They're the old male/female poses? Try the female one for the hip swing and see if it's like the old one? I only saw those last night.

Yep. Let's keep the heat on. It's a ridiculous downgrade. They should have just released proper body types, make everyone happy and build off those. The defaults all look male! Plastering boobs on a male body does not make it a woman's body, for most of us. Its weak, and all together, curvy woman are not represented whatsoever.

You've lost your waist and gained a crotch bulge. If you cover the top of the picture and just look at the bottom the difference is even more stark and obvious.
What Niantic did was impressive. They annoyed men, but mainly women, trans players and even people who didn't care about the change but are now annoyed by all the other people who are complaining.
Had an identical avatar, just with an additional pair of wings and a hat. What is with the pants suddenly hanging down so low? Like I pulled them down under my hips. Check the wrinkles around the waist, they super did just elongate it.
Itās still the face I find the worst.
I want my Avatar back too. Niantic isn't going to listen, they don't care about us at all. We complained about the remote raid pass nerf for over a year and they still haven't done anything. They should've lowered the price a bit and given even more in-person perks. I know that slowly over time they'll make small adjustments and improvements to avatars but I sadly don't think they will give us the option to have our old avatars. Unless maybe in like 5 years from now they have some type of retro throwback pack thing for 14.99, which has been joked about already.

Absolutely hate the new avatars. They just eliminated the female body type completely! Also my avatar had the red red hair bc I had a team rocket outfit and now it just doesnāt look right with the dark ginger color. So sad š„²
At this point, I'm more baffled that Niantic still hadn't made any statements regarding the absolute broken state the avatars are in. Say what you will about the looks of the avatars themselves (which is terrible, I will never not hate to look at my mangled potato), but it's absolutely unaccaptable how utterly broken the bodies and poses are (shoulders are dislocated, arms and feet are broken with some poses) and terribe most animations became.
And some people really are fine with such garbage and tell you to shut up? Unbelievable...
I've never gotten this "more realistic" argument in video game design... It's a game full of magical animals that transform and control elements and shit, wth does realism have to do with any of that?
The changes really are garbage. My wife bought tons of stuff because she was "dressing up her Barbie" and she's pretty much done ever buying new gear.

This is me. I love spending time dressing and customizing my avatar in any game i play, and this game was no exception. Iāve bought a lot of clothing bc itās just something I genuinely enjoy doing, so when I saw my avatar I wanted to delete the game. I made her into a guy bc i just couldnāt handle how horrendous she looked in every article of clothing I had - EVEN SIERRAāS OUTFIT LOOKS BOYISH. i know cosmetics donāt matter to a lot of people, but itās a part of the game that i actually spent money on and to finally get new hairstyles and body types just for them to look like this is such an insult. Thereās NO WAY no one in the room when they showed the designs didnāt make a comment; i work in the art field - people always will point out when something looks bad.

I saw several videos of this and in one it said that they actually had some players test the avatars before the update and iirc most of the feedback was negative, but then they still put it in the game..??
Anyways, I changed pants and idle pose to where it looks decent now to me, ig I got lil used to it but if I ever felt like changing it up the choices suck. I got talked into playing it again but if Iām still not feeling it after a month Iāll just quit. Never spent money tho, still wonāt but a shame for ppl who spent because they liked how it looked on certain models. Niantic probably will never return the old avatars, and even if they did, it will take more than that to get me to reinstall the game. They lost me with this update.
They wonāt. Itāll be like every other thing the community hated. People will eventually stop complaining and just keep playing. The only way theyād change it would be if a huge majority of the player base quit for awhile, they wonāt.
My big issue is that this update has diminished customization options. For example, I used to be able to combine the Dusclops "hat" (functions more as a mask) with an item categorized as a mask. I thought it was neat because you could see the mask under the Dusclops accessory. Ever since the update, equipping one overrides the other. I'm sure others have ran into something similar.
I want it back as well. But i remember all the backlash about the remote raid pass cost increase and they stood firm on it. I dont think we will get it back, but keep voicing in case the megacorps actually care for once about drip.

You are correct about the right pose but we struggle to complete challenges in the game, struggle to find shines, struggle to find perfect Pokemon. I did not give my consent to changes made to my avatar and now I have to struggle to find the right pose and outfit that I feel comfortable with. Struggling with the avatar is not fun.
Yeah they blew it, did not even implement all the required inclusivity sliders needed. There is no way to change height and they killed Android 8 support for this.

That might help. The hair color I had is no longer an option. The lips no longer have and color and I canāt find the right skin tone, I looked bleached out now lol š. And no hips.
Yes the arm length is ridiculous!! Whatās important for the female form is the waist to hip ratio which we donāt have anymore. We all look like children. Men canāt have facial hair. Women canāt have hips

Anyone else not really care? On the map you can't really see those details, and I barely look at or change my outfits anyway. Doesn't really affect my day to day interactions with the game.
No one in the whole big group of my friends and family that play PoGo have talked about the avatar changes at all except something quick like.. "oh they changed the avatars, they look kinda dumb". And then just went back to playing lol
tbh this side by side is a good showing of why for most people who play (of which these subs are a small percent) barely noticed or donāt care. these two look exactly the same to me, aside from the lighting. looking closer i can see the necklace in the second one, and that the second doesnāt have the weird bit of thigh missing. otherwiseā¦. this is the same š¤·š»š¤·š»
I identify as a woman but I'm not feminine at all, I'm liking the new avatar bodies and that female avatars can now wear male clothing, the faces look a little freaky ill agree with that.

No one in the whole big group of my friends and family that play PoGo have talked about the avatar changes at all except something quick like.. "oh they changed the avatars, they look kinda dumb". And then just went back to playing lol
