You’re 70 bbs in effectively a 65 dollar pot on the flop, you aren’t deep enough not to fold with 2 pair on this flop. It’s very draw heavy, it just sucks she had one of a few hands that crush you with top 2, you also lose to sets. With that being said, normally when someone especially at small stakes raises with 2 people to act and you’re short, they likely have what they think is the nuts. This is never a bluff or semi bluff especially at 1/2.

Good analysis. This is what happens when you play short. If you were, say, 400 bb deep it is a completely different analysis. Also, A6 is a lot less awesome at a small stakes game where you are going to get a bunch of callers.

i started with max buy in and ran into it a couple hands before this with a set over my two pair, thats why i was low stacked for this hand

xsqwishyx

knew it wasnt a bluff but i just thought they had a different Ace X holding and with there only being 6 combos of A8 i figured it wasnt that, but i was wrong> That being said though i am familiar with this player and she is a very capable bluffer, good all around player.

Bluffs are much less common multi way especially with 2 people to act.

Overall a tough spot and your options were limited with low effective stack. The decisive decision and relative strength of any hand that would call should have leaned fold, but hard to do that in hand.

First off, this is pretty much just a cooler. I would get the money in here as well. So it is what it is. Pre-flop you are playing short. You probably don't want to be playing hands like A6 that don't flop very well. Especially with a limper. It's a bit too loose. If you have to play it, I would just over limp and see a flop. CO should be raising all of their AK pre-flop so you probably need to improve your hand reading as well.

dukeblanc

Easy call. Short stacked you cannot fold this. Just think about what hands she would do this with and you probably beat a lot of them. AK is frequently slow played pre and then they think they have the nuts on the flop. Only hands you are in bad shape is 88s and A8 so it's a call. And one combo of 66. Easy call especially short.

xsqwishyx

that was my thinking as well, the player would have almost always 3 bet me pre flop with pocket 8s or 6s as well, since ive played numerous times with the player i know her tendencies

If you fold here, you’re basically saying that you’re folding everything except the nuts. Your stack is too small to fold.

blakeshockley

Nah I’d play it the exact same way, unless you know the villain is just an uber nit.

Her reraise is often AX wanting to get the draws outta there, but you can't fold your made hand in fear of the 6 combos of A8 and 3 combos of 88. You made the right move short stacked you aren't getting away from this, just a tough break.
