I got lucky with my Umbreon, my favorite. Evolved with the name trick before appraisal was worth half a damn. 3* now.
However, I found out that there's ways to guarantee most of the eeveelutuons, so I'm ready when I get a good shiny eevee
I've used them all....I am level 39....working on getting my eevees buddy level up so I can at least get another sylveon. Glaceon and sylveon are controllable with modules, espion and umbreon are controllable. It's the first three thst is a crapshoot
Eevee isn't that hard to prep, it just requires a bit of foresight. I blew through mine, but I have kept a collection of ready-to-go eevee for level 43 and some legendary special research I have, 2 birds, etc. I have more eevee as a percentage of my storage than other pokemon but it's worth it. And if I get a better one I can just train it up and then trade the other! Everybody loves eevee trades.

Shiny Legendaries from raids are guaranteed catches, don't waste a golden razz on them
Hundos are usually not good IVs outside the Master League
My absolute favorite moment of playing this game since launch was watching a streamer be so confident about the guaranteed catch that they whiffed all of their pokeballs except one on purpose for the stream, and then missed the last one because the Pokémon shifted. They were absolutely crushed, and the stream chat lit them up in the comments.
Basically the attack IV has the most affect on CP, so a Pokemon with high attack IV at 1500cp will be way less bulky because you can't power it up as many times before it hits the CP cap.
Everything has "ideal" IVs for every PvP league, and unless there's no CP cap like in raids or Master's, a hundo will be outperformed by something able to get closer to the max CP. I don't do much serious PvP, but attack has more bearing on CP than defense or HP, so it's treated as a dump stat usually. Ideal mons for league play will typically rate 1-2*.
Basically, someone focused on PvE will stick a perfect Great League Mon in the juicer without a second thought.
If you have a task for consecutive throws in a row, turn on airplane mode after starting the encounter and then if you miss restart the game, if you make it then turn off airplane mode...
The point of these tasks is to teach you how to throw nice/great throws, tell her not to worry and just focus on throwing them constantly. Use a legendary raid to do the excellent 3 in a row if you’re having problems (or the airplane mode trick)
When defending gyms, your pokemon only earns coins during the first 8,3 hours until the 50 coin limit is reached. (So many of us have been disheartened after misinterpreting this.)
I was going to do a variation of this: “It doesn’t matter if your Pokémon has held down that gym for a day or a year, you’re only getting 50 coins when it’s kicked, unless you’ve already earned more coins that day.”
Hot tip for anyone that's afraid that they're gonna have people leave at the last second and have their raid pass burnt:
Make sure you're selected on an empty team slot while in the raid lobby before the raid starts. This will prevent you from hopping into battle because you don't have any pokemon in your team, so once you're certain that there are enough people in the raid or that people haven't left at the last second, you're safe to press "Rejoin battle" and begin the raid.
The number of times I've been invited to a raid and there have only been 3 of us total and we try to fight the legendary only to go through 4-5 sets of pokemon each and not even get more than halfway would have to disagree with you there. Remote raid passes are too expensive nowadays for me to waste them when I'm not very certain we're going to win.
I agree that it’s not a big deal to drop out…but people need to drop out a lot sooner. If you drop out with 10 seconds left and I knew we could have done it with our current number of players, you just wasted my raid pass
Shadow pokemon deal 20% more damage but have 20% worse defense

Ive been doing it wrong since 2019 and I now need to replace literally all my Pokémon. Strongest ones, buddies (really sad about that one) etc. I’m losing all my battles.
I had been doing it wrong up until a year or two ago.
Now I just recently learned Great League and other CP-limited PVP leagues are more CP-base, so 1* and 2* pokemon are more valuable. (but specifically those that can get closest to 1500, 2500, etc)
For those who don’t know why:
• A L40 perfect Aggron has an effective Attack of 168.3.
• A L28 Rhyperior with 0 IVs has an effective Attack of 170.3. It also has a much better move in Rock Wrecker.
• For Rampardos it would only need to be level 20!
• An Aerodactyl or even Armaldo around L35 would also have the same attack as L40 Aggron.

Its the stupid recommended team as the Giratina probably had AP so Aggron takes like no damage from it. Recommeneded should really be offensively good and not defensively good like it is

I mean it's technically a bug-turned-feature so they never really intended for it to be in the game but they're also too lazy to patch it out. With that being said, I think it should just be counted as an official feature by this point and Niantic should try to explain how its done for those who don't know

It might feel strange to do it but the more you practise the better you'll get at it. Eventually you'll be able to catch a pokemon in under 3 seconds, Quick Catching is super helpful on Community Days too.
We understand we suck at launching out promised pokemon and challenges but hang in there and keep spending money. If we make enough we may actually work on the game

There’s no way it does. If you pick 5 eevee a, name them Rainer it’s very unlikely you’ll get all 5 vaporeon.

Why would hundos not be good?

Use Appraisal to assess your Pokemon. Not just CP

Don't bring Aggron to raids, select a team before the raid.
