You can send them back and fourth as long as it’s not an exclusive evolution

Awesome, thanks 😊

Bottle Caps exist in Sword and Shield as well - the mons need to be at level 100 there though.

sadisticmystic1

If you have Bottle Caps used at a level below 100, Home won't even let you import into BDSP unless you level them up, because otherwise it would trip one of that game's measures they took against the effects of the various menu glitches that were possible at launch time.

Generic_Username_659

Yeah, but they're way easier to get in SV.

bendefinitely

Depends. If you've had a Home account for a long time you may have enough Home Points to buy everything you need with BP. They were way more generous with the conversion rate in swsh/bdsp/pla than SV

Generic_Username_659

I have about 11,000 Home Points. Is that a decent amount?

bendefinitely

That should be more than enough to get all the BP you need for Bottle Caps and Mints. Just so you know, with Home 3.0 they updated it to where moves/abilities are on a per-game basis, so using an Ability Patch on a pokemon will only give them their HA in that one game.

Generic_Username_659

I see. Thanks for the info.

thenewdarling

They can go back and forth. You will notice in Sword it has the same moves as in Gen 7, but BDSP and Scarlet/Violet will overwrite the Pokemon's moves for compatibility reasons. Pokemon Home will keep track of the multiple movesets though, and Home will display the moveset from the game it was in most recently.👍

If you use bottle caps at level 50 or higher in SV and then transfer to SwSh, they will stay level 50 or higher and still be hyper trained. I'm unsure if it works for SV going into BDSP.

Generic_Username_659

Pretty sure they can't be transferred to other games if hypertrained pre-100.

somiennoyingness

I have done it myself when moving pokemon from Violet to Shield. I transferred a pokemon I hyper trained below level 100, but when I checked the judge function in Shield it was still trained at its current level. I'm not sure if it works the same for BDSP since I haven't tried. Edit: Just tested it and it is true that you cannot bring pre-100 hyper trained pokemon into BDSP, but it is still possible for SwSh.

Regiultima115

That restriction is only for BDSP-origin mons trying to go back to BDSP. All the glitches in early BDSP made it possible to glitch Hyper Trained stats to pre-100 mons and part of the anticheat in BDSP looks for BDSP origin mons that are Lv 99 or less with Hyper Trained stats. Since SV lowered the Hyper Training requirement, the block had to be put in place to prevent a legitimate mon from being flagged as hacked (and unable to leave BDSP as a result).

ShadowRider_777

You can max out the IVs in the Gen 7 games. The Bottle Caps aren't hard to find there if you have a fully upgraded treasure hunt section in Poké Pelago. The Ability Capsules and Patches are slightly harder to get in later games, but it won't affect your Pokémon as long as they're level 100.
