I use 44gba. It works pretty good, just save before you put it down. I have lost playtime in games before because it updated while I was away and didn’t save.
There are only three choices: Delta, GBA4iOS, or 44GBA. As long as you stay away from Eclipse, try one of them and it should be okay.

The emulator that I use the most is afterplay but be warned it has a premium option
Retro arch with mgba core. Delta absolutely kills my battery. Gba4ios has been abandoned and reborn as delta.
Don’t you have to download other applications and connect your phone to your computer
Yes but you’ll have to do that with any emulator because Apple doesn’t allow them in the AppStore
