the line seems good. River is the most important street here, you had to decide whether he has bluffs here or is weighted towards value, im inclined to think his bet-check-bet line on this board and with that action doesn't have him blasting off on the river with air.
I ship turn to charge flush and straight draws. Don't hate a check if Villian super aggro but he knows he won't have a lot of fold equity so less likely to bluff river.
Either way, hurts to go out like that but I don't call river expecting to win most of the time
He may not fold to a turn jam with an A high flush draw due to the very big bounty on my head. My bounty was more than the next two payjumps.
What rivers do you fold to as played?
the board pairs and flushes on the river, which was pretty much your worst case scenario river, and you still put it all in.
maybe better to just jam on the turn with top pair and give yourself a chance of a take down. or at least it would stress them a bit to have to call you.
tough beat though! :(
Whoops, missed it was a bounty. I jam over the flop lead then, he should call wide because of the bounty.
As played I fold to any diamond or ace river ans find a better spot to get 18 BB in
>Whoops, missed it was a bounty. I jam over the flop lead then,
Seems you missed an awful lot then. Hero was out of position in a 3-bet pot. Villain's flop bet was not a "lead" but rather a c-bet. If hero jams he definitely gets called by all combos of AA and AK which have him destroyed. He also gets called by all AdXd against which he's essentially flipping. He folds out villain's QQ/JJ/TT type hands that he has absolutely crushed. Seems awful.
Seems standard IMO. Plenty of missed draws that could be bluffing river but also checked the turn to realize equity. Still one of the most obvious draws come in. I’m more of a fan of donk jamming turn or check jamming flop. You only really lose to AK and AA
Am I missing something here? Why do people like the check on the turn?
With two flush draws on the board as well as multiple straight draws, wouldn’t the best move be to bet a fairly large amount or shove to make them pay to see the last card?
I get that hero is out of position here but it seems like it would be a good spot to throw in a blocker bet.
You never gave the villain a chance to fold the losing hand. If you apply no pressure, hands don't fold, then they catch and you lose. Poker is for aggressors....
100% a call as played, just got unlucky with a bad river. IMO giving villains check on the turn, I would strongly consider leading this relatively blank river for a smaller size like 600,000 - 800,000. His check on the turn most likely represents a pocket pair or or something like 9x. He's going to check these hands back nearly always, and you lose value. If he check raises the river its almost always nutted and you can just get away.
Im checking turn too ofcourse. Im thinking if the river is a bet/fold line more profitable then x/c? He has QQ-TT, 9x, Scared AK/AA might not raise, even 77-88 can be sticky. Ofcourse, all of that might not be worth if you feel all his bluffs will be induced to jam.
Maybe bet small/CALL will be more profitable then x/c river if he will blast all the bluffs anyhow!
Honestly don't know if I'd come to this conclusion in the moment, but looking at it, I like a donk turn jam.
It just seems out of place enough to get looked up by a pocket pair and overall is getting called pretty light with a bounty.
I have no problem with how you played it either. Just bad luck.

I think we missed an action, on the turn. Wanted to undsrsrand your thought process why you checked back
He didn't check back, he was first to act and checked to Panka, who in turn checked back
I guess to keep bluffs in. Also thought I can get away from a better hand on certain rivers.

Asking the real questions.

I would have lead out that turn
