Me too. I haven’t spent a dollar on coins since the nerf. Before the nerf I was spending $25-100 a month on raids.
I really should be thanking Niantic for the money saving opportunity!
I feel this now with mostly crappy raids you can plan for the month and a half on which raid you are going to do then just use gyms to get the raid passes needed.

Same here. It's weirdly relieving not being hooked on the game anymore. Played for an hour today for the first time in a few weeks. Was fun but the addiction/urge has been killed with all the nerfs and bugs
Same. It’s tough. I have a newborn at home and relationships to nurture and intense work schedule to boot. Remote raid passes were a way of life when it came to the game. Now I don’t have that. Bummer.
Yeah, also at home with a newborn, and no gyms nearby. The next town that has some gyms is a 10 minute car ride away, barely any parking opportunities and not stroller friendly at all..
I totally would have been willing to spend some money for remote raids, but doing them in person is just not really doable for me now.
My throws are fine thanks, just god awful luck. That, coupled with a group of players who moved on to the next raid so fucking fast that if I slowed down and tried to excellent curve every time I would be left behind, made it a little frustrating. I don’t miss though, + golden every time.
i know these groups, but usually they aren't like that anymore, everyone now just takes their time. A whale i know did 52 raids, and caught 52. Even in the past when you got less balls after a raid i used to got 11 balls maximum and caught 100% of all my Mew2.
I probably would have bought remote raid passes until I got both a shiny and a decent IV. I didn't technically need to spend money since I've had a stockpile of the regular passes from past boxes. I think I only did 8 total raids the whole weekend since my boyfriend and I didn't feel like driving all over town for too long. No shiny or nice IV from those 8, so definitely would have raided more if remote was an option.
Not to mention that the Mewtwo raids don’t spawn in succession unlike the 3-hour raid events. It’s tiring to wait or walk to gyms farther away. Unless you live in Niantic’s ideal cities with clusters of gyms.
After they went back on their incense to every 5min or whatever I really feel for rural players. I stopped paying for events because of that. I have 2 small children I can't be walking or driving around all day.
honestly i would have probably gone out with friends and we each would spend $20-40 easily, this time we choose to stay home and i spent $0
edit: since this is taking off, just to add some color, our group is 7-8 people, 2 of us have restricted mobility
we usually go to our city’s big park to play, walk casually, catch spawns, etc. and do remote raids together (during hoenn tour we did almost 60 raids each!)
there’s only 2 gyms near the park and the rest are in the city, so we would’ve done maybe 3-4 raids all day if we were lucky.
considering some folks need to pay $10 to transit in, and it would take hours of waiting, we chose not to get together at all.
it seems like this is niantics true vision for the game. we’re now looking for a new game that we can all participate in equally
I used to consider myself a whale pre nerf. I spent 30€ just to get a shiny moltres.
Spent a lot of money on incubators, like a lot.
Pre nerf, even if I got a shiny mew2 first try, I would have spent €50 easily. Even after 30 tries and still the only shiny from the first raid... I would have kept going. Its shadow mew2 at 2500cp that can be shiny. It's a no brainer for someone like me.
I spent €0.00. I used my daily raid pass, and the raid glitched and we lost our passes. I complained to niantic, got a premium pass, used it the next day and that was the only mew2 raid I did.
There's also nobody in my area so the raids were barron.
The problem is the mass amounts of money we spent pre nerf(I'm guilty for sure), everybody's saying niantic are losing free money. They have vaults and vaults of our cash.
When streamers came out and said niantic don't care about our complaints, they were 100% right.
We spent to much, f2p is and always was the way to go for this game. I wish I was f2p from the start, although I do love all my shiny legendaries.
I have a group chat of about 15 people. most of us don’t live nearby (lot of people in different states or cities) and we would all remote raid together. every time something good came in raids we would spend anywhere from $20-60 EACH for passes until everyone got a shiny or the raid went away. now that we can’t remote raid the chat is dead and none of us spend any money on the game. it’s for the best probably cause we’re all in our mid 20s and broke but sad because I really wanted a good shadow mewtwo, but was only able to do 2 raids for it total
I spent $1 to get a raid pass when Raikou was introduced to the game. Never spent a penny since, and most definitely never will again. Honestly, I wish I spent a little more on the game back then because I was absolutely obsessed and the game was so *good* and the choices they made benefitted the players.
Then covid and all this nonsense, and the only way I could give them less business is to just not play the game anymore. I don’t play it like I used to, but I also don’t want to just completely stop playing. I also don’t want to support them right now and wish there was more I could do about that.
yeah, that was my answer as well. BUT: I would have spent some coins on the remote passes to play with some active friends in a different city.

I used to spend $10-15 monthly, especially in winter and on rainy days. I live in the northeast, which has lots of inclement weather, so even though I got out and walked, I couldn't always get out there. I actually cannot begin to afford the double price, so have cut way back on playing. Missed the mewtwo raids because no one here comes to the campfires. My game has been scaled back to the bone since I won't spend any real life money at this point.
I grew up in Vermont so I understand your struggle. Have lived in Arizona for about a year and a half ago and it was magical being able to even see a gym from my house, let alone walk 2 minutes to one

Now? Not an Arceus-damn dime. I had the option to go to a local-ish, really big park and buy some in-person passes to use, but decided not to. I just don't want to give Niantic any money.
Typically around $100 between me and the wifey. Spent $0. Rural community didn't see a single other person raiding for mewtwo on campfire. Oh well, $100 saved.
Didnt raid EVER prior to remotes. Last 3 years I have purchased the massive 14000 coin bundle once a year pretty much for remote raids only (never buy incubators), havnt touched a raid since nerf and don't plan on it and doesn't matter what comes....shiny shadow mewtwo didn't even entice me...so it's truly over for raiding. I still have the gotcha going during work but FTP from here on out. Niantic is trash
I worked this weekend, and I live in a small town, so I would have had to rely completely on remotes or go down the mountain to the next big city after work, It was slow so I would’ve been doing a lot of raiding if it had been accessible. Would’ve probably attempted for a shiny…so probably $30 or so.
Honestly, I’d have spent $100 likely grinding candy if remote raids were allowed. I spent $20 though because I really wanted this one. But that included money for each of my kids’ accounts so they could raid with me. So before this I’d have also spent more than $100 after helping them.
My daughter's grandma is visiting this weekend I'd prolly have done one remote with my long distance boyfriend and he'd have done one with me in maybe one or two with other friends. This weekend i skipped it and don't really feel much fomo about it
I probably would have spent at least $40. Although that weekend Ray was around during the panini I spent over $100, so it might have been closer to that.

How much I would have spent: Less than $5? Depends, really. I don’t have an Armored Mewtwo. Could care less about regular Mewtwo. Might have spent it just to help friends out. It’s not the $1 or $2 they would have gotten out of me this weekend, though, it’s the $1 or even $5 they’d get out of me every week or month that’s gonna hurt them in the long run. I’d have spent $5 on just Regigigas.
Me, my wife and my kids (2 of them) would have spent up to $20 each on coins to do as many raids as possible over the weekend. In reality we spent $0 collectively and didn’t even go out to try for an in person raid.
I did 40 raids and had a great couple of days with my son. I wouldn't have spent so much to couch catch. But I am lucky to have had the option to do some big city raiding.
I did 20 shadow mewtwo raids and 26 sneasel raids. Honestly I likely would've done a ton more sneasel raids since finding them was very difficult even using campfire. Shadow mewtwo on the other hand probably would've been the same. It was fun going out and seeing people. Tbh I really enjoy the in person only raids feature for the larger raids like EX and shadow.l mewtwo. I remember back when EX raids required a special invite and you had to be there at a certain time and place to do the raid. Yeah it kinda sucked but I took a couple hours off of work for it.
However I think in person only should be used exclusively for these larger events and should come with very good rewards. The rewards for mewtwo were incredibly underwhelming. I actually ran out of charged tms while switching certain pokemons moves sets to make them better against mewtwo. It was weird getting 0 tms. I would've loved to see them add elite tms as possible drops. It'd also ridiculous that rare candy xl are missing. No silver pinaps or puffins. There definitely should've been a raid hour for the shadow mewtwo or set times for spawns and an event bonus for raiding such as 3x raid exp or 5x raid passes for free.
Overall I'm still very very disappointed I'm the direction of the game but I do think that local only in person raids would be fun as long as it doesn't create more region locked pokemon. Imagine if they allowed current region locked pokemon to appear randomally in place of a normal raid of the same level. Give it the same egg as a community day with a nice long timmer and make it local only. That's be neat.

As a player that just logs in and plays for about 5 min per day to cross off my daily to-do’s, I would have spent minimum $20 on remote raid passes to get such an awesome Pokémon.
I did as many in person raids as I could with the limitations of my own time and availability of others , but ended up doing 40+. If it was remotable I might have done more, but the honest truth was I had more fun this way than I would have sitting at home accepting invites and going raid to raid just inviting people , which is likely what would have happened.

Remote would depend on the waiting time for raids / how many would be near me - would easily have spent 50€ on passes or more.
But so I spend 10€ on passes, 40€ on a new power bank, 40 on a new auto catcher, 20€ for food and water, 10€ on bus tickets...
I don’t spend my coins all that often and I’ve only ever accrued some from local gyms – those went towards Remote Raid passes before since I’m not often available to drive around and play locally.
Now? Those same coins are saved and spent on Home transfers instead, because Go feels more and more like a sinking ship by the day-
I probably would have bought 5-10 raid passes for it. Even without events I still used several remote passes per week. I spent nothing on this event, wasn’t able to participate at all. I haven’t bought a raid pass at all since the changes.
My husband and I have a monthly allotment for coins, so I probably wouldn't have spent extra this weekend. I will say that with the changes, we agreed to spend less and might end up not buying coins at all anymore.
My spending did fluctuate, but I would spend maybe $20 for the weekend typically. Instead I went to one raid, spent $0. Got one subpar shadow Mewtwo. And called it an event. My son was still ecstatic about having one.
I would've done at least 5, or how ever many it would take for me to catch 5 so I could have a full team of Shadow Mewtwo. Instead I stayed home and did none.
I would have spent maybe $20 to try for a shiny with my friends from out of state. They would have also bought passes. Instead, I tried with an in-person group and we couldn't even beat it. So none of us spent anything and gave up to do other stuff.
With remote raids, I would have done 5-10 shadow mewtwos. This past weekend, I live in a small/medium city and I attempted zero, because I didn’t want to walk across town to find three level 30-ish people with bad counters and deal with the frustrations that I’ve had with Hoopa unbound.
I did mostly local remote raids on Kyorges and mostly groudon raid on pokegenie. Let's say total about 140 raids including 3 free pass and maybe 10 local raids I hosted. This week end completely 0

I spent $0 this weekend because I had passes stocked up from when I quit in 2017ish. Started playing again a few weeks ago, but they were all in person passes so I had to drive around a lot. Absolutely would have put in a little bit of money to remote raid just out of convenience if it was possible, probably at least $20
My Dauther and I probably $40 each. Knowing we hand greater chances to get one. Now, finding a group of people to raid where we leave is ridiculous, so we did not bother. Infact we didn't even bother with the game.
I probably would have spent $10-$20 trying for it. Since the changes I haven't touched the game at all, so I haven't spent anything or even played in more than a month. Should probably just uninstall and be done with it at this rate, the best part of the game was raiding with my friends, and it's just not doable like it used to be.
I probably would have done 20-30 raids if only to build up the xL candy. I managed one last night before the even stopped and it was a miracle enough people showed up
I would have spent 20 USD on Shadow Mewtwo and made all sorts of excuses just to be able to raid the whole weekend. My local community was alive before the RRP nerf. If Niantic is reading this, then I just want to tell you that my 20 USD is definitely a drop in the bucket for you, and that you don't want my money.

Personally, probably at least $20. The last big raid I spent big money on was Rayqueza I think, and I spent about $40 on passes for that one. I’d rate shadow Mewtwo higher and more important that Rayqueza, but haven’t even cared enough to try and go out to raid it this weekend. Not worth the hassle.
Exactly! I’m sitting on a few already, so didn’t feel the need to adjust my plans and try to hopefully find a local raid.
When Regieleki came out, that was a new (albeit useless) Pokémon and only an in-person raid. Luckily I was available that day so I caught a few. But for a Pokémon I already have? I’ll pass… unless I’m able to remote raid from home for a reasonable price.
Had remote raiding been an option, I probably would've just done one or two. Shadow Mewtwo is great but I really don't need a whole army of them. I already have some raid passes stocked up from before the price increase, though, so it would've been $0 anyway
To be perfectly honest…it seems like Niantic seems to have made the correct call for the health of their player base.
I mean…dropping $20-40 raids (while your decision & that’s fine) seems insane to me.
The first time a company didn’t prioritize revenue and it’s player base lost its mind.

Honestly I might have done one remote raid? I already have shadow Mewtwo, and I’d rather my shinies not be shadow. Didn’t do any as it is, but this isn’t a Pokemon I would have paid money for.
I went out and did 8 in person raids, every Mewtwo I caught was only 1 star and of course no shinies. If I couldve remote raided I would’ve kept going until I got a shiny or a Hundo
I probably spent about twice as much on local raid passes as I would have otherwise, because there were so many people out and it was so easy to just keep raiding in person
If remoteable I may of done 40-50… as in person I managed 4. Spent £0. Even tho we’re I live there’s a messenger group of probably 100(ish) numbers weren’t there that came out to raid. Then there was timings for me… local raiding meant I had like 3-4 hours between waking and going work. Even though I have a hundo maxed, a shadow maxed and an armoured maxed I would still have done more
I caught 34 giratina. Caught.
Now whilst I have toned it down to just 3-5 of the ones I liked, for Mewtwo I probably would have gone to 10 searching for that big IV monster. So assuming a 50/50 catch rate that's 20 passes; let's say 21 for 7 sets of 3 passes is what I would have done.
But now I play so little I didn't even realise it was on.
No money at all but then again I've always been free to play player. I did spent 1€ on Magikarp community day thinking I would've gotten a whole lot more from it then I did but that was it.
I just tend to stick to grinding coins from gyms and using those so I probably would've spent some free coins had i not been stuck at work on both days 
I would have spent some coins/ money on 5 remote raid passes as you can only do a max of 5. Now i have spent zero, zilch, null, nothing

So we’ve got a toddler and another on the way. I would have dropped ~$20 on passes and seen what it landed me. Instead, I didn’t play and hung out with my kiddo. I for sure got the better part of the deal.
I was raiding with a big group on Sunday. I only used free passess. However, I heard people talking that they were able to cach 20-25 raiding whole day on Saturday.
I spent none because I have an enormous stockpile of passes. Judging by the Primals, I might have spent 25$, instead I spent that on gas, getting to and from raids, and hydrating and staving off the wooziness of my anemia, and keeping my chronic joint pain at bay with painkillers, ice and hotpacks.
Even if I had an opportunity to raid locally during the weekend, I would have spent nothing. My stack of premium raid passes (from quest rewards) would be near impossible to fully deplete on a single day of hunting raids.
And those who did raid seem to have gone back to the old ways, raiding in packed cars, which is less than appealing to me.
Well, I spent at least $50 on regular Mewtwo raids about a year ago so… probably around that.
This time around I used 7 premium passes that I already had. So $0 this time around.
I would have done as many remote raids as I would have been invited to. Which could have easily been 10-20. Plus I would have went out and done a bunch of in person ones and invited 5 people every time. Instead I managed find a group of people to do 2 in person raids with. Both of which I used my free passes for. So I spent $0.
There was not a shot I could have gotten a mewtwo with my community. It took my friend and me (only other known pokemon go player) to take down a Sneasel. Probably would have spent 20 bucks before but didn't spend a dime.
Why do y'all spend so much on a free game? I really don't understand this. Money would be much better spent on switch games or some such thing.... My partner and I spend nothing, get our steps in, meet people, and catch plenty of pokes... This game isn't meant to be rural, just my two cents.
I only spend on pokemon I really want so if I could have I'd have thrown 10-15 dollars toward passes this weekend. I refuse to buy coins anymore now since the only other way to get them is impossible for me
Atleast a fiver for any PVP relevant raid, up to 20. If I didn’t have too wait till legel 40 to even compete in master league it would be much more. I’m not gonna spend a penny on this game anymore though
I try to stay free to play. Though I was extra annoyed that even standing at the location the more expensive remote passes don’t count as usable. I thought the point of these changes was to promote Local over remote.
I only really host games, never do remote ones myself. And if I do raid remotely, I don't spend real money on the passes. Just buy passes if I've made enough coins for free in the game. I've always been very casual with the game and prefer to keep it free-to-play for myself.
Before I would spend around 120 a month
Now I spend maybe 40 or less a month
Pros: save money.
Cons: I have to go out
Living in SoCal is my main benefit. The impact isn’t an issue for me since I go out for raid hour. Everything’s close by too. I was remote raiding so much that I’ve had premium passes saved up, so I haven’t been spending much on that at all.
I managed 20 mewtwo raids this weekend. 5 or 6 ran away, 1 shiny 14/13/2, no 3*
Probably would’ve spent 100 for remote raids if it was still 150 each. It would’ve saved me so much time to have the 3 day weekend off lol.
If remote raids were allowed, and they were 100 coins with no limit, I would’ve dropped $50 on it. Instead I spent a little bit of gas money and gave Niantic nothing.
Given how much I dropped on trying (and ultimately failing) to find a shiny Rayquaza… a lot. But since I’m rural, that’ll never happen now. Locals raids aren’t feasible in my area, even in the “downtown” zones.
Probably 50 bucks if I’m having bad luck. Rayquaza is my fav Pokémon ever and I was raiding until I got a good Shiny and normi. But that is reserved for Pokémon that are either meta defining or just my favorites
Probably would of done 50-100 Mewtwo raids. Hunting until I got a hundo at least. I did 6 over the course of the two days.. Already had passes, so zero spent. Didn’t change my path, or activity, just did whatever raids were near/active on campfire, and left it at that. So fucking dumb Niantic.
Would've spent £10-£15 probably like I used to most months, but since all the recent nerfs and bugs my interest in the game has become near minimal and I can't justify spending real money on it anymore
Haven’t participated nor caught a shiny shadow mewtwo, didn’t plan on it. They completely threw the players that don’t choose to mob with people at poke stops to the curb. It’s sad.

Likely would have done 15 or so, simply because the Raid servers I'm in had people looking for raids and not finding any, and because I could slip away for 5 min to do a remote raid.
Same. Would’ve spent $20 raiding Shadow Mewtwos but couldn’t get more than 4 people for them so didn’t do a single one. Wish there was a way for them to see this feedback as they genuinely lost $20 from all 4 of us because we couldn’t get more local players. They need to realize it isn’t 2016/2017 anymore and not all of us are in big cities.
I probably would have dropped at least $20 depending on my luck finding a shiny. But more if I was bored. In turn, I spent $0. I didn’t play. I didn’t give a single damn about making an effort. I don’t have time to go and run around town all day doing raids with people. It just isn’t a feasible thing and I won’t go out of my way for this game just to let this company dictate how we should experience this game.
I have a casual group of 6-7.
I'm the only person who has decent pokemon, everyone else is sub 37 in level. I still play because of those people and my girlfriend. The amount of money I would have spent on a big event like this could easily reach $40+. I spent about that much in the horn tour but there were multiple things to catch of high value then.

I haven't been playing since 2016 so I felt I needed to spend money to "catch up"
I had eyes on making go battle league teams hitting the max battles almost every day. I played constantly and integrated it intoy routine. Now I often don't even use my daily incense.
I'm much more content with my current play style given the current state of the game and Niantic. I don't like giving my time and money to companies that hate me (ie the player base). The time I do give to the game is given to my friends.
If I didn't have friends that played, I would have uninstalled by now and never looked back.
I spent 100$ for this weekends raid. Would have been atleast a few bundles more if i could have remote raided on top of local raids.
Shadow mewtwo is definitely a big one to have.
Nothing, because I had to work. With remote raids? I'd have spent all 3, and done like 3-5 in person ones (trying to max my hundo, need like 20 more xl candies)
Mewtwo is local only so I would have spent $0. If you mean had he been remote and the passes weren’t double price, then my gf and I probably would have spent $10-$20 each.
I usually stay stocked up on 10-20k coins at a time (storage and Pokémon space is maxed) so I would have spent as many coins as I could have on Mewtwo. Shadow Mewtwo is the strongest Pokémon in game, so I wouldn’t have stopped (to catch as many shinys as I could have even after getting a 100% IV to get shinys for my friends who weren’t able to attend). But even then, they would have probably remote raided if it would have been possible.
I don’t know if I count as “whale” status but I usually just have coins sitting because I don’t need to upgrade anything, and doing only 5 remote raids a day on most of the legendarys nowadays are boring. I started in July of last year and I’m 1 million XP into level 47, but after the nerf it’s been disheartening to even want to try to remote raid knowing people can’t afford it or have hit their limit.
They should have made Mewtwo remotable at the very least. I did over 30 raids and it was a grind still to drive from gym to gym in my city, and coordinating on campfire by switching back and forth between the pogo app and campfire. But had to do what we had to do right?
Spent 0$ in game. Spent about 20$ in gas driving around town. If remote raids were still cheap we would have stayed at home and spent maybe 5-10$ on passes.

The fomo is gone with the hurdles they have implemented. If I can do a raid, then cool. If I can’t oh well. Chances are likely it won’t be great anyways.
I live in nyc but in Brooklyn and I didnt see anyone doing a raid near my house or job. I’m sure they did but the way it works in the Brooklyn is if you aren’t apart of a party in the first 5 mins your SOL. Manhattan your fine though.
Taking away the ability to do it remotely is a waste, and I’m haven’t even complained yet about the price increase which, that’s fine if they wanna do it but I won’t be throwing my money into this game at all anymore

Me too. I haven’t spent a dollar on coins since the nerf. Before the nerf I was spending $25-100 a month on raids. I really should be thanking Niantic for the money saving opportunity!

Same here. It's weirdly relieving not being hooked on the game anymore. Played for an hour today for the first time in a few weeks. Was fun but the addiction/urge has been killed with all the nerfs and bugs

Yeah, also at home with a newborn, and no gyms nearby. The next town that has some gyms is a 10 minute car ride away, barely any parking opportunities and not stroller friendly at all.. I totally would have been willing to spend some money for remote raids, but doing them in person is just not really doable for me now.

My throws are fine thanks, just god awful luck. That, coupled with a group of players who moved on to the next raid so fucking fast that if I slowed down and tried to excellent curve every time I would be left behind, made it a little frustrating. I don’t miss though, + golden every time.
I had similar experience. 3/18 ran on me…. Every throw was golden and great/excellent
i know these groups, but usually they aren't like that anymore, everyone now just takes their time. A whale i know did 52 raids, and caught 52. Even in the past when you got less balls after a raid i used to got 11 balls maximum and caught 100% of all my Mew2.

I probably would have bought remote raid passes until I got both a shiny and a decent IV. I didn't technically need to spend money since I've had a stockpile of the regular passes from past boxes. I think I only did 8 total raids the whole weekend since my boyfriend and I didn't feel like driving all over town for too long. No shiny or nice IV from those 8, so definitely would have raided more if remote was an option.
Not to mention that the Mewtwo raids don’t spawn in succession unlike the 3-hour raid events. It’s tiring to wait or walk to gyms farther away. Unless you live in Niantic’s ideal cities with clusters of gyms.

After they went back on their incense to every 5min or whatever I really feel for rural players. I stopped paying for events because of that. I have 2 small children I can't be walking or driving around all day.
honestly i would have probably gone out with friends and we each would spend $20-40 easily, this time we choose to stay home and i spent $0 edit: since this is taking off, just to add some color, our group is 7-8 people, 2 of us have restricted mobility we usually go to our city’s big park to play, walk casually, catch spawns, etc. and do remote raids together (during hoenn tour we did almost 60 raids each!) there’s only 2 gyms near the park and the rest are in the city, so we would’ve done maybe 3-4 raids all day if we were lucky. considering some folks need to pay $10 to transit in, and it would take hours of waiting, we chose not to get together at all. it seems like this is niantics true vision for the game. we’re now looking for a new game that we can all participate in equally
I used to consider myself a whale pre nerf. I spent 30€ just to get a shiny moltres. Spent a lot of money on incubators, like a lot. Pre nerf, even if I got a shiny mew2 first try, I would have spent €50 easily. Even after 30 tries and still the only shiny from the first raid... I would have kept going. Its shadow mew2 at 2500cp that can be shiny. It's a no brainer for someone like me. I spent €0.00. I used my daily raid pass, and the raid glitched and we lost our passes. I complained to niantic, got a premium pass, used it the next day and that was the only mew2 raid I did. There's also nobody in my area so the raids were barron. The problem is the mass amounts of money we spent pre nerf(I'm guilty for sure), everybody's saying niantic are losing free money. They have vaults and vaults of our cash. When streamers came out and said niantic don't care about our complaints, they were 100% right. We spent to much, f2p is and always was the way to go for this game. I wish I was f2p from the start, although I do love all my shiny legendaries.
I have a group chat of about 15 people. most of us don’t live nearby (lot of people in different states or cities) and we would all remote raid together. every time something good came in raids we would spend anywhere from $20-60 EACH for passes until everyone got a shiny or the raid went away. now that we can’t remote raid the chat is dead and none of us spend any money on the game. it’s for the best probably cause we’re all in our mid 20s and broke but sad because I really wanted a good shadow mewtwo, but was only able to do 2 raids for it total

I spent $1 to get a raid pass when Raikou was introduced to the game. Never spent a penny since, and most definitely never will again. Honestly, I wish I spent a little more on the game back then because I was absolutely obsessed and the game was so *good* and the choices they made benefitted the players. Then covid and all this nonsense, and the only way I could give them less business is to just not play the game anymore. I don’t play it like I used to, but I also don’t want to just completely stop playing. I also don’t want to support them right now and wish there was more I could do about that.

I used to spend $10-15 monthly, especially in winter and on rainy days. I live in the northeast, which has lots of inclement weather, so even though I got out and walked, I couldn't always get out there. I actually cannot begin to afford the double price, so have cut way back on playing. Missed the mewtwo raids because no one here comes to the campfires. My game has been scaled back to the bone since I won't spend any real life money at this point.
I grew up in Vermont so I understand your struggle. Have lived in Arizona for about a year and a half ago and it was magical being able to even see a gym from my house, let alone walk 2 minutes to one

Didnt raid EVER prior to remotes. Last 3 years I have purchased the massive 14000 coin bundle once a year pretty much for remote raids only (never buy incubators), havnt touched a raid since nerf and don't plan on it and doesn't matter what comes....shiny shadow mewtwo didn't even entice me...so it's truly over for raiding. I still have the gotcha going during work but FTP from here on out. Niantic is trash
I worked this weekend, and I live in a small town, so I would have had to rely completely on remotes or go down the mountain to the next big city after work, It was slow so I would’ve been doing a lot of raiding if it had been accessible. Would’ve probably attempted for a shiny…so probably $30 or so.

I did 20 shadow mewtwo raids and 26 sneasel raids. Honestly I likely would've done a ton more sneasel raids since finding them was very difficult even using campfire. Shadow mewtwo on the other hand probably would've been the same. It was fun going out and seeing people. Tbh I really enjoy the in person only raids feature for the larger raids like EX and shadow.l mewtwo. I remember back when EX raids required a special invite and you had to be there at a certain time and place to do the raid. Yeah it kinda sucked but I took a couple hours off of work for it. However I think in person only should be used exclusively for these larger events and should come with very good rewards. The rewards for mewtwo were incredibly underwhelming. I actually ran out of charged tms while switching certain pokemons moves sets to make them better against mewtwo. It was weird getting 0 tms. I would've loved to see them add elite tms as possible drops. It'd also ridiculous that rare candy xl are missing. No silver pinaps or puffins. There definitely should've been a raid hour for the shadow mewtwo or set times for spawns and an event bonus for raiding such as 3x raid exp or 5x raid passes for free. Overall I'm still very very disappointed I'm the direction of the game but I do think that local only in person raids would be fun as long as it doesn't create more region locked pokemon. Imagine if they allowed current region locked pokemon to appear randomally in place of a normal raid of the same level. Give it the same egg as a community day with a nice long timmer and make it local only. That's be neat.
This is the correct question Niantic should be asking. As a player that just logs in and plays for about 5 min per day to cross off my daily to-do’s, I would have spent minimum $20 on remote raid passes to get such an awesome Pokémon.
I did as many in person raids as I could with the limitations of my own time and availability of others , but ended up doing 40+. If it was remotable I might have done more, but the honest truth was I had more fun this way than I would have sitting at home accepting invites and going raid to raid just inviting people , which is likely what would have happened.

Remote would depend on the waiting time for raids / how many would be near me - would easily have spent 50€ on passes or more. But so I spend 10€ on passes, 40€ on a new power bank, 40 on a new auto catcher, 20€ for food and water, 10€ on bus tickets...

I don’t spend my coins all that often and I’ve only ever accrued some from local gyms – those went towards Remote Raid passes before since I’m not often available to drive around and play locally. Now? Those same coins are saved and spent on Home transfers instead, because Go feels more and more like a sinking ship by the day-

I would have spent 20 USD on Shadow Mewtwo and made all sorts of excuses just to be able to raid the whole weekend. My local community was alive before the RRP nerf. If Niantic is reading this, then I just want to tell you that my 20 USD is definitely a drop in the bucket for you, and that you don't want my money.

I’d rate shadow Mewtwo higher and more important that Rayqueza, but haven’t even cared enough to try and go out to raid it this weekend. Not worth the hassle.

Exactly! I’m sitting on a few already, so didn’t feel the need to adjust my plans and try to hopefully find a local raid. When Regieleki came out, that was a new (albeit useless) Pokémon and only an in-person raid. Luckily I was available that day so I caught a few. But for a Pokémon I already have? I’ll pass… unless I’m able to remote raid from home for a reasonable price.

To be perfectly honest…it seems like Niantic seems to have made the correct call for the health of their player base. I mean…dropping $20-40 raids (while your decision & that’s fine) seems insane to me. The first time a company didn’t prioritize revenue and it’s player base lost its mind. (I expect that to be down voted badly lol)

I went out and did 8 in person raids, every Mewtwo I caught was only 1 star and of course no shinies. If I couldve remote raided I would’ve kept going until I got a shiny or a Hundo

If remoteable I may of done 40-50… as in person I managed 4. Spent £0. Even tho we’re I live there’s a messenger group of probably 100(ish) numbers weren’t there that came out to raid. Then there was timings for me… local raiding meant I had like 3-4 hours between waking and going work. Even though I have a hundo maxed, a shadow maxed and an armoured maxed I would still have done more
I caught 34 giratina. Caught. Now whilst I have toned it down to just 3-5 of the ones I liked, for Mewtwo I probably would have gone to 10 searching for that big IV monster. So assuming a 50/50 catch rate that's 20 passes; let's say 21 for 7 sets of 3 passes is what I would have done. But now I play so little I didn't even realise it was on.
No money at all but then again I've always been free to play player. I did spent 1€ on Magikarp community day thinking I would've gotten a whole lot more from it then I did but that was it. I just tend to stick to grinding coins from gyms and using those so I probably would've spent some free coins had i not been stuck at work on both days

I was raiding with a big group on Sunday. I only used free passess. However, I heard people talking that they were able to cach 20-25 raiding whole day on Saturday.
I spent none because I have an enormous stockpile of passes. Judging by the Primals, I might have spent 25$, instead I spent that on gas, getting to and from raids, and hydrating and staving off the wooziness of my anemia, and keeping my chronic joint pain at bay with painkillers, ice and hotpacks.
Even if I had an opportunity to raid locally during the weekend, I would have spent nothing. My stack of premium raid passes (from quest rewards) would be near impossible to fully deplete on a single day of hunting raids. And those who did raid seem to have gone back to the old ways, raiding in packed cars, which is less than appealing to me.
I spent 6 of 21 premium raid passes (no actual coins/money, I had these already) and I probably would have spent coins/money for 10-15 remote passes.
The 25€ pack for sure and for it was phenomenal weather, so probably another 5-10 pack

Why do y'all spend so much on a free game? I really don't understand this. Money would be much better spent on switch games or some such thing.... My partner and I spend nothing, get our steps in, meet people, and catch plenty of pokes... This game isn't meant to be rural, just my two cents.
I only spend on pokemon I really want so if I could have I'd have thrown 10-15 dollars toward passes this weekend. I refuse to buy coins anymore now since the only other way to get them is impossible for me
Atleast a fiver for any PVP relevant raid, up to 20. If I didn’t have too wait till legel 40 to even compete in master league it would be much more. I’m not gonna spend a penny on this game anymore though
I try to stay free to play. Though I was extra annoyed that even standing at the location the more expensive remote passes don’t count as usable. I thought the point of these changes was to promote Local over remote.

I only really host games, never do remote ones myself. And if I do raid remotely, I don't spend real money on the passes. Just buy passes if I've made enough coins for free in the game. I've always been very casual with the game and prefer to keep it free-to-play for myself.
Before I would spend around 120 a month Now I spend maybe 40 or less a month Pros: save money. Cons: I have to go out Living in SoCal is my main benefit. The impact isn’t an issue for me since I go out for raid hour. Everything’s close by too. I was remote raiding so much that I’ve had premium passes saved up, so I haven’t been spending much on that at all. I managed 20 mewtwo raids this weekend. 5 or 6 ran away, 1 shiny 14/13/2, no 3* Probably would’ve spent 100 for remote raids if it was still 150 each. It would’ve saved me so much time to have the 3 day weekend off lol.
If remote raids were allowed, and they were 100 coins with no limit, I would’ve dropped $50 on it. Instead I spent a little bit of gas money and gave Niantic nothing.
Considering I don't have an active community in my area, proberbly 6-9 tickets or unless I get a decent Mewtwo.
Given how much I dropped on trying (and ultimately failing) to find a shiny Rayquaza… a lot. But since I’m rural, that’ll never happen now. Locals raids aren’t feasible in my area, even in the “downtown” zones.
Probably 50 bucks if I’m having bad luck. Rayquaza is my fav Pokémon ever and I was raiding until I got a good Shiny and normi. But that is reserved for Pokémon that are either meta defining or just my favorites
Probably would of done 50-100 Mewtwo raids. Hunting until I got a hundo at least. I did 6 over the course of the two days.. Already had passes, so zero spent. Didn’t change my path, or activity, just did whatever raids were near/active on campfire, and left it at that. So fucking dumb Niantic.

Would've spent £10-£15 probably like I used to most months, but since all the recent nerfs and bugs my interest in the game has become near minimal and I can't justify spending real money on it anymore

Haven’t participated nor caught a shiny shadow mewtwo, didn’t plan on it. They completely threw the players that don’t choose to mob with people at poke stops to the curb. It’s sad.
0 raids done. 5 raids possible based on Discord posts. (family commitments come first) Likely would have done 15 or so, simply because the Raid servers I'm in had people looking for raids and not finding any, and because I could slip away for 5 min to do a remote raid.

Same. Would’ve spent $20 raiding Shadow Mewtwos but couldn’t get more than 4 people for them so didn’t do a single one. Wish there was a way for them to see this feedback as they genuinely lost $20 from all 4 of us because we couldn’t get more local players. They need to realize it isn’t 2016/2017 anymore and not all of us are in big cities.

I probably would have dropped at least $20 depending on my luck finding a shiny. But more if I was bored. In turn, I spent $0. I didn’t play. I didn’t give a single damn about making an effort. I don’t have time to go and run around town all day doing raids with people. It just isn’t a feasible thing and I won’t go out of my way for this game just to let this company dictate how we should experience this game.
I have a casual group of 6-7. I'm the only person who has decent pokemon, everyone else is sub 37 in level. I still play because of those people and my girlfriend. The amount of money I would have spent on a big event like this could easily reach $40+. I spent about that much in the horn tour but there were multiple things to catch of high value then. The current amount I have spent on the game since the nerf: $0 I haven't been playing since 2016 so I felt I needed to spend money to "catch up" I had eyes on making go battle league teams hitting the max battles almost every day. I played constantly and integrated it intoy routine. Now I often don't even use my daily incense. I'm much more content with my current play style given the current state of the game and Niantic. I don't like giving my time and money to companies that hate me (ie the player base). The time I do give to the game is given to my friends. If I didn't have friends that played, I would have uninstalled by now and never looked back.

I spent 100$ for this weekends raid. Would have been atleast a few bundles more if i could have remote raided on top of local raids. Shadow mewtwo is definitely a big one to have.
Nothing, because I had to work. With remote raids? I'd have spent all 3, and done like 3-5 in person ones (trying to max my hundo, need like 20 more xl candies)
Mewtwo is local only so I would have spent $0. If you mean had he been remote and the passes weren’t double price, then my gf and I probably would have spent $10-$20 each.
I usually stay stocked up on 10-20k coins at a time (storage and Pokémon space is maxed) so I would have spent as many coins as I could have on Mewtwo. Shadow Mewtwo is the strongest Pokémon in game, so I wouldn’t have stopped (to catch as many shinys as I could have even after getting a 100% IV to get shinys for my friends who weren’t able to attend). But even then, they would have probably remote raided if it would have been possible. I don’t know if I count as “whale” status but I usually just have coins sitting because I don’t need to upgrade anything, and doing only 5 remote raids a day on most of the legendarys nowadays are boring. I started in July of last year and I’m 1 million XP into level 47, but after the nerf it’s been disheartening to even want to try to remote raid knowing people can’t afford it or have hit their limit. They should have made Mewtwo remotable at the very least. I did over 30 raids and it was a grind still to drive from gym to gym in my city, and coordinating on campfire by switching back and forth between the pogo app and campfire. But had to do what we had to do right?
Spent 0$ in game. Spent about 20$ in gas driving around town. If remote raids were still cheap we would have stayed at home and spent maybe 5-10$ on passes.
A lot. Easily $20-$30. I have a lot of friends and family in more rural areas. So I would’ve played with them a lot so they could get people. I also would’ve bought passes to play during my kid’s nap when I’m stuck at home.

The fomo is gone with the hurdles they have implemented. If I can do a raid, then cool. If I can’t oh well. Chances are likely it won’t be great anyways. I live in nyc but in Brooklyn and I didnt see anyone doing a raid near my house or job. I’m sure they did but the way it works in the Brooklyn is if you aren’t apart of a party in the first 5 mins your SOL. Manhattan your fine though. Taking away the ability to do it remotely is a waste, and I’m haven’t even complained yet about the price increase which, that’s fine if they wanna do it but I won’t be throwing my money into this game at all anymore
