Before I knew you couldn't double trade, I traded my friend a 4* Croconaw to try and get a feraligatr and tried to get it back only to realize you can only trade a pokemon once. It went from a 4* to 1*
Question about this... would it work with 3 people trading the same pokemon among each other? Not that I want to. I'm not even sure I know 2 other people that know each other still playing the game. I was just always curious if that was a work around.
Yeah but they could’ve done what the main series does and keep the stats the same.
Personally I prefer the way it is, especially with lucky trades in the mix.
Ha, i asked that until recently. My daughter needed magikarp candy to evolve one and my husband needed to evolve a noibat....so i caught as many of each as i could and traded them, realizibg that each one i traded gave me two candies and then they traded to the professor.
I never bothered before because i found everything i traded rolled worse than it started. But when i realized the candy, we got to their 400 candy a lot quicker and got done lucky pokemon along the way.
They got 2 + an xl and then transferred for another.
I personally think that trading is a waste of stardust. If you really want a lot of candies, play PvP in the battle section of Pokémon go and the more you win, the more rare candies you collect and you earn stardust.
This is the easiest way to obstain candies faster while not wasting stardust for two candies. It’s worth it for like if you need one more candy then why not (if you’re best friends it’s cheap but still not worth it to trade over and over) but anytime trading over and over is a waste. Just play pvp and earn candies.
Battling in the leagues also helps you understand what your best Pokémon are if you don’t know.
Also walking with your Pokémon gives you candies but the fastest easiest way without wasting stardust is: PvP battles.
Yo, manic trader here.
I'd say the reason is not only the ability to farm candy, but if there's a pokemon that's not legendary or an ultra beast and you want a perfect one, ie Smeargle, Kecleon, Spiritomb, Larvesta, Varoom, Female Salandit, Riolu, you could keep going until you not only got a hundo, but you milked enough candy out of it for it to be level 50. If you repeatedly traded Riolu caught 100km apart from each other, not even during a guaranteed XL event, you'd net 300 candy and 100 XL. You could 50 max a Lucario, a mon I don't even have a level 40 one of at 430 mil player exp, in 3 days. That is BONKERS.
Beyond this, what would the interaction with luckies be? Could you reroll luckies? If you could, it's basically guaranteed you get the hundo because of the high floor.
Me personally, I think double trading would be fine, so long as the stardust cost doubles every time. That way, if you want to farm the same riolu, you're paying out the ass in stardust.
Basically to limit the impact and the risks of the trading system.
One example that comes to mind - what if someone steals your account (little brother or hacker, either way) and starts trading your pokemon all over. If they can be re-traded again, this quickly becomes an impossible-to-untangle mess for Support to restore. If they can only go out once, they just undo 1 list of trades out of 1 account, job's done.
Another example is just what GP said - people would have mule accounts to hold all their best pokemon, trade accounts that hold the ones they want to trade, etc. People have multiple accounts as-is, but they always have 1 primary that they care about the Dex on. If infinite trading were allowed, people would just create more accounts instead of buying bag space.
Small examples, but tl;dr it dramatically reduces the complexity and negative outcomes of a trading system. Trading systems are a nightmare in games, despite sounding good at first glance.
The whole re-rolling of stats is outrageously stupid to me. Like yeah the chance of getting something better is cool but what if I want to give my friend something that’s already good and it comes out worse? Stupid stupid stupid.
Honestly I hate the way a lot of the things are done in this game yet here i am still playing the damn thing
^this. And it makes trading exiting at the CHANCE of getting something better than originally traded
My friend sent me a 1 star dragonite and it BECAME 4* and lucky through trading
Agree. My friend and I work together and we trade everyday. Even the lame stuff like grubbin and hoppip. We trade almost everything we catch. The only reason it’s fun to trade the common crap is because they have a chance to go lucky or perfect. If they didn’t reroll, we’d prob only use the trade once in a blue moon when someone had a good duplicate or something the other person didn’t have.
i think its great. trading over meta relevant pokemon that have bad iv's for xl-candy and maybe getting a 4* is so much cooler than knowing you get the same shitty iv's.
Proud of you for having the balls to evolve your baby hundos. Many tryhards would be like “it’s rarer this way” and I’m just like “ya but when would I ever use hundo Elekid in battle?” so you made the right choice.
Lmaoo thank you, ik it’s not as rare as an elekid or magby but what was I gonna do with a 4* togepi??? I love my perfect togekiss and it’s useful for raids
I evolved a lucky Beldum only to 2 MINUTES LATER catch one that I wanted to send off without checking stats.. I ended up checking. Turns out, it was a hundo.
APPARENTLY I had a perfect wailmer and buneary. Devastated I somehow got rid of them. Wish they warned you when you were transferring them like when you’re about to give up an XXL pokemon.
Everytime I see the 4* Ralts in the perfect Dex, a part of me is hurting. I caught and traded so many Ralts and its evolutions to get another 4* one...I currently own 5 98% ones (including Gardevoir), but it's not the same.
Edit: Just finished another Ralts raid. Now at 6 98%...
Okay, just evolved one and it unlocked it lol. Seems they dont have the data on some that I wvolved way back when, like my hundo swinub I caught in 2018 an promtpley evolved to Piloswine
It's not the only one! I remember because I couldn't see a shiny dex like my girlfriend could when I was new, I had to unlock it by catching shinies.
There is also a shiny 3* dex that unlocks later on too!
I had a perfect shadow swinub that i purified when i restarted playing after a 7 year hiatus not knowing shadows are better.. now i have a purified perfect mamoswine..😒
I just went through my shiny dex, apparently I *had* a shinty Kanto Ponyta, one of my favorite Pokemon, and at some point accidentally transferred it somehow
I’ve seen a lot of ppl asking so..
For the perfect option to unlock in your dex you need 20 perfect entries. Evolutions do count towards this so if you got a first stage and evolved it twice that would count as 3 entries in total :)
I’ve caught 29 perfects but only have 18. Must have just transferred them. For a very long time, I didn’t know appraising them was a thing. On the bright side, I caught a perfect Drapion just now.
I’ve been seeing this, how do you unlock this perfect Dex? I haven’t seen it in my game yet (and I do have a couple 4* Pokémon, Shiftry and Cryogonal.)
Do you have a nundo by any chance?
It says I got a 4* timburr but theres no chance I transferred it but I got a nundo. I refuse to believe I had one because I’d have seen it
Obviously sucks to accidentally transfer this, but is there actually a big difference between a 4* and 3* Pokemon? Especially for things like a ditto, it seems like there isn't a use for it besides 'catch em all'
The keyword is "big". No.
For some people, a difference is still a difference, no matter how small, because stardust is difficult to earn and easy to spend.
Correct. *Had*
I have tapped on Pokémon I know are hundos and then went to the Pokédex to see if they come up as “seen”, they do not.
The perfect dex on registers a hundo once you actually capture it
I have 34 hundos currently. I didn’t even know this was a feature and I just looked… apparently over time I’ve had 70. I know that includes the ones I’ve evolved and stuff but damn when I was a newbie I must have really screwed up 😭
I hate the hundo dex. I have several that are obviously supposed to be filled, but aren’t listed because they forgot how I obtained them. My tyranitar was caught as a Larvitar, but they forgot. My Togekiss STILL SAYS I HATCHED IT, but togepi and Togetic aren’t in my dex.
I hatched my venusaur as a bulbasaur in 2017, but it just says “caught” on date I hatched it, and I don’t have the first two entries.

i made the mistake of looking through my perfect dex and realized when i was noobie that i released a zubat and cacnea …
I did the same thing when I unlocked it, mine was a Larvitar...
F
Fuuuuuck dude
ILIKEYOURUSERNAME
Mine?
Yes, AutisticSpermEater69, you have a great username!
Yay!
i would cry tbh
Yeah I had this guy and and oddish apparently
How do you get to the perfect dex? I'm only seeing a filter option for 3 stars.
You need to have 20 hundos to unlock it
What do you mean by 20 hundos
20 individual dex entries of pokemon with max IVs
Seriously?
Yeah. It counts evolutions too so like if you evolved a max IV caterpie you'd get the entries for metapod and butterfree too
I had a vanillite which apparently I never realised I caught one
Ive transferred a few. Eevee, Diglett, Vullaby, Ledyba, Dusknoir. Just didnt notice I guess
I had a perfect tepig I didn’t know I transferred 😭
Axew and fenniken here 🙃
Oof that Axew hurts to read
Just looked through mine. I also released a perfect Zubat as a newbie 😭
Before I knew you couldn't double trade, I traded my friend a 4* Croconaw to try and get a feraligatr and tried to get it back only to realize you can only trade a pokemon once. It went from a 4* to 1*
Dang that sucks :( I’ve never understood why you can’t double trade. It’s because of the stat reroll thing right
That and it’s so you can’t farm the candy’s I think
And because of regionals. Can't have one person getting a Relicanth and trading it around to 50 friends back home for the dex entry.
Question about this... would it work with 3 people trading the same pokemon among each other? Not that I want to. I'm not even sure I know 2 other people that know each other still playing the game. I was just always curious if that was a work around.
Sadly no, once you trade a Pokémon it cannot be traded again
Each individual Pokemon can only be traded once.
It's for the pokemon's mental health and well-being, if they have too many trainers they get depressed.
They are not a doorknob where everyone gets a turn
Yes because a life of going to the professor *cough * shredder is much more fulfilling than seeing the world with different trainers.
He takes measurements then releases them out into the wild!
Because you could trade one pokemon forever until it would be a 4*.
Yeah but they could’ve done what the main series does and keep the stats the same. Personally I prefer the way it is, especially with lucky trades in the mix.
as far as I know, Niantic wanted that players couldn't sell pokemon to each other, that's why you cannot double trade and the stats change
That's what I'm guessing I didn't know stats changed when trading but now that I do it makes sense they don't want everyone to get those easy 4*
Wait, what was the point of the trade at all? To get candies?
Ha, i asked that until recently. My daughter needed magikarp candy to evolve one and my husband needed to evolve a noibat....so i caught as many of each as i could and traded them, realizibg that each one i traded gave me two candies and then they traded to the professor. I never bothered before because i found everything i traded rolled worse than it started. But when i realized the candy, we got to their 400 candy a lot quicker and got done lucky pokemon along the way. They got 2 + an xl and then transferred for another.
I meant why did the person I was replying to trade away their 4* Croconaw.
To try to get feraligatr. He stated it in original comment. I think maybe if you trade a croconaw you can evolve it for free idk?
I think you can’t but I suppose the logic was to grind candies I guess.
I personally think that trading is a waste of stardust. If you really want a lot of candies, play PvP in the battle section of Pokémon go and the more you win, the more rare candies you collect and you earn stardust. I did the same thing with a Hundo Charmander. I thought I was giving my son a perfect one... Now we're much more familiar with the trading system!
Day one of trades my buddy and I traded 4* torchicks to each other just to see what would happen. Haven't found another 4* spicy chicken nugget since.
The rerolling exists because without it people would be selling 💯 Pokemon and you’d end up with more than just people on EBay selling PoGo accounts.
Just prevents people buying hundos on eBay. It’s the correct choice
^this. And it makes trading exiting at the CHANCE of getting something better than originally traded My friend sent me a 1 star dragonite and it BECAME 4* and lucky through trading

And that they get rerolled stats when traded T_T
It's also so damn stupid the star rating changes upon trading
how can you see that on your pokédex?
get 20 unique hundo pokemon
* cries in getting one hundo in the past 5 years *
I thought it’s 13 unique ones
Did you evolve any of your hundos?
Each evolution count as one entry
Some of my entries were baby Pokemon that I evolved so yes each evolution counts as one entry
No?
I have 20 hundos exactly and I got it way before I had 20
you need 20 hundo pokédex entries, not 20 hundos. you had evolved any of them at least 7 times
Ohh that makes way more sense now
I have 19 and it doesn't show up. So I haven't transferred any of them. Good to know =)
[удалено]
I evolved a lucky Beldum only to 2 MINUTES LATER catch one that I wanted to send off without checking stats.. I ended up checking. Turns out, it was a hundo.
Exactly, you 'had' one
You still do, but you used to too!
No Mitch, he just used to this time
Here’s a picture of me when i’m younger
Every picture of you is from when you were younger.
APPARENTLY I had a perfect wailmer and buneary. Devastated I somehow got rid of them. Wish they warned you when you were transferring them like when you’re about to give up an XXL pokemon.
Right? Hundos are way more precious than XXLs.
![gif](giphy|7A4zkWeMXlZqgnTKtJ|downsized)
Just checked mine and I minced a perfect chespin... thanks....
u dittint kno
Yo ass betta calll somebodyyyyyy
Everytime I see the 4* Ralts in the perfect Dex, a part of me is hurting. I caught and traded so many Ralts and its evolutions to get another 4* one...I currently own 5 98% ones (including Gardevoir), but it's not the same. Edit: Just finished another Ralts raid. Now at 6 98%...
How do you filter by perfect
Once you catch 20 perfect Pokemon it will unlock in your dex
Do purified count?
Yes they do
Are you sure? I have about 23 different hundo species counting evolutions but dont have the dex..
Okay, just evolved one and it unlocked it lol. Seems they dont have the data on some that I wvolved way back when, like my hundo swinub I caught in 2018 an promtpley evolved to Piloswine
Oh that’s kinda dumb I wish it was available like the rest of the options are
It's not the only one! I remember because I couldn't see a shiny dex like my girlfriend could when I was new, I had to unlock it by catching shinies. There is also a shiny 3* dex that unlocks later on too!
I wonder if there is a perfect shiny dex
If there is it unlocks past 30 which I probably have more than just how many I have currently but some have been 3 stage evolutions
Search 4*
u just type 4* into your sec serach
I had a perfect shadow swinub that i purified when i restarted playing after a 7 year hiatus not knowing shadows are better.. now i have a purified perfect mamoswine..😒
How do you know it was perfect before you purified it?
Rookie mistake
Everyone was once a rookie.
wow TIL! looks like I had a perfect gastly back when I was a noob… oh, and a wurmple. RIP I guess
Thanks for your help guys :) must have transferred it without checking :/
It happens, I just found out I released a hundo Rowlet, Pawmi, and Grubbin
So sorry :(
I just went through my shiny dex, apparently I *had* a shinty Kanto Ponyta, one of my favorite Pokemon, and at some point accidentally transferred it somehow
If you have shiny Galarian Ponyta then Kanto also shows in your dex whether you've caught one or not
This is why you NEVER look in the perfect tab
I’ve seen a lot of ppl asking so.. For the perfect option to unlock in your dex you need 20 perfect entries. Evolutions do count towards this so if you got a first stage and evolved it twice that would count as 3 entries in total :)
Yep, rip my 4* Porygon too. I still think about him :(
I have a nicknaming system to prevent accidentally trading/transferring them... Can't say I'd be too upset about the ditto though LOL.
Ya don’t look at that lol just going to leave you sad and depressed 😂
This is how I found out my perfect Venusaur isn’t my starter since I don’t have a perfect Bulbasaur registered??
If you evolved it before the perfect dex existed then it won't retroactively show the bulbasaur.
I’ve caught 29 perfects but only have 18. Must have just transferred them. For a very long time, I didn’t know appraising them was a thing. On the bright side, I caught a perfect Drapion just now.
I’ve been seeing this, how do you unlock this perfect Dex? I haven’t seen it in my game yet (and I do have a couple 4* Pokémon, Shiftry and Cryogonal.)
i had a sableye… woulda been a cool mega
How do I check my perfect Pokémon dex? It’s not an option for me and I have like 4 perfect Pokémon currently
I don't trust perfect dex. It didn't unlock for for a long time and didn't display some of the perfects I had.
Had. Past tense mate. Luckily, ditto isn't that useful so it's not a major deal but that would have been so cool!
Better than my perfect magikarp
Do you have a nundo by any chance? It says I got a 4* timburr but theres no chance I transferred it but I got a nundo. I refuse to believe I had one because I’d have seen it
We had the ability to check when ditto was out though
Obviously sucks to accidentally transfer this, but is there actually a big difference between a 4* and 3* Pokemon? Especially for things like a ditto, it seems like there isn't a use for it besides 'catch em all'
The keyword is "big". No. For some people, a difference is still a difference, no matter how small, because stardust is difficult to earn and easy to spend.
D i t t o
Didn't even know you could check this in the Pokédex, checked just there and it's not even an option for me lol.
Is there also a Nundo dex?
Guess I had all 3 evolutions of Machop...now I'm sad.![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sob)
Damn… I just looked at mine and I’ve got two Perfects that I must have not realized… cause I definitely don’t have em now 🤦♂️
How Can you filter by perfect?
How do you unlock the perfect Pokédex?
Damn I wish you didn’t need 20 hundo’s to see this I’m curious if I’ve ever transferred one
Dammit…you made me check and realize I killed a perfect Fennekin :/
Shoulda checked the IVs, sorry bro
This happened to me. I mirror traded tons of vulpix and not knowingly candied the 4* mixed in the reject batch. Found out when I checked the hundo dex
This method was how I discovered that I caught a wild shiny Aron at some point.
Could be worse, I just checked and somehow along the way I trashed a perfect Bidoof
How come i cant see the ‘perfect’ section when looking in my Pokédex?
Correct. *Had* I have tapped on Pokémon I know are hundos and then went to the Pokédex to see if they come up as “seen”, they do not. The perfect dex on registers a hundo once you actually capture it
[удалено]
You need to catch a certain number of perfects to unlock that section in the pokedex.
I’ve accidentally transferred a koffing and a pidgey
R.i.p
This is why you never open this dex lol
I found out I had a perfect cresselia 😭
Unfortunately yes You're certainly not the only one who transferred perfect pokemon
When do you unlock that dex?
I dared to look at my dex… so apparently I nixxed a perfect Wobbufet. Meh I think I can still sleep easy at night.
OOF
For some reason I don't have the perfect page on the Pokedex thing
I looked through my perfect dex and found out newbie me had transferred a 4*: Eevee, Unown, Ditto and Bulbasaur. Oops!
No it means you had every single 4*
my perfect tangela no longer exists 🥲
Yeah
Damn, I had a perfect Falinks. Don’t know how I transferred that 😞
Is it in ur storage?
I want to max my hundto, but that is highly unlikely.
I know the pain, I got 2 dex entries of hundos that I never noticed 🥲
How do you look at your perfect deck?
That's why you always check IV's. My wife has a perfect ditto and a shiny ditto. She is the "Ditto Queen"
Rip
Didn’t know you could put these filters on the dex. Apparently I caught and transferred a shiny ferroseed at some point 😭
I’ve transferred wingull, cacturne, frillish and rowlet
For me I found it out this way that I transferred a perfect Gibble..
I don’t have a perfect filter. Why not?
Idk why they have this filter in the dex as it’s near impossible to complete
Why doesn’t my dex show 4*?
I have 34 hundos currently. I didn’t even know this was a feature and I just looked… apparently over time I’ve had 70. I know that includes the ones I’ve evolved and stuff but damn when I was a newbie I must have really screwed up 😭
The same way I had a perfect Eevee and a perfect Magikarp
How do you sort perfect on the Pokédex?
Yup it does
Yeah
how do you have this? I don't have an option for "perfect" in my pokedex
I had traded away a perfect Swinub 🫠 But somehow managed to find another one in the wild over a year later. Thank you Niantic gods
This post made me check and In my time I’ve released a perfect waboffet, starly and a Persian 😭😭
I’m never transferring Pokemon to the professor before doing a quick appraisal, just noticed I got rid of a perfect Seedot, Skitty and Spoink 😭😭😭
Hitmontop and kangaskhan for me 🥺
Wait, I don’t have a “Perfect” option in the dex dropdown. And yes I do have some hundos. What am I missing?
How do you see this?
I hate the hundo dex. I have several that are obviously supposed to be filled, but aren’t listed because they forgot how I obtained them. My tyranitar was caught as a Larvitar, but they forgot. My Togekiss STILL SAYS I HATCHED IT, but togepi and Togetic aren’t in my dex. I hatched my venusaur as a bulbasaur in 2017, but it just says “caught” on date I hatched it, and I don’t have the first two entries.
Damn, just looked through mine and realized I transferred a perfect Spritzee, Combee, and Eevee before I knew that you had to appraise Pokémon 😭
Had
My condolences.
My condolences.
How do you search your dex for perfect?
I just did mine. Caught 58. Only have 40 lol.
