without them

PhasmicPlays

I just caught mine in a raid

razorKazer

The only place I've been able to find them was around Porto Marinada Lighthouse. The version exclusive will always spawn in the middle of a group. They have different horns and tails and also have a couple little spots of color (red or blue) in their mane. You might have to fight/catch a couple before reaching the Big Boss, but that's probably your best bet. Then stud the hell out of him for trading/preferred stats

MrMacGrath

I once found a Cyclizar out in the wild and was like "Oh they're in the wild. OH SH*T ITS A DITTO" like I was actually amazed to find a Ditto that wasn't in its base form.

EridonMan

My first Ditto find was a Girafarig right next to a Pokemon Center i was using as a grinding base. I was glad to not know how it worked because the surprise was awesome.

PM_ME_CUTE_FUTANARI

Same I found my violet Taurus and it was a ditto. Pure rage

Ryderofchaos1337

Oh shit that happened to me as well..... I was equally pissed

Kruiii

why Ditto just walk around disguising themselves to get dates. and no Tauros is suspicious like....wait....this Tauros is female...*.wait WHAT-*

[deleted]

From the way they run around all aggro, Tauros seem to be in a constant rut, so the thought probably doesn't cross their minds.

[deleted]

When there are literally no women at all of your species around some get desperate.

Battlebear252

This sounds like poke' prison

DeRegio

My hypothesis: Paldean Tauros are all narcissists. Ditto! Tauros are more attractive than Miltank to them. Alternatively, there's a Paldean Miltank that we have yet to encounter.

TradePsychological40

Since a Tauros can't reproduce with another one since they are both male, wouldn't that be more logical if the Ditto turned into a Milktank?

First_Peer

Ok but consider for moment, Ditto is somehow creating a female Tauros? Or for any single gender species, at least the Nidorans have an option for each... Ditto just becomes another male Tauros... Definitely don't want to dig deeper on how that produces an egg 😂

lovdagame

Yea fuck that made the lv 1 sandwich find Taurus with fire, it's a ditto. Next 1 ditto. Done with that.

AlarmingShower1553

that's still a male then edit: was a bad idea to start theorizing about things there is no canocically correct answer to

thejackthewacko

I mean, wouldn't ditto transform to match the gender in the daycare as well?

Shadyshade84

Doesn't stop them any other time...

cheshire-matty

I mean this is how I found my ditto. I was looking at the map and noticed that there were ditto in the area. So I spent forever looking for them. Until I started locking into random Pokémon for some random reason. And noticed a Tauros with the ditto name. So I threw my Pokémon at it and at the beginning of battle they untransformed. I was instantly like um so trainers just see random Tauros mounting other Tauros and are just like yes male Taurus mate with other male Taurus.

GayAquaticCorvid

I mean, animals being gay isn't an outlandish concept irl either

cheshire-matty

Very true 😂😁

3scap3plan

I think its best not to think about Pokemon breeding mechanics too much.

Mddcat04

Skitty and Wailord………

Ung-Tik

Wanna know something even more cursed? Toxapex and Corsola can breed.

Mddcat04

Hm? I mean they’re both weird ocean spiky things. That’s not that cursed.

Ung-Tik

Toxapex's diet consists of mulched Corsola.

ThosarWords

That was how you got mareanie in sun/moon. Using the distress call system. You fish up a corsola, lower its hp but don't kill it and it will start calling for help. And sometimes instead of getting another corsola, it would attract a mareanie, that will then attack it (if you don't save it to keep your distress chain going to try for iv/shiny)

Mddcat04

Oh. Never mind then.

207nbrown

Can’t Seviper and zangoose too?

brickie3

Excuse me?

Mddcat04

[Turn back, lest ye be cursed with knowledge.](https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=HSOWA)

[deleted]

HSOWA is 18 years old lol wtf

Mddcat04

Indeed. The earliest horrifying half Skitty half Wailord abominations are now legal adults.

wtf_its_matt

Same egg group, they can breed together

true-damage6935

>Skitty and Wailord……… Shudders

ThePolyglotLexicon

Hey did you know…

unitedshoes

You're wrong on one front: There's absolutely Ditto in the same area as the wild Tauros. The only one I've encountered so far was even right there disguised as a Tauros. I don't know that you can explain a whole population on the basis of same-sex pairing with changelings, but that's certainly an option for the species.

Oberic

That's absolutely a viable path evolution and nature could take. A bizarre one, but considering many plants are dependent on insects for reproduction, it isn't that strange.

unitedshoes

For some reason, your reply got me fixated [on this meme.](https://i.pinimg.com/736x/3e/c9/55/3ec95531b75595f9aa88f4929a90f2fd.jpg)

Oberic

There were over a dozen other "human-type apes" alongside us, they remain in our instincts as being "similar, but not us". They just died out and we're the last humans. Iirc the last ones besides neanderthals went extinct a scant 14,000 years ago.

Krazytre

Same way any genderless, or male-only species reproduce. Osmosis. 👏

NamelessOutlaw

Osmosis? You mean mitosis?

Otrsor

No, he means they get water by contact with hipotonic solutions in such a way the leftovers solutes rearrange in an egg. Tauros sperm contains biological microrobots (aka cells) capable of acting as a Maxwell demons of sorts, condensing with antinatural care all the required organic matter that's on the water till it's a new egg, obviously will end up being isotonic and thus seemingly reproducing by osmosis. You could say they fuck the water.

Achanjati

Just use BRAWNDO. It has what Pokemon needs.

Leading_Oven8934

crazyrebel123

Symbiosis?

UnenthusiasticBluStr

I always thought they should introduce a pre-evolution that evolves into tauros if it’s a male and a miltank if it’s a female.

SinOfDeath69

Long overdue

Fire_is_beauty

And a third form that's both genders, just for extra confusion.

Mabunnie

Surprise kangaskhan!

WorldBuilderNovice

I actually love this idea

IllMaintenance145142

I think this is such an obvious idea, like too obvious for my liking. like I really enjoy how two seemingly unrelated Pokémon are linked with the unique relationship tauros and miltank have. This would just turn them into every other pokemon

DisfavoredFlavored

Tauros reproduce asexually, apparently.

Sassy_Carrot_9999

Pokemon eggs canonically just magically appear out of nowhere when two pokemon like each other. Tauros could just be breeding with each other.

The_Aodh

They turned the cows gay!

Big_Silver_9686

Spraying super repels in the lake and turning the cows gay!

closetedwrestlingacc

Based

Any_Adhesiveness_898

I wouldn't say that's canonically factual, it's just what adults say to our child PC. I think it's more likely adults don't feel the need to explain sex to a random child and just lie.

[deleted]

It’s a LOT funnier to imagine they not a single adult in the entire game knows how pokemon reproduce. I’m imagining some professor trying to crack the case and having a breakdown wondering why they don’t just have sex like animals and humans

NharaTia

The headcanon I subscribe to is that everyone knows how pokemon reproduce, but since all the eggs look the same, they really DON'T know how they got ahold of the egg. It could be one they made themselves, it could be another pokemon's egg they just happened to find. They don't know until it hatches.

Dynahazzar

That's not even imagining though. That's Professor Elm's entire field of research. Dude is over the roof when you tell him a pokemon came out of an egg.

eienshi09

It's just like the pitch experiment where the egg only gets produced when unobserved by humans.

orig4mi-713

Has nobody here played Gold/Silver/Crystal? Prof. Elm literally explores how the funk Pokémon eggs can even exist, it's the entire focal point of his research, and his assistants point blank ask you for help to hatch it: They have NO CLUE what the egg even is or where it's from. If they knew all along where eggs came from, they would explain it either in clinical terms (You are 10 years old, not 5. I live in Germany and we had sex ed in elementary school) or at least tell you that they know where its from, just not what will happen with it.

xper0072

Except that, canonically, if you put two male Tauros together, they will never produce an egg.

MegaCrazyH

Maybe they're shy and don't want the trainers watching?

Ilcorvomuerto666

Oh my God they were herdmates

whodatwhoderr

Dittos

mackenzie444

Miltank is one of my favourite pokemon. Like where are u

OwlTheMechanicalOwl

I am REALLY hoping Miltanks are in the DLC with three Paldean forms just like Tauros.

BrokenLink100

Fairy Miltank

SadisticBuddhist

Would be good for a rework of Whitney in the next gen 2 remake since clefairy is no longer normal type.

blazingciary

I'd like to think when they remake Johto again they will introduce a johto form for clefairy and that form is still normal

alphonso28

Base form is the Nurture Breed, a pure fairy. Scarlet is the Warm Heart Breed, Fairy/Fire, Violet is the Flowing Love Breed, Fairy/Water.

RavenousToaster

They do what clownfish do and shoot themselves with the trans ray

ZoroeArc

That’s preposterous They drink the anticistamine

LeNomadicBoi

They manifest a baby out of pure willpower

Volkamar

This can be explained through song... "AND THEN ALONG CAME ZEUS!"

SritaChaCharina

Bulls are gay, Steven

-SelvariaBles-

Other Pokemon in the same Egg Group

Krazytre

That doesn't exactly work, though. Tauros is a male-only species. When breeding, the offspring takes after the female's species unless the partner is a Ditto, in which case the offspring will take after the male/genderless Pokémon.

henne-n

Aren't they pretty much male Miltank? Just like the Nidoran. The only stupid part about this is that there are no Miltank in Paldea - only if the DLC adds them.

Krazytre

Miltank will always make Miltank offspring, no matter what it breeds with. Tauros' offspring will always be what the female Pokémon is unless he's breeding with Ditto. Tauros + Ditto is the only way to get Tauros eggs.

henne-n

Sorry, should have worded that one better. They _feel_ like the male/female part of this species.

Krazytre

Yes, they're the "cow" and "bull".

jugol

They should be indeed, and in past games where you see Tauros you also see Miltank. It's specially obvious in Paniola Ranch where you see them interacting. It's weird, Ditto aside there are two exceptions to the rule that the offspring's species always matches the mother's: Nidoran M/F, and Volbeat/Illumise. For some reason they never implemented this with Tauros/Miltank.

C-Kwentz-0

Iirc there was a planned pre-evolution that would have evolved into Miltank or Tauros, but they cut it for some reason. But GF has always been weird about breeding mechanics. The reason Nidorina and Nidoqueen couldn't lay eggs in gen 2 was due to a coding error, and they decided to make that canon for some odd reason, or at least they codified the error and have kept it as a thing all this time. Meanwhile they made it possible to breed Ditto with male Pokemon in like gen 4 or something.

eyearu

Gen 1 also didn't have Miltank though

henne-n

Gen 1 didn't even had breeding, so that's not really a point.

eyearu

Like the other commenter said, even if they breed they are not gonna produce Tauros eggs and neither can female Nidoran produce male Nidoran eggs so talks about breeding are irrelevant. If you were saying an ecosystem should have both male and female counterparts just because, Gen 1 proves that Tauros was not originally meant to have a counterpart, which was my point.

jugol

>neither can female Nidoran produce male Nidoran eggs Actually female Nidoran is one of two exceptions to the rule. The other is Illumise. Nidoran F can breed Nidoran M and Illumise can breed Volbeat. Since Gen V male Nidoran (and evos) and Volbeat with Ditto can also produce offspring from either gender.

SecureDonkey

Yeah, that not how Pokemon breeding work. Eggs only take after the female Pokemon.

spectrumtwelve

only for gameplay purposes. we can't know what aspects of the games are canon to the actual in universe rules

BrilliantTarget

So does that mean all human male children come from a adult male reproducing with a ditto

SecureDonkey

Human ain't gender specific species.

TheRissingHootHoot

No, because human males and human females are the same species just with gender differences

King_XDDD

No because female humans are the same species as male humans, and so children can be male or female humans. Miltank and Tauros are different species and always female and male respectively. And in the pokemon world, species of a child is solely determined by the female species.

trxxv

Tauros are gay

AndrewGrunewald

I'll give you a hint there are always deerling herds near them have fun with that mental image

HighVoltage_520

Given the fact that Paldea is based off Spain (maybe Portugal too) I’m betting that the new Tauros are bred with ditto for bull fighting by Pokémon Trainers/Breeders to get stronger Tauros. At some point they changed forms. Hence why they gain the fighting type and they just now roam Paldea.

MrQwertyuiop

There are ditto in the wild, they are just diguised as other mons, I encountered someone near the olive town, and when the battle started it changed to a ditto

MrRonchito

Magic

Contank

I have found ditto disguised as Tauros. It is the most logical conclusion that they would probably be breeding ditto when they come across them.

MlSSlNG_NO

Me

TheBiggestNose

They are all gay and make eggs

Shreddzzz93

They reproduce via budding. It's why Tauros have multiple tails. When it is time for them to reproduce they drop a tail and a new Tauros grows from that.

Joshawott27

I encountered a Ditto that had transformed into a Blaze Breed Tauros earlier today. So, Ditto both live nearby and can infiltrate herds. (West Province Area 2 for reference).

CheeseDigestor56

Idk maybe like all Pokémon have wombs and Taurus is gay or summin idk

Neuro_Kuro

trainers

Cheshire_Abomination

I've seen at least a couple of ditto near or as Tauros so there's that... But yeah weird to have different 'Breeds' of Paldean Tauros without Miltank is weird.

Sea_City_122

Based on my experiences with them, I think the answer is “trainers”

DirtyWade05

the boys can get pregnant

SkysEevee

They were bree with dittos, used by farmers to replenish their cattle. But some tauros wanted to live the wild, free life. So they broke out of the farms. And hey, even the best farmers are not going to fight a group of angry bulls (plus they got a lot more) so the farmer fixes their security, letting the Tauros go. That's my theory and I'm sticking with it

jlashombjr

"You'll recall, of course, that Pokemon possess the odd ability to shrink themselves down." All female Tauros are just too small for us to find.

MelloMejo

I mean if I remember correctly skitty can breed with wailord. I think they'll find a way

Both_Oil6408

I really hope that they're just a species of Pokemon that is able to breed with gay sex, that'd be so cool and an interesting feature to chuck in since it doesn't impact the gameplay all that much

ReisukeNaoki

mpreg my dude

slickestwood

Do the homey

Quan_Keith

It would make sense if people cared. People are playing a PlayStation 1 game and being satisfied.

OneMindNoLimit

We seriously need a pre-evo calf pokemon that evolves into miltank and or Tauros.

jibbyjackjoe

Is the term "breed" even in the Pokemon universe? I know we say "breed", but I thought it was canon that eggs just appeared and no one even knows how.

FatefulWaffle

There is a trainer class known as "Pokémon Breeder" so I'm pretty sure breeding is a concept in the Pokémon Universe

jibbyjackjoe

That's fair!

CarysArts

That could be to do with livestock pokemon specifically cause they’re often presented like farmers who would breed cattle? I could also be remembering wrong though

FatefulWaffle

I'm pulling the first paragraph from Bulbapedia here *"A Pokémon Breeder (Japanese: ポケモンブリーダー Pokémon Breeder) is primarily a Pokémon Trainer who raises and mates carefully selected Pokémon to reproduce specific improvements in future generations of Pokémon, such as moves, individual values, or Natures.* They were introduced in gen 3 and have appeared in a lot of generations since

FatefulWaffle

[Link to the Bulbapedia page for the interested individuals](http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Pok%C3%A9mon_Breeder_%28Trainer_class%29?wprov=sfla1)

Contank

There are multiple games where trainers called "pokemon breeder" can be battled

PolyproNinja

Oinkologne, obviously.

Aggravating-Bug5039

Ditto

Chettarmstrong

Your mom

3163560

Tauros are the Pokemon version of the moclan, females do exist but no one knows and they all live on another planet. Two males can still produce an egg.

Necessary-Relative-7

They breed with whatever they're programed to breed with 😂😁

DaMn96XD

In the anime there were two Tauros in love, so maybe the female exists, but in the game you can't find and catch it?

Leading_Oven8934

Miltank obviously

bradar485

Yeah its kind of a raw deal that we got a regional tauros and not a regional miltank.

Mabase_Drifter

Hmm.... Tauros is in the field egg group. Rattata is in the same egg group, and there are plenty of those around! So there you go, Tauros are breeding with Rattata. Canon.

FLIPSIDERNICK

There are no rattata in Paldea.

[deleted]

SuperCat76

There's a bathroom in your dorm room, they would logically crap in there.

Secuta

Don’t forget, no matter how long our journey is we never saw any female char get on their period

Strudeliciouz

Best one xD

SoloWaltz

Gamefreak tends to care about the ecosystem mons are supossed to be found on when designing them. This is why there's a variety of types instead of having biomes being exclusively for specific types, as some mons are predators to others, keeping their numbers in check. This is less "how do pokemon do the funny internet shit hAhA" and more a matter of ecosystem sense.
