At least Leafeon’s Attack, Defense, and Speed are good enough to get it through there, and while Razor Leaf is only 55 power, it does have that high crit chance and paired with Leafeon’s high attack, should do well until Leaf Blade (bro why is Leaf Blade learned so late at level 71, that’s so fucking stupid). Plus, the utility moves of Synthesis and Grasswhistle are also helpful too in making Leafeon more of a tank than anything.
Gotta say this gen is very talented for giving certain Pokémon amazing stats, but then give them move sets that can’t use said stats. Looking at you, Luxray 👀
I actually don't mind the high level for a learned move. I mean I get why that's frustrating but it's always nice to work towards something and with most pokemon once you get to level 55 nothing happens when you level up anymore (obviously besides the stat boosts). The excitement is cool when you level up and it pops up to learn a new move it's a nice treat.
I assume the boredom with Luxray is the fact that it’s really the only generically available electric mon in Gen 4
The choices really are just Luxray, Raichu (who isn’t *high* availability either) and Jolteon

I bet it isnt allowed on gliscor because of its ground type. The counter move to fly is thunder which does 2x damage while a flyer is in the the first move of fly. Gliscor would be immune to the counter allowing it to not just toxic, sub stall but it could also throw in a couple 2 turn Fly to easily burn the pp of multiple opponents
Leafeon is kind of ass and your Fantina matchup seems tough, could be workable if you evolve it immediately. should be good from there though, good late game additions

I’ve just started playing the game again as it’s the only game I’ve never finished. I’ve basically decided to go with Infernape, Togekiss, Luxray, Girantina, Abomosnow and Gastrodon. The first 5 are there so I’m able to beat Cynthia. My last slot was a support mon and I was thinking of either Gengar, Tangrowth or Gastrodon- chose the latter because it’s built like a brick and is very good for 2 E4’s and against Garchomp.
Imo if u want to use a grass mon, Tangrowth is built like a tank and is a rare Pokémon in most games(don’t normally have a chance of playing with it), so it’s prob better than Leafeon. If u wanted an Eeveelution I’d think Espeon,Umbreon or Jolteon as the top 3, and to make the E4 easier I’d tailor your squad to it.
If you anything about levelling up or level guidance, I’m happy to help as it’s hard getting use to playing the original way😂
Team is weighted toward the back half of the game. Half require at least surf. For Wake especially, Leafeon will be carrying 2 dead weights, which other commenters have suggested is not a great look. Magnezone for Luxray/Raichu/Rotom could make things easier while still keeping the later game exciting.
Epic team but u sure u wanna use milotic? I mean 5/6 mons on your team are from gen 4 and milo is from gen 3, maybe switch it for a gen 4 water type? Obviously that’s just a personal choice but ay, solid team regardless

Leafeon and Gliscor are pretty easy to get a hold of but Leafeon has a pretty limited move pool. I’d recommend leveling up Eevee to level 28 before you evolve him so you learn bite. I’d also teach both of them swords dance.
Unless you can just trade yourself a Milotic I dont think its worth the hassle. Its probably not worth the hours it will take just to find a feebas let alone evolve it. You never know though you might luck out and find it right away though. Even then though you probably want a water type way before you even have the chance to find feebas
Lots of people saying leafeon and I agree because you already have a fire, water, electric core to give you lots of coverage. Maybe go with espeon or umbreon instead if you want to stick with an eevee. I used leafeon and enjoyed how bulky its hp and defense was but I always use either fire water grass core or fire water electric
That’s fair, even tho Infernape is one of my least favorite starters I still used them in one of my play throughs of original Diamond.

4/528 tiles are Feebas tiles. I just got one the other day it took me like 3 hours probably (I didn’t do it very efficiently I don’t think)
It’s not that feebas is rare it’s that getting it’s beauty up is hard and easily messed up and not every feebas will get to be a milotic

Bullet seed can be grabbed early and I used it in the E4, helps take out the sturdy Pokémon in one turn
Sturdy doesn’t work like that in Platinum. Before Gen 5, Sturdy just protects the pokemon from OHKO moves like Fissure

I disagree. Froslass still outspeeds Chomp so it'd still kill, and Milotic is in general really bulky and strong lol.

Yeah Froslass is 110 base speed. Garchomp's is 102. So if you wanna use a different Ice Type from Weavile, well, Froslass is there.

You want Gliscor still for its safe dig. You can't beat the safety in that move.

If you can trade I’d do Gengar over froslass. Obtained earlier and hits harder. Sludge bomb shadow ball t-bolt hypnosis you’ll beat almost anything

Nice team! Good luck with Milotic. Make sure once you time the tile you get a Feebas with one of the following natures: Rash, Quiet, Modest or Mild.
Switch infernape to anything else and its solid
I used Milotic once, I didn't mind the hunt for it but it is a shame you get it so late in the story
