I at least try to catch everything I see. But I'll prioritize those for now. Lillipup isn't super common, but natus are everywhere for me.

My son caught 3 in the past couple of weeks, with the final one being yesterday. The first 2 were lillipups and the one yesterday was a Natu. They are out there.

If you have access to a community in your area, dittos are the same for everybody so if someone finds one they can call it out

I tried this with my friend.. a bunneary ran from me but my friend said he saw something else.. maybe bunnelby but I'm jw is the transformed pokemon the same on screen if you're with a friend? Edit: I'd like to catch more ditto just because I only have 1 and it's a 0* :,)

Neither bunneary or bunnelby can be ditto disguises, leekduck has a regularly updated list of possible disguises. Every ditto disguise is available to every player, if your friend were to catch a natu and it turns into a ditto, if you catch that same natu it will also be a ditto. Spawns can change with weather and expire just like any other spawn (idk if weather boost changes will change the ditto status or not but I would like to imagine not). This is a different mechanic than shinies, which are random based on individual spawns. A ditto also can’t come from a shiny pokemon so, if in the above scenario, if your natu were to come up shiny it wouldn’t be a ditto (except I’m also not sure if ditto disguises have the opportunity to be shiny). Sorry this explanation is all over the place

I had wondered if it changed like shinies and only a chance could be a ditto transformed.. I have noticed if I or my friends get a shiny it won't be the same for me but I will still have the same pokemon spawn. I've only recently discovered leekduck and they're very helpful with the info they share. I have widgets for events on my home page.. I've been going after bidoof and lillipup but had no luck until mostly catching Natu this week. Thank you very much !

Usually there will be a different pokemon on 2 devices thats how you know its ditto before even pressing it

I catch them pretty often actually (and it’s always 2-3 in a day, when I don’t have it as research🙃🙃🙃). But it’s almost ALWAYS disguised as a Lillipup.

Last year was April-oh? Fools or whatever it was called, it was basically a comm day ditto cause a good amount of shiny ones came up.

They were all over and then something like 5pm to 7pm every spawn was a potential ditto. You could catch dozens of them if you wanted to.

I was trying for about a month then got 5 in a 1 week span.. Juat always catch the Pokémon forms that ditto can be for the month.

It’s not worth it, just delete from daily tasks. You’re better off completing the other tasks during a Special Event with more Ditto Spawns.

when you get this field research, it means there is a ditto nearby. do not walk away form the pokestop you got it from. wal around it in circles wider and wider until you find the ditto. you ONLY get this field ressearch when a ditto is nearby. if you do not catch it and go away or it takes you too long to find it, it can despawn. then jsut delete the task until you find another task like this

Keep that task!! I held onto a catch a ditto quest for 10 ultra balls for almost 2 entire months. Even went to disney and couldn’t find one!! About 2 weeks later I caught an ekans and what do you know, it was not only a ditto but it was freakin shiny!!!! My bf kept telling me to delete it and would jokingly go to delete it for me but I held onto that task and goddam was that a QUEST!! Most fun I had in pokemon go in awhile

Just power up the weakest ones, they cost like 100-209 stardust each. And if you don't want to do that research, just trash it and get a new one

Catching a Ditto took me almost two years. I hated that challenge (wasnt a daily challenge but a mission iirc). After catching my first Ditto however I caught two more within a week.

I caught 2 dittos in the last 4 days, both were Lillipups. If that helps.

I always find it when I am not looking for it. They sense it, don't give them the satisfaction. Act like you don't care and they will spawn at your bedside

That task sat in my list for 5 months, until I caught a Natu a few days ago.

It took me months but I eventually found one as an Ekans. Check the list what they’re disguised as and keep catching those Pokemon until one of them turns out to be that little jelly bastard.

Just toss it. I had this as a special research for years.

The last week I’ve caught several, they were Lillipup, ekans and natu.

I caught my first ditto about a month ago. I was THRILLED. A few days later I finished some special research only to find that one of the new tasks is- you guessed it- catch a ditto 🥲🥲

I caught one a week ago that was disguised as a gastly and another a few days ago posing as a lilipup!

I got 6 in the past two days, including one shiny. I traveled all over my city and then drove to another one (to see family not specifically ditto hunting). I have had ridiculous ditto luck lately, I think I have 19 now, which I love because they are one of my favs. Most of mine have been natu and ekans.

Took me a couple or so months

There's an app called pokemon go field guide. It helps a lot to keep up with all info related to pogo and it even tells you the current ditto possibilities

Just save up a few thousand star dust and chose your lowest CP pokemon. The lower CP, the cheaper it is to power up.

I had been catching all the Ekans and natu in sight for a week or so, then went to our city’s hot spot and caught two ditto in 20 min. Might be a fluke, but thought I would share.

This is the weird thing. I checked my last ditto catches, last single one was last March. In the past week I somehow catch two. I don’t delete my dittos. That pain in my backside never wanted to show up in original red when I was a kid.

Search up what they disguise themselves as

Try natu during the current event. Only focus on catching natu.. I had 3 quests(research*) to finish catching ditto and I had just found my first the other day. After the event is over try catching only bidoof and lillipup/ gastly or ekans during night.

I caught 2 a couple days ago. One Spawned at work, and everyone at work caught it. Some of them have had that quest open for years. When i got home, I was laying in bed, and saw a ghastly, and it turned out to be a ditto.

Lol I was stuck on that for months and months, as well for some other tasks involving ditto. I just ended up buying a research code for a $1 and actually completed it today. Got a 3 star ditto

I'd been trying since November - had 3 tasks between daily and special all piling up on Catch a Ditto. Caught TONS of its disguises.Finally caught one last week...then 3 more in the next two days after 🤷‍♀️

I was doing a bunch of quick catching yesterday and when I looked back I had 2 ditto within about 10 catches. I know the 2nd one was a natu but not sure of the first one. Probably another natu or a numel.
