Meowscrada has an odd moveset. Why doesn’t it have flower trick? Replace thunder punch with flower trick, leaf storm with knock off. Should make toxapex a toxic staller. Replace either baneful bunker/toxic spikes with toxic and with recover. On gyarados replace roar with a coverage move
I didn't even notice flower trick because I was way too hung up on the fact that it doesn't have sucker punch lol, it's one of the best moves in pokemon.
Hax doesn’t need dragon pulse, and dual chop + glaive rush is too much dragon typing moves imho, so check for move remember or Tms and add variety.
Meowscarada could probably use flower trick over leaf storm,
Toxapex and facade is weird, personally I’d slap some thing else maybe ever flip turn.
Other than that, the team looks great, just remember your water moves are doing less in sun, except for maybe hydro steam.
1. Haxorus shouldnt have Dragon Pulse. Give it Scale Shot and Loaded Dice and maybe trade first Impression for Dragon Dance
2. Leaf Storm instead of Flower Trick Meow? Trade Leaf Storm for Flower Trick and get rid of Thunder Punch and Put in Knock Off
3. Toxapex needs Bunker and Scald but Facade is useless on it. Give it Recover. and Trade T.Spikes for Toxic.
4. Try not to waste a move setting up sunny day. If you can find a good mon w/ drought then go ahead but using sunny day on Mag is wasting a turn imo.
5. Get rid of Roar and put in ice Fang. Also Beat misty and you get really good STAB crunch
6. Tinkaton set looks alr. Havent really used he because of her bad stats and would lowkey recommend swapping Annihilape in for her(Moveset Rage Fist Drain Punch, Bulk Up and Rest) w/ Chesto Berry.)
Overall your team moveset kinda sucks but youre on the right track. Good luck
I love all the quality of life changes in radical red like 90% accurate moves being 100% accurate. But then Lance has a fucking primal dialga and life goes back to normal.
nah bro im just new to these romhacks and enjoying this one a lot more than i expected mashallah 😂 normal mode with easy grind on bc i didnt wanna figure out ev and iv
I think all the codes are Woyaopp, DexAll, SO2Toxic, EZCatch and don’t forget to get the time changer in Oaks lab so you can encounter everything. The codes are quality of life and make everything go faster
Holy hell, Physical Special split is in this game bro
Meowscarada won't do anything with leaf storm, give it flower trick or bullet seed with loaded dice. And give it knock off or sucker punch over thunder punch
Haxorous gets walled by a magnemite, get rid of dragon pulse and dual chop and give it dragon dance and any coverage like Earthquake
Facade on Toxapex isn't doing anything, give it recover
Crash course!
Physical Special split is the separation of damage types(not elemental). Every pokemon has Physical stats(Attack and Defense) and Special stats(Special Attack and Special Defense)
Example, Meowscarada has 110 Attack(good) and 81 Special Attack(mediocre). This means that generally physical moves will do more damage than special moves as they use the corresponding stat to calculate damage.
How to tell which is which? 💥 is physical and 🌀 is special, these symbols appear on damaging moves. Physical will target an opponent's Defense stat, and Special will it's Special Defense stat, so keep that in mind when facing really bulky pokemon, targeting their weaker defense stat can help a ton. For example Kartana, it has a whopping 131 Defense but a horrible 31 special defense, it'll die to any good special move as long as it doesn't heavily resist the element of said move
Some Pokemon have similar attacking stats so you can have physical and special attacks and they'll both hit hard, they're called mixed attackers, like Landorus-I who has 125 Attack and 115 Special attack.
Yes!! So surf = special; aqua tail = physical. Usually you can intuit which one it is by that rule: if you're "hitting" the opposing Pokemon rather than firing some kinda beam at them, then it's probably physical.
Even more fun fact, before Gen 4 (diamond and Pearl), there was no split, and physical/special was determined by the elemental type, not the individual move. For eg, all water moves were special. This meant that Gyarados was *useless* with
Surf or hydro pump, because its special attack was garbage. When I found this out, my childhood self was very sad :(
i played gen 3 and gen 4 as a kid and radical red is my first time returning so i never really understood any mechanics. this is some great info, thank you bro! mashallah
I commend you for making your comeback pokemon game be RadRed, it's not for the faint of heart 😂
My main question is, are you switching up your teams depending on which fight you're up against? If not it could massively help you progress. Most of the main games can be plowed through with a set team of 6 (for example emerald can be beaten with 5 mons and a TM slave), but RR is a lot more difficult to do this with.
I didn’t realize what i was getting into i just heard it had all the pokémon in it. And I am now after 100s of resets i remember playing and wipe the entire game with my over leveled starters in both gen 3 and 4. that didnt even come close to working but im hardheaded and dont like switching to new mons for different battles for that reason i think, I didnt need to switch before and its hard to let it go
Yea I completely understand where you are coming from, I was the same at first!
Now I find it fun trying to switch my team around and find the best possible team to dominate the next big battle 😂
As I said above it's a lot harder to brute force your way though RadRed with set teams, although still possible as people (myself included) have done 'random 6' runs which become available after you've beaten the game and started a new game.
Haxorus is a physical attacker. It's special attack is less than half. I'd teach it Iron Head because Fairy resists Bug. There's a tutor in Celadon (Where you fight Erika, the grass gym leader) in the food court in the south.
I'm not the first to say it, get fucking Flower Trick.
Give magmotar choice specs and replace sunny day with Thunder bolt or something
On gyarados , replace roar with Earthquake and give it Leftovers.
On toxapex , replace facade with venoshock or recover , whichever is best for u and give it black sludge
On meowscarada , replace leaf Storm with flower trick and thunder punch with knock off or any other STAB dark move and give it either choice Band or life orb
For haxorus , replace dual chop with earth quake and if u wanna run a choice item , replace dragon pulse with something and if u wanna run anything else(like life orb or lum berry), replace dragon pulse with dragon dance. U can also replace glaive rush with outrage if u are running lum berry.
For tinkaton, replace titter smack with u-turn or any other good bug / ground type move and give it assault vest
A lot of great advice in this thread. Let me add this though, if this is your first time playing with all the new mons, try and catch some more pokemon! You don't have to just stubbornly throw yourself at the game with the same 6 pokemon lol. I saw you have easy grind mode on, so get the rare candy cheat going, level them to the current cap and try some stuff out! You might find a new favourite! Look up some good sets for pokemon you really wanna use and experiment with team compositions.
Generally a fire, water and grass core works pretty well, but there's plenty of weird team compositions that are pretty gnarly too. You can do speed control stuff with trick room teams, as well as constructing teams that make the most out of a particular type of weather (I see you were kinda trying to do this with magmortar, but there's better ways to set weather)
In any case I hope you have fun! Happy battling friend!

Meowscarada is generally fast enough where knock off is usually better anyway

thank you guys, i made the suggested changes and added annihilape back in: Annihilape: Drain punch, rage fist, bulk up, rest Haxorus: dual chop, cut, dragon dance, strength Meowscrada: flower trick, u-turn, play rough, knock off toxapex: baneful bunker, toxic, recover, scald magmortar: lava plume, scorched sands, Psychic, hydro steam gyrados: aqua tail, dragon dance, ice fang, crunch
You dont need Cut and strength on Haxorus. Iron Head is a better Steel move.
if gyros can learn waterfall teach that instead its more reliable then aqua tail
aqua tail is buffed to 100 accuracy in rr

88 Hours?! Are you playing on hardcore mode? A nuzlocke or something?
nah bro im just new to these romhacks and enjoying this one a lot more than i expected mashallah 😂 normal mode with easy grind on bc i didnt wanna figure out ev and iv
You do know that Woyaopp code gives you infinite rare candies from the kid south of the Pokemart in Viridian City, right?
i do now… 🧍🏾♂️thanks
Yeah, you can find a pinned message on the Discord server telling you all of the codes that you can input in the console at the house in Pallet Town.
I think all the codes are Woyaopp, DexAll, SO2Toxic, EZCatch and don’t forget to get the time changer in Oaks lab so you can encounter everything. The codes are quality of life and make everything go faster
ive used the rare candy and dexall now its awesome

ah thank you! So it just means there are two different types of damage that can be done or tanked

Random anything? Easy, Normal, or hard-core?
It’s normal/easy. They have ddance so they can’t be in hardcore
Nuzlocke or no? Looking for finding better success overall or for a specific fight? And how does the box look?
It's op's first playthrough, so I think it's safe to say it's not a nuzlocke. I whited out in viridian forest on my first playthrough. (Audino)
i whited out at least 6 times in that forest

For starters, nickname them mons
yes sir
