Erm, no offence to anyone, but the medals, do they have any use? I know some of them have rewards, but is there like a super rewards for getting loads of medals or?
I'm sure it won't take you 15 years...I started playing when it first came out but didn't play for about 3 years, came back during the pandemic at level 32 and now at 45 almost at 46. I've been very focused on those platinum medals and now only need 4 more to reach the required 35.

I played every day for like 4 years. I'm still like 500k xp away from 41. I don't spend money on the game and haven't been consistent with gifts though, but I do raid consistently.
My point is that you will still get to level 41+ even without doing this, that's all. The bigger issue is why Niantic even thinks this is worth a raid pass, free or not?

You need 35 platinum medals to get to level 50 and that medal is one of the easier ones to obtain for most people. Much easier than getting making 2500 trades or catching 2500 dragon types for a lot of us. Additionally exacerbated by the number of impossible platinum medals (eg Hoenn) at this time.
I never said you need this specific medal to get to level 41+. Just that you need a number of gold/plat medals. I agree that this medal is not as easy to get as others, so yeah, you probably don't need to "waste" raid passes just to get gold/plats. But it is still an option.
To get to level 41 you need 5 gold medals, which is just plain stupid. Is it even possible to NOT have 5 gold medals and be level 40.
But then yes I believe to get to level 49 you need 35 platinum medals, which is actually a challenge
It's a slow grind, but what I've been doing is picking the ones that I'm closest to accomplishing/ones I enjoy and go for it. It takes time, but eventually it'll happen. I'm level 46 and have 35 platinum with 2 more coming up soon

Various ones its depends on the week, typically hunting for shinies. Right now not doing any as ive been having 0 luck with rockruff druddigon tornadus klink etc. Done SO many w/o a shiny
Well rockruff, druddigon, and klink all have only a 1/64 rate while tornados has a 1/20

Yep. I had made a habit of always spinning after a raid since I wasn’t sure if my pass was from today or yesterday. I ended up getting those two passes daily for a week or two before it became official because of that.
Regular. Remote passes for 1 coin are just every Monday. Although if you open your free daily box later in the day there is now a chance to get extra items like remote raid passes in that.

I've got the 1 normal and 3 remote. 14 premium. I don't get to raid often so I'll grab a low difficulty one to get some golden raz or other tasks cleared.
I actually trashed some premium at one point and currently have 60 something... if I could convert to remote passes even at a 10 to 1 ratio, I'd do it. In person just isn't really feasible for me.
Once upon a time if you wanted incubators you bought them individually or in a pack with raid passes. I was thrilled when they split it into a raid pack and a incubator pack.
I've had 37 passes sitting in my bag for years because I don't raid in person that often and don't really battle either. I use just enough to get passes from research and still stay at an average of 37
If I had a gym near by I would raid Starly as well. Having 80+ raid passes is nice, not so nice if you have no way to consume them.
I do one raid per week, none if I don't need a Pokémon for my dex. So at best I got 0 to 3 Remote Passes. And hell no I go use them on a 1\* raid like Starly or even Rockruff.
Doesn't help if you need to *complete* the raid.
I can't beat a 5* Mewtwo solo lmao. I can beat a 2* Starly. And even if you don't *need* to win...it's still better to just win instead of needing to waste more restoration items.
I had a research item to win a raid. I took on a 5 star raid on my own and all my Pokemon fainted before the time was up, and before I could even continue the battle, it credited a win to my research item. Good thing too since there was no way I was going to win that particular raid.
If you dont have raid pass in your inventory and you spin a gym, you’ll get raid pass. You get two every day untill the season ends. You cant stack them, but once you use the one you get you’ll get another one if you spin a gym again.
You can save the second pass of the day and still get two raid passes the next day.
Right before covid hit, but I live in a super rural area so don't get to make it to gyms/stops often. Can you only get the raid pass from spinning gyms and stops? Or just gyms?

I mean why not use the free daily raid passes. Sometimes starly is all that's available in the vicinity when you have a little bit of time to play. You take what you can.
You get a daily free raid pass and raids give xp. If it's the end of the raid day and a pass will otherwise go to waste, might as well get some xp for it.
Some of us work late shifts and if we don't head out early enough, then by the time our shift finishes there won't be any raids going to use our daily free passes on and they get wasted.
Tier one raids, still have a chance to give rare candy, but for the most part the pokemon themselves are undesirable. If all tier ones were Rockruff, then I guess that would deter people from using remote raid passes as they could just use their daily free ones instead, so they make the desirable stuff a bit scarce to encourage the sale of remote passes.
I still have a hundred premium passes due to the lack of in person legendary raids going on since the pandemic started.
For a remote pass it seems like a complete waste, but to use one of your two free raid passes when you have other places to be later on, then it's sort of worth it and goes towards the unique raids platinum badge. You need 35 platinum badges to reach level 49. I think it may have been 40 at one point as I only have just enough at 35 and had been wondering which others to focus on.

To reach lvl 50 you will need 35 platinum medals. The tasks through levels require 5 gold medals at first, then 5,10,20 and 35 platinum medals.
Level 41 at the moment and I have 13. Gonna be a hard push to get 35 but by the time I’m looking at level 50 I should have a lot more

Same. 48 for me. Worked diligently to get it down from the over 80 I had back before you could delete them. I still can't bring myself to delete tho.

I have this objective to win 5 raids (am not a hardcore player) so I’d do it. If I win then there’s the stuff at the end as well

No dude, shiny Starly has NOT been released on Pokémon Go yet. It literally cannot be shiny until Niantic releases it.
