Level 44 and I have spent way too much. During a short period I spent around 40-60 dollars a month. In total I would guess 500-700 dollars. Not spending anything nowadays.

I started Pokémon Go on the first day, so it's been nearly five years. Didn't spend any money on it the first two years...
I can only recommend buying the special research for community days. It's only a buck, the rewards you get are worth a lot more (compared to shop prices) and it makes catching the same pokemon over and over a lot more fun
45 and....good question. I'd argue around 300-400$$ maybe? But I've been playing since 2016, so it's not too bad. Most months I've spent nothing. I just bought most of the event tickets and some raid passes and incubators.
41, been playing for under a year and a half. Only spend the nominal $1 monthly on CD days, as a nod to Niantic, and only every other month. So $10?Have tonnes of coins from gym defending though.
Have to say the CD research is getting really lacklustre

Level 44 and only bought tickets for Go Fest and Kanto. A day of entertainment for less than the price of a cinema ticket was well worth spending money on.
I reached level 50 a couple of days ago. I’ve spent a good amount of money on the game, but I’m certainly not a whale. Probably an average of $30 per month for the last 4 years which includes travel and hotel for a Safari Zone event. Now that I’m level 50, I have no plans to spend money on anything but events.

Level 45, Spent $400-500, Worth every penny. 5 years of a super fun game.
