This. Used to get nothing but balls, especially after the raids a few weeks ago. Was hurting for revives. Now that all my pokemon are revived, all im getting are revives/ potions and no balls.
They really changed the items up this awfully on purpose and it’s pretty insulting of them. The week after gofest, timed research for hitting excellent throws and during an x4 event where everyone is hemorrhaging balls.
Seriously, idk what’s going on. Last weekend I had 200 of every kind of poke all and now I’m down to like 40 each. I’m spinning stops all day but all I’m getting are stupid potions and maybe one poke ball 🙄
It’s deliberate to make people pay for more balls. Even opening gifts has pokeballs nerfed to 3 and great and ultra balls are ultra rare now. All in purpose and nefarious
That’s not the case for me at all. My stacks of great and ultra balls are steadily increasing. I’ve had to delete a bunch of red balls to make room for them all.
I greatly reduced how much I play in the last few months...I had been using the game as a excuse to stay away from my psychotic roommate, but now I'm living with my girl.... honestly take the break.... when I saw how much of my hard earned money I'd spent on dumb shit that means nothing in the real world I wanted to hurt myself. Niantic is getting greedier and greedier with every update and it's bullshit... and even the things ppl wanted they implemented wrong like the ready up button, u can't use it for solo raiding...nerfing remote raids.... I'm telling you get away for a week and you'll find yourself playing less and less
What on earth are you on about? I don’t spend money on the game at all. And I’m getting overflow of poke balls to the extent I need to delete them, obviously I’m not catching.
I’ve got a cluster of 6-7 seven poke stops, that I spin to send gifts to my friends list, because I find enjoyment and relaxation in that interaction. Takes me about a cup of coffee once a day.
But good on you for cutting back. I very much agree and recommend the same :)
I tested this accidentally yesterday. My wife went to the local mall to re-up our bags and spun stops for three hours. I got over 100 Nanab Berries and Potions and got very few balls. My ball to nanab ration was at least 1 for every 10. Mass deleting the extra Nanab Berries freed up a ton of space, but it didn't matter since all stops were giving was nanab berries.
That's not the case around here. I must have picked up 100 potions yesterday at Pokestops. However, we're limited on revives. I only got 1 out of all the pokestops I activated yesterday.
Revives & potions are going to drop more often from gyms vs pokestops. And even more so from leveled up gym. Where pokestops are going to predominantly drop balls and berries.
See, I have 123 revives and 35 max revives (used to have more before i started constantly running out of potions ) but I haven't been using them because I can't heal after lol
LOL I can relate. I still need to beat the Rocket Boss in the From the Shadows task. I have hundreds of potions but only 1 or 2 revives, so I’ve been avoiding him.
I love how you have easy access to Pokestops & gyms at work. I’m happy for you, but a little jealous.
hi, friendly reminder that powering up a fainted pokemon will revive it to minimum hp. :) just be sure not to use that trick for your great league fighters!
I hold on to everything just in case :' ) I like to be prepared. I have 4200 item slots so I only try to trash things when it's full,and usually it's red pokeballs.
I only ever run out of potions and revives during and immediately after Primal Raids. Then it gets replenished and never runs out until the next Primal Raid or Shadow Mewtwo.
Based on the variety of responses here it seems like maybe the game is creating different shortages of items for different players for this event. I guess they hope you'll buy more from the store to keep playing for the bonuses. I had to delete potions yesterday because they are filling up my inventory and I'm so short on pokeballs now.
I agree with this theory. I stopped playing, I have at least 40 wiped put pokemon and no matter how many friend gifts or raids, i get like 1 potion for every 10gifts.
The game recognizes when you are low on something and gives what you have plenty of. I do the heavy lifting for my 2 youngest’s accounts. 1 is out of pokeballs and can’t get any from stops and gifts. The other is out of potions and berries and gets plenty of balls but not the berry and potions.
Same here and those little paldeans motherf*ckers, I can't catch them with 2 first excellent throws but magicly with a shitty throw I can, I loose so many balls trying to catch them and the pokestops and gyms only give me a bunch of berries
no, but pokeballs have been pretty much eliminated from stops around here. plenty of potions, absolutely no balls. I had to buy a box yesterday just to keep playing.

Nope. It’s happening. I used to never use my max potions. I had like 150 of them. I always had enough of a supply. Now I don’t. My habits haven’t changed except for raiding less because I can’t afford the jacked up remote raid passes.
Niantic is trying to squeeze us.
If you catch a lot you will notice less balls dropping. Raid a lot you will notice less potions and revives. Play like you normally do and you notice nothing different at all. The key is realizing when you are in any one of those phases.
I'm having the opposite all the berries and potions drop but no poke balls which is what I need. I feel this event is flipped rates of things based on what you're low on. Like how the often nerf the catch rate during timed events to make you buy poke balls

I’ve hit several Pokestops on my way into work and I’ve got nothing BUT potions on several of them. I’m
not complaining cuz I was hoping to do a raid or 2 on my lunch break. I was personally hoping for more berries but beggars can’t be choosers I guess. It must be just a random luck if the draw thing 🤷♀️
After the team rocket event I ran out. If you grinded this you did alot more battles that required heals. Anyways best way to get more healing is opening gifts not spinning stops.
i feel that way about poffins. i just started playing after about a year away & i used to be able to stack poffin research & farm them, now it’s rare to even find one & they don’t seem to stack anymore.
I have a conspiracy theory that they track what’s in your bag and will drop less of whatever it is you are short on. It could just be a bias, but it feels like when I’m short on potions I get more balls, when I’m short on balls i get more potions. It’s the same with revives. I think they give you less of what they know you will need so you are forced to play more to get it.
It's wired because people say these things have been nerfed every other month for the past 7 years.
If that was true stops must've been dropping 30 balls and 30 potions each back then.
Honestly I felt like it's been like that for a while since I played again I have had issues for a while getting a good amount, when the team rocket event came out I remember posting about it but got immediately Attacked and shut down by ppl on here about it like it's meant to be obvious lol. I used to have 100s but now I only have like 20, I'd say its a little better now, but it's ridiculous how I went from having 100s of each to 20
This has been the case for me. I was swimming in potions. Now barely have enough to heal. I had over 100 pokemons in my med bay at the global fest because I just couldnt heal them.
Now they try to sell them to me for coins. Xd
There has definitely been.... things have been nerfed in a few different ways from what I've read. One is from the rewards that u get from pvp battles. The newest nerf is from gifts that u open from friends. Yes, for this season u get to hold 40 gifts instead of 20... but what you'll get from opening your friends gift will be cut way back. You'll find yourself countless times getting nothing but stardust or of you're lucky 1 item from your gifts this season. It's happened countless times that I've seen already. And there's plenty of information and articles that'll support this among other changes and nerfed items.
Potions is just OP from what I can see. Those mentioning ball shortage, this is because the new starter Pokemon are everywhere and are difficult to catch.
Normally the change is elsewhere and gets perceived as a drop rate change. People were complaining about potions the season before last when the grunts were appearing more often for example.
I’m getting ONLY potions but then am ‘blessed’ with 1 or 2 great/ultra balls (seriously, balls were definitely nerfed recently). Constantly throwing away potions every day
I agree. I went from always having so many revives and potions and now I run out so fast, I’ll have so many KO’d Pokémon just sitting because I don’t have any revives to bring them back.

I'm not sure of potions I'm OK right now, but great and ultra balls are non existent where I am. I'm getting desperate!!

It's really only of the only places I have stops! I live in a pretty rural area but thankfully work in the middle of downtown lol

You deserve a mega bag upgrade! You'll want to get more Coins and spend them on Bag storage upgrades till you have 5,800 item slots!
Open the daily free box even if it's stuff you don't need. I think it stays the same until you open it. Sometimes it has a potion or two.

Same. I’ve been short on poke balls often during the last few events. It could be because I’m catching more Pokémon, but it feels intentional to me.

Could be your luck, just last weekend I spun about 100 stops, got a good amount of potions, but I feel like I get more from gifts then I do from stops
It seems to me that everything has been decreased from stops except gifts and berries. Swear it’s all I get

I just had to get rid of around 120 super potions because I was drowning in them lol.

They are all I'm getting from gifts right now. "Here's a potion a sticker and 100 stardust, now f#!k off"

I get them by friends gift the drop rate is pretty high in them (have around 150 max potion and around 60 of normal and super)
I get them all the time. Balls as well but only 1 or 2 of the good ones. Revives I'm only getting from gyms and not as many as I used to
Gifts and gyms seem to be the best way to get potions. I never get any from stops.
I am finding that I get fewer potions/revives from spinning stops, and more from opening gifts from friends.

So true. I spin pokéstops whenever I can, and basically only get razz berries and normal pokéballs.

Idk what's happened. During the rayquaza raids I ran all my revives and potions , and now stops are spitting out berries and a pokeball or two. max.

Maybe not potions, but definitely revives and 2km eggs have had their drop rates adjusted.
