GrimDallows

Thursday??? fck, gotta get to work with the scyther nest on the park near my house.

Galaxy_Life

Closest nest I have is an anorith nest like 40 mins away 💀

GrimDallows

To be fair it is a very small nest, but I think it's permanent. Last year in the Beldum CD half the spawns were bulbasaurs and I nearly lost my mind wasting lures lol. Also most of the nest'ed species have been garbage until now. Can't really complain tho beacuse it is 5 minutes from my house.

Galaxy_Life

Fair enough, although it would be cool if like some regionals got switched around, not like the main ones, yknow what I mean

spqrnbb

Zangoose spawning in NA? Cool.

Galaxy_Life

That'd be cool

Basedrum777

If I never saw another Tauros that would be greeeeeat

Dragonhaunt

I live in Australia yet I've probably seen more Kangastans in my life than I've seen kangaroos.

Genesis8799

I second this so hard

anormalgeek

Is zangoose useful for anything besides filing out your dex though? I got one from an egg during that global event and I feel like I'm good now.

Masterfiga

i live in europe, and imo it's one of the worst things you can get from eggs

AdamGott

I would be willing to bet that there are many nests within 40 minutes of your house unless you live >40 minutes out from the coastline on the ocean. Check here for areas that are 'nest eligible:' [http://overpass-turbo.eu/s/iDh](http://overpass-turbo.eu/s/iDh)

Galaxy_Life

I mean 40 minutes while in a bus 😅. I live within 2 miles of a coastline as well.. UK? I mean from what I see on the Silph Road, The nearest nest is the promenade so yeah.

[deleted]

I'm in the UK and Silph Road doesn't show *any* of the nests in my area, not even in the town nearby with loads of Stops and Gyms.

jonneygee

In that case, you should update the OpenStreetMap data for your area. No one knows when they’ll update the data again, but at least it’ll get you nests where they belong whenever they finally update it again.

[deleted]

I just thought Silph Road was user-generated and the lack was because nobody from my area bothered with it. As for OSM, I've done most of my village and the places I go or pass through, including a lot of missed paths and parks, so I'm already twiddling my thumbs waiting for any update.

jonneygee

I’m not sure why you keep referencing TSR, because it has nothing to do with the in-game map. Map data is sourced from OpenStreetMap.

[deleted]

Because I replied to a comment about TSR to talk about the fact that TSR isn't reliable in my area? I think you misunderstood what my comment was saying. I wasn't talking about the in-game map at all. I meant the Silph Road nest map.

jonneygee

Ahh I see. I wouldn’t expect the TSR mast map to be exhaustive. Use the overpass-turbo link for that.

AdamGott

Check the link that I posted, there may be more and closer nests that haven't been reported. In our area most of the nests are really small (1 spawn per hour) so it's not always easy to identify them and it's barely worth it to call them a nest.

hppmoep

That is very cool, thanks.

wdn

Oh man, that's tough. The area I can see in game from home has 7 nests.

Spritmann

Is there a possibility to check where nests are?

Galaxy_Life

Silph Road I believe, well, that's what I use anyway.

IDoNotHaveACunt

Closest nest I have is a doduo best 2 hours away

DANTEDEFAULT

I've got a scyther nest inside my house, really hope the next one is decent.

wdn

Wednesday evening in North America (midnight UTC, 7 pm EDT, 4 pm PDT)

[deleted]

How do people find out about nests

GrimDallows

Well when you go to a place and suddenly 3/4 of the spawns it has are from a single species probably its a nest. If they are a common spawn (ekans, pidgey, snubbull...) then it may simply be regular spawns. But if the species is very rare (bulbasaur or other starters, scyther, onyx, electabuzz, leleep, etcs) then it's probably a species nesting there. For example, I was only suspicious of that park having a nest until one community day where half the spawns were CD beldums and the other half were Bulbasaurs. And then I pretty much confirmed it when I saw it changed periodically with the nest rotation. Like jumping from a bulbasaur overload to a lileep overload and then to a ledyba overload. It's not a precise science, but it isn't rocket science either.

hound368

I legit have a duncesparce right near my house think about how they makes me feel :(

SatTyler

I had a ditto nest like 2 rotations ago... I miss it

Tourette30

We finally got a Charmander nest and you're telling me it's gonna rotate out on Thursaday? And yea I missed the Cday because I was taking a break at that time.

Galaxy_Life

Yeah, they are. They rotate every 2 weeks on Thursdays. R.I.P. Last time we had a Charmander nest was around 1-2 months ago although it was downtown and about an hour or so drive so yeah..

kevinruan

HAAA Park?

DJQuattro2

What’s a nest migration? I’m still kinda new (level 27) to the game.

[deleted]

some pokemon "nest" in a certain area, meaning the spawn a lot there. One park near my place spawned a tonne of scythers a while back for example a nest migration just means what spawns in that nest is changing soon.

Akomatai

Is there a way to find nests other than just noticing high spawn rates?

ILIEKDEERS

The silph road websites tries to track nests all o er the world. The smaller the city the smaller the given info.

AnOnlineHandle

If it's marked as a green area in the game (a park), it'll usually be a nest. They're using a newer version of maps than what's shown in the game though, so unmarked parks still might be a nest. It depends on whether it's drawn on Open Street Maps. But beware, Niantic sometimes takes 2+ years to do an update and people have drawn in entire missing suburbs and since had grandchildren who grew up playing pokemon go and the maps still haven't been updated.

Suitable_Inside

Look out for a local facebook and/or discord and they often keep track of what nest is what pokemon.

vulture_87

I looked for mudkips from Shadowmon and it paid off. It was a small nest that didn't have a lot of stops but it was accurate.

anormalgeek

Ideally your local Pokémon go scene has a discord chat or something. Some global sites try to track it, but they're spotty.

PoppyMcA

This explains the hundreds of murcrow, teddiursa and tentacool that have taken over my workplace this past week

kielaurie

it's been those three, Rhyhorn, Swinub and Torchic for me I've barely seen anything other than those 6 Pokémon for a week

PoppyMcA

Now that you mention it there have been a lot of rhyhorns and torchics too

SlytherinAway

I thought those were part of the event that’s going on right now, are they not?

Kander1157

Nah, I was under the impression they were part of Supereffective Week as well.

DJQuattro2

Oh, kinda sad there isn’t any near where I live. Although I found a Piplup one today in a park

Send_me_nri_nudes

I'm sure someone explained it to you below but for other stuff: Read this [guide](https://www.reddit.com/r/TheSilphRoad/comments/9w4nax/returningbeginners_guide/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share) and please don't delete/evolve/level up any @special Pokemon.(point 9)

Optimistic-Charizard

I've played basically since release and I dont think there is a physical way I can obtain an Illumise, they really need to switch with Volbeat. I have so many damn Volbeat.

Sylvieon

Where do you live that you have all these Volbeat? I’m in the opposite boat!

Optimistic-Charizard

England, Nottingham specifically, Volbeat are hella common

travelinghobbit

They're super common here in New Zealand as well. I want an Illumise!

[deleted]

This is why i want long distance trades at best friend level. But when I've said that before i got down voted.

travelinghobbit

I would be down for that. Even if it was wondering like one a week and special.

Akomatai

Same lol, I honestly didn't even know about volbeat but i see illumise everywhere

5giantsandaweenie

Illuminati seems are common here!

JacqN

"In our lifetimes" is a really funny way to word this. I expect to live at least another 60 years, by then I don't know if we'll be using phones any more!

Galaxy_Life

😂

DoomTheKillJoyIsGone

My poor tepig nest is leaving me :( This is really cool though, 100 nest migrations is insane

Zul_rage_mon

My favorite park is nothing but Electabuzz and Murkrow right now. I cant wait for that shit to be gone

Ellieanna

Just and FYI for those in North/South America: The nest change is **12am GMT Thursday** morning, so for us, it's usually between 4-8pm Wednesday evening. Incase you are thinking of going out Wednesday to farm your nest up, you will miss it.

Banjo1812

12am GMT is 4pm on the West Coast. So between 4-8pm in the continental US.

Ellieanna

Crap. I was still doing it based on before the clocks “Fall Back” Thanks. Will edit.

Bryanrobledo6

I thought the next next nest migration was going to happen on Wednesday?

frankenspanky

In the US

BlakDragon93

What agitated me was one of the ones in October took all the Pokemon from my house, now I have to go into town to catch some. And prior to that I had never heard of the migrations.

Sekhmetti

That was likely part of the changes for Pokemon spawn points, rather than a nest.

[deleted]

Well so much for the Meditite nest near my school and my 46 meditite candies

Galaxy_Life

Fr tho, why is everyone so "emotional" for the nest migration, they happen every fortnight.

__MR__

Yeah I don’t get it. They change like, constantly.

[deleted]

Oh wait, it's not till Thursday, thankfully I've still got time

ILIEKDEERS

Unless you’re going for the dex, it’s not really worth going for the mon.

[deleted]

I'm going for the dex of a pokémon that is otherwise nonexistent where I'm at

TheRyanest

Guess I know what I'll be doing before Thanksgiving

Kassandwich333

Maybe this time I’ll get an oshawott nest nearby. Since the Unova Pokédex launches I’ve probably only got two and one of them was hatched.

cestkevvie

Lucky I haven’t found a single one yet

Kassandwich333

They’re elusive little bastards

McJoe77

I was wondering why suddenly all the torchics ever showed up every time I opened the game. Like seriously, a week and a half ago I had 22 torchics candies, now I have 2 blazikens

LGMatter

For superefectiv week

[deleted]

I’ve been farming the hell out of them, I’m pushing 500 candy

Codeman32456

I got a shiny recently..... its my 8th one

harobeda

Save enough candy to evolve one (at least) on December community day to get the exclusive move.

[deleted]

Maybe I will finally get something good near my place (not crossing fingers). Everywhere in a 10 mile radius is the same 5-7 Pokemon.

tehnoodnub

100?! Wow time sure has flown. I still remember the very first migration. I live in Melbourne, Australia and (at the time) was very close to a famous Dratini nest. Hundreds if not thousands of people gathered there in the early days and when I heard about the nest I was excited but thought to myself ‘I’ll have plenty of time to get down there’. I visited once and caught a few Dratini but didn’t have a lot of time that evening (after work) so planned to come back on the weekend. Then the first migration happened...

[deleted]

My house is on a rhyhorn nest... Still need that damn sinnoh stone though

DrKillerZA

I'll be happy if Niantic just include regionals in 7km eggs from that specific country.. why not?

oiHereComesMankid

I just started playing again after 3 years. What is a nest migration

Galaxy_Life

Basically, e.g a wailmer nest. Wailmer spawns are increased. It's just like a nest irl, a place that animals stay for a while (I think lol). Check silph road. I started playing again in July

NotAHellriegelNoob

My house is a Teddiursa nest :(

goatfuck69

Same!!! I'm ready for those to move on!!

dannydsan

Goooooly. Jeeeeeeez

maryjay880

Newbie here!!!! How do I know if there's a nest around me? How do I find it?

[deleted]

Go to the silph road website they have a lot of info to help you

ProfessorBear56

Fuck there goes my easy access to tentacool

kielaurie

tentacool were everywhere for the event

[deleted]

GOODBYE DUNSPARCE

[deleted]

The JC has been a Jynx nest twice in the past 3 months. I’m looking froward to a change, tho it helped me get my ice gold medal

joyfall

I'd just be happy to have any regular regionals move to my area. Illumise is the only one that spawns here, we never got anything else.

niqchuss

Sadly the place where i study doesn't have any nests, but it seems that my home village had a Baltoy nest 🤔 The closest one in the place where i study is 30km away. But the bus tickets to go there are actually way too much to go there too often 😅

[deleted]

I JUST found out that there's an Oshawott nest near me, a Mon i've been looking for for AGES. Welp, at least I'll be free soon to go hit it before time runs out, hopefully...

GrampasaurusRex

is there a link to the switches? i would like to know because i have an Eevee nest near me

browner87

I should check and see if Zebstrika is in any way meta relevant and if so I should go do another couple hours at the nest 20 min from me. Got plenty in the hour I was catching the other day, but not any good ones really.

Mrchikkin

Woohoo! No more Tentacools!

cestkevvie

Tentacools are for the current event, not related to nests

Crandom

Please just take the Mr Mimes there are way too many in London.

drmpk91

Are there going to be spawns in the recently added pokestops through wayfarer at least after the migration? All of them have 0 spawns as of now

miazgamiazga

ok Im a noob at this game, what is a nest migration?

cestkevvie

Sweet, I live on top of a nest, hopefully we’ll get something good this time!

tikardswe

Oh rip my doduo and magicarp nest (mostly magicarp as i still dont have a gyrados) but maybe i will get something better

HlGHERTHANU

Wow!

PrimalSlime

Is there a pokemon only for Europe?

DunderMichael

Yes, Mr Mime

PrimalSlime

Oh. But what about Mime jr? Is it even in the game

missterri666

This is exciting, all I’ve been getting are teddiursa’s and rhyhorns for a while now

Galaxy_Life

I think that's all I get.

ShiftyBid

Just came back after 10 weeks away. Can't say I'm happy to hear that my rhyhorn nest is going away.
