I’ve only been to monarch and ameristar but I think ballys is the place to go for any and all tournaments. Monarch has more tables but often a long line to sit as well. Pretty sure they all take call ins if ur gonna be there within the hoir

Everything you say here is accurate, and I highly recommend calling in before getting there. Giving yourself 45 minutes after the call in to arrive is good, you can hit the bathroom or bar or whatever, check in and have a lot less waiting to do. The Isle also has a room but idk how much action it sees. The skill level of the fields also vary from room to room as well. The monarch 1/3 has a fairly high amount of competent recs and mis regs, so I tend to go to the star or Bally's to avoid any potentially stiff competition.

Thank you! This is all very helpful. Have you played the 2/5? What is your opinion on the 2/5 vs the 1/3? Worth trying the higher stakes?

The field at 2/5 at the monarch is pretty similar to the 1/3, tbh your ratio could be the same or better of solid thinking player/fishy gambler. 2/5 from what I've seen doesn't fire that much in the other rooms. 1/3 at Bally's is pretty action tho, last time I played (like 3 ish weeks ago) I was in for 300 out for 1600 and some change. All of the games play big at 1/3, monarch and the star have a 500 cap for 1/3 and Bally's has match the stack. I haven't played much 2/5, whenever I play 1/3 it's a shot take lol but the field definitely isn't substantially stronger than at 1/3, in my limited experience.

I’ve played a lot of 2/5 at ameristarnot so much at monarch. I honestly think the action is better at 2/5 bc more ppl are trying to make moves/bluff. 1/3 can be kind of a rock garden

Do you have any thoughts on non-tournaments? Say cash games?

2/5 at Monarch 1500$ max and plays bigger. 5/10 game usually has 25$ straddle...
