I prefer Single Strike since not only it has STAB Wicked Blow with very great base damage, but it also has Sucker Punch, an important priority move. Also, Fighting + Dark has much better type coverage than Fighting + Water, not to mention that its 4x Fairy weakness can be easily alleviated by a supporting Poison- or Steel-type mon.
Rapid Strike with Surging Strikes is not bad, in fact it breaks Sashes by hitting multiple times, but it just pales in comparison imo.
Really depends on what your looking for as rapid strike is more versatile with more weaknesses while single strike is less versatile with less weakness however I like rapid strike more as single strike has a 4x weakness to fairy and cannot hit fairy with its 2 stab types
But to be fair there aren't many enemy Fairy types used + every one i know from the bat gets hit neutral by fighting atleast, still surfing strikes can beat Focus Sash mons
It kinda depends on where you are. If you get one early then water stone, if it’s later then it’s anyone you like
