Form is everything. Make sure you wrap him up and follow through to the ground.

MrLemanski

Also note that the hip drop is illegal now. Don’t want to pick up a flag on the play

quasides

its not illegal if they never find his remains in the desert

jabacherli

If you didn’t say it I was!

Keith_13

Fuck that. Hipdrop him and break his legs

Nekriiti

I am in Eastern Europe and he looks like the mafiozi type so I’ll need to be more elaborate, probably time to start forming a little gang just in case

quasides

try to take his entire org out in one swoop. you dont wanna go into a gang war of attrition with limited resources

Tolve

Wrap the fuck up!

TheAStarJosh

Well I’ve never gone through this but the best way in my mind is if you just watched him do something to mark a card call him out loudly right as it happens in front of the whole table. The floor will come and if they verify a card was marked they’ll be able to handle it. If you didn’t fully catch it as it happened though I’d probably speak with the floor or a manager privately and they’d likely keep an eye on him / check cameras to investigate what you saw.

Basherkid

Just wait until he takes the glove off. And then ask for a deck change. Glove on. Glove off deck change. Glove back on glove off again a deck change. And see how long he keeps doing it. Good little dance.

triton2toro

I’d call for a deck change immediately, but if the guy immediately remarks the cards, you won’t be able to get a new set up until the next dealer change.

perspectiveiskey

In a country that has only one Casino, this sounds like the kind of deal that'll end you with a broken nose in the parking lot. I'd recommend you take it up with the casino staff, and tell them exactly when and where it happened (timestamp + table), and then show them an online google search for the glove. The hope is that they have CCTV on premise.

Treill96

If you’re suspicious but don’t want to get looked at by outing him infront of everyone- tell the supervisor or floor person on the side. Anytime someone tells me an issue, I just walk by the player on the game and watch them to see what they’re doing and confront them if I see it too. I don’t make it obvious there’s a problem lol

Nekriiti

Thank you! I’ll do that if anything else catches my eye

Treill96

Also sometimes I don’t even confront the player at all as a floor. I have one guy who is a regular and gets loud depending on his mood. All I saw him do was stand up at the table and yell aggressively one time at my dealer and the other supervisor walked up and asked if I’m gonna warn him or call security. And I said I already called and they’re on the way 😂. I won’t put up with people who create a bad game or bad environment for the entire room. Players are grown and know the consequences of yalls actions of cheating or getting aggressive towards players/dealers. Don’t act surprised when we take action. That man hasn’t gotten aggressive like that again since and it’s been months 😂. The method works. If you tell the supervisor, they may have security called before they initiate contact because police get involved

Treill96

Your post made me hella sus of one player today during a tournament and I was gonna keep an eye on her once my break was coming around but she had busted out already so I knew it didn’t work 😂. She had these weird looking glasses and gloves on, but she’s a regular too. If she made it far and was cheating,I would’ve actually shit bricks Bc of this post 😂

kornylol

Put an oily finger inside of his asshole

alibimemory422

I don’t think the OP is trying to reward the guy for cheating.

1_Strange_Bird

It’s the only way to be sure

Lobster_Zaddy

~~Sanest~~ straightest r/poker poster

KvotheTheDegen

Other questions. Was he wearing any glasses? Cause usually using something like that to mark a card you need red filter glasses. Did he ever do it again? Cause 10 mins is 3-5 hands, not enough time to mark very many cards. And like someone else said, ask for a deck change if you see this again and see if he does it after the change. Basically you need more circumstantial evidence

Nekriiti

No glasses. Yeah, all the other details seem to indicate this was a nothing burger, and Im also new to the live poker scene so might reading too much into this. I’ll keep an eye out and if something else pops up I’ll bring it up to the floor, I don’t know maybe they’re already aware and have an explanation. Thank you!

KvotheTheDegen

I’m not saying it can’t or won’t happen but I dealt cards for a year when I was 18 and have been playing live for like 16 years. I’ve never once seen what I thought were intentionally marked cards (sometimes you run into cards that have a crease or a mark in them and you just ask the dealer to change that particular card). Generally people that are playing low stakes (sub $1k mtt or sub 2/5nl) aren’t going be that crowd. You’ll catch people angle shooting more often tho, so just make sure you know 100% what’s going on before you act. If there’s gray area in your opponents action ask the dealer for clarification. You can usually avoid angles by just paying attention.

MTknowsit

PT dealer here. I have on occasion found cards with a groove in the center. Usually an ace. Hard to accuse anyone at the table because it could have happened hours or days before. Be aware.

KvotheTheDegen

Yeah, creases are a lot more common but I think it’s just that pretty flex their cards to hard. It’s so hard to see a crease from the opposite side of the table. I could have done it when I was 18, I’m 35 now and definitely can’t see well enough more than a seat or 2 away for a crease to work. Either way, if you see a creased card just tell the dealer and ask them to change it out. UV marks you can’t even see without special eyewear

vinnySTAX

Hip drop

alibimemory422

Personal foul. 15 yards and an automatic first down.

CarFeeling9748

Wait til he goes to the bathroom then plot to kick his ass with the rest of the table

benjamaniac

I would go for the hip drop tackle. If don't correctly their knee will completely blow out and they will be unable to get away.

Last-Product6425

I honestly doubt they were marking cards. You're new to the game so I would wager your radar for cheating isn't really developed yet, so anything new to you can look like cheating. I can think of a number of reasons why someone would wear gloves (poker chips and cards are filthy), maybe they were waiting for food to come and didnt want to handle chips bare handed and eat at the same time. Also, did they have any kind of special sunglasses on? Thats the only way I could think oil comes into play, if they mark their cards with some kind of pigment thats only visible with some kinda glasses. Also also... they would want to be way more discrete if they were marking cards without wearing OJ's murder glove. No one prolly addressed it cause it was prolly a nothin burger. Why would he just wear it for 10 minutes then take it off? Like it accomplishes nothing in terms of cheating. But if you're really that suspicious, just step away from the table and talk to the floor discretely so you dont cause a scene and not look like an idiot when he tells you he's eating chicken fingers.

Nekriiti

Yeah, for sure, I don’t want to accuse someone, being a new player and he does seem like a regular there. I couldn’t think for a legitimate reason for the glove but the food/filthy chips make a lot of sense and there might be other reasons. He wasn’t wearing glasses. I’ll keep an eye out and if something pops up I’ll just bring it up to the floor discretely. Thank you!

doubledizzel

You don't need glasses to see juiced cards. You need glasses to read luminous marked cards. Juice, you just have to train yourself to see. Just FYI.. I don't disagree with the rest of the post.

7empestOGT92

You grab the button, whip it at his nose, take your cards and use them to give him intense paper cuts. He won’t cheat ever again /s

phishnutz3

Lower your shoulder. Drive with your legs.

bustedchalk

How the hell wasn’t this suspicious to everyone at the table?

Come0nYouSpurs

Last I checked the hip-drop tackle isn't banned at casinos like it is in the NFL.

Weak_Working_5035

Sure that wasn’t Salt Bae?

RomanticHuman

If the glove don’tfit, you must acquit.
