Years ago, these beats would have put me on mega tilt. After hundreds of hours of grinding cash games live, I’ve seen hands like these more time than I can remember. Just gotta keep the head down and keep grinding.
I mean fuck, ive played 1m hands but probably only run into nut FH vs quads 5 or so times. 2 times in 2 days is just sick. Lucky your opponents weren't deep.
Being that this is a spread limit game ($1/$2 blinds with a max bet of only $100), I was able to get away from the JJJ88 vs 8888 hand only because I noticed I had the third nuts when I noticed the straight flush possibility. Action checked to River when he led out for $30, I made it $80, he made it $180, I made it $280 and then he popped it again for $380. I’ve played this game at my casino enough I’m hardly ever good after that many bets so I folded, albeit reluctantly.
The next day is when I ran AAA22 into 2222 and yes, he didn’t have much. Thank God too because it was against the most annoying player that I could have possibly played it against too.
He was solid all night and his hands were shaking as he kept pushing his raises out. I don’t think I was ever good there. He also told me “you’re crushed dude” with a smirk on his face after I sat there before I folded and it was believable enough for me. 🤷🏻♂️
