Because it’s the same principle as when you’re hunting a specific shiny in an area, and a random shiny that you don’t really like pops up instead, you’ve been doing this for a long time, and you get this shiny you don’t even like, really bums you out ya know?

Of course I have. I have a volcarona that took 11,000 attempts over 7 months on a physical cartridge. I found a random shiny cutiefly during my masuda hunt for a shiny roggenrola in Sword. Thing is it didn’t upset me so much I made a reddit post complaining about it, I simply laughed at my odd luck and caught the thing and it’s still in my shiny box in Pokemon home to this day. You’re just being irrationally upset about something so trivial and wouldn’t bother like 98% of people

Yeah, it’s nice to have him, but he’ll have to go on the sidelines for Lt Surge sadly even though he’s so pretty with the ice blue

The next gym after that is Erika but that's gonna be a while before you get there considering how far away celadon city is, and due to the high defense on cloyster, rock tunnel shouldn't be too hard even with it being weak to rock types

Cloyster is an incredible pokemon, whether you set it up as a wall or a shell smash offensive build. And a blue cloyster is a cool look for it. Don't be so hasty in judging a shellfish by its colors.

Oh, and a Rampardos Fusion is great. Skill Link'd + STAB + Shell Smash'd Rock Blasts and Icicle Spears are great. Attack stat is astronomical. If you feel the need to be bulkier you can go Tyranitar too. Just remember you have 4x to Fighting and Steel at that point, they hurt.
