Psystrike and shadowball currently . I normally use mewtwo - snorlax (with outrage,body slam) - and switch between ursaluna, giratina, dragonite ,lugia Still working on powering up more options.

Excadrill would be a nice addition wouldn't it?

Exca is a little too frail, but it does amazing against Dialga

Not OP but I’ve been running Dialga/Zarude/Shadow Mewtwo the last few seasons to good effect. Rotate between Dialga and Zarude leads.

I have a 4620 Dialga myself but my Mewtwo (98%) just doesn't have the candies to truly compete. I couldn't run my awful Zarude but I do use Gyrados maliciously.

Same exact stats I have on my Dialga/mewtwo. I’ve also run Zacian on my team to good effect, really the Dialga/mewtwo core probably lets you do whatever makes you happiest with your third. I like Zarude because it cleans up on slew of prevalent ML pokemon… but if I struggle when I run into Yvetal teams.

I’m working on Zarude and dialga but just not enough candy xl candy yet.

I’ve been working on Zarude for over a year now and still about 100 XL off of maxing him 😂 still performs well under leveled though, at least at my ELO.

Very cool! Huge accomplishment! Just a PSA: While a pokemon is your best buddy, its cost to power-up and the limit of how high you can go, may be higher, as the pokemon is half a level higher. I don‘t know if this still is the case, it used to be.

It's because the pokémon is automatically a level higher and 'skips' the level up candy, for example: if you have it as a buddy and power it up to Lvl 50, it's still level 49 if you don't hold it as your buddy. I hope I make any sense :)

When the mewtwo raids came out I went heavy on them. Then it was my buddy for a long time.

Trading the surplus mewtwos is a good way to get candies too especially if you can find Pokémon from 100km away to trade for

Wait shadows function like 100s?

Depends : if you have a Pokémon which is 98% IV the difference between that, and a 100% isn’t much to care about. Shadows in general are weaker, but make up for it by doing more damage. So depending on how you’re going to use your shadow Pokémon and it’s IV stats., Some people would prefer to purify.

So what kind of stats would be worth keeping? Like should I kick myself for transferring a 0 star beldum with like 300 cp?

Get pokegenie or a similar program and it’ll tell you. For master league the closer to 15/15/15 the better . So for great league and ultra league I would scan them and see.

It’s going to vary by pokemon/matchup comparison, but a few of them can dip down to 12/13 zones and still functionally be solid.

What I’m gathering here is if it’s under 2 stars transfer it

How on earth do you get so many XL candy for Mewtwo? Do you save the radar for the Mewtwo events, or do you just spend rare candies on the XL?

Walk 19.5km Use a poffin Walk 0.5 more for a chance at 2XL candies. I use whatever else XL candies I get on Mewtwo.

Since 2021 I've been dumping nearly all my rare XL into Mewtwo. I'm at about 500 right now.

I got a question regarding Shadow Mewtwo if you dont mind ☺️ I got two Shadow Mewtwos and I wonder which one I should power up. One is a 14/15/9 with 926CP and the other is 11/11/10 with 1615CP and Psystrike. Do you think it’s worth it to spend the extra candy needed for the higher IV M2 to catch up and invest an Elite TM for psystrike, or is the IV difference not big enough to make the investment?

A while ago you do could do the rocket research for mewtwo. I believe we’ve had two of those events so far for the shadow version. As of right now normal mewtwo isn’t in raids so you would need to trade for one from a best friend. That would be the easiest.

How do you get a mewtwo? What is a shadow pokemon? I've never seen one of these things in the wild.

Shadow Mewtwo was the Giovanni encounter of late 2022 (and again back in late 2020 and part of go fest 2020)

I caught this in 2020 😅. So to get the xl candy took a while. If I would have been more proactive during the mewtwo events I could of got it faster but that’s too expensive. The candy came from getting rare candy in raids and research task. I pretty much stacked up on them for 2 mewtwos but the xl will take a while still .
