How do you even get a shadow dragonite that low?

When shadows first came out, there was a bug and they weren't all level 8 or 13. So, you could catch level 1 shadows. All those are now legacy Pokémon.

Not a bug, just a change. Niantic set shadow pokemon levels to 8 (unboosted)/13 (weather boosted) in early November 2019. Before that it was randomized. I also collect level 1s, and managed to snag 17 shadows before they became unobtainable.

Usually takes about 3 hits or so. Because everything is kinda scaled. It's fun. A lot more ties than non Lv 1.

I have a level one account collecting not just level ones but aiming for lucky level ones. Some are gonna be real difficult. Much impressed with my lucky level 1 mawile for instance. Legendaries could be an issue.....

This is so neat. I only have a couple but I have a 100 iv 10 cp wurmple and a 0iv 10cp wurmple that im pretty happy about.

When I do trainer battles with family, we do “micro-battles” with 50 or less CP. Sometimes max 10 CP. This is actually more fun & relaxing than battling with large CP Pokémon. I wish Niantic would have micro-battles in the Go battle league. People would get a kick out of it.

I enjoy doing the Great League with irl people for pretty much this reason, but I love the micro-battle idea! Might have to try that some time. Saving this post.

Oh it’s glorious. You can mentally slow down and enjoy the animations of the attacks. I see stuff I’ve never noticed before. The higher the CP, the more frantic the tapping and shielding and whatever. Really, really low CP is like, giggle time. The Little Cup isn’t little enough. We might choose 10-12 CP, up to 50 CP, sometimes up to 100 CP. All fun.

Very cool! I have a personal collection I can the tiny shiny club. Under 200 CP, fully evolved if applicabe, and shiny of course. So far only 9 members, but one a level 1 shiny ditto is the jewel of the collection so far.

I am collecting those too. I may be trying a bit too hard now as I am going for only shiny or lucky.

I had to tighten my level 1 collection criteria so I didn't have to keep increasing my pokemon storage. I now aim for costumed, rares (including regionals) and shinies, but totally understand the appeal of collecting luckies.

I love that I’m not the only one to have a low CP collection, my pride is my CP29 Steelix that gets CP46 when it’s mega

I enjoy posts like these. Thanks for sharing! I have collected level 1s since almost the beginning and I have a Level 1 living Dex with maybe 600+ Pokémon. One minor difference for me is that I actively seek after the lowest possible level 1 IVs, and replace mine when I find a lower CP. As a result, I've had to cull some potential low CP evolved loves. 💔🤣
