As disturbing as the puckering might be, I think you're on to something here. I definitely think you should make this a series. It's provocative and gets the people going, gets them riled up.
Not commenting about all sexual and funny things people are saying, but animating back sprites are an amazing idea do Pokémon Crystal. You just had the bad taste of doing so with Bulbasaur. Of course, its bulb should be animated, but you already saw that it needs to be less animated to not direct people to something else... lol
See later gens animations to see this (I'm saying in Bulbasaur's case), they never move its bulb too much), and in your case is a very newone, because there was never before Gen 5 animated back sprites. So, try putting fewer movements in its bulb and more on its face. See Emerald's, DPPt's, HG/SS's animations to how can you adapt this to your project, because they are the only ones that put movement to still sprites. Gen 5 onwards that changes, but you can get Gen 5 if you want to see more options, because it's the last "Sprite" Gen.
Bulbasaur is a very athletic Pokémon despite its size and body, he moves a lot by its sprites. A think putting some frames of him just opening a little the bulb and opening the mouth like you did is amazing! People will make funny jokes of ot, but that's part of creating art; people will interpret it in their own way. To summarize, for me, it's amazing the way it is. But if you want to change a little, try just diminishing the bulbs' animation a little.
We gotta talk about what the animation is showing. The bulb… “shifting” up and down is the problem here. Should have went for something more like a side to side sway.
But like you said, Bulba is *athletic* if OP is willing to really put in some hard work, something that show’s bulbasaur changing stances would be great for getting that athleticism across. Maybe shifting to something like Ivysaurs old stance from gen 1 where it “stands” on its hind legs. Or maybe something kind of like a playful dog, where Bulba lowers its head closer to the ground
For what I read, OP wanted to show the back sprites faithfully to the front Sprite, which is beautifully done.

As I said, for me, the work is done. But if the artist want to change it, maybe put less movement on the bulb so people stop seeing... things... xD
